What’s there to say about Daytona Bike Week, the BIG Daddy of all bike events, that hasn’t already been said? Riders, loyalist and enthusiast literally from around the world descend on this southern Florida vacation spot for two weeks of sheer motorcycle bliss. No doubt Main Street is the main attraction, but certainly not the only spot with action. There’s the Speedeway, Hooters, WingHouse, Destination Daytona, and the Boardwalk all packed with plenty of action and bikes. Take a quick ride across the river and you’ll discover the “Soul of Daytona Bike Week” on Bethune-Cookman Blvd where Harley-Davidson typically posts up with their Iron Elite outreach initiative. This may not be Main Street, but better believe the heavy weights and baddest bikes always find their way to the Ave. The following photos are just a mere glimpse into this truly epic event of 2 Wheel Joy from baggers to sportbikes and eveything in between. If you haven’t experienced this one yet, do yourself a favor and add this to your bucket-list – a experience all Riders need see and feel to believe.

The highly attended and at times controversial, Atlantic Beach Bike faced more than its share of challenges in 2016. Beyond the typical influx of cages attending a bike event, heavier than usual police presence compared to other bike events, Mother Nature tossed her hat in the mix with Tropical Storm Bonnie literally raining down with torrential down pours. This, however, did not stop the action at Redline Powersports with Team No Limit, a custom bike show sponsored by Camtech Custom Baggers and a special appearance by R&B artist Ricco Barrino. Fortunately, prior to Bonnie dampening activities, sunny skies prevalied for the Uptown Motorsports Baddest Bagger sound competition kept the crowd moving from some of the best sound systems on two wheels.

To say the 2015 IDBL WPGC Bike Fest was exciting would be an understatement. With more than 8,000 attendees and close to 900 racers in attendance it was not only exciting, it was recordbreaking weekend even bringing out DC-native R&B entertainer, the one and only Ginuwine who couldn’t help but to keep a smile on his face with all the excitement taking place. The combination of great weather, sponsor support and well executed event planning surely played a factor in attracting so many fans

that consisted of race fans from the sportbike scene to the bagger world. Oh, and let’s not forget the Stunt Show presented by Throttle Life and Shoe City which attracted some of today’s most talented riders. Renowned Icon Motorsports sponsored stunt rider Kyle Sliger made the trip from Indiana to join in the fun while entertaining the spectators with his amazing 2-wheel acrobatics. The stunt show also included the Bike Life scene with Philly’s The Wheelie Team with BikeLife Chow, Dirtbike Mont, and Mike Miles along with the DMV Bike Life TB Rydaz Team.

The Custom Bike show also presented by Throttle Life brought some of the areas sexiest sportbikes, baggers and cruisers with our family from Myrtle West taking top trophies as well as our own Crystal Dickerson wining best Suzuki category, Jin Grant rolled away with Best Chrome and Tonya “Midget” Thompson took home the Best American Cruiser trophy. We can’t begin to express our gratitude for our sponsors, Harley-Davidson of Washington, DC, Cycle Gear, Mothers Polish and Wax thanks to our partners Automotive Rhythms for contributing to one sexy display of chrome and metal eye-candy.

And there was no shortage of custom bikes not in the show including a caravan of today’s hottest vehicle, the Sling Shot and Myrtle West Customs’ stable of customs that kept crowds of attendees captivated at their tents. Not to be out done by the were records broken on the track and with attendance, the ladies competing in the annual “Paint the 1/4 Pink” breast cancer awareness charity race exceeded their fundraising goal in raising more than $13,000 for Bikers Against Breast Cancer!

Riding Dirty takes you into the DMV motorcycle culture by way of commentary and experiences from riders throughout the various segments of the motorcycle community from independents to Riding Clubs to those in Motorcycle Clubs (MC) with a sense of history from one of DMV’s oldest and most respected MCs, Down-N-Dirty MC with guest commentary from World Champion Motorcycle Drag Racer, Rickey Gadson. Commentary also includes the Maryland State Highway Administration as well as National Capital Park Police and Prince Georges County Police for perspectives from all facets. After two years in the making and unexpected challenges with location property management during the final days leading up

to the initial premiere date, Riding Dirty made its way on to the big screen to a sold audience thanks to United Artists Snowden Square 14 in Columbia, MD, who graciously welcomed the opportunity to host where others were fearful. Director, Rich “Fraser Fraze” Fraser and Executive Producer Anthony “Fifty” Green appeared on #FOX5DC to discuss the film and how they strategically and at times dangerously weave throughout the various segments of the DMV motorcycle community with the same intensity as those that skillfully yet dangerously weave through traffic on our beltway while remaining unbiased without passing judgment towards any segment.

“Today was a showing of love from the Community. I could not have done this without your all and appreciate you sticking with me throughout the stress of getting a theater to accept us” says Fifty.

segments within the timeframe of a documentary” says Wiseguys MC President James “Billy Dee” Price. “Excellent job all around” says Plantinum Rollers President Sean “Black Scorpion” Parker.

