Florida Shrimp Succotash and Spicy Corn Cakes

Ingredients

Florida Shrimp Succotash

• 1 pound peeled Florida shrimp

• 1 large Florida tomato, diced

• 1 ear Florida sweet corn, cut off the cob

• 2 tablespoons olive oil

• 1 tablespoon finely chopped garlic

• 1 tablespoon seafood seasoning

• 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

• ½ cup scallions, chopped

• Sea salt and fresh ground pepper, to taste

Spicy Corn Cakes

• 1 large Florida bell pepper, diced fine

• 2 cups self-rising cornmeal

• 2 tablespoons Florida sugar

• 2 cups milk

• 2 large eggs

• 1/3 cup jalapeño, seeded and chopped

• 1/4 cup scallions, chopped

• Butter or corn oil for frying

Preparation:

Florida Shrimp Succotash

Heat the olive oil in a heavy skillet over medium-high heat until hot. Saute corn for 5 minutes, then add tomatoes, garlic, shrimp, and seafood seasoning and continue to cook for 2-3 more minutes. Stir in 1/2 the scallions and cook for 1 minute. Remove from pan and spoon over flatbread, sprinkle with remaining scallions.

Spicy Corn Cakes

In a large bowl mix together cornmeal, sugar and salt. Add in bell peppers, scallions, jalapeños, eggs, and milk and mix until well blended. Let the batter rest for 10 or 15 minutes. Add oil to just cover bottom of skillet and heat over medium-high heat. Spoon even amount of mixture into skillet and cook 3 or 4 minutes (you will see air holes). Flip and cook until golden brown. Serve warm with the succotash.

Capt. Charles “Trip” Jennings Durant Takes the Helm of 3 TowBoatUS Ports

BRUNSWICK, Ga., May 9, 2023

– Making a living from the sea is a long-standing tradition with deep roots in Capt. Charles “Trip” Jennings Durant’s family tree. After graduating from McIntosh County High School in 2003, Durant joined his family’s multigenerational shrimping operation and, soon after, began working as a part-time TowBoatUS captain. Five years ago, he took the helm of Katie-Underwood, a Sapelo Island ferry.

Durant saw TowBoatUS as his future, however. The married father of two is the new owner of TowBoatUS Brunswick and TowBoatUS Valona, Georgia, and TowBoatUS Fernandina Beach, Florida.

Durant, who is also a volunteer fire department member, spoke of his challenge in seeking a family-friendly, on-thewater career. “I wanted to be able to make a dollar and be home every night,” said Durant. “I’m feel really fortunate and excited to run my own TowBoatUS on-water towing business and helping folks on the water when they really need it the most.”

The three TowBoatUS locations are part of a network of more than 300 ports and 600-plus red response vessels. Nationwide, the towing service responds to around 90,000 requests for routine assistance each year, including towing, ungroundings, battery jumps, and fuel drop-off services.

Durant’s on-water fleet consists of three 24/7 response vessels from 25- to 28 feet, fully rigged for towing and salvage work. Additionally, the company has a boat trailer ready to go at a moment’s notice, allowing ramp launching that helps

expedite TowBoatUS service over the company’s sizable operating area that includes nearly 100 miles of remote Georgia/Florida coast out to 75 miles offshore. Many of the requests for on-water help that Durant receives are for the routine, such as engine troubles or running aground, as tides run 7 feet or more. Shoals and ocean inlets can be treacherous for boaters who don’t have local knowledge.

How to Prepare Your Boat for a Hurricane: Before & After

Learning how to prepare for a hurricane can be intimidating and a little bit frightening, especially in a midst of a storm approaching. If you own a boat anywhere along the East Coast or the along the shores of the Gulf of Mexico, you’ll likely have to deal with some direct or indirect effects associated with a hurricane.

Being proactive and getting prepared before the hurricane or tropical storm hits is extremely important—not only for the safety of you and your loved ones, but also for the safety of your boat.

In this post, we’ll explain how you can prepare yourself and your boat for an impending hurricane. We’ll also share tips for safety and boat recovery after a hurricane hits.

