EDITOR’S
(NOTES)
Another Soldier Gone Too Soon by Mary Coleman As Co-Founder and Co-Editor I fervently thank all of our readers and supporters. I offer special thanks to those who contribute to help keep the legacy of this magazine alive. Our late Founder, Editor in Chief, Neil Woodard, often reminded us in his latter days to “expect the unexpected.” The theme of this issue was about “family.” However, due to the unexpected I have taken the liberty to expand that theme to include a challenge to stir up the gifts of God’s people. Once again in the face of the unexpected the publication of the magazine was delayed due to the loss of another soldier, my brother. At his birth on April 17, 1963, Rainer Coleman, affectionately known as Prince, was given a divine appointment to meet with God on September 26, 2016. Over the span of his life as his book was being written, he recorded many chapters. Somewhere along the way there was a period of disconnect where he chose to isolate himself from his family. But I thank God today for his many friends and extended family who took good care of him during those years. What is most amazing and provides hope to me is how God works things out when you ask for His help. In April of this year after many years of prayer, reaching out to connect and prodding by his girlfriend Rose, I know it was the Almighty who brought us together knowing his appointment was soon to come. We all gathered at the home of our eldest sister the weekend of his birthday and had a grand old time. After that meeting it was nonstop phone calls, texting and he even made an unannounced and totally unexpected visit to my home. He reconnected via phone with many of his cousins too. Over the last 6 months I now realize how much of his life I missed being 8 years older. I missed all of his years of playing high school basketball (#44 on the front cover) and football. Sadly, I only remember attending one of his college (#58 on the front cover) football games. I am so very grateful and I thank God for bringing us together before his scheduled departure. Though the time was short I learned just how much he and I had in common. Rainer had many gifts and contributed three articles to the Remnant Magazine. His last article ended with the following statement which I find to be foretelling though I didn’t recognize it as such until after his death. He said, “… any road eventually leads back home even after the key to the door lock is pulled for the very last time.” Rainer loved family and cherished his friends and I believe he would encourage us to love one another at all cost and never allow obstacles of life to separate us from that love. How can we say we love God whom we have never seen and not love the brother or sister we encounter every day? I believe he would also offer up the challenge for you to stir up the gift of God which is in you. Prince please say hello to Neil! Until we all meet again… They Are Only Gone on Ahead They have only gone on ahead of us, Not just left us behind. Although we can’t be with them right now,
They live on in our heart and our mind. The day will come when we will meet again On Heaven’s distant shore, And all of us will walk hand in hand Together forever more.

The Word of God Out of Love by Elder Thomas Williams, PhD By the time that this article appears in September edition of The Remnant Magazine, all of our children should be back in school in the United States and perhaps around the world. I pray that “The God of the whole earth” (Isaiah 54:5) bless and guide our children as they obey their parents and teachers. In the United States of America, children are told that they have rights. In the eyes of the law, children do have rights and should be protected under color of law, but do children have the right to be disobedient and disruptive at home and in school? The Bible says, “Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing to the Lord” (Colossians 3:20). No ands, ifs, or buts about it! When children are in school, contrary to popular belief, school personnel have full authority over each child (by law) because we stand in the place of the child’s parent or guardian. The Bible says, “Obey them that have rule over you, and submit yourselves…” (Hebrews 13:17). ALL teachers have rule (authority) over their students under color of law; therefore, all students should submit to (“come under the authority of”) their teachers. In the United States of America, our Constitution talks about freedom of speech. Freedom of speech is a first amendment right protected under color of law. This means that people living in America (including children) have the right to freedom of speech. The United States Constitution, however, does not say when or how to exercise our right to free speech. The Bible says, “…a time to keep silence, and a time to speak “(Ecclesiastes 3:7b). Thus, there is a time for a person (regardless of age) to just sit and listen as well as a time for one to exercise his or her right to free speech. The question is---when? I brought up freedom of speech because at times I have been on the receiving end of some rather abrasive and crude comments from some of my students. As my late father use to say: “A man’s [child’s] mouth will get him into trouble.” The Bible says, “Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from trouble” (Proverbs 21:23). In other words, do let your mouth get you into trouble, so just be quiet. About fifteen years ago, one of my spiritual sons said to me as we talked: “Elder Williams, it’s easy to get into trouble, but hard to get out.” I cannot emphasize this enough, do not let your mouth get you into trouble. As an educator in my own right, I do not believe for one iota that any parent in the known world send their children to school to argue back and forth with and/or fight with their teachers. I know that my parents did not! My siblings and I knew better. Williams (2011, p.169) believes that the “school is a training station and an extension of the family (Proverbs 22:6) and community.” Since schools appear to be state-sanctioned training stations, parents send their children to school to be trained by teachers. The Bible says, “Train up [educate] a child in the way that he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6). The training that a child gets in school will follow him or her all the days of his or her life. As an educator and a father, I want ALL of our children to be good citizens and to obey school rules. The Bible says, “Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right” (Proverbs 20:13). What is your child known for? Continued on page 9

