Dockatot Deluxe+ Pod The Sleepyhead of Sweden brand has recently adopted the brand name of their sister company DockATot. The product designs have not changed nor has the level of quality, safety and care we have come to expect over the years, here we take a look at their Deluxe+ Pod. Firstly it is great for popping in the bassinet, on our bed and even on the floor, it is lighter than a Moses basket and certainly a lot less bulky. The textile of it is so soft as it is 100% cotton and can be machine washed, which is always a huge plus point for any parent. The pattern on samples we received are so cute the Jungle Cat and the Painted Spots, but if this isn’t to your taste Dockatot offer a range of covers to suit all décors.

The main reason we fell in love with the Deluxe+ Pod was that it took my concerns away for co-sleeping, with a little extra security knowing our little one had their designated

space, it was also great for tummy time and playtime.

Dockatot suggest you can even use it as a changing mat too, but I was far too scared to mess up the pretty cover.

The product has so many uses providing a habitat from the womb to the outside world, its a solution for lounging around and playing, nappy changing, tummy time, cuddling and bonding, traveling, supervised rest and outdoor time, it is such a multipurpose product.

The only downside I could find was as she started to roll over, she would get wedged on the side and I would have to take her out to allow her to be free. This particular pod is from new-born up to 8 months, but there is a larger version for 9 months upwards called the Grand Pod so you don’t have to abandon this product once they hit 8 months.

The price tag could be a bit out of reach for some people, but we believe if it helps get baby to sleep it is worth its weight in gold.

Vorwerk VB100 Cordless Vacuum Gone are the days that we have to lump an enormous piece of machinery around the house just to clean our carpets, vacuums are getting slimmer and lighter and I’m not sure we have come across much lighter than the Vorwerk VB100 Cordless Vacuum.

This compact vacuum weighs 3.3kg, it is hard to imagine there is enough power inside it to clean your floors however the rechargeable battery provides an impressive amount of suction. There are three suction modes to choose from with the lowest offering up to 80mins of use, however when using the highest setting you will get about 10mins use.

The range of modes means you can use the Kobold on most types of flooring, the lightweight body makes it easy to manoeuvre around the house, around and under furniture and the floor brush can be activated/ deactivated when needed to conserve the battery life. When used on hard floors it picks up dust, dirt and hair effortlessly, but we were surprised by how powerful it was on carpets, especially with two cats in residence it picked up more pet hair than we expected. When finished the vacuum can be stood up right on its own, no ugly wall mounts or propping it up in a corner.

Unlike many cordless cleaners this one comes with a dust bag, environmentally perhaps not the best option however people who suffer from allergies will appreciate the barrier between them and the dirt. Emptying can get messy if the bag is over filled as the valve can become wedged open, this means some dirt can escape when disconnecting, so it is worth checking on the bag to ensure it isn’t overflowing. The downside to the filter bag means an ongoing cost, although they aren’t too pricey at £18 per pack of five replacement bags. Another thing that sets it apart from other cordless vacuums is the absence of a handheld option, there is a 2-in-1 nozzle for above floor cleaning but the unit remains the same length which makes it cumbersome to hold above your head, it also makes cleaning the stairs a more awkward procedure. If you are looking for a multipurpose vacuum that can be used high and low, on soft furnishing or in the car then this is not for you, the battery life is also something to consider as when the brush head is active it drains a lot quicker, a second battery could help out but will set you back a further £80. However, if you are looking for a powerful, lightweight vacuum for regular cleaning of floors (and have the money to spare) this is a solid option, especially if style is an important factor.

Pulseroll Vibrating Peanut Ball We are all told exercise is good for us, what is often failed to be mentioned is how after a successful workout you can be left feeling pretty beaten up, this can make things awkward when it comes to taking on the next days exercise with super stiff muscles.