Hurricane Preparedness Checklist for Boat Owners

1. Stay informed and up-to-date on weather reports.

2. Trailer your boat, and head inland to a safer region that is out of reach from the storm.

3. If you can’t transport your boat out of the area, then prepare to batten down the hatches.

4. Remove anything that’s not permanently part of the boat.

5. Apply extra fenders and double up on your normal dock line usage.

6. Check that all hatches and portholes are secure.

7. Drop an anchor fore and aft.

8. Evacuate to a safe location.

4 Tips for Hurricane Safety: How to Prepare Your Boat

1. Stay Informed

One of the reasons that boaters love being out on the water is that it helps them destress and get away from life’s everyday troubles. However, if you live an area that’s exposed to hurricanes (or other extreme weather conditions), you need to be aware of upcoming storms.

To stay updated on upcoming storm systems, download a reliable weather app, such as The Weather Channel, Dark Sky Weather, or AccuWeather. Of all the things you can do to keep safe when you’re in the path of a hurricane, advance warning is, by far, the most effective.

2. Get Out Of The Way

For most recreational powerboats, many times the best solution is to pull the vessel and head inland. This reduces the impact of the initial storm surge and the accompanying rain and hurricane force wind. The sooner you do this the better, because there will be many people who either don’t or can’t move their boats in advance. They will be the ones

jammed onto back roads and highways when mandatory evacuation orders are issued.

3. Batten Down The Hatches

For boats that can’t be moved, it’s time to go old-school mariner and batten down those hatches. That phrase has survived modern times because it precisely describes what you need to do in a crisis situation.

• First, remove anything that’s not permanently part of the boat. That means cushions, toasters, life jackets, curtain rods and anything else that would fall off if the boat gets sideways. If you leave these items aboard, you not only risk losing them for good, but you could create dangerous projectiles for anyone or anything nearby during the worst parts of the storm.

• Use plenty of extra fenders, used tires, or anything else that will absorb impact and lash them to the boat.

• Quadruple your normal line usage, springing to any and all potential contact points.

• Check that all hatches and portholes are secure and detach or cover windscreens.

• Drop an anchor fore and aft and ensure they’re well set.

4. Don’t Try To “Ride” Out the Storm

When a storm is approaching, some boaters try to ride out the storm on their boat in open water. Although you may think this sounds better than evacuating or securing your boat, this won’t help you or your boat stay safe during hurricane winds and rain.

Although as boaters, our boats become an important part of our lifestyles and identities, they aren’t worth our safety. They can always be replaced, and you should put your personal safety first in the event of a hurricane.

9 Post-Hurricane Safety Tips for Boaters

Once the hurricane has passed, it’s time to move into recovery mode. Below, you’ll find tips for safely recovering your boat and the necessary next steps you should take.

1. Follow Flood Warnings: Don’t drive in flooded waters or ignore local flood advisories. Although it’s understandable that you want to start repairing your boat, it’s crucial that you do so safely. Once you’re cleared to go check on your boat, be aware of fallen power lines, debris, and other obstacles in your path.

2. Be Careful in Floodwater: If you have to be in floodwater, it’s crucial to wear a life jacket at all times. As you likely know, having a life jacket on your boat is crucial, so you should have it on-hand anyways.

3. Wash Your Hands and Treat Injuries

Immediately: Floodwater can contain dangerous bacteria and chemicals that may put your health in danger. If you’re exposed to floodwater, wash your hands thoroughly with soap and clean water. In addition, if you suffer any wounds or injuries, get them treated as soon as possible.

4. Review Your Boat Insurance Policy: Most likely, you have some type of boat insurance policy in place. These policies typically cover boat damage caused by a hurricane, so you can rest easy. However, it’s still important to review your insurance policy to fully understand what your policy covers.

5. Gather Necessary Supplies: As you prepare to repair and clean your boat after a storm, you should gather supplies that will make the process easier. These items include trash bags to dispose of debris, boots and gloves to move about your boat, duct tape to secure any cracks or broken parts, and cleaning supplies.

6. Assess Your Boat for Damages: Before you check out your boat, confirm that your marina is open, docks are fixed, and that it is safe to visit. Once you receive confirmation, check on your boat as soon as possible. Remember to bring proof of boat ownership, as some marinas deal with looters after a hurricane.

7. Immediately Remove Moisture and Dirt: To avoid further issues, begin removing any mud, moisture, and debris from the boat. This will prevent mold and permanent damage.

8. Check the Boat for Structural Damage, Leaks, and System Issues: Next, you should check the bilge to ensure that the boat hasn’t experienced any underwater damage, and identify any problems with the engine fuel systems, bilge pump, electronic systems, and other parts of the boat. Although you may be able to fix some issues yourself, it’s best to record damage for your insurance company.

