As I sit here looking out the window at the two feet of snow just dumped on us, I can’t help get excited about all of the upcoming bike shows. They help get you in the mood for the riding season. I know it doesn’t seem like we will be riding anytime soon, but it is really right around the corner. Daytona is only a few short weeks away. Hubs planned ahead and trailered his bike to my sons house in North Carolina so he wouldn’t have to ride in the snow incase we got some. Boy, did we get some! He has his Gatorskins and he is ready to ride! Thunder Roads Pa is really excited to attend both the Philly Show, March 20,21 and The Gettysburg Show, March 27,28. Make sure you stop by and say hi. There will be a lot of exciting new things to see to make your riding season even better. I want to personally Thank all who have supported and continue to support us. There are a lot of other magazines out there, but ours is truly about Pa Riders for Pa Riders. We encourage you to send in your photos and stories. Please stop in and say “Hey “to those who support us. Check out our B.A.D and let them know you appreciate them helping us keep this magazine alive. I personally want to thank them for supporting us thru the winter and helping us bring the Reader’s and Rider’s, our magazine. Please stop by and say hello at the shows. We really look forward to meeting our reader’s and getting some great new ideas. So, I traded the ride in on a sled for now, to still have a little fun. It won’t be long….that trusty Groundhog knows what he is talking about! “Being happy doesn’t mean that everything is perfect. Noodle’s Tips For The Road
By Mark Lawson
I have been to several bike week rallies including Ocean City MD, Myrtle Beach SC, the Daytona Spring Rally, and of course the local events including Gettysburg Bike Week and York’s Vehicle Operations Open House. If I had to rate them according to riding, exhibits, vendors, lodging, and restaurants they would be as follows. 1. Daytona has great roads the are very bike friendly, and the people there welcome & want the bikers, Florida’s great local fare, and main street is crazy and loaded with custom bikes, crazy trikes, converted auto’s, and of course the differint people. A friend of mine and I went to Daytona in 2009. Our drive started out on that Monday of the rally leaving York, we hit snow when we got to the Glen Rock exit. The snow got heavier and by the time we got to Washington DC, the snow was really coming down and with no plows in sight. Behind my truck was my enclosed trailer carrying my custom Nightrain and my buddies custom Street Glide. Interstate 95 was horrible, not plowed, and deserted. We were driving about 15 mph into what seemed to be a blizzard. Finally Gary (my buddy that was with me) and I decided to get a hotel room because it took us to get 4 hours to get from DC to Richmond. The only place we could find in the middle of the night was a dirty little place along 95. Let me tell you I have never stayed in a hotel like this...Nothing like sleeping with all your clothes on (including your shoes) in fear of what might bite you or latch on. We pulled into this place about 20 miles south of Richmond, 8” of snow on the ground and miserable conditions. It took us 8 hours to get there from York. Gary and I thought we would have been half way to Daytona by now and were actually wondering if this trip would be worth it. Up bright and early the next day, the snow had stopped and south we went!! We finally made it to Daytona about 10 hours later. The first couple of days were in the 60’s, but night temps dropped to the low 50’s. The local’s told us that the October rally has much nicer weather than the spring rally. Anyway, we toughed it out and by the end of the week the daytime temperatures were in the mid 70’s. Daytona has great smooth roads and you can easily put on a ton of miles in a day, Destination Daytona (which is a must see attraction. Check it out at http://destinationdayto-
na.com/), and great nightlife. We spent most of our nights down on Main Street, which is loaded with bars, clubs, eateries, and cool bikes. If you ever have the chance to go to Daytona, do it! without hesitation. In my opinion, it’s the best bike rally on the east coast. 2. Ocean City does a great job for their bike week and I think it’s one of the best bike venues around. It’s close to most of us, the people actually want us there, and for the most part the cops let you slide if your not being to disruptful. 3. Myrtle Beach comes in at #3. Me and four buddies went down there in 2008 and this is what we all thought about that week in South Carolina. The roads were better than average, restaurants were good and for the most part biker friendly. The weather was nice all week and alot of “big name” vendors were their. The biggest negativity was the local people in our opinion. The bikers seemed to be a real “inconvience” to them. The cops were ready to pull you over for any small reason. The city council even made more changes for the rally in 2009 that made it even tougher for bikers. Who needs that crap when your on vacation.. Haven’t been to Sturgis yet, but am trying to go in 2010. To me, from what I read about that rally, the roads are awesome, and the sights are unbelievable. Sturgis really does sound like the “Grand Daddy” of rallies. But the economy sucks, so we’ll see if I get to make it out there this year. Of course local bike events are always fun and we need to support them to make sure they are here for us year after year. Including local bike events, I would also say “Thunder Roads” as well as other local publications, bike nights, and local motorcycle dealers help keep our passion, enthusiasm, and hobby going... I have included a couple photos of my bikes. I am lucky enough to have a 2006 Harley Davidson Nightrain and a 2007 Harley Davidson Street Glide. Thanks for letting me give my opinion.