A good warm up and cool down is essential for keeping your muscles working at their best and this can include a deep tissue massage. Most of us aren’t lucky enough to have a live-in masseuse so something like the Vibrating Peanut Ball from Pulseroll allows you to work on your muscles yourself. The Peanut comes in Red, Black, Purple or Blue it has the distinct peanut design but with a thicker ridge running around the thickest parts, it weights 780g and measures up at 18 x 7 x 7 cm, making it small enough to pop in your gym bag. There are four vibrating speeds to choose from 2200, 3300, 1500 – 3700 and 4000 RPM, this can be changed with a tap of the button on the peanut or via the remote if it is out of reach. The shape of the Peanut means you can target small areas that need work as well as larger muscle groups, it works particularly well on the glutes, calves and feet, ideal for myofascial release, trigger point therapy, and deep tissue massage. The deep vibrations mean that very little physical pressure is required to gain the benefits which include increased blood flow and oxygen, reduced soreness and muscle pain combined with faster recovery.

When this massager gets pushed up to full RPM it gets loud, if you are using it in the gym you might get a few odd looks, but other than that this is a great workout companion. After a good session with the peanut muscles feel looser, more relaxed, like most things that are good for you it can feel a little uncomfortable at the time but if it means avoiding DOMS it is a small price to pay.

Powerup 4.0 We have all made paper aeroplanes, every now and then we get an absolute corker of a flyer but 9 times out of 10 it swoops and quickly plummets to the floor, but what if you had control of it once it left your fingertips.

Well that’s now possible thanks to Powerup Toys, created by Shai Goitein, a pilot, industrial designer, CEO and founder of this clever little plane. The Powerup 4.0 is the 4th generation of this successful Kickstarter campaign, after listening to feedback from the 3.0 they have upgraded the plane to be even more powerful and intuitive. The kit we received consists of the Powerup 4.0, Paper Airplane Templates, Spare Part Kits, Night Flight Kit, three foam kits from FliteTest, the FT EZ Bug, FT EZ Streak and the FT F22 as well as a Balsa Wood Tornado Updraft 12 Kit. The brains are located in the cockpit, it is here you can connect the Powerup App to the on-board computer and control your plane. The Super Air R Spherical comes with the 2-click removable chin bar, a well-known feature in the Bell helmets, 144grams have been shaved off its predecessor and it is packed with ventilation strips to keep things light and airy. American Tourister At Eco Spinner 4 Wheels £109

The At Eco Spinner from American Tourister comes in three sizes, the 55cm, 67cm and 79cm and in two colours Deep Navy and Atlas Grey, we received the smallest version the 55cm in the Deep Navy designed to be perfect for two day trips.

This bag measures up at 55 x 40 x 20 cm and that’s including handles, wheels, bottom glides, side pockets and other external parts, making it suitable for cabin luggage on many airlines (always check specific airline requirements before travelling). This lightweight bag has a soft construction, weighs just 2.5kg when empty and delivers 40L of storage. There is a TSA approved combination lock for the main compartment with one carry handle located at the top of the bag, however a couple of side handles would be useful when retrieving the bag out of overhead storage.

The telescopic handle sits at two different heights for a comfortable commute, the four ball wheels roll smoothly over flat surfaces but due to their size they are best suited to airports and short walks outside rather than rougher terrains. These wheels are not the quietest either but again it won’t be an issue on shorter trips.

Inside the main compartment there is a small mesh pocket on the side wall, a mesh pocket on the inside of the lid and elasticated compression straps to keep your gear in one place whilst you travel. On the outside of the bag there is a large pocket ideal for tucking in important documents or other things you may need to access quickly, and the small pocket is ideal for keys, a wallet, phone or sunglasses. What sets the At Eco Spinner apart from other luggage is the materials used, with the inner and outer fabric made from recycled PET bottles, in fact it comes with a tag attached telling you there are 24 plastic bottles in this bag. One issue we found was that the bag can become a little unbalanced when fully packed and would occasionally tip forward onto its front when left to its own devices. We loved the colour full design and bright orange details which made the bag easy to spot, it has a minimal design which some might not appreciate but with only 5 compartments you will always know where your belongings are. The biggest appeal is the use of recycled plastic bottles, anything that helps make the world a little greener is a big plus in our books.