Out of Love by Elder Thomas Williams, PhD
Take the Challenge by Mary Coleman
(Continued from page 7)
The Bible says: “Chasten thy son while there is hope: and let not thy soul spare for his crying” (Proverbs 19:18), “Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him” (Proverbs 22:15), and “Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die. Thou shall beat him with the rod, and shall deliver his soul from hell” (Proverbs 23:13-14). Correct your children or the Lord God will correct you. If you do not believe me, ask Eli. The Bible says, “Hear counsel and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in the latter end” (Proverbs 19:20). Talk less and listen more. Out of love I share these things because I do not want to see any of our children destroyed by the devil. About Eli and his sons 1st Samuel 2:12-17, 22-25, 27-36 1st Samuel 3:11-18 1st Samuel 4:11-18
In the December 1993, Volume One, Number One issue of the Rapture-Time Herald, a newsletter of which I was the editor, I did a short editorial piece to encourage people to use their God given gifts. Twenty-three years later I find myself still on the battlefield with that same message on behalf of my Lord and Savior to encourage people to recognize and use their gifts/talents. So today in the Remnant Magazine I am asking our readers to “Take the Challenge.” God made us and He formed us with a purpose in mind (Jeremiah 1:5; Jeremiah 29:11). To each life He gave a part of himself to effect a positive change in mankind (Genesis 1:27). Are you living in the will that God has for your life?

Take the challenge and stir up the gift of God which is in you and do it with no strife! (1 Corinthians 16:13-14 – MSG) Perhaps it’s that something you’ve always wanted to do but for whatever reason could never get to. It’s faith that you need in this hour; for God is calling you to operate in His power. Never mind your neighbor it’s you He wants. Use what He has given you and honor your Savior! A dear friend and contributor to this magazine, Dr. Thomas Williams, recently said “I don’t want to leave this earth without fulfilling the purpose for my life.” What a powerful statement and a desire that acknowledges the sovereignty of God. It also provides credence to why I am so passionate about the mission of the magazine to inspire, encourage, motivate and help education others about the things that really matter in life. I give God the honor and the glory for all things.

Spirituality and Family The term “Family” means so many different things to different people. Aside from the conventional blood relatives, we are all family in the name of Christ. Families are formed through loving relationships and friendships. It is a bond that brings us together, that allows us to share of ourselves. We are living in difficult times. Many people feel isolated. Social media limits face to face interaction. Life challenges limit individual abilities to engage on a personal level, on a spiritual level, on an emotional level. It is so important to reconnect with loved ones we may not have seen for a long time. It is important to clarify misunderstandings. It is important to tell our loved ones how we feel every single day. I had the privilege of spending time with my dear friend Neil Woodard. We were able to talk about life’s challenges and describe how we felt about family and friends. Before Neil’s passing, we were able to tell each other how important we were in each other’s lives. Neil knew my family. He became part of my family. He brought to me a great source of inspiration as I am sure I was able to provide for him. With “Family” as the topic of this month’s issue, I encourage all of you to take the time to reconnect with your loved ones. It is also a good time right before the holidays to provide assistance to the less fortunate. Whenever you see someone with no food, feed them. When they have no home, help them find shelter. When they are troubled, lend an ear. Take the time to show someone you care. In these difficult times when many feel isolated and afraid, use the love of family to help carry them through. As the holidays draw near, it is important to bring our families closer together because at the end of the day when others are not available, they can always be the source of encouragement and support that we need. I give thanks each day for God’s blessings. I encourage you to use the power of prayer and give thanks for your blessings as well.

