How to Stop Worrying If you want to stop worrying, then you need to stop thinking so much. Thinking is a good thing of course but when you focus a lot of time over analyzing things, it can cause a lot of stress. Sometimes worrying is a good thing because it’s your mind’s way of acknowledging the importance of the situation. However, many times we worry excessively for invalid reasons. When we worry, what we are actually doing is projecting our mind out into the future. We picture negative scenarios and images. We think about the worse possible situations. Students may spend a lot of time worrying about how they did on the test they just took. The person who is running late and is stuck in traffic is worried about what people will think of him when he shows up to the meeting late. The employee watches the news during his lunch time in the break room and sees that unemployment rate is climbing starts to worry about the security of his job. In all of these situations, the person is worried about something that hasn’t happened yet. Not only that, they are worried about something that they have no control over at the present moment.
If you want to know how to stop worrying, then you need to learn how to be in the moment. Realize that the majority of things people worry about coming true, never come true. You can spend a great majority of your waking life worrying yourself to the point where you start to lower your happiness level. You may even start to draw back from life because you’re afraid of every possible negative situation that you have imagined in your head coming true. So how do you just stop worrying about everything? Here’s a simple rule. If you can’t do anything to improve the situation at the moment, let it go. Stop worrying so much about things that you have no control over. The student who is worried about what score he got is just wasting his time because what’s done is done. Whether he spends his time worrying or having fun, it’s not going to change the outcome. The employee who sees the unemployment rate increasing can worry about his job and perhaps start working harder but at the moment, during his lunch, he can’t do much about it so there is no point in worrying.

Exploring the Latest in Vitamin D Research
The explosive scientific interest in the broadspectrum benefits of vitamin D has produced numerous published studies within the past few years. The result of all of that research is clear: Vitamin D is critical to your health. The lead organization creating awareness about vitamin D research says this, “Vitamin D is critically important for the development, growth, and maintenance of a healthy body, beginning from infancy and continuing throughout our lives.”Below we’ll take a look at three impressive associations recently made between vitamin D and common health issues. Vitamin D Deficiency is Linked to Arterial Disease Vitamin D status was assessed in patients with occlusive arterial disease — more commonly known as “narrowed” arteries or plaques. Researchers from Erasmus University in the Netherlands recruited 490 people for their study. The study participants were categorized into one of four groups: • Severe vitamin D deficiency • Moderate vitamin D deficiency • Vitamin D insufficient (or mild deficiency) • Vitamin D sufficient Overall, 45% of the enrolled participants were categorized as either moderately or severely deficient in vitamin D. The researchers uncovered an association between moderate and severe deficiency and known consequences of occluded arterial diseases — like congestive heart failure and cerebral vascular disease. Vitamin D Reduces Fracture Risk A meta-analysis published in The New England Journal of Medicine reports that higher doses of vitamin D do in fact decrease the risk of fracture in older adults. This is extremely important. Fractures in older adults, especially involving the femur and hip, have high mortality rates. This means that preventing fractures ultimately prevents deaths. Test subjects with the highest vitamin D intake
4
(between 800 and 2,000 IU) had a 30% decrease in the risk of hip fractures and a 14% drop in the risk of other fractures, like of the femur. The authors concluded that vitamin D may be an effective fracture-prevention strategy. Vitamin D Helps Kids with Asthma Watching an asthmatic child struggle to breathe is scary. And unfortunately, asthma is affecting more and more kids today than ever before. But vitamin D offers simple, affordable support. In a recent study published in the Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, over 1,000 kids with persistent asthma who were using a steroid inhaler were tested for vitamin D blood levels. After organizing the kids into three groups (sufficient, insufficient, and deficient vitamin D levels), the researchers then tested lung function by measuring lung volume while exhaling — a standard test for asthma patients. They found that kids with vitamin D deficiency were more likely to have worse lung function than kids in the other two groups. The lead author of the study concluded, “Our study is the first to suggest that vitamin D sufficiency in asthmatic children treated with inhaled corticosteroids is associated with improved lung function.” These studies, are just a fraction of the research on the effectivness and application of this miricale nutrient- vitamin D. There really is no reason not to take it.

DIY: Pincushions This project pairs up Styrofoam, fabric scraps, and heart-shaped cookie cutters Step 1: To construct the base of each pincushion, place the sharp side of a cookie cutter atop a thin piece of Styrofoam. Press the cutter down to imprint the Styrofoam; then cut out the heart shape. Step 2: Cut a heart-shaped piece of fabric that’s about half an inch larger, all the way around, the Styrofoam shape. Lay the fabric, right side down, on a flat surface and cover the back with Tacky Glue; then press the Styrofoam against the fabric. Pull the excess fabric up around the Styrofoam’s edges and secure with more glue; let dry for 30 minutes. Step 3: Meanwhile, cut a square of fabric that’s at least three inches larger, all the way around the cookie cutter. Hold the cutter, sharp side up, on your lap and lay the fabric right side down over the cutter. Push fiberfill stuffing into the cutter until the fabric protrudes about three-quarters of an inch past the cutter, forming the pincushion. To close the cushion, fold over the remaining fabric and secure with a running stitch. Step 4: With the cushion still inside the cutter, cover the cushion’s bottom with a generous coat of glue. Push the Styrofoam into the cutter so that it presses against the glue; hold in place for three minutes. Let dry for 30 minutes.

If a North Korean doesn’t keep their picture of Kim Il-Sung properly dusted, they’re sentenced to hard labor and treated as political prisoners! It’s common knowledge that the North Korean people are very repressed and under strict dictatorial rules. Their fearless leader, Kim Il-Sung, is very serious about how reverent they are to him, his statues, and his photos. He even has an official list of ten principles. Within each principle there are articles, it’s not just a simple sentence per principle. Every home in North Korea must have a picture hanging of Kim Il-Sung. Article six of the third principle states “Su Ryong Comrade Kim Il-sung’s portraits, busts, statues, badges containing his portrait, publications containing his portrait, art paintings containing his portrait, signs displaying his teachings, and the Party’s basic motto must be treated with reverence and protected with utmost care.” Il-Sung’s portraits must be dusted daily with a clean cloth, not with a household rag. If not properly and respectfully taken care of, a family can be incarcerated as political prisoners and punished with hard labor
