Busy or not, staying hydrated is important It is common knowledge that drinking plenty of water is good for the body and mind. It keeps the body hydrated and able to heal, grow and function, whilst boosting concentration. Sometimes though, with a busy life schedule, it can be difficult to fit in the recommended eight glasses of water a day. The signs of dehydration often include: a dry mouth, headache, loss of concentration and increased appetite, so be sure to look out for these symptoms and counteract them with a nice cold glass of water. Although, there are ways to assist you in making sure that you stay healthy and hydrated to keep these symptoms at bay. iDrated app If you have a smartphone, then it is a good idea to download an app to help you keep track of how much water you’ve managed to take in. This app in particular is very good at logging how much you’ve drunk and how much more you need to try to drink so that you will not suffer the symptoms of dehydration. Carry a water bottle When you are especially busy, it is not always easy to find the time to go and grab a drink. This is especially true if you are in work meetings back to back or often find yourself working through your lunch. Instead, keep a bottle of water handy on your desk or in your bag, so that you are able to conveniently sip it throughout the day, without it being yet another task to put on your to-do list. Eat fruits that are high in water content Preventing dehydration can also be done via diet; foods that are high in sodium will often make you thirsty, signalling that the body needs more fluids. However, on the flip side of that, some foods such as watermelon and cucumber contain high water contents, and so can assist you in making sure that your body receives not only the right nutrients but the right amount of water as well.