Never Give Up On Your Dream by Mary Coleman What God has for you is for you… (Jeremiah 29:11) After my brother’s burial we had the overwhelmingly spirit-crushing task of cleaning out his residence. My 2 ½ hour trip to help with this endeavor was planned as a two nights stay but due to delays related to hurricane Matthew, my trip was extended for three nights instead. It was the last day of my trip; I was alone in my brother’s apartment waiting for my sister and her husband to return with the U-haul trailer. As I waited, I thought about my brother’s life and how he had spent all of his adult days after college at that one address and I believe he kept every letter, card, etc., that he had ever received. As I looked around assessing the progress we had made, I started picking up trash to put in a bag of what appeared to be a bag of trash already on the floor. I opened the bag to deposit more trash and my spirit cautioned me to check the contents to be sure it was indeed a bag of trash. Immediate observation revealed the bag contained papers, envelopes, magazines, etc. and I kind of flipped through it to make sure I didn’t see anything of importance. While flipping through I spotted something familiar. It was a newsletter I did back in December 1993. I picked it up and noticed someone had ripped a few of the pages to tear off the name and address. I opened the newsletter and there was a post-it note I had written to my brother dated January 17, 1994. The post-it note signed “Love Sis Mary” read as follows: “Hi Prince, This is the Church newsletter I told you about. This newsletter is the vehicle to the magazine! As you read it think of how you can be involved, using the gift that God has given you! You’ll never know who will be blessed by your efforts! Take care, be careful in the weather!” Wow, something leaped within me! What a find, it was like discovering a pot of gold! When my sister returned I shared my find with her and I said “you know I have to share this story.” It may not sound like much to you so let me explain. Let’s fast forward to 2014 when a college classmate, Neil Woodard and I reconnected after almost 40 years. We reconnected on Facebook and our friendship grew rapidly into a partnership as editors of a newsletter titled by Neil as the Remnant Newsletter. He mentioned he wanted to do a newsletter and I instantly said let’s do it. We worked together for months publishing that newsletter. The effort was almost seamless as Neil had the people/networking skills, I had the creative/technical skills and together we made a good team. Somewhere around the 10 th or 11th month we talked about moving to the next level and again without hesitation I said “let’s do it.” January 2016 together along with the help of some incredible friends/contributors we published our first magazine titled The Remnant Magazine. On April 17, 2016, Neil traveled with me to attend a family function to reunite with my brother and celebrate his 53rd birthday. This would be the first time seeing my brother in over 20 years. As fate would have it, Neil and Rainer hit it off good. As two ex-athletes, they had a few stories to share. Well on April 27, 2016, exactly ten days later, Neil passed away, a sudden and totally unexpected death. Devastated, I knew I had to keep the legacy of the magazine alive. I didn’t know how because the extrovert, the person with the networking/people skills was no longer in my life. Nonetheless, I knew in my spirit that I could not quit. I made up my mind that if it was God’s will the magazine would continue. I found myself becoming more of an extrovert, talking to people about the magazine and doing all the things I saw Neil doing. I spoke with many of his contacts and they were onboard and committed to keeping the legacy of the magazine alive. I even talked to my brother and he also committed, contributing his first article in our May issue.