I am sure everyone has experienced this before, but when you are driving down the road and you get behind Gertie Slowmow, and she is doing 5 or 10 miles under the speed limit what do you do? You naturally slow down. You have no choice, because there is no place to pass. Along comes, hair in the eyes, text messaging, cell phone talking teenage groovy dude, right on your ass. Where does he think you are supposed to go? Does he think you will by some miracle get out of the way and have the Street gods open the roadways for him? I don’t get it! I am a dog and can figure out that if my Mom slams on the brakes with you on the tail, you are riding in the trunk. Gertie isn’t getting out of the way! Time to recheck that driver’s manual! Keep a car length behind and keep your front end!

MARK BOONE JUNIOR began writing, acting and producing theatrical plays in New York City in 1982, and teamed with Steve Buscemi shortly after Buscemi starred in one of Boone’s early productions. The two produced and performed in numerous plays at many of the legendary small theaters, such as La Mama, and clubs that dotted the city during the 1980’s. During that period of time, the two artists developed a unique style of storytelling, adapted a number of plays and authored their own. Boone, a composer, songwriter and guitarist, and Buscemi also played in a band they called The Pawns of Love, appearing at similar venues. Boone moved to Los Angeles around 1990 to advance his career as an actor. He has since appeared in many movies, including Rosewood, Buscemi’s Trees Lounge, The Treat and Cold Around the Heart. He is perhaps best known for his roles in two films by Christopher Nolan, Memento and Batman Begins. He frequently portrays a crooked cop or other authority figure, and has had a prolific career, appearing in over 70 movies, which also include 2 Fast 2 Furious, Get Carter, The General’s Daughter, The Thin Red Line, Se7en, and Die Hard 2. He has also made guest appearances on TV in Law & Order, Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and several other shows. Now he is on a new FX network show Called Sons of Anarchy taking on the role of “Bobby Munson”. Meet Mark Boone Junior this month at the Gettysburg Bike Show as he makes an appearance on March 27. He’ll be signing autographs and taking photos with fans from 11am-5pm for one day only inside the Allstar Event Complex next to the Eisenhower Resort on Emmitsburg Rd. THESE REALLY WORK!!
I checked this out on Snopes and it’s for real! 1. Avoid cutting yourself when slicing vegetables by getting someone else to hold the vegetables while you chop. 2. Avoid arguments with the females about lifting the toilet seat by using the sink. 3. For high blood pressure sufferers ~ simply cut yourself and bleed for a few minutes, thus reducing the pressure on your veins. Remember to use a timer. 4. A mouse trap placed on top of your alarm clock will prevent you from rolling over and going back to sleep after you hit the snooze button. 5. If you have a bad cough, take a large dose of laxatives. Then you’ll be afraid to cough. 6. You only need two tools in life - wd-40 and duct tape. If it doesn’t move and should, use the wd-40. If it shouldn’t move and does, use the duct tape. 7. If you can’t fix it with a hammer, you’ve got an electrical problem. Profile of: Penny Shepherd Age: 45 Marital status: Engaged Occupation: Union painter She has been riding a motorcycle for five years. Currently she rides a Harley Davidson Springer Soft Tail. When she decided to start riding her family was behind her, it was a dream to have a bike, one day her ex-husband bought one knowing she always wanted one, she was upset that he bought one for himself so two years later he showed up with a motorcycle for her. One of the things she likes about being involved in a motorcycle community is how we are like one big family, and she loves the respect. She says, “One of the coolest things about being considered a biker chick is, the men love it for one and it’s nice to be a part of such a growing community of independent women.” One thing that she would like the regular community to know about women motorcycle riders is, “We may seem a little different because we are so independent, but even people in cars passing by will tip their hats or give a nod of respect when they see me riding, I like that. I pick my son up from school on my bike sometimes and he likes that his friends think it’s cool that his mother rides a motorcycle.” “Riding my own bike gives me a feeling that’s hard to explain, it’s like the no other form of therapy. It takes me places in my mind. I am 6’1” but when I ride I feel 10’ tall and beautiful.”