9. Preparing for the Worst: How to Handle a Sunk or Beached Boat: No boater wants to prepare for it, but you should consider how you’ll handle an unsalvageable or extremely damaged boat. Again, all damage should be documented for your insurance company, and you should contact them to determine next steps.

A VESSEL SAFETY CHECK - STUART - Despite numerous COVID-19 restrictions, more and more boaters are taking to the water to alleviate at-home boredom while taking advantage of the open-air benefits and more pandemic-free aspects of recreational boating. But if you haven’t been out boating in a while, are your vessel’s lights operating properly? Do you have a sufficient number of life jackets for the number of passengers aboard? Is your engine’s ventilation system up to par? To get you started on a new year boating adventure, now may be a perfect time to consider getting a 2022 Vessel Safety Check (VSC) offered by certified VSC examiners from the St. Lucie River Power Squadron, also known as America’s Boating Club of Martin County. These trained VSC examiners from the local squadron will point out safety features such as minimum requirements required by the U.S. Coast Guard, examine fundamental mechanical aspects of your vessel, and answer questions how you can have more fun safely on the water. These are just a few of the many discussion points covered in this voluntary examination. As an added plus, Vessel Safety Checks are free to boat owners. BOATING CLASSES - A Vessel Safety Check is a complimentary check of your boat conducted by members of the Auxiliary, confirming that it meets both federal and state requirements for safety. No citations are issued, and the results of the safety check are not reported to any enforcement agency, but a decal is awarded

to display when the vessel has passed the examination. A class will help the boater avoid being a statistic. It teaches how to handle a boat safely and what to do in an emergency. Finally, taking a boating safety course is a wonderful way to learn the rules and regulations, especially those unique to Florida. Novice and experienced boaters or even non-boaters can benefit from a safe boating course – as an initial learning experience or as a refresher. Regardless of experience level, taking a class is always a good idea. Coast Guard Foundation Run to Remember

Fourth Annual Event to Honor Fallen Coast Guard Heroes on Memorial Day

Stonington, Conn. — The Coast Guard Foundation, a nonprofit organization committed to strengthening the Coast Guard community and service by supporting members and families, announced today its annual Run to Remember will be held over Memorial Day weekend, May 27-29, 2023. The event honors fallen Coast Guard heroes and their families, and raises funds for the organization’s tragedy assistance programs.

Supporters can take part individually by signing up directly, or by organizing an activity in their community. Involvement can include a run on a treadmill, a walk or jog around a park, or some other exercise activity. Participants are encouraged to support the Run to Remember by purchasing a commemorative t-shirt printed with the names of the fallen. STORM PREPAREDNESS

Here is a list of the many things to consider before, during and after a storm.

PREPARE BEFORE THE STORM ARRIVES

• Review your boat insurance policy carefully to know if you are required to take action in order to make a claim valid.

• If you keep your boat at a marina, find out what their storm policy is and take the proper steps.

• If you are going to move your boat, determine where ahead of time.

• Learn the storm surge history and elevation of your area.

• Learn safe routes inland and make plans of where you will evacuate to.

• Take inventory of the property on your boat and video if possible. Plan what will be removed from the boat and what will stay.

• Keep all legal documents such as registration, insurance policy, marina rental agreement, etc. in one secure and dry container away from the vessel.

WHEN A HURRICANE WATCH IS ISSUED

A watch means hurricane conditions pose a possible threat to the watch area within 36-hours.

• Frequently monitor radio, TV, NOAA Weather Radio, and/or hurricane hotline telephone numbers for official bulletins of the storm’s progress.

• Ensure access to emergency equipment such as first aid kit, flashlights, and/or battery-powered radios.

• Move boats on trailers close to a building. Weigh them down. Lash securely to the trailer and use tie-downs to anchor the trailer.

• Anchored boats should be tied high, using a half hitch knot (loop knots slip). Anchor rigging should consist of new or good line and chain.

• Boats docked at marinas should have extra lines attached. Line lengths should be sufficient to accommodate excessive high water.

• Once your boat is secured, leave it and don’t return until the storm has passed.

• Fuel your car.

• Stock up on canned provisions

• Check supplies of special medicines and drugs.

• Secure lawn furniture and other loose material outdoors.