Peak Design Everyday Backpack 30L

The Everyday Backpack from Peak Design has been designed around the idea that you might need to access your gear to snap the perfect photo at any given moment, with three quick points of entry.

The Everyday Backpack comes in a choice of 20L and 30L and four colours, Black, Ash, Charcoal and Midnight, (we received the 30L in Black). The MagLatch with four laddered lock points is unlike any closure you have come across before but familiar to those who are fans of Peak Design, the magnetic closure helps pull the lid closed without closing it entirely allowing quick and quiet access to the top of the bag. It can take a bit of practise to recognise when the bag is probably closed and not just attached via the magnet but when you get into the swing of it, it becomes second nature delivering quick, single handed opening and closing. There are two large side loading panels either side of the bag allowing you to easily grab bits out of the bottom of the bag without having to remove things from above, the three configurable FlexFold dividers let you organise the layout for your gear profile, as well as keeping them protected.

There is a dedicated sleeve for up to 15� laptop, tablet, or documents and a variety of internal slip pockets for small items, spare cards and batteries for example. There is a luggage pass on the back panel, a handle on each side as well as one on the top with attractive leather detailing. The UltraZips are waterproof and the 100% recycled 400D outer shell is durable and weatherproof. The padded shoulder straps are attached with axial connection points making it easy to swing the bag around your body for quick access, the bag is comfortable to wear but the generous padding does mean it can get quite warm over longer periods of wear. The adjustable sternum strap can be attached and released with one hand and a padded detachable hip belt is available as an optional extra for better support and stability. If the bag doesn’t offer up enough space on the inside there are plenty of options for external carrying thanks to the versatile tuck-away strap system and the expandable side pockets for water bottles or tripods. All the straps tuck away or are held close to the bag via magnets for a streamlined profile, no dangling straps catching on anything when travelling about. The Everyday Bag is wonderfully versatile with each detail carefully considered to make the life of a photographer as stress free as possible and its stunning design deserves a photoshoot all of its own.

I am a text book case for failing to get anything done when my phone is nearby, I will settle into work and think, oh I better just check my Instagram and before I know it, I’m 20minutes deep into a Pokemon Go Battle. Punkt is a Swiss based company that focuses on producing functional products without the distractions and we were lucky enough to receive three of their phones to test out.

Punkt MP01 The MP01 has be designed to be a distraction free way to remain connected, no Pokemon Go or social media here, deliver only the things you really need and nothing that will steal your focus, with a simplistic operating system.

The are no app icons, animations, or special effects calling out for your attention, there is no internet either, the phrase “I’ll just google that” is often a gateway to falling down a rabbit hole of YouTube videos. The MP01 comes in Black, White or a rather questionable Brown colour, with large, responsive buttons, it can be used to make phone calls and send text messages, there is also a calendar with reminders and alarm clock. The most noticeable thing about this mobile is the battery life, some days I can charge mine 3 times depending on what I’ve been using it for, this phone can give you just under 300 minutes of solid talk time and up to three weeks on standby mode. The slim design fits comfortably in your hand, pocket and bag, it uses a Gorilla Glass screen, (hands up if your current phones screen has a crack in it), it can handle the rough and tumble of modern life, the display and sound quality are faultless.

