Mission Statement
Timuquana will offer its members, their families and guests exceptional social, golf and recreational experiences, which foster enduring friendships and preserve community.
It is hard to believe that summer is right around the corner and soon The Grove, pool, and summer programming will be in full swing. As evidenced by full rosters last year, we anticipate our summer camps to be in high demand again. I encourage you to register your children early to secure their spots.
The level of family interest in the Club on a day-to-day basis has been remarkable to see. Opening The Grove earlier than in prior years shows the popularity of this venue for families with younger children, and the explosion of pickleball has provided a great recreational activity for parents to enjoy with their teens. As an interesting fact, the Club currently has 450 children 16 years of age and younger who enjoy various amenities around the Club, a number that is 25% higher than it was just five years ago.
The month of May marks the reopening of the Tennis Center. I know our tennis community will enjoy the expanded deck, improved front entrance, and more aesthetically appealing restrooms. We believe these enhancements will continue to support the growing interest in racquet sports and our social events.
We are nearing completion of the Men’s and Ladies’ Locker Rooms and 19th Hole. The project is roughly four weeks delayed as a result of a foundation issue in the 19th Hole that needed to be remedied. With the bulk of the structural, electrical, and plumbing work behind us, the locker rooms will really start to take shape as the finishes are installed over the next few months. We have communicated the locker assignment policy through the weekly Golf News email, and it is again highlighted in this edition of The Timuquanan . With nearly the same number of overall lockers we had prior to the renovation, and with demand for lockers likely to increase, the board of governors believed it important to continue with a Founder member priority process as it has done with the popular men’s golf tournaments the last few years. Please make note of the deadlines for submitting an application so we can effectively order the proper nameplates for opening day and give other membership categories an opportunity for a locker should they not be filled by the Founder membership. On a related locker room note, we welcome Director of Beverage & Locker Room Operations Simon Muldoon. Simon has a terrific F&B and member service background from TPC Sawgrass and will help Maurice elevate our locker room service and F&B experience in the 19th Hole and around the Club.
It is a joy and privilege to be your president this year. I am pleased to serve a club that is financially sound, has a moderate waiting list for membership, and has a dedicated staff of professionals committed to making Timuquana the best it can be. Your ideas and opinions on how to improve the Club are of great value, and I encourage you to reach out to me, General Manager Greg Sheara, the senior staff, and the board with your ideas.
I look forward to seeing everyone around the Club this summer.
Respectfully,
Mike Kelley 2024–2025 President

Locker Application Process
MEN’S LOCKER APPLICATION PROCESS
Eligibility
• Founder and Honorary Life members will receive locker priority at initial opening.
• Members interested in a locker must fill out a locker application form, regardless of whether or not a locker was held at the time of closing.
• Founder and Honorary Life members who held a locker at the time of closing are guaranteed a locker at opening, as long as a completed locker application form is submitted by May 17.
• Members in categories other than Founder and Honorary Life who held a locker at the time of closing will not receive a locker post-renovation, unless availability remains per the selection process below.
Selection Process
• Founder and Honorary Life members will have until a deadline of Friday, May 17 to apply.
• The application will include the member’s preference for a full or half locker. *Please note that there will be fewer full lockers, so not everyone who held a full locker before will remain in a full locker.
• Lockers will be assigned by seniority and preference as listed below. All Founder and Honorary Life locker holders at the time of closing MUST complete a locker application form.
• The Club’s staff, similar to golf events, will try to accommodate special requests such as specific locker locations or proximity to other members.
• Those not selected will be placed on the waiting list in order of seniority.
• Selection is based on date of joining and NOT date of becoming a Founder. A Founder applying for a locker in 2024 who joined as a junior in 2014 would be recorded as 10 years seniority.
Other Membership Categories
• Members in other membership categories may request that their name be placed on the waiting list. Should there be no Honorary Life or Founders on the waiting list when a locker opens, priority will be as follows:
• Intermediate
• Junior
• Clergy
• Military
• House Social
• National
• If anyone in the above membership categories receives a locker, they will have the option to occupy the locker for the remainder of the calendar year. Annually in December, Founder members will have the opportunity to submit a locker application form, potentially displacing non-Founder members on January 1.
• Any Founder member, regardless of tenure, will take priority over other membership categories.
LADIES’ LOCKER APPLICATION PROCESS
Ladies interested in a locker should email Greg Sheara at gsheara@timuquana.net. Should there be more demand than lockers available, the same priority process as the men’s will be implemented.

Tennis Tip
From Shaun Zemanek
When To Re-String Your Racquet
Tennis pros are often asked how often a racquet should be restrung. A good rule of thumb is the number of times you play in a week is the number of re-strings that should be done in a year. For instance, if you play three times weekly, aim for restringing three times annually or approximately every four months.
Additionally, the tension of your strings significantly impacts your on-court performance. Higher tension provides better control, whereas lower tension creates more power.
If you need your racquet restrung, stop by the Tennis Pro Shop and we’ll be happy to assist you and answer any questions you may have.

Experience the healing benefits of NormaTec Compression Therapy, now available in the TCC Fitness Center!
What is NormaTec Compression Therapy? Backed by doctors and years of research, the NormaTec Pulse Recovery System uses biomimicry and rhythmic inflation and deflation patterns that emulate natural muscle pumps. Acting like a deep tissue massage but with scientific enhancements, this system will soothe your arms, hips, and legs.
What Are the Benefits? Compression therapy offers many benefits by increasing circulation and lymphatic drainage, which aids in faster recovery. You can expect increased joint mobility, reduced swelling and muscle soreness, improved training, and maximized performance. Compression therapy can also help athletes warm up before a big event or an intense workout.
What is a Session Like? Compression therapy sessions last 30 minutes and feel like a very tight squeeze that works its way up the chambers of the device. We recommend you wear comfortable yet tight-fitting clothing to your session. Loose clothing can bunch up and become uncomfortable as the device compresses.
Cost: $15 per 30-minute session. To schedule a session, contact Tracy Markley or Kelvin Jones at 904.387.6700.