• Tape, board, or shutter windows to prevent shattering.

• Wedge sliding glass doors to prevent them from lifting from their tracks.

WHEN A HURRICANE WARNING IS ISSUED

A warning means sustained winds of 74 mph or higher are expected in the warning area within 24-hours or less.

• Closely monitor radio, TV, NOAA Weather Radio, and/or hurricane hotline telephone numbers for official bulletins.

• Follow instructions issued by local officials and LEAVE IMMEDIATELY IF ORDERED TO DO SO.

• Plan to evacuate if you live on the coastline, an offshore island, or live near a river or in a flood plain.

If staying home in a sturdy structure on high ground:

• Board up garage and porch doors.

• Move valuables to upper floors.

• Bring pets in.

• Fill containers with several days supply of drinking water. Approximately one gallon per person, per day.

• Turn up refrigerator to maximum cold and don’t open unless necessary.

• Only use your phone for emergencies.

• Stay indoors on the downwind side of the house away from windows.

• Beware of the eye of the hurricane.

• Bring in small hand tools to aid you should your home be damaged during the storm.

If you are evacuating:

• Leave early in daylight if possible.

• Shut off water and electricity at main stations.

• Take small valuables and documents but travel light.

• Persons needing special foods or medicines should take them with them.

• Take sufficient money in small bills to defray certain expenses you may incur.

• Lock up house.

• Notify family members or friends outside of the warned area of your evacuation plans.

• Drive carefully to designated shelter or other evacuation location by following recommended evacuation routes.

AFTER THE STORM PASSES

• Stay in your protected area until the storm has passed and local officials announce it is safe to travel.

• Drive carefully – watch for dangling electrical wires, undermined roads, and flooded low spots.

• Report broken or damaged water, sewer, and electrical lines.

• Use caution when re-entering your home.

• If your home has structural damage, do not enter until it is checked by building officials.

• Check for gas leaks.

• Check food and water for spoilage.

According to NOAA, the 2023 hurricane season may be slower than recent years thanks to a late summer development of El Niño. An official outlook for hurricane season will be released at the end of May.

Weather can be unpredictable, so better to prepare in advance for the worse than to scramble at the last minute. Sea Tow CEO, Captain Joseph Frohnhoefer III, heeds a strong warning, “Boaters should always be prepared for rough weather. It’s hard to predict how we’ll be impacted by the hurricane season. It’s better to be safe than sorry; make your storm plan now.”

Ensure You’re Insured. A boat that is damaged by a storm can cost far more to fix than a marine insurance policy costs annually. Review your boat policy’s requirements and be sure to comply with them. Boat owners whose insurance requires them to relocate their vessels out of a hurricane zone should do so by the date specified in their policy.

Man with a Plan. Most insurance providers require a formal written storm plan detailing where and how your boat will be secured during a major event. Designate a responsible person to execute the plan if you are out of town when a threat arises.

No Loose Cannons. Check with your marina, storage facility or the owner of the private dock where your boat is moored, to be sure the vessel can remain there during a storm. If it can stay, know the procedure for securing not only your boat, but those docked around it, as well. Any boat that breaks loose in a storm could potentially damage your boat.

Smooth Move. If you must move your boat from its current slip in the event of a storm, decide where you are going to have it hauled before the season even begins. Check with your local Sea Tow operator to see what pre-storm haul-out services are offered in your area.

Shoot Your Boat. Make an inventory, preferably by video, of all valuable fixed items such as marine electronics that you cannot remove from your boat. Store all the boat’s documents, including your marine insurance policy, in a secure place not on the vessel.

Lastly, keep an eye to the sky and closely monitor local and national weather services, including NOAA Weather Radio and the National Weather Service’s National Hurricane Center (www.nhc.noaa.gov.)

Warm Weather Pompano

Florida Pompano (Trachinotuscarolinus) are a much overlooked fish, fun to catch and even better to eat. A feisty fish very hard swimmer that puts up a great fight on light tackle.

Pompano are in the jack family and first cousins to permit. Juvenile permit and pompano school together in many area and are often difficult to tell apart. Since the net ban pompano population has increased tenfold giving local anglers a chance to catch fish.

Pompanos are found in warm waters of Tampa Bay and shorelines of the gulf beaches. This year has produced more pompano than I can remember maybe due to the lack of greenback sardines in the area more fishermen including us guides started using live shrimp as a backup source, which happens to be one of their favorite baits.