Riding A Motorcycle Thru A Teenagers Eyes March 20 3rd Annual Motorcycle Expo Philly-Oaks, Pa Lehigh Valley MC Extravaganza-Allentown, Pa March 26-28 Axis Of Steel Riverfront Sports Complex~ Scranton, Pa March 27 Winter Bash 2nd Annual-Robesonia, Pa
Most teenagers think of summer as parties, friends and no school. What I think of summer is almost the same thing but on the weekends I trade the swim suit for my leather jacket, helmet and sunglasses to ride a motorcycle with my hero, my dad. My Dad started me riding when I was 8 years old. My first ride was to the empty parking lot in Francis Slocum State Park. I learned all about riding and how to balance properly. That year went on several bike rides to many state parks. The next year was my first official “event ride” the Luzerne County SPCA Run. Seeing all the bikers and the bikes was very cool. I also was surprised when one biker had his dog on the motorcycle with him! We go everywhere from the Catskills in New York to the monuments in Washington, D.C. for an event called Rolling Thunder. Since then, almost every weekend is filled with the roar of motorcycles in the mountains or down by the river. I belong to the organization A.B.A.T.E. of PA Luzerne County Chapter. We also support Stephanie Jallen Paralympic Fund, SPCA, Friends of the Forgotten Northeast Wing ,and many more. I have made great friends and wonderful memories through riding as well as learned the value of volunteering.

News Bytes BIKERS SUPPORT BROWN IN HISTORIC SENATE VICTORY Scott Brown captured the national spotlight in his bid to replace the late Senator Ted Kennedy of Massachusetts, and he is a modern American success story, rising from relative obscurity to be the first Republican in decades elected to the U.S. Senate in the most liberal Democratic state in the country. Paul Cote of the Massachusetts Motorcycle Association joined newly-elected Senator Scott Brown at his victory celebration at the Park Plaza Hotel in Boston following his shocking election upset. The MMA worked with Sen. Brown’s campaign in gratitude for his support of motorcyclists’ legislation over the many years he has served in the state legislature. “Since last September, when the Massachusetts Motorcycle Political Action Committee (MMPAC) supporters started gathering signatures to get Scott Brown on the ticket for the US Senate Special Election, we have knocked on doors, stood outside grocery stores and even ‘hung out at the landfills’ to get Scott elected,” said Rick Gleason of MMPAC. Not only is Brown a biker-friendly politician, but he rides a Victory motorcycle! S.C. SUPREME COURT HEARS MYRTLE BEACH HELMET LAWSUITS South Carolina’s highest court heard oral arguments Wednesday, February 3 over whether a city can require motorcycle riders to wear helmets, despite the lack of a state law requiring the practice. State law doesn’t require riders 21 and older to wear helmets, but in an effort to get rid of two bike rallies held there each year, the Myrtle Beach city council voted unanimously in 2008 to pass 15 ordinances intended to dissuade bikers from coming to town, including the controversial mandatory helmet law for motorcycle riders and passengers of all ages. Justices peppered an attorney for the city with questions over what they seemed to view as the intent of the ordinance -- not to make Myrtle Beach’s roads safer for bikers, as had been argued, but to drive the bike rallies away from the Grand Strand. Representing his brother Bart, who leads a pro-bike rally group of business-owners and is challenging a ticket he received for not wearing a helmet, State Representative Thad Viers argued to the five justices that a state law governing traffic ordinances spells out what local governments are allowed to do regarding traffic laws. Viers filed more than 30 pages of briefs containing multiple sections supporting his various legal arguments against the city helmet ordinance. But Virginia-based A.I.M. Attorney (Aid to Injured Motorcyclists)Tom McGrath, who argued before the court representing 49 helmet law protesters who were ticketed, filed a much shorter brief, saying, among other things, that most of the arguments don’t matter because the city’s ordinance is at odds with state law, and for that reason alone it should be tossed out. “The gist of the city’s arguments is that it has