£295 Punkt MP02 Unlike the MP01 the MP02 has 4G built in, making it more of a bridge between your smart phone and the MP01, when you choose to go online the MP02’s 4G LTE connection can be shared with a tablet/laptop, making it easier to type with than on the smartphone. With a few more steps needed to go online it means you will be conscious about connecting, there will be a reason to go online rather than evade, bore or distract yourself. The MP02 has a similar robust and comfortable design as the MP01 with great battery life and functionality, the buttons are intuitive, the phonebook button allows you to make a call, the text button takes you to messages and you will find the rest in the easy to use menu. The BlackBerrycontrolled workstation adds BlackBerry Secure protection during manufacture. This is a world first, no other nonBlackBerry phone has had this before. The casing has a IP52 splashproof finish, whilst the monochrome+ display is 100% text-based with no icons in sight. The only downside we found to both the MP02 and MP01 is going back to that old school why of texting with tapping each button multiple times to scroll through the letters, however you will be surprised by how quickly this skill comes back to you.

The inner dish sits in a reservoir that wraps around the sides to ensure the heat is quickly and evenly distributed to the food, the cooking feature lets you cook your lunch in the box when you haven’t had time to precook. You can check time until the food is ready on the app, the Keep Warm function will automatically keep the food warm for 30 minutes, ideal if you are running late for lunch. The HeatsBox can be used without the app but you lose out on the full range of settings.

The top of the HeatsBox Pro gets warm to the touch when heating (tested at the highest temperature), this remain comfortable to touch, the base however gets quite hot, almost too hot to handle, it is worth noting the surface you are placing it on before switching it on so as not to cause damage, you wouldn’t want to pop it on your lap to eat from at this temperature. The inside of the lid and the inner dish also get quite warm, a heat resistant edge to the inner dish would help with removing the dish or decanting the food onto a plate. The inner dish lid can be used to store leftovers however it takes a good amount of pressure to get it to close. The HeatsBox Pro could use a few tweaks to make it easier to handle when hot, the app could provide a few more features too like real time temperature feedback. All things considered the HeatsBox Pro is a good way of enjoying fresh, hot and healthy meals on the go, the app is easy to use, the lid keeps the smells in (so as not to upset your work colleagues).

Little Giant King Kombo Industrial Ladder I have to say from the outset that I am an avid DIY woman, I love to be able to do jobs myself and being able to rub my doubting partners nose in it. When I first saw the Little Giant King Kombo Industrial ladder, I thought why is it green, turns out it is constructed from their ‘Patent-pending non-conductive Hi-Viz green fiberglass’ which makes it more noticeable in low light. The colour paired with the curved edges give it a very sturdy and sleek looking finish. The other side of the A-frame set up has straight edges, handy for working in tighter spots like attic access ports and gaps in between stud walls. This being a 3 in 1 ladder it enables you to use it as an A-frame stepladder, a leaning ladder and an extended ladder, this is handy for me as my stairs are hard to navigate a full length ladder up when it’s time to get to my Christmas decorations down (which I am determined to have up

I was happily surprised to find how lightweight it was at about 9kg, however this light weight doesn’t make it flimsy, it is made of tough stuff and the grippy feet provide a stable foundation. There are two other things that really “stepped” out to me, the V-bar grip allows you to work inside corners as well as on the outside of them too, perfect for cutting in the corners whilst the protecting bumper prevents damage to your walls. There is even the space to grip on to most standard poles such as a drainpipe. The 2nd function is their ‘Patent-pending’ Ground Cue, this is a smart signal to alert you that you are on the bottom rung, an initiative safety feature.

This ladder isn’t the cheapest out there but the wide range of features and versatile use means it will be something you turn to time and time again.

Pictionary Air is an absolute riot, as if it’s hard enough to draw something that looks vaguely like it should for your teammates try and do it without being able to see what you are drawing.

By drawing in the air with a special light pen the image appears on players phones or tablets and can even be cast onto the tv. In your mind the image will be obvious although it may look like a bunch of scribbles to the rest of the players. BAM Bamboo Clothing Bamboo is fast becoming a popular choice of materials when it comes to creating more sustainable and eco-friendly clothing, it is well known that bamboo is fast growing but what might not be common knowledge is the wonderfully soft material it produces. We received three items from BAM to test out, starting with the Women’s Zip Neck Bamboo Base layer, an essential item for this time of the year.

