Today Interiors

the World Of Hospitality

Today Interiors Established in the early 1970’s Today Interiors initially imported specialist textile wallcoverings from highend European mills. The company quickly gained a reputation for innovative collections, distributed on an exclusive basis throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland. In-house design facilities were added in the early 1980’s to broaden the company’s appeal to both domestic and export markets. The resulting collections soon accounted for 95% of sales and established Today Interiors as a leading name in the supply of fabrics and wallpapers to the designer and high street boutique shops. This period saw the company expand rapidly, moving to purpose-built premises in Grantham and, due

to its central location, had direct links to all major roads. Further land was also acquired at this time in anticipation of future growth with the second phase of the build completed a few years later, effectively doubling storage capacity. Customer service is regarded as a key ingredient in the company’s success. All enquiries and orders are dealt with by professional personnel, many of whom have served in excess of 20 years with the company. The Today Interiors product portfolio has been broadened in recent years to include plush highperformance velvet furnishing fabrics from Italy, weaves from Belgium, and designer wallpapers sourced in Europe and the United States. Alongside this, some of our product range includes sheers, Website: www.today-interiors.co.uk

animal prints and faux furs together with designer wallpapers and innovative textile and mica wallcoverings. We have nearly 100 versatile wallcovering, upholstery and curtaining fabric collections which are ideally suitable for domestic interiors whilst their performance, durability, and FR qualities meet the high standards demanded for contract projects. Today Interiors are suppliers to major retailers, commercial clients and national and international hotel groups, leisure, hospitality and restaurant industries plus leading cruise ship lines. Our export markets include the USA, China, South Africa, Scandinavia and most EU countries.

As industry pioneers, Four Seasons and NetJets have been at the forefront of innovation, setting new standards for service excellence and introducing industry firsts for more than fifty years each. The icons are now coming together with the introduction of exclusive travel opportunities available to both NetJets Owners and Four Seasons guests. “The complementary nature of our two companies lays the foundation for a strong global collaboration, combining the power of the NetJets private fleet – the largest in the world – with the renowned culture of service excellence that defines Four Seasons,” says

J. Allen Smith, President and CEO, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. “Four Seasons has always been singularly focused on the luxury consumer – understanding their needs, looking at how they like to travel and recognising opportunities to extend our offering in ways that fit their lifestyles. These speciallydesigned itineraries offer the perfect opportunity for our guests - many of whom are already NetJets Owners - to enjoy exceptional service, flexibility and unmatched access to destinations around the world.” In three uniquely designed itineraries – with each entirely customisable to suit traveller preferences - guests will be transported via a NetJets private jet to Four Seasons destinations, where they will have opportunities to enjoy a series of exclusive experiences. Guests can choose from a winter mountain adventure on the soaring slopes of Jackson Hole and Vail, a tropical escape to the unspoiled Hawaiian island of Lanai, and a cultural immersion in France and Italy. Throughout their journey, air transportation will be arranged by NetJets, while

Four Seasons will provide all accommodations and a dedicated concierge will customise each guest’s local itinerary. Timing of these trips is flexible, and available for parties of up to 14 guests – ideal for families, couples seeking a romantic getaway, or an intimate group of friends travelling together. “This collaboration will open new doors to travellers, welcoming them into a world of access that only Four Seasons and NetJets can offer,” says Patrick Gallagher, EVP of Sales and Marketing, NetJets. “Our goal is to make the impossible possible as we invite our guests to experience exceptional private aviation. The Arch London The Arch London is a luxurious Georgian townhouse hideaway in the heart of central London. The officially rated five star property is a regular resident amongst the top 20 Luxury hotels in the UK on TripAdvisor and has earned the 2017 Forbes Travel Guide Recommended Award. The hotel is tucked away on a calm residential street in Marylebone, a stone’s throw from Bond Street, Hyde Park and the West End, and spans seven Grade II listed Georgian townhouses and two mews homes. Upon entering reception a roaring open-fireplace provides a warming welcome to travellers. The interior throughout is quietly glamorous, boasting marble and glass, and a specially curated collection of art, including a moving art installation illuminating the reception desk. contemporary boutique design, with walls adorned in eye-catching artwork by British talents. A member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World™ and Pride of Britain, the hotel boasts 82 bedrooms including eleven sumptuous suites spread over six floors. Floors are considerately numbered 1, 2, 3, and 5 as the number 4 is considered unlucky in Asian cultures. Spacious interconnecting rooms are on offer for families or larger groups. The hotel is dog friendly with an ethos to treat pooches to the same indulgent experience as their owners, with luxurious dog beds, bowls, and delicious doggy menu cooked to order by a chef. Dog walking services are