Riding Dirty was received enthusiastically by an audience of rousing applause after the final scene with nothing but positive comments from the attendees which male and female riders, independent riders, MCs included Platinum Rollers MC, MD Hill Riders MC, Dueces Wild MC, Platinum Dreams MC, DC Sportbike Riders, Omens MC and so many more. “They did a great job representing so many

Throttle Life had the distinct pleasure and honor to partner with Automotive Rhythms for the world premiere of Straight Outta Compton, directed by motorcycle enthusiast and our Iron Elite brethern F. Gary Gray who has led other notable films such as Friday, Set It Off and The Italian Job. To recreate the neighborhoods of Compton during the reign of N.W.A., Automotive Rhythms literally turned the MICROSOFT THEATER located at L.A. LIVE into a live car scene from Crenshaw Blvd full of hydraulic rides, lowriders, custom candy painted whips, and die-hard fans. Patrons were able to get up and personal with such iconic vehicles represented in the film such as the 1964 Chevy Impala, a 1972 Caprice, two lovely 1959 Impalas, and a host of other beautiful rides with the help of our west coast fam Carlos “Caliboy Cars”. The premiere kicked off with appearances and emotional

speeches from F. Gary Gray, MC Ren, DJ Yella, Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, and Universal executive Scott Bernstein. It was empowering to hear the perspective from each of these pioneers regarding their feelings towards the epic movie and the strategies required for ultimate production. The Microsoft Theater was packed to the gills with industry supporters, entertainers, and media who applauded heavily throughout the well-detailed story line. Immediately following attendees were treated to an exclusive after party on the L.A. LIVE Event Deck to celebrate the release of the monumental film. In attendance were VIPS such as F. Gary Gray, Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, O’Shea Jackson, Jr., Marcellus Wiley, Terrance Johnson, Snoop Dogg, The Game, Pooch Hall, Tyrese, Ving Rhames, Common, The Lady of Rage, Craig Robinson, Scott Bernstein, ASAP Rocky, Tiny Zeus Lister, Marsha Ambrosius, and a host of other key notables.

The Polaris Slingshot hit the ground running when introduced in July of 2014. With relatively few dealerships initially, the mystery and allure of this vehicle spread like no other has in recent years. With the popularity quickly growing, the streets started buzzing with interest captivating consumers across the nation. Feeling this excitement, the promotion team (and Slingshot owners) of Table Boyz & Clean Cash Peezy set out to fuel this movement with the “Slingshot Takeover” giving fellow owners a chance to gather and ride out while giving on-lookers the opportunity to marvel in wonder at this three-wheeled winged sculpture. First up, the DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia) where Slingshot owners descended upon the Nation’s Capital from New York to Atlanta to take part in a group-ride organized by Coleman Powersports via scenic DMV routes. That following Saturday, Slingshot riders took to the streets to explore D.C. while putting on a show for the tourists and locals alike as they cruised the streets in droves. Sunday was the grand finale with all roads leading to “Cities Restaurant and Lounge” in downtown D.C. shutting down the block (with consent) upon their grand arrival lining the streets with custom Slingshots. The Atlanta Motor Speedway, welcomed the “ATL Slingshot Takeover” and enthusiast for a day like no other. Powered by Freedom Powersports McDonough with support from the Bearded Biker Brotherhood and ATL Bike Life and hosted by TV and V103 personality as well motorsports enthusiasts and Slingshot owner Darian”Big Tigger” Morgan. The day kicked off at Freedom Powersports with an open house before cruising out to Atlanta Motorsport Speedway for the main event consisting of demo rides, free track time and a custom Polaris Slingshot show with more than $5000 in prizes awarded in gift cards, cash and accessories including a fresh set of Lexani wheels and gifts from Butler Tires and Wheels. Vendors were also on-site offering an array of after-market products and gifts for the custom show podium winners. Word has it, plans are already in place for the 2016 Slingshot Takewith Miami included. Power to the Takeover! 50 over | ThrottleLife.com

Brought to you by Cigars 210 & 2Wheel Life Radio ThrottleLife.com | 59

Some say the good ol’ days of the DMV bike set is a thing of the past, being a distant, nostalgic memory. If you’re of that mindset, then you missed one helluva galvanizing ride, the Cigar Run to benefit the Armstead-Barnhill Foundation for Sickle Cell Anemia research. Like most rides, this was a call for unity and support. But unlike others, the Cigar Run also promoted and supported local business with registration and kickstands-up from Harley-Davidson of Washington on to Aphelion Cigar Lounge in Crofton, Maryland, then paying a visit to Street Game Performance in Waldorf, Maryland with the final destination of Cigars 210 in Accokeek, Maryland.