Now having said all of this pompano fishing is very time consuming and lots of work, they can be caught from the shore around bridge pilings and the working the grass flats. One old trick is to run your boat on a plane through the flats and watch for them skip your wave, once you see

them skip work the area with jigs, live shrimp while drifting the flats.

My favorite tackle for pompano, 10-to15-pound braided line on a medium spinning reel 7.6-footfast taped spinning rod. I found using 20-pound fluorocarbon leader works best a #1/0 circlehook with a fiddle crab or shrimp. When fishing the beaches sand fleas are also a good choice and easy to catch.

Live baits are fished on the bottom with a small split shot just enough to drag the bottom and stir up some sand drawing the attention of the pompano. When using live shrimp, I prefer to run the hook from the back and under the tail of the shrimp so as drag the shrimp makes look like it is avoiding another predator and increases the bite. Another method and my favoriteare using jigs they give me the ability to cover a larger area whether I am fishing the shoreline or drifting the flats in a boat. You want to bounce off the bottom so that when fall a puff of sand pops up making it look like a crab trying to bury itself. Some of the best jigs I have found are the ¼ and

3/8-ouncepompano jigs they look like a banana in pink n white or yellow. The other is a feathered jig chrome head with white-red and silver feathers both of these are killers on pompano and other species.

Pier or bridge fishing for pompano is challenging, I use a3/8- or 1/2-ouncepompano jig depending on the current at the time. Drop the jig along the pilling and bounce it off the bottom the sinking motion of the jig entices strikes find the area with the best current flow for best results. When fishing around pilings or dock it makes sense to increase you leader size to 30-pound test to avoid break offs. The lighter the line the less weight needed to keep the bait on the bottom.

OFFSHORE REPORT

Red grouper is the big focus offshore now especially with the possibility of them being closed early this summer. We want to take advantage while we can and enjoy all our opportunities to catch as many as possible. We are seeing the best chances for red grouper as we get deeper past around 120-140ft of water or more. They love those live baits and bigger dead baits in the deeper water areas. However, you can get lucky on a whole threadfin with the tail cut too. I like a reel with at least 35lbs of drag or more to target the red grouper. Typically, around 6080lb test and around a 7-10ot hook depending on the size of your bait is a good set up for these healthy groupers. Unlike the gag grouper, red grouper is typically a little easier to land if you can get them to bite because they are not as typical to run right at a rocky hole to break you off or rock you up. They are typically out foraging and are more commonly just going to try and run along or around the structure and not so much into it, and this is why you do not need as heavy tackle while targeting the red grouper offshore compared to the gag grouper that will open September first through November 10th this year!

Scamp grouper fishing has been going well offshore too, we are seeing the scamp around those potholes in deeper water and smaller ledges. We do see them sometimes in the bigger relief areas, but it is more common to catch them on those smaller rocks and more tactical spots in the deeper offshore waters. The biggest scamp groupers are around 200-400ft of water, but we see them as shallow as the deepest near shore waters too. They just get bigger and more common the closer to that 200-400ft area you get. Typically, we catch them on smaller to medium pinfish or cut dead bait. I normally catch most of mine while targeting the big mangrove snapper in deeper offshore waters.

Mangrove snapper offshore right now are biting well and that should continue into the summer. Once we hit the heat of summer like later July into September it becomes a bit more challenging to get big numbers of concentrated large mangroves, but we still see plenty. The heat of the summer they are more finicky and less aggressive, and the overall size dwindles on average. However, right now is a great chance for 6-10lb

fish in decent numbers especially when fishing deeper beyond 120-160ft of water or more. We are seeing good mangrove snapper numbers even as deep as 240ft now.

Yellowtail snapper are common now too, and some occasional mutton snapper as well. These are great additional bonus snappers while we target and catch plentiful mangroves. Another great bycatch that some will target heavily on our longer-range trips is the big and plentiful vermillion snapper we see when fishing deeper offshore. They get big as we approach and pass that 200ft mark. Plus, while seeing them we get the bigger porgies in good numbers too!

Pelagic wise we are seeing some nice wahoo action on the troll. We had around 3 long range trips in a row with wahoo being caught and one 39 hours had two hooked up at once! Blackfin tuna action has been spotty but present and even some coming up while bottom fishing and just dropping live baits at night. Kingfish are possible, but we have not been seeing as many lately.