the right to do whatever it wants to do as long as it declares something to be a public nuisance and decides to abate it,” McGrath’s brief begins. “...If the ordinances conflict with state law, the ordinances are void. If the ordinances are void, their underlying merits are irrelevant.” Now it remains up to the State Supreme Court to decide the issues, and it may take months to render a ruling. McGrath has his hopes up; “Based on the questions the Justices asked the attorney for the City it seems the Court likely will render a favorable opinion for freedom. Hopefully, we won’t be disappointed.” MOTORCYCLE CLUB WILL SEND PATCH INTO SPACE The South Houston chapter of the Los Carnales / La Familia law enforcement motorcycle organization has been given the opportunity to send items into space on the Space Shuttle Mission STS-134 on July 29th this year. It will be the first motorcycle club represented in space. The club has developed a special patch for the occasion. It has Los Carnales / La Familia Nation with both the state of Texas and California on it. INDUSTRY REPORTS BAD YEAR FOR CYCLE SALES 2009 was a bad year for bikes, with the Motorcycle Industry Council reporting the lowest sales in a decade. The MIC noted a 40.8% drop in sales from the 2008 season, with roughly 520,502 bikes sold in 2009 compared to 880,000 that were sold in 2008. The MIC reports monthly sales of most major motorcycle manufacturers, including: BMW, Harley-Davidson, Buell, Honda, Kawasaki, KTM, Triumph, Yamaha, Suzuki, Victory, and the Piaggio Group. The MIC also creates estimates on all non-reporting manufacturers. With non-reporting sales included, the total sales for 2008 was 1.1 million according to the MIC, and though last year’s total hasn’t been tabulated yet, it is expected that 2009 will break a six-year streak of sales above the 1 million mark. The biggest drop in sales occurred in the scooter category. Scooters boomed in 2008 as gas prices reached record highs. As the economy begins to stabilize again, the MIC predicts that motorcycle sales will begin to increase. TENNESSEE “LEMON LAW” MAY SOON INCLUDE MOTORCYCLES Tennessee’s “Lemon Law” may soon be extended to include motorcycles, if the legislature takes action on a measure sponsored by Representative Vince Dean, of East Ridge. Dean says motorcycle buyers should have the same rights as people buying cars and trucks that don’t perform properly. He says any mechanical and structural problems can be more dangerous for motorcycle riders. The measure moved forward in a House Committee in early February, and a companion bill is awaiting consideration in the Senate Transportation Committee.

News Bytes WASHINGTON BILL ADDRESSES BIKER PROFILING In a monumental and historical vote, the Washington State House of Representatives passed HB2511 - a bill addressing “Motorcycle Profiling” - by a margin of 96 to 2. This landslide vote provides an indication that legislators are actually getting the idea that profiling is real and needs legislative relief, while the lack of opposition was seen as a silent show of support from Law Enforcement. During the legislative process, “It was remarkable to hear the legislators mention the organized and well presented information from the motorcycle community,” reports Donnie “Mr. Breeze” Landsman, Legislative Affairs Officer for ABATE of Washington. “Motorcyclists aren’t looking for special rights,” Landsman said. “We want the same rights that are afforded to every other section of the population as American citizens and as citizens of Washington State. We aren’t being given that.” The group found a champion in Rep. Steve Kirby (D-Tacoma) who introduced a bill that would force local law enforcement agencies to adopt a written policy designed to condemn and prevent the profiling of motorcyclists and to institute training to address the issue. It’s illegal to profile minorities, it should be illegal to profile motorcycle riders, the bikers said. The Washington State Patrol uses a training brochure called “Basic Biker 101” that starts with the statement “Bikers are dangerous” and gives instructions on how to gather information about them during traffic stops, according to David Devereaux of the Outsiders Motorcycle Club. To further substantiate their claims of harassment, Devereaux said that when bikers showed up en masse last year their annual “Black Thursday” lobbying day to find sponsors for the anti-profiling bill, state troopers surreptitiously took down all their license plate numbers. Next, the bill goes over to the Senate for consideration and will be assigned to a hearing committee, most likely Judiciary. “This has been a very good year for ABATE of Washington and the US Defenders of Washington,” said Landsman. “We have worked together to make this happen, and are truly on the same page.” OREGON RIDERS CONVERGE ON CAPITOL Motorcycle club members, independent riders and even non-riders alike came together in solidarity in Portland to protect rights specific to bikers. The first “call to action” by the US Defenders motorcycle group brought out over 70 bikes to the Oregon State Capitol recently, making a positive statement of unity between clubs and independent riders. Quiet Mike, the Information Officer for US Defenders said he was pleased with the show of bikes, “It was an excellent turnout, the most motorcyclists we’ve had here for a long time.” US Defenders is a movement formed from within motorcycle clubs from individual states to implement and support motorcycle rights. The grass roots organization is supported through the Confederations of Clubs across the
