EAGLE RARE BARREL PICK Timuquana has been awarded a barrel pick of Eagle Rare Bourbon! This is possible because of our members’ strong support of our growing beverage program. Harlan Wheatley, Buffalo Trace’s Master Distiller, selected a “honey” barrel exclusively for our membership. Timuquana is the only place in the world to get this whiskey. As our program continues to grow, we plan on organizing trips to Bourbon Country to select future barrel picks at the distillery.

FROM THE PRESIDENT It’s hard to believe that my year of presidency has come to a close. It feels like yesterday that I was taking office on Founder’s Day. I never would have believed the challenges that we would face shortly thereafter, or the number of positive changes the Club would need to implement in response to those challenges. In this, my last letter to the membership, I would like to extend my deep gratitude to the rest of the 2020-2021 Board of Governors and all of the committee volunteers who dedicated their time to providing constructive feedback, reviewing and adapting policies, and creating new programs for the membership. Each April 1, as the members of the Board of Governors rotate on and off, so do the volunteer positions for all of our committees. These positions are vital to the ongoing success of the Club, as they are an important part of the feedback system so vital for our professional staff to continue to improve. If you have a particular area of the Club that you are passionate about, I encourage you to reach out to the chairperson of that committee to learn more about opportunities to get involved. A full list of our committees and chairpersons can be found on the Board Governance page of the Club’s website. Over the last few years, three of our most active committees were Aquatics & Tennis and the House Committee, led by Bill D’Antignac and Mark Higby respectively. As these members roll off the Board, we are thankful for their significant contributions over the last three years, including large scale facility renovations

to the pool, The Grove, Pow Wow Room, tennis courts, and the new LED tennis lighting installation. I’m certain I am not alone in acknowledging that the experience at the pool and on the tennis courts led by Walt Bartman and Matt Bacon and their respective teams have been significantly better than it was in previous years. We are also happy to report that Mark Higby will be staying on as House Committee Chair in 2021. His infinite wisdom in the construction field will aid us in the driving range renovation and interior improvements to the Dornoch and President’s Rooms planned for this summer. I’d also like to give thanks to Chip Dempsey, our beloved past president and First Friday spokesman, for his incredible efforts navigating the pool renovation, Restrictive Use Easement through the Navy, and the upcoming Constellation Furyk & Friends PGA Tour Champions events. These are incredible feats and have set the course of the Club for the future. Lastly, I hope that I have left the Club in a better place than I found it, and I look forward to handing over the reigns to our very capable new president, Mike Muldoon, in April.

With sincere appreciation,

David Loop 2020 - 2021 President

A summary of the survey results are now available online. Once you log onto the TCC website, visit the Strategic Plan & Survey Results page, located on the Board Governance tab. Here you'll also find our Strategic Plan. MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION Our Founder & Honorary Life members will gather in March for the Founder's Day Annual Meeting. GOLF DEVELOPMENT TIMUQUANA LADIES' ACADEMY

TCC Ladies’ Academy continues in April! It incorporates the Operation 36 model, which centers around playing on the golf course. Clinics will take place on Wednesdays followed by Thursday play days. Participants will develop their skills during the Wednesday clinics and then put them to the test during the Thursday play days. To keep the experience fun and reduce the amount of time needed to play, participants will begin by playing 9 holes from 25 yards. No experience or equipment is required. Tuition for the Ladies’ Academy is $100 per month and includes two clinics, two play day events, and access to the Operation 36 app. CLINICS: April 7 & 21 from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm | PLAY DAYS: April 8 & 22 with 9:00 am Tee Times Space is limited so be sure to sign-up today! For more information, contact Jason Smith at jsmith@timuquana.net.

SUPERSPEED TRAINING Adding speed to a golf swing can be an effective way to add more yards off the tee. When golfers try to add swing speed, they typically swing harder, not faster. The solution is “Overspeed Training” and SuperSpeed Golf. Beginning on March 2, golfers will have the opportunity to participate in a 6-week program designed to increase their swing speed. Clinics will take place every Tuesday at 5:00 pm.

Cost is $350 and includes a set of SuperSpeed Sticks (a $199 value). For questions or to register, contact Jason Smith at jsmith@timuquana.net.

2021 PGA Junior League

May 25 to August 1 Ages 7 to 13 PGA Junior League provides boys and girls a fun, engaging opportunity to enjoy golf. Players wear team jerseys and compete in two-person teams against other clubs’ teams. The popular scramble format creates a great environment for learning the game while a shortened course promotes birdies and pars. Registration includes 6-8 matches against other Jacksonville clubs including San Jose, TPC Sawgrass, and South Hampton. Each player will also receive two jerseys and one dozen personalized golf balls. Juniors must be able to walk and carry their clubs for at least three 150-yard holes in succession. The cost is $395 per player and space is limited to 30 players. For more information, contact Jason Smith at jsmith@timuquana.net or 904-389-0477.

TENNIS NEWS Following on the heels of a busy winter, we now set our sights on spring where some of our favorite tournaments and socials return to the calendar, including a revamped member-member and the popular Reggae Social. Spring continues with our ladies’ teams, USTA men’s team, and after school junior programs as well. There is still plenty of time, especially for new members just joining TCC this winter, to play on these teams and participate in our junior programs. Mixed Open Recap In January, we wrapped up The Mixed Open. This year’s play was incredible to watch. All the draws were full. We had 60 total players competing over 3 different divisions. We want to congratulate all the winners. I think the couples that played together are finally talking again! Open Division — ML Potter & Matthew Lichtenstein Champions Division — Amanda Trimble & Scott Hudmon Contender Division — Rebekah Hagan & Richard Corcoran Going Green Tennis is doing its part to help the environment. Have you wondered what those large green containers are hanging under the pavilions? These are ball bins for your used tennis balls. After a match go ahead and drop off your old tennis balls. We then recycle them to keep them out of landfills. We have also replaced all the old white benches with new larger Matthew Bacon, USPTA benches made of recycled Director of Tennis mbacon@timuquana.net plastic from the oceans.

CourtReserve allows you to see real-time court availability, book courts for tennis or pickleball, and signup for events. You can view programs, upcoming socials and events, ball machine availability, and more. This user-friendly program includes a calendar, which can even sync your reservations, clinics, and events to your own personal calendar, updating in real-time and helping to keep things organized. How do I get court reserve? All members have been automatically setup in the system. You will receive a "Welcome to CourtReserve" email shortly. This message will include a hyperlink to help you set-up a password and login for the first time. The following is a listing of some of the next steps to get started. We'll also send out a video tutorial link to help get everyone familiar with the app. 1. You can download the CourtReserve app from the App Store or Google Play Store. 2. Once downloaded, follow the prompts to enter your email and password. 3. After you log in, you'll have full access to all of the exciting features that CourtReserve has to offer.

Click on “Events” and select the option that meets your needs - All Events, Adult Clinics, or Juniors. If you have any questions about CourtReserve please reach out to any of the Tennis staff for assistance. With this new ability to easily have access to the tennis center, we have had to create some new policies that will help ensure that everyone has access to courts, clinics, and events in the fairest way possible.