Gathered Hem Bamboo T-Shirt This T shirt comes in True Red Marl, Pink Mink Marl, Granite Marl, Deep Purple, Black and Yellow Harvest Marl, looking much more like a fashion top than workout top however it is happy to do both. When it comes to exercise, resistant training, yoga or Pilates are probably better suited than high intensity. The gathered hem creates a flattering look that is tighter at the hip and looser at the waist, great for eating massive meals in and disguising the bloat. It is easily one of the softest t-shirts I have put on, it feels so lovely against the skin and the freer fit means you can constantly feel it moving with your body and keeps things feeling light and airy. So it was not surprising to discover this top used Bamboo Air Jersey which is 160gsm of 68% Bamboo Viscose, 28% Organic Cotton, 4% Elastane, this also provides a UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) of 50+, which blocks 98% of the sun’s harmful UVA and UVB rays. The mini scoop neckline and the short -capped sleeves deliver an attractive profile, this top would even be suitable for early maternity wear. Bamboo fibre is absorbent, which means moisture doesn’t sit on the surface, and it keeps air from getting to odorous bacteria – so you don’t have to wash it so often, which is great for the environment.

It is a tethered system where you attach yourself to the bike via a lanyard ,the air canister is hidden away in its own pocket reducing the chances of scratching your bike especially if you ride a sports bike this was one of the biggest changes from the original turtle air vest. I found it became second nature to attach this just as natural putting on a seatbelt or doing your helmet up, on the rare occasion I would forget I’d realise very quickly that I had done so. The same applies for detaching, the pull on the jacket is enough to let you know you forgotten to unplug, it takes over 30 kilos of resistance to inflate the air vest so would be very hard to step off the bike and inflate the air vest yourself.

If you do accidently discharge your air vest for any reason it’s not a case of sending the product back, you can easily reset the air vest yourself with an Allen key and a new canister. I would highly recommend carrying a spare canister just in case you have to reset air vest.

When it comes to the size of the airbags the outer vest really does out perform any under jacket vest as size matters here, the Helite is approx. 50% bigger than its competitors and all the airbags come with a lifetime warranty.

The Turtle 2 comes in Black, Hi-Viz Yellow and Hi-Viz Orange with the combination of retro- reflective strips makes the rider as visible as possible on the road which adds to the quality of this product.

Kinderkraft Pushchair Prime 2 in 1 I worry about my sanity sometimes as I get far too excited about baby buggies, the little comforts on them and new fandangle ways of using them has become a hobby of mine now and the Kinderkraft Pushchair Prime 2 in 1 was no let down.

This package is a 2 in 1 travel system, it has a carry cot, suitable for new-born age and a seat for when they start becoming more curious. This can be configured in either a rear or forward- facing set up, it includes the adapters for a car seat, but the seat itself is not included in this kit.

One thing that amazed me was the 12 different positions I could adjust the base of the carry cot to, I wish I had this when my eldest was a new-born, as she suffered terribly with colic, and having her propped up would have prevented many screaming walks. The seat can be laid back as well for those lazy Sunday strolls, letting your little one have a peaceful nap. The hood is quite large creating a shady space for child quite well, although I have seen bigger (insert giggle), there is a ventilation window in both hoods for the cot and seat. Safety wise, this is all systems go, the seat has the classic 5-point harness which is quite easy to use, but not too easy for little fingers to work out. The inflated wheels (pump included for top ups) with front and side shock absorbers make for a comfy ride on bumpy terrain.

The front wheels are also lockable so, if your babies are anything like mine, it is really handy for rocking them back and forward to sleep without unintentionally ramming them into the closest sideboard or table. The foot brake is easily accessible for quick pitstops and safety on inclines.

Kimbos I’m not going to lie the first impression of these shorts was what on earth? The massive zip and red pull cord look more than a little daunting, however, there is some serious thought put into these crotchless shorts and it has nothing to do with Ann Summers. If you have ever been caught short during a long run or walk you will know of the discomfort a fresh breeze around your nether regions brings, not to mention the fear that some dog walker might spot your mooning backside from behind the bushes.