60 | ThrottleLife.com

Although ominous clouds lurked overhead with the threat of rain that morning, the spirit of the day’s ride still couldn’t be dampened as evidenced by the volume of the more than 100 bikes that filled the parking lot of Harley-Davidson of Washington with riders ready to roll out with support. The pack of riders continued to increase in numbers with each stop until they thundered into the final destination Cigars 210 like a V-Twin and sportbike powered storm. The Armstead-Barnhill Foundation for Sickle Cell was formed to help raise awareness for this debilitating disease of which there is no cure with 100% of all donations going directly towards funding research at Johns Hopkins Center for Sickle

Cell Research and other leading Sickle Cell researchers, including Howard University. Representing the Foundation was Brian Armstead who shared his personal history with Sickle Cell Anemia and the painful memory of the passing of his sister with a moving expression of gratitude and appreciation for the support provided by the motorcycle community consisting of independent riders and several motorcycle clubs including, but not limited to Kingdom Knights, Platinum Rollers, Sons of Black Caesar, East Coast Busa’s, Platinum Dreams, MD Hill Riders, and MD Rebels Daughter chapter. The community pulled together and raised $1,100 for the foundation in a single day with a check presented by

Doc of Sons of Solomon MC, Bumpy of Deuces Wild MC and Kraig Mak of Ruthless Riderz MC. During the presentation Kraig spoke with pride seeing the turn-out and support from the DMV community and Doc was quick to recognize and point out the complete support of all beyond the Sons of Solomon’s history with the foundation. Afterwards there was a strong sense of pride and joy among those able to participate signaling a revised energy and days ahead. The Kingdom Knights Motorcycle Ministry celebrated their 10th Year Anniversary followed by their 8th Annual Bikers Sunday with hundreds of brother and sister Riders out to join in the celebration. Saturday started off with an exhilarating ride from the Sanctuary at Kingdom Square through southern Maryland. Don’t think just because these are church-folk they ride like they’re going to play Bingo. They got it in (safely of course) onto the day’s festivities at Harley-Davidson of Washington in Fort Washington, MD where participants were greeted with vendors, food and a Bold and Beautiful best bike contest. Sunday’s service welcomed all bikers from all walks of life from independents to 99%’ers and 1%’ers to join in the worship as First Night Pastor Maclin delivered a prayer for the well-being and safety of those in attendance as well as those beyond the Sanctuary’s walls and parking lot. Sunday’s Biker Blessing was very timely as our community has already suffered the loss of love ones, which we respectfully raise our Throttle-Hands up. After the service, in typical smiling and comical fashion, President Hustleman and the “church crew” continued the service outside with a prayer and moving Throttle-Hand up for those that continue to ride-on in our hearts and memories followed by trophies of appreciation for the Most-Represented, Furthest-Traveled on 2s, Furthest-Traveled and more. “Once again The Bikers showed up and God showed out…. We thank God for the bikers that support us and Thank God for using the Kingdom Knights to spread the GOOD NEWS of Jesus Crist.....Amen” - President Hustleman Much respect and continued blessing to the Kingdom Knights! They say when it rains it pours. This was certainly the case with the original ride date for the 2015 DMV March of Dimes 12th Annual Bikers for Babies charity ride as Hurricane Joaquin put a halt on the original ride date thus anchoring the rescheduled ride against other conflicting events and rides in the DMV motorcycle communities. Even with this new challenge, the spirit of the ride could not be hindered as Riders from Coleman Powersports in Woodbridge, VA, Glen Burnie Motorsports in Glen Burnie, MD and Atlantic Cycle and Power in White Plains, MD took to the roads on a beautiful autumn day to ride out and show their support. As the saying goes, with every storm there’s a rainbow. What was challenged by a hurricane gave way to a rainbow of support for those committed to the cause

with raising more than $52,000 – the most raised in the ride’s 12 year history! Congratulations to Dimiatri Vourlos whose tireless outreach efforts earned him the top spot in the Individual Fundraising category with the Omega Ryders doing an amazing job within a short amount time to claim the Top Team category winner. Thank you to all sponsors: Walton, Atlantic Cycle and Power, Coleman PowerSports, Glen Burnie Motorsports, Rider Insurance and Full Custom Tattooing and Body Piercing. To Adrian “Aboogie 301” McQueen, Kwame Olds & K.O. Photography, Maggie “Panda” Dimatuloc of Game 7 Riderz, Jennifer Lee, and Petey Vee for your support from the jump. To Darryl Kinsey for making sure the stealthy Blaque Betty R1 was ready

Despite heavy rains throughout the DMV during the morning and afternoon hours, the DMV Ques of Pi Lambda Lambda Chapter and Omega Ryderz triumphantly pressed on with their annual Poker Run, Fish Fry and Custom Bike Show in support of providing scholarships to graduating high school seniors and supporting their Omega U Youth Mentoring Program while also graciously welcoming Throttle Life’s March of Dimes’ Bikes for Babies fund raising efforts. Even with this challenge at hand, the parking lots of Locust Shade Park in Triangle, VA were overflowing with attendees out support. In addition, Prince William county Delegate Josh King and Potomac District, Board of Supervisors Andrea Bailey. And although the rains did thwart the typically very well attended custom
