This year, OUT&about Wānaka is taking Pride celebrations to a fabulous new level, with Pride Week running 11 - 17 November. Last year’s Pride Street Party was a first for Wānaka, and we're thrilled to continue this new tradition of celebrating diversity in our community.
Pride Week 2024 features a Queer Film Fest, the return of the Living Library, Queer Quarterly Reads with LGBTQ+ short stories, Queers and Beers Social, Drag Bingo, Drag Karaoke and Pride Pledge Inclusivity Trainings. The main event, the Pride Street Party, will take place on Saturday, 16 November, kicking off at 12.00pm at the Lake Wānaka Centre. This family friendly community event will host a fashion show, live music, craft and info market, street performers, poetry readings, raffles and more!
When day turns to night, the Lake Wānaka Centre will transform into Pride After Dark, a party with drag, burlesque, DJs, and acrobatics. We'll conclude a fantastic Wānaka Pride Week on Sunday, 17 November, with a Live Music Coffee Morning on our Reflections Stage, creekside at the Lake Wānaka Centre.
OUT&about Wānaka is a not-for-profit run by a dedicated team of volunteers. To help us promote inclusivity and create safe community spaces, please consider sponsoring Pride Week. All funds raised will support youth inclusion projects, community inclusivity training and the development of local support groups.

The game is a great way to meet new people, it is social and fun for all ages. If you can’t bring along your own boules, the club has spare ones.
We have a ramp for wheelchairs, and permanent seating surrounding the Piste. Parking is available beside the pistes, drive in on Grace Wright Drive.
Cat Rescue Wanaka are urging anyone with a cat or kitten that isn’t yet desexed to do so as soon as possible, and to get in touch with them if the cost of having it done is una ordable. Not many people are aware that kittens can reproduce from four months of age, so it’s essential to act before they reach six months. And yes, that includes the boy cats too!