A Successful Afternoon of Bass Fishing!

After a long day at work on Thursday afternoon, I decided to unwind by going fishing at the spillway. Armed with a dozen shiners and my trusty GoPro camera, I was eager to spend an hour or so fishing before my wife, Tania, finished work. Since I had recently lost 45 pounds, I was excited to try out my chest mount in hopes of capturing some great footage.

As I made my way to the water, I started filming right away, knowing it wouldn’t be long before I caught my first fish. Despite the fact that we hadn’t had any rain in the past five days, the water level was still high enough to make for good fishing. The flow was slow, but that didn’t deter me from getting started.

Within the first five minutes of casting my line, I hooked my first bass. I was so excited that I forgot to double-check that my GoPro was recording, and unfortunately, I lost the footage. Lesson learned: always double-check your camera is rolling before you start fishing.

Over the next hour, I went through my dozen shiners and managed to catch five bass, with only one gar getting away. While I was disappointed not to catch any snook, I was overall happy with the results. The bass I caught were all decent size, ranging from 12-16 inches. Sadly, I only managed to capture pictures of three of the five fish due to technical difficulties.

Despite the setbacks, I learned a few valuable

lessons during my adventure that will help me produce better videos in the future.

First, always check that your camera is recording before you start fishing.

Second, make sure to have a backup plan in case your equipment fails. And third, be patient and stay positive, even if things don’t go exactly as planned.

Tania and I hope all those who were able to go fishing this week had a safe trip and those planning to go this weekend have an equally blessed and safe experience.

A Slow Day of Fishing, But a Great Day of Fellowship!

On Friday, I had a few hours before Tania got off work. I called up my buddy Don and asked if he wanted to go fishing. He was all in, but I had to wait until he finished what he was doing. While I waited for him, I ran and picked up a few dozen shiners.

Don picked me up, and we went to explore a spillway we had never been to. When we got there, we realized the spillway was only a foot deep, and there were no fish in it. We tried above the spillway for a bit, but we didn’t have any luck. We saw some cichlids but no bass, so we went to the spillway I know

The Silver King, “Tarpon”, are abundant all through the local waterways. The juvenile Tarpon are in the back country areas along mangrove shorelines, the bigger tarpon are roaming the deeper cuts and channels chasing bait schools. As we get closer to summer, the bigger fish are going to start coming down the beaches and and lingering in local inlets. Live bait will definitely get the bite, but you can’t go wrong with throwing a DOA Terror Eyz.

The snook are on the move! Bigger snook are starting to migrate to local inlets getting ready for the upcoming spawn. Plenty of snook around docks, seawalls and mangrove shorelines to keep anglers busy. Present a live bait or a DOA C.A.L. 3” shad tail, to get the drag screaming. While targeting snook and tarpon,

there are plenty of other species being caught as well. Triple tail, jacks, sharks, ladyfish, bluefish, snapper, and many others to put a bend in the rod.

Fun in the sun! The weather has been phenomenal in south Florida, allowing anglers to enjoy plenty of rod, bending action in the south Florida sun.

Snook fishing has been pretty steady the past week for anglers. Live baiting has been the best method targeting seawalls, and docks. Moving water is another key to successful snook action. Both sides of the tides produce great fishing for anglers.

Tarpon fishing in the back bays and canals, has been consistent the past week. The bigger, tarpon, lingering near channels and inlets have been a little finicky. Live baits free lined with the tide will get the drag

Treasure Coast

We got to the second spot, and it was a slow day. The gar kept taking our bait, but they are hard to hook with a circle hook, and to be honest, we were not wanting to catch any. I was hoping for a decent bass or possibly a snook.

We fished this spot for 45 minutes before I caught the first fish. I landed a largemouth sleeper fish, and shortly after, I landed a short snook. Unfortunately, Don did not catch anything; however, he was fishing with artificial baits, so it makes sense. The fish weren’t even hungry for live bait.

At this point, Don suggested we go to the C-23 canal spillway. When we got there, we only had about 20 minutes to fish, as I had to get home to take Tania to an appointment. In the short time we were there, Don had something hit his bait right at the rocks, and I caught a small snook.

Even though it was a slow day fishing, both Don and I had a great afternoon of fellowship. All in all, we had a good time. Tania and I pray all who made it out this weekend had a blessed and safe trip. May all who go out this week have tight lines and good times.