These shorts work best without wearing underwear but it comes down to personal preference, with a bit of adjusting underwear could be manoeuvred out of the way if needed. These unusual exercise shorts might have tapped into something rather genius, eliminating one of the pesky inconveniences of loving the outdoors lifestyle.

Whenever I see a host of celebrities endorsing a brand, I usually assume it is because that product doesn’t have the quality needed to promote itself and as a result, I have never been drawn to the Beats headphones.

It is worth pointing out that the Solo Pro comes with a Lightning to USB-A charging cable (included) and this is the only port on the headphones, they are strictly wireless so when the battery is dead there is no option for wired listening. The head band and ear cups are comfortably padded and form a surprisingly effective seal for on ear headphones, even before you switch the tunes on background noise is greatly reduced. The ANC

(active noise cancelling) works impressively and uses real-time audio calibration for a truly immersive sound, I couldn’t even hear myself singing when testing these out (probably for the best) and you don’t have to worry about sound leaking out and annoying people around you. The Transparency Mode allows you to hear the world around you when needed, when both Noise Cancelling and Transparency mode are switched off, the Solo Pro delivers up to 40 hours of battery life.

Regular use provides up to 22hours with just 10minutes charging giving you an extra three hours of playtime.

The Audio Sharing mode allows for two sets of Beats headphones or AirPods to be paired with one iPhone and enjoy the same song or film audio and the integrated on-ear controls allow you to take calls, skip songs and control volume directly intuitively, or simply use the hands-free voice controls to activate Siri on iOS devices. Beats have had a bit of a reputation for having an over baring bass but this is not the case with the Solo Pro, the sound is evenly balanced with clear top notes, but without sacrificing the bass, it makes EDM and Folk music sound equally good. My partner said that these headphones felt a little tight, especially when wearing sunglasses, so it maybe worth trying them on first if you wear glasses or have a larger head (there’s no putting it more politely). I found myself testing these headphones out for much longer than needed, they were just such a pleasure to wear and listen too, come for the noise cancelling and style, stay for the sound and the comfort.

With the overpowering bass issue a thing of the past these headphones are proving to be worth every single penny of their asking price.

Xtend+Climb 3.8m ProSeries S2.0 Telescopic Ladder I had heard some great things about this product and my expectations were very high, I’m not usually easily pleased, but I’m happy to say the Xtend+Climb 3.8m ProSeries S2.0 Telescopic Ladder exceeded my expectations with only one or two draw backs.

The build quality is exceptional with aircraft grade aluminium alloy which provides a robust and reliable structure that you can put your trust in and the safety features are reassuring. As each telescopic section is slid out there are indicators on each step which change to green, so you know it is safely locked in position. The automatic Locking 620mm Stabilising Bar which opens at the foot of the ladder delivers wide and stable foundation, the Wall Pads form a gap at the top of the ladder so you can hold on to the top rung whilst it is against a wall. The Lightning Latch allows you to move and retract the ladder easily.

One of the down sides I found was at 15.5 kg it was quite

heavy to move about but the compact size of 0.9m is great for smaller vans and storing in the shed. When fully extended this ladder can reach up to 3.8m with the option of locking in everyone of the 13 rungs along the way. This ladder offers a max static vertical load of 150kg, the flat treads ensure your feet won’t slip even in wet conditions.

The sides of the ladder are thicker than usual but is still comfortable to ascend and descend and add extra strength, the corrosion-resistant anodised finish makes it suitable for year-round use. When retracting the ladder, it has a no pinch closure system to protect your hands that has been tested to 4000 Cycles and it is in line with the latest EN131-6 Professional (2019) safety standard. The Xtend+Climb 3.8m ProSeries S2.0 Telescopic Ladder is a versatile and robust ladder suited for professional use with the added benefit of being able to fit into the back of a car.