country, and is composed of state “citizen biker manpower” from Motorcycle Clubs and Coalition of Independent Riders (C.O.I.R) representatives. Quiet Mike, who also serves as Vice-Chairman for the Oregon Confederation of Clubs said this was a well-planned event. “We set up in the capitol so people could come and meet with their state representative or state senator. Several people set up appointments in advance, and they were able to express their concerns about how bikers’ rights are being affected.” Many people were there to discuss helmet laws, others for civil rights where profiling motorcycle club members is concerned, and some brought up that motorcyclist fatalities caused by car drivers should carry more serious charges than just a traffic fine. ADULTS IN KANSAS COULD BE FINED FOR KIDS RIDING WITHOUT HELMETS Adults could soon be fined in Kansas for allowing minors to go without wearing helmets while driving or riding a motorcycle. It is already illegal in Kansas for anyone under 18 to operate a motorcycle without wearing a helmet, but currently it is the youngster who gets a ticket. Under provisions of the new Senate bill, it would become illegal for owners of a motorcycle or motorized bicycle to permit a person under 18 to drive or ride on their vehicle without wearing a helmet, so the adult would receive a citation too. Use of motorcycle helmets has been on the rise nationally, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), which reported that 67% of motorcyclists wore a helmet in 2009, compared to just 48% in 2005. A trucker came into a truck stop cafe and placed his order. He said, “I want three flat tires, a pair of headlights and pair of running boards.” The brand new blonde waitress, not wanting to appear stupid, went to the kitchen and said to the cook, “This guy out there just ordered three flat tires, a pair of headlights and a pair of running boards. What does he think this place is, an auto parts store?” “No,” the cook said. “Three flat tires mean three pancakes, a pair of headlights is two eggs sunny side up and running boards are 2 slices of crisp bacon.” “Oh, OK!” said the blonde. She thought about it for a moment and then spooned up a bowl of beans and gave it to the customer. The trucker asked, “What are the beans for, Blondie?” She replied, “I thought while you were waiting for the flat tires, headlights and running boards, you might as well gas up!” After being married for 44 years, I took a careful look at my wife one night and said, “Darling, 44 years ago we had a cheap apartment, a cheap car, slept on a sofa bed and watched a 10-inch black and white t.v., but I got to sleep every night with a smokin’ hot 20-year-old girl. Now, I have a $500,000. home, a $45,000.00 car, a comfy King size Sleep Number bed and LED/high-def/60 inch Flat-screen., but I’m sleeping with a 65-year-old woman. It seems to me that she’s not holding up her side of things.” My wife is a very reasonable woman. With no hesitation whatsoever, she gently encouraged me to go out and find the hottest 20-year-old gal possible, and she would make damn sure that I would once again be living in a cheap apartment, driving a cheap car, sleeping on a sofa bed and watching a 10-inch black and white t.v. I truly believe the ability to compromise is the reason we’ve lasted so long. (sigh) A couple had been married for 50 years. They were sitting at the breakfast table one morning when the wife says, ‘Just think, fifty years ago we were sitting here at this breakfast table together.’ ‘I know,’ the old man said. ‘We were probably sitting here naked as a jaybird fifty years ago..’ ‘Well,’ Granny snickered. ‘Let’s relive some old times.’ Where upon, the two stripped to the buff and sat down at the table. ‘You know, honey,’ the little old lady breathlessly replied, ‘My nipples are as hot for you today as they were fifty years ago.’ ‘I wouldn’t be surprised,’ replied Gramps. ‘One’s in your coffee and the other is in your oatmeal.