Hurlingham Baths

the World Of Hospitality

Hurlingham Baths When looking for inspirational design, whether for a hotel suite or luxury bathroom, it is fair to say that Hurlingham were truly influenced by the rustic chic of the resurgence in industrial engineering and design which led the design process of the Copper Bateau in an antique hammered finish, a statement of robust hand-crafted quality which is designed to stand the test of time. Truly a statement bath which has been hand crafted by copper smiths from two pieces of copper , allowing each undulation and every character mark to be highlighted to celebrate the time-honoured work that is involved in creating the bateau style. Hurlingham offer a range of bateau baths in copper, brass and antique finishes. If there is a colour theme

running through a design, it is also possible to have the exterior of the bateau bath painted and for an extra luxurious finish the interior of the copper bateau could be nickel plated. When considering room dynamics, the bateau can be accommodated in most bathroom designs which require a unique feel as there are several sizes to choose from including 1500mm, 1700mm and even a 2000mm version in all finishes. The Hurlingham range of bateau baths can be painted in any RAL colour or matched to a paint colour of your choice, the Robersons metallic paints are always a good choice as they enhance the copper or nickel finish of the bath, adding another level to the design. If following trends and it is important

Website: www.hurlinghambaths.co.uk

then to paint the bath in the Pantone Colour of the year for 2018, Ultra Violet is also an option. When there are so many options why stop there? Why not take luxury to another level and add a leather finished roll top to the bateau bath, carefully hand stitched by Hurlingham’s in-house upholsterer. Hurlingham are involved in many hotel projects every year and can assist you with technical advice for your project designs. To find out more about Hurlingham or for help with a specification or project we have a team that can offer more information for this service, please contact Corrine Mill at Corrine@hurlinghambaths.co.uk

woka lamps

Woka Lamps WOKA LAMPS VIENNA is a Vienna-based Manufacturer of Iconic 20th Century Lighting Design. Lovers of iconic lamps from the early 20th century were for decades deprived of the possibility of owning some of the most striking pieces by the Wiener Werkstätte and the Bauhaus, which had long fallen out of production. The designers whose work WOKA is licensed to produce read like a who’s who of the Vienna design pantheon. In addition to Hoffmann and Koloman Moser, the manufacturer has reissued striking table, ceiling, wall and floor lamps, as well as chandelier pieces, by the likes of Adolf Loos, Otto Wagner and Carl Witzmann.

A collection of very rare antiques of the early 20th century as well as a large collection of chandeliers from the 18th century until the 1960s is completing the business of the WOKA GALLERY. On request all antiques and pieces of arts are delivered with an expertise made out by a certified appraiser for art and antiques on the commercial court in Vienna. Due to WOKA’s extraordinary achievement, in 2016 the minister for economic affairs and Vice Chancellor of the Austrian Republic Reinhold Mitterlehner, has awarded WOKA LAMPS VIENNA with the right to use the Austrian Coat of Arms in matters of business.