Your Loving Child by J. Quest “Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. From the end of the earth will I cry unto Thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For Thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy. I will abide in Thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of Thy wings. Selah.” Psalm 61:1-4 Aren’t we thankful that the Lord God Almighty is attentive to our prayers? No concern of ours is too small or big for God to handle. He knows we need to depend upon Him but what’s important is for us to realize this. Issues, problems, annoyances are designed by the Almighty to help us recognize that we can fix disasters in life but would do well to lean on and depend upon Jesus. With Jesus, we can do all things…but without Him, we’d have a hopeless existence. God’s will is for us to thrive, not just survive! According to God’s word, the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth to show Himself strong in behalf of those whose hearts are loyal (perfect) toward Him. God Almighty, please bless me to recognize that Your will actually being done should be more important to me than anything else. Lord, I can’t take a step without the leading of Your Spirit. For, as the hart (deer) pants after the water brook…so pants my heart after Thee O God. When I think about Your goodness and all You’ve done for me my soul shouts hallelujah and thanks for making me free! And, as you’re probably already thinking, who the Son makes free…is free indeed! Help me to align my faith, will and values with the things that are near and dear to Your heart Lord. Jesus I will cry unto You when my heart is overwhelmed by the pressures of life and I will, by Your grace, cry unto you when all is well. You’re God and are an ever-present help in the time of trouble. I’m thankful that you never get tired or bored with me coming to You. Thankfully You command us in Your holy word to come boldly unto the throne of grace so we can find mercy and grace to help in the time of (our) need. You’re such a merciful Lord. God, my heart’s cry is that you will lead me to the Rock that is higher than I. Just as Moses expressed an urgent longing for You in Exodus 33:13, “Now therefore, I pray Thee, if I have found grace in Thy sight, shew me now Thy way, that I may know Thee, that I may find grace in Thy sight…” Correspondingly, Jesus said, I am the way, the truth and the life…no man comes to the Father, but by Me. Lord, I thank You for saving my soul and giving me a hope that transcends the grave. The mean cold grave couldn’t keep You down but had to let You go after 3 short days…for You were raised by the power of Your Father with all power in Your hands. That same Spirit that raised You from the dead is able to resurrect everything that’s dead in my life to Your eternal glory and might! For I have come to realize that in You I live, move and have my being. Our cries never go unanswered when we call on Your name, great God! Our God is a great God Who is holy, loving, compassionate, and full of mercy and grace! Oh taste and see that the Lord is good! Lead me to the Rock Who is higher than I. You have taught me that You, our Rock, are ready, willing and able to meet every need in my life. You are truly the only God there is! The Apostle Philip refused to believe that You indeed had risen until he protruded his hands into Your nail prints. He then declared, My Lord and My God. Lord, I desire to believe and have faith in You, through Your word, even when I don’t have a full and complete understanding of what’s happening in my life. Jesus, I know You’re concerned about every aspect, every facet, every detail of my life. Nothing goes unnoticed by You and I am grateful for Your tender loving care! Everything must be ‘filtered’ through Your loving mercy and grace before it comes into my life. I am so thankful to be Your child! Thank you for saving me; it’s a privilege to be called by Your name. I love You Lord and am grateful to You eternally!!! Your loving child!!

A Message from Uma Glow
www.umaglow.com
Hello Remnant Magazine friends! I’d like to introduce myself. I am the owner and CEO of Uma Glow, LLC which is a division of UMA Enterprises, LLC. My slogan is “Let Me Help You LOVE You” by taking care of yourself from the outside in. It is a commandment to honor the vessel that God has given so you can be the best for your family, friends and anyone else that needs you. We are all exposed to chemicals every day through our environment, but we have a choice in what we put into and on our bodies. I encourage everyone to choose a healthy diet with less processed foods. Think about what you last ate. How close was that meal to its natural state? The further away you get from the natural (loaded with ingredients that you can barely pronounce), the closer you get to living less of a quality of life in the future. The same goes for the products you use every day that are applied to your skin and hair. But the good news is you can make the choice to love yourself as God would have you to do! Let’s start with the wonderful products that my business produces. My products are manufactured with certified organic ingredients, fair trade ingredients and essential oils. We do not use any chemicals, fillers or toxic materials. I’ve researched each ingredient used in my products which can be reviewed at your leisure on my website www.umaglow.com. So let me help you love you by using my wonderful products made with love!