Five surgeons from big cities are discussing who makes the best patients to operate on. The first surgeon, from New York, says,” I like to see accountants on my operating table because when you open them up, everything inside is numbered.” The second, from Chicago, responds, “Yeah, but you should try electricians! Everything inside them is color coded.” The third surgeon, from Dallas, says, “No, I really think librarians are the best, everything inside them is in alphabetical order.” The fourth surgeon, from Los Angeles chimes in: “You know, I like construction workers. Those guys always understand when you have a few parts left over.” But the fifth surgeon, from Washington, DC, shut them all up when he observed: “You’re all wrong. Politicians are the easiest to operate on. There’s no guts, no heart, no balls, no brains, and no spine. Plus, the head and the ass are interchangeable.” I finally got around to going fishing this mornin’ - but after a while, I ran out of worms. Then I saw a cottonmouth with a frog in his mouth, and frogs are good bass bait. Knowing the snake couldn’t bite me with the frog in his mouth, I grabbed him right behind the head, took the frog and put it in my bait bucket. Now the dilemma was how to release the snake without getting bitten - I grabbed my bottle of Jack Daniels and poured a little whiskey in its mouth. His eyes rolled back & he went limp. I released him into the lake without incident, and carried on my fishing, A little later, I felt a nudge on my foot. There was that same damn snake with TWO frogs in his mouth. One morning, before he goes out to the fields, the farmer says to his sweet, albeit ditzy blonde young wife, “The Artificial Insemination man is coming to impregnate one of our cows today. I drove a nail into the two-by-four above the cow’s stall so you can show him where it is, okay?” The Artificial Insemination man arrives. Suzy takes him down the long row of cows until she sees the nail, and tells him, “This is the one. This one right here!” “How did you know this is the cow to be bred?” the A.I. guys asks curiously to the ditzy cute blonde. “By the nail over her stall,” Suzy says proudly. Then the man asks, “What’s the nail for?” Well, duh, I reckon’ it’s to hang your pants on.” A man bumps into a woman in a hotel lobby and as he does, his elbow goes into her breast. They are both quite startled. The man turns to her and says, ‘Ma’am, if your heart is as soft as your breast, I know you’ll forgive me.’ She replies, ‘If your penis is as hard as your elbow, I’m in room 227.

On A Wing And A Prayer Wanted: “Men who want to be Godly husbands and fathers.” Today we hear of men cheating on their wives, leaving their kids and even killing their families. What is going on? Let’s talk about men today. In my ministry of almost forty years, I have seen many marriages end up in divorce. When our nation (our people) turn their back on God and go against the Bible, our nation will fall. TV, newspapers, magazines, etc will tell you that marriage doesn’t have to be between a man and a woman and that having an affair isn’t always bad. That goes against what the Bible says and that is causing the family to fall apart. Colossians 3:18 – 21 says, (18) Wives, submit yourselves (be in harmony) to your own husband as it is fit in the Lord. (19) Husbands, love your wives (be affectionate and sympathetic with them) and be not bitter against them. (20) Children, obey your parents in all things for this is well pleasing unto the Lord. (21) Fathers, provoke not your children to anger lest they be discouraged. Satan is out to destroy the family. He starts out with sex outside of marriage and makes the world think it is ok. Next he throws adultery in and messes up the family. He then says, let the kids do what they want, and be their buddy, not their parent. Husbands are to love their wives and only their wife. Fathers are to be leaders in the home and protect their family. Men, if your marriage is falling apart maybe it’s because you stopped doing the things you did to get her. Remember back to dating days? You did anything to win her heart. You spent time making your car look good, you took a shower and shaved, you smelled good. You were early to pick her up and late to leave her. After you won her heart did you begin to neglect her and take her for granted? Did you stop building the relationship? Think of it this way, if you stop taking care of your
house it will begin to fall apart. Most wedding vows say something like this: “to have and to hold, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish till death us do part.” Men, you took a sacred vow before God when you got married. If you feel like you have failed, just ask for forgiveness from God and your wife and start “dating again.” I have been married to my wife for over 38 years. We have had our ups and downs but I have found that with God first in our marriage, we can overcome anything. I love her more today than I did 38 years ago. Now we come to being a dad. Any man can father a child but can he be a Godly father? Fathers need to have a relationship with their children. In Vietnam there were trip wires and if you didn’t see them you could die. Not only you, but all those around you. Fathers, we need to take the time to teach our children what to look for. Why? Because it is your responsibility! Ephesians 6:4 says, “Fathers bring you children up in the discipline and admonition (training) of the Lord.” Men it takes effort, hands on involvement, rock solid determination, self-denial and doing without to provide stability for your wife and kids. Giving your life to Jesus is the first step. He will help you. Pray for (and with) your wife and kids. Take them to a Bible believing church and LEAD BY EXAMPLE. Again, if you have failed, just ask your wife and children for forgiveness and start being that example. If you are divorced Jesus can still restore relationships. My wife just finished writing a book called, “God’s Word on Sex and Dating.” I highly recommend that fathers get a copy for their teens and single young adults. It will save them a lot of heartache. (find it at Amazon.com) Husbands and fathers – lets rock and roll. Be a rock that they can depend on and be a role model.