Fraumaier

a Shady character

Fraumaier - A Shady Character You may expect a lot from German design: functionality, straightforwardness or severity but humour isn’t necessarily one of the things that comes into your mind at first. Based in a town next to Stuttgart - the place where Porsche Design invented their 100 Shades of Grey years before E.L James came up with her 50, the lighting company FRAUMAIER is pushing the envelope of how light-hearted German design can be. It started in 2004 when the designer Felix Severin Mack founded FRAUMAIER and named it after his lady pet dog - a fact that might be considered as irritating and not necessarily inspiring confidence but in fact, it turned out to be the memory hook for all his customers - apart from a nice job with the Mosque in

Oman that cancelled its order after finding out. The big names that enjoyed his work overshadow that anyway. FRAUMAIER has furnished the King Abdul Aziz Center of Cultural Heritage in Dubai, the Musee du Quai Branly by Jean Nouvel and hotels like the Marriot and Le Meridian. Observing the playful range of graphic and weightless designs, Scandinavia immediately comes into one’s mind - or as we call it today “the international style” in which FRAUMAIER fits in so well, that even IKEA felt, let’s say “inspired” by one of the products... But what strikes one at first is the colour range. Hardly any other lighting company sets such a high value on colours - not only today but consistently since the beginnings: floorlamps are available in 13 Website: www.fraumaier.com

standard colours from stock, pendants in a range of 40 colours upon request within just a few weeks. This is one of the reasons why the well-known design hotel chain 25 hours is now working on the 3rd hotel with FRAUMAIER lighting. Despite the contemporary appeal the designs carry, you can still feel the tradition behind every one of them. Maybe it’s the sixteenth century house in which the office is located. Every product is an advancement - an “old thought’s new child” that combines familiar aspects with new ideas. Even the technology respects the customers wishes of being able to use old incandescent bulbs or LED retrofit, even revolutionary multi-dimmers are able to work with both. FRAUMAIER - the first “good girl” that gets us a treat.

Bright Goods

Michelin-Starred Chef, Shaun Rankin Illuminates Ormer Mayfair With Bright Goods LED Lamps Leading-edge LED lighting technology complements Art Deco inspired restaurant Specialist LED filament brand, Bright Goods announces the installation of vintage-style LED filament lamps at Ormer Mayfair, the highly acclaimed restaurant by Michelin-starred chef, Shaun Rankin, his first in London. A range of hand-crafted LED filament lamps from the Bright Goods range adorns the restaurant, bar area and private dining rooms creating mood enhancing illumination that complements the stunning Art Deco interior. Shaun Rankin launched Ormer Mayfair within the luxury boutique hotel, Flemings Mayfair, one of the oldest family-owned hotels in London, following the success of his restaurant in Jersey. Bright Goods LED

filament bulbs are integral to the Art Deco, 1930’s inspired interior designed by Tully Filmer. They evoke a traditional British ambience alongside details such as aged oak wood panelling and bold geometric marble flooring. The 85-cover contemporary restaurant follows Rankin’s Jersey theme offering seasonal Jersey produce including fresh lobster, crab, oysters and foraged herbs. The lighting was key to creating the right atmosphere for this prestigious restaurant. Bright Goods LED filament lamps, including Harry, chrome tipped GLS, Elizabeth clear candles, Josephine GLS, (featuring a crown shaped LED filament) and Emma Pygmy lamps in 2.2K very warm colour temperatures, were chosen to complement the design aesthetics of the inspired

interior. The new LED filament lamps are helping to create a warm, cosy glow to the restaurant. Henrik Muehle, General Manager at Flemings Mayfair said, “We are very impressed with the warm appearance of the lamps and as they are fully dimmable, we are able to create an intimate and relaxed dining experience for our guests.” He continued, “We wanted to create a classic, glamourous look to the interior and the lighting has definitely helped us achieve this.” Saima Shafi, Marketing Director, Bright Goods added, “Bright Goods LED filament lamps are designed to replicate traditional bulbs, providing a classic, timeless feel with a touch of the modern, complementing the design and atmosphere they have created at Ormer.”

code locks

Everyone Loves An Upgrade The array of different locks available today can make your purchasing decision confusing. With a variety of features to choose from, how do you know what lock is best for your bar, restaurant, hotel or office? You are likely to need different types of lock for external doors, internal doors, and cabinets. You might also require specific lock features for insurance purposes or to meet building regulations. Investing in new technology is one way to improve your guest’s experience. In recent years technology has had a positive influence on many areas of hospitality management, including applications for access control.