Never Give Up On Your Dream by Mary Coleman (Continued from page 13) What God has for you is for you… (Jeremiah 29:11) As mentioned, up to April of 2016 I had no prior communication with my brother for 20 or so years and Neil had become my prayer partner in praying for his reunion with the family. Well I got my brother back and lost a dear friend. Over the summer months my brother was a big part of my life. We talked about the old days and he flooded my computer with pictures and my phone with both pictures and text messages. I learned that Rainer was quite the family historian with his collection of pictures and videos. I discovered that my baby brother (8 years younger) and I had a lot in common and I was thrilled to have him as a contributor to the magazine. Rainer contributed his last article in our August issue as he too passed away October 26, 2016, a sudden and totally unexpected death. So now, let’s go back to 1993 and the note I wrote to my brother on January 17, 1994 which was discovered in a trash bag put there by my sister who was helping to clean out his apartment which contained his lifetime of possessions. Finding that newsletter was like finding a needle in a haystack but I know God wanted me to find it. First I stayed over an extra day had I left on schedule the newsletter would not have been discovered. What this encounter reveals is I had a seed planted in me long before Neil came in to the picture and that same seed was planted in my brother and in Neil. That explains why I could say “let’s do it” without hesitation. The Lord knew us before we were conceived and allowed my connection with Neil because, like a piece of a puzzle Neil had a purpose to fulfill in my life as I had that same purpose of fulfillment in his life. Timing was a very important factor because when we were in college we had no such connection or attraction. We both had to mature and through maturity, he was able to motivate me, he inspired me and he encouraged me to use the gifts given to me by God. Neil gave life to my purpose which allowed me to experience the power of God in doing things I never dreamed I could do. We did that for each other. Unbeknownst to Neil and a forgotten memory by me, together we gave birth to a 23 year old vision. The seed that existed before I was conceived now continues to grow and fulfill a purpose driven mission. Hallelujah! To God be the glory for the great things He has done! I surely miss Neil and my brother but this gift that God has given me is a gift of knowledge and understanding that draws me closer to Him and the closer I get to God the void left by Neil and Rainer is no longer a void. It is hope and an expansion of territory to fulfill the mission and do greater works through God’s grace and His power. I am passionate about this story because I see the hand of God and how he orchestrates events and seasons in our lives. This is why I am able to say “Never give up on your dreams” and I now know the source of the power that causes me to continue on even when it seems like I can go no further. As stated in Hebrews 10:23, “Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;).” 1 Corinthians 2:9 tells us “But as it is written, Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for them that love him. But God has revealed them to us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.” Jeremiah 29:11 tells us “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” I thank God for allowing me to find that needle in the haystack (a 2 bedroom apartment filled with a lifetime of possessions) because it is confirmation, it is hope, and it proves that what God has for you is for you! Stop fighting and allow God to order your steps! I challenge you to “stir up the Gift of God which is in you according to 2 Timothy 1:6 and “Let all your things be done with charity” as stated in 1 Corinthians 16:14 (KJV). I’ll close with the MSG version which says “Keep your eyes open, hold tight to your convictions, give it all you’ve got, be resolute, and love without stopping.” (MSG 1 Corinthians 16:1314

Sports Stephen Curry and the Warriors Prepare For a Return to the Finals by Lamar Battle After the devastating loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers in last season’s finals, one that saw the Golden State Warriors give up a 3 to 1 series lead (https://issuu.com/theremnantmagazine/docs/january_2016_volume_1_issue_1The first time in Finals history) before falling to the Cleveland Cavaliers the Warriors have made improvements in their quest to win their second NBA crown. The most notable improvement comes in the form of first team all NBA player Kevin Durant who joins the team this season as a free agent. In most circles Kevin Durant is considered to be the second or third best player in the world depending on who you are talking to. The Warriors added Durant after winning an astounding 73 games the season to eclipse the Chicago Bulls all time winning record of 72-10. Adding Kevin Durant to a lineup featuring Stephen Curry ( 45.2 on three pointers 2016-17) and sharpshooter Klay Thompson ( 42.5 on three pointers 2016-17) all but establishes the Warriors as favorites to win the NBA 2016-17 title. More Than A Shooter: One must admit that the Warriors are loaded for sure but when the smoke clears Steph Curry will still be the straw that stirs the drink and LeBron James biggest rival. As fate would have it mis-timed ankle and knee injuries as well as an auto-response ailment afflicting the foot of teammate Draymond Green prevented Steph and the Warriors from capping off a perfect season with a championship in 2015-16. Stephen Curry, always underestimated due to his size 6' 3" and weight 190 pounds has added muscle to his frame over the summer and can now bench press 300 pounds ten times. (The weight training may be a result of LeBron James manhandling him during the Finals). The averages of 30.1 points pg, 5.4 assist pg and 6.9 rebounds pg (2016-17) are impressive enough but consider he was the 2x league MVP, 3x NBA All Star, 2x All NBA first team, 4x three point field goals leader, 2x free throw percentage leader and NBA steals leader (2015). However, taking into account this list of achievements Stephan Curry still has the ability to make his teammates better through example and humility. We should recall that this is the same player who led tiny Davidson University to an Elite Eight birth in the NCAA tournament. Stephan has also made such an impact on the league that more and more teams are adjusting offensive approaches to address the growing trend of increased three point shooting. The NBA boast players that are now more than ever speaking out on the behalf of the under-served while donating to charitable causes. Stephen Curry is no different as he donates three insecticide treated mosquito nets to the United Nations Nothing but Nets program for every three point shot made. Curry has met with President Obama and addressed dignitaries as part of the President's Malaria initiative. The married father of two daughters has left no room for doubt when it comes to his faith as evidenced during his MVP acceptance speech where he said: "People should know who I represent and why I am who I am, and that's because of my Lord and Savior." On some of his basketball shoes Curry has in-scripted "4:31" a reference to Bible verse Phillipians 4:31 which reads, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me". (courtesy Wikipedia). The Golden State Warriors are indeed blessed to have this player, a role model for young people and a great player who is evolving into an even greater leader. “Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.” Romans 11:5 Page 19 of 24