The ability to offer keyless entry removes the hassle of storing, issuing and replacing keys. The audit trail feature allows managers to keep track of when and

within the world of hospitality and leisure. Smart locks are now being used to control door access to meeting rooms and keypad locks to secure service areas and cleaning cupboards.

Better control of access Electronic locks and smart locks have a Master Code and can store multiple Sub-Master codes, allowing house-keeping and maintenance staff to be given their own codes. When a guest leaves, the manager or staff can access the room using their personal code, and delete the guest code at the same time. The door is then locked until activated by the next guest.

Convenience is key Electronic and smart locks are now commonly used in place of traditional key locks because they offer so much more in terms of convenience. Rather than using a key, access is gained by punching in a code on the keypad, using a card or phone.

Similarly, rather than issuing a key for every door where you need to restrict access, you can simply issue a code. Employees can access areas out of bounds to the public without having to carry door keys. Entering a code into the door lock is quick and easy. And if an employee leaves the organisation, you can simply change the door code. Website: www.codelocks.co.uk

Digital door and cabinet locks have many applications

Furthermore, the introduction of the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in May 2018 requires businesses to implement more stringent security measures to protect personal data. This might involve the introduction of encryption software for sensitive information however, providing lockable cabinets to securely store customer information and documents will help to demonstrate compliance. Codelocks’ range of cutting edge locks allow easy upgrade to improve the customer journey, increase productivity and drive efficiency across your business.

BE SMART

UPGRADE DID YOU KNOW?

Codelocks Smart Locks can be easily retrofitted to your existing door lock prep. Yes, it’s really that simple.

GET SMART.

An easy upgrade will transform your door access and allow a greater level of control. The locks offer flexibility and convenience; program, operate and manage locks directly via the keypad, or by downloading the K3 Connect App* on any Bluetooth compatible smartphone, generate and send entry codes for easy access and issue smart cards for alternative entry.

STILL SIMPLE. STILL STANDALONE.

The locks are smart, but they still perform and operate at entry level. Simple access control with a code. The locks offer a full range of benefits that put you in control allowing you to choose the level of usage that is required for your specific needs and application.

In reality, it took a further 2 years for the purchase to finalise and restoration work began in earnest in 2010 and lasted 5 years, finally opening in 2015. In collaboration with a skilled local Architect, the direction of the project was led by the property itself and its inherent architectural features and historic character. A meticulous balancing act of sensitive renovations where implemented using a combination of traditional artisan techniques and hi-tech materials to create healthy, sustainable interiors.

“The best architect was, in any case, the house, or rather the ruin, itself – we really didn’t want to change all that much because there’s a reason for everything having been built the way it was. Our task, rather, was to find out how everything had looked originally and find a way of incorporating high technical standards, in keeping with environmentally sustainable criteria, without compromising the historic appearance. For example, we now have ventilated underflooring, underfloor heating where possible, windows that comply with the very latest energy standards, large rainwater cisterns and even biological sewage filtration.”

Award-winning Chimo Sheffield (Mfg) Ltd is one of the few remaining genuine quality cutlery & tableware manufacturers in Sheffield. One of its well-known brands “Tricketts” of Sheffield” have been supplying the Hospitality industry with quality products since 1880 – over 135 years. As they manufacture in their own factory rather than just import from the Far East they are much more adept & flexible on bespoke patterns and finishes. Whilst manufacturing a wide range stainless steel & silver-plated cutlery they are also the largest producer of the popular cream or black handled cutlery, plus a variety of superior steak knives. The new modular Afternoon Tea stands set a total new standard in quality and adaptability allowing restaurants to change the number of tiers/plates themselves. Award Winner 20162017

Another example of their ability to produce bespoke products are the unique brass menu & drinks boards made especially for Dante’s restaurant in West Village, New York ( recently voted #16 of the top 50 bar/restaurants in the World) So visit the website www.chimoholdings.com, send an e-mail to enquiries@chimoholdings.com, or phone 0114 249 0969 to open a whole new world of cutlery & tableware made here in UK by Sheffield’s own Cutlery professionals.