Thanking God for the healing He is providing for Dawn! We ask that you remain prayerful with us for her complete healing. “My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to one’s whole body.” Proverbs 4:20-22
Fabrics of Our Lives When the fabric of a quilter's masterpiece becomes frayed and worn, the quilter takes on the task of restoration. The quilter, like a potter, knows how to make the masterpiece whole again. We are the masterpiece of our Maker and He, the Potter, knows how to make us whole again. He knows the fabrics of our lives. Trust in the Lord to mend the fabrics of your life...

Looking FORWARD “God formed man of the dust of the ground” but in the process of time took a rib from out of Adam’s side and made a woman fit for him according to the Bible (Genesis 2:7). To be fruitful, to multiply, and to replenish the earth was a command that the LORD God gave Adam (Genesis 1:27), but he could not do it alone. In His infinite wisdom, “the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam” (Genesis 2:21). While Adam was asleep, the LORD God performed the first surgery on record when he took a rib out of Adam’s side and made a woman (Genesis 2:22) who was fit for him (see Genesis 2:18). After the supernatural anesthesia wore off, God brought the woman to Adam (Genesis 2:22), who looked at her and exclaimed, “This is now bones of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken of Man” (Genesis 2:23). After the fall, Adam called the Woman, Eve (Genesis 3:20). Eve has a special place in the history of the world in that she was the first woman, the first wife, the first mother, and the first stay-at-home mom. Like Melchizedek, Eve was “without father, without mother, and without descent” (Hebrews 7:3). Eve bypassed childhood and the educational system of her day. She came into the world a grown woman, with the ability to think and reason. After Eve was beguiled by the serpent (Genesis 3:13; 2nd Corinthians 11:3), she became the mother of the living (Genesis 3:20) and thus has the distinction of being the earth’s first mother. After the fall, God used Eve to give birth to Cain (Genesis 4:1), Abel (Genesis 4:2), Seth (Genesis 4:25), and to other children (Genesis 5:4). Due to the wickedness of man, God destroyed the then-earth with a great flood (see Genesis chapters 6-8). After the great flood, God used women to give birth to the great and small, every-day-people, brave and faithful souls, patriarchs, matriarchs, civic and military leaders, elders/tribal leaders, kings/shepherds, queens, prophets, judges, apostles, disciples, pastors, evangelists, and teachers, but more importantly, God used a woman to give birth to the voice of one crying in the wilderness (Luke 1:5-25, 57) and the Savior of the world (Matthew 1:21; Luke 1:26-32). I believe my late uncle and pastor when he asserted that the woman is the reproducing side of the man. Man plants but cannot carry the seed (offspring). According to the Bible, God made woman to be a help meet for Adam and to be fruitful, to multiply, and to replenish the earth. Thus, after the flood, God used Sarah to give birth to Isaac (Genesis 21:1-8), Hagar to give birth to Ishmael (Genesis 16:15), Rebekah to give birth to Esau and Jacob/Israel (Genesis 25:21-26), and Jochebed to give birth to Aaron, Moses, and Miriam (Numbers 26:59). The Self-existing Eternal God used Hannah to give birth to Samuel (1st Samuel 1:17-20), Manoah’ wife to give birth to Samson (Judges 13:3-24), Elizabeth to give birth to John the baptizer (Luke 1:57), and Mary to give birth to our Lord and Savior (Matthew 1:21). Moreover, God used your mother to give birth to you! Eve, however, is not the only woman who has a special place in the history of the world. I rightly believe that ALL mothers and women have a special place in the history of the world to someone. My precious mother has a special place in my heart because God used her to bring me into the world to nurture and love me, for which I am eternally grateful. God chose Mary to be the mother of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, just as he chose Alice Williams to bring me and my brothers and sisters into the world. In the October 2016 issue of The Remnant Magazine, submit articles about a woman who has and is a blessing in your life.
