Timuquana’s cocktail program is proud to launch its newest creation – a 3 part series of barrelaged Buffalo Trace manhattans! Currently aging in a newly charred 10-liter barrel is a cocktail of Buffalo Trace, Carpano Antica Formula Vermouth, Luxardo Syrup, and Black Walnut Bitters. A total of 3 batches will be bottled from this barrel, with each being aged for varying amounts of time. Batch 1 will be aged for 30 days, batch 2 will be aged for 45 days, and batch 3 will be aged for 60 days. Each batch will be the exact same recipe allowing you to experience the effects of the time spent in the barrel. We will bottle and seal the cocktails in 375 ml bottles for you to enjoy anywhere you’d like. The series is limited to 20 participants due to our aging capacity. Cost is $120 and you will receive a bottle from each series. Batch 1 is anticipated to be ready in mid-March. To reserve your spot, contact Matt Harrington at mharrington@timuquana.net.

FROM THE PRESIDENT It’s hard to believe my year of presidency has come to a close. It feels like yesterday that I was taking office on Founder’s Day. It has been a challenging but rewarding year with a number of successes along the way: a successful opening of the new Pow Wow Room, renovation and expansion of the Practice Facility, and an overwhelmingly positive experience with the inaugural Constellation Furyk & Friends PGA TOUR Champions. All of this and the outstanding experience we have at Timuquana has also resulted in creating a significant wait list for membership, a testament to the investments we made and our membership for your support. In this, my last letter to the membership, I would like to extend my deep gratitude to the rest of the 2021-2022 Board of Governors and all the committee volunteers who dedicated their time to providing constructive feedback, reviewing and adapting policies, and creating new programs for the membership. Each April 1 as the members of the Board of Governors rotates on and off, so do the volunteer positions for all our committees. These positions are vital to the ongoing success of the Club, as they are an important part of the feedback system so vital for our professional staff improvement. If you have a particular area of the Club that you are passionate about, I encourage you to reach out to the chairperson of that committee to learn more about opportunities to get involved. Over the last few years, two of our most active committees were Finance and Greens led by Mike Kelley and Bill Hardaker respectively. As these members roll off the Board, we are thankful for their significant contributions over the last three years. In Finance, Mike

4 | M A R C H /A P R I L 2 0 2 2

successfully finished ahead of budget in operations two of the three years, and flat to budget the other. On the capital side, he successfully managed over $13mm in capital investment. The Greens Committee accomplished a lot during this time as well. Bill successfully governed the development of the new Practice Facility and spent considerable time developing the Golf Course Master Plan, bringing it to fruition this year. We are also happy to report that Bill Hardaker will be staying on as Greens Committee Chair in 2022 to see the Golf Course Restoration project through to opening. I’d also like to give thanks to David Loop, our beloved Past President, for his incredible efforts navigating the Coronavirus Pandemic and Pow Wow renovation project. These are incredible feats that have continued to build on prior-year leadership in creating a great culture for the Club and positive member experiences. Lastly, I hope that I have left the Club in a better place than I found it. I am a big believer in “inter-generational fairness," meaning balancing short- and long-term needs and the effects of both. I hope you feel I’ve achieved that fairness in my year as President. As I turn over the reigns to Jim Thompson, I cannot express my thanks to you all for your support this year. I will never forget it! With sincere appreciation,

Michael Muldoon 2021 - 2022 President

GOLF SHOP, HALLWAY, AND RESTROOM RENOVATION Beginning Monday, April 18, the Club will begin work on upgrades to the Golf Shop, Heritage Hallway, and the hallway restrooms nearest the Golf Shop and Pow Wow Room. In addition to the aesthetic upgrades, and as part of the Club’s Centennial plan, the renovation will include new golf champions boards, new perpetual trophies, and the addition of more golf and Club historical photos and mementos. The hallway will also include a commissioned oil on canvas art piece by famed golf course artist Lee Wybranski (to be unveiled as part of the Centennial celebration events in February 2023). During this time, the hallways will be periodically closed. For those dining in the Pow Wow Room and in need of restroom access, we encourage men to use the men’s locker room via the 19th Hole, and for ladies to utilize the Fitness Center restrooms on the lower level. Additionally, during this time, the Golf Shop will operate out of the President’s Room. We anticipate these areas to reopen simultaneously with the opening of the golf course in late August.

WELCOME NEW MEMBERS

Please help us to welcome some of our newest member families to the Club!

MEMBERSHIP & MARKETING Initiation Fees Increasing April 1 Our initiation fees are expected to increase on April 1, 2022. A chart of the proposed new fees is listed below. The Founder and Honorary Life Members will vote on these fees at the Founder's Day Annual Meeting in March. If approved, the new rates will go into effect on April 1. Initiation Fee Impact: Current Members Current Junior and Intermediate golf members who are simply aging up to Founder will not be impacted by these changes. They are locked into the rates they were presented at joining. Any members currently paying their initiation fees on an installment plan will also not be impacted within their current plan. All other current members who wish to transfer to a new category, such as House Social to Founder, National to Founder or House Social, or any other membership transfer, must do so by March 31, 2022 in order to qualify for our current initiation fee rates. Once initiation fee rates increase on April 1, current members who request a transfer are subject to the new initiation fees, as well as any transfer fees or policies.

Initiation Fee Impact: New Members As a reminder, prospective members are not locked into initiation fee rates at the time of application, but are subject to the fees in place at the time in which they are officially invited to join. Prospective members who are officially invited to join the Club by March will be granted the current initiation fees. Those who are still on the wait list as of April 1, 2022 will be subject to the new fees upon invitation. New Member Applications Prospective members are still encouraged to apply for membership. Applications are held in the order in which they are received, securing a 'place in line' on the preliminary list. Once a date becomes available, prospective members will be invited to attend a Board Meet & Greet Cocktail Reception.

GOLF NEWS The first two months of our golf course restoration have gone incredibly well. Thus far, Mother Nature has been on our side as we have only lost one day of work due to rain. We are happy to say that the infrastructure work including drainage, irrigation, cart paths, and the coring out of our greens have been successfully completed. This means that we will be able to sprig the Bermuda grass for the fairways and greens throughout March and April as scheduled. Be sure to read Golf News every Friday which will continue to include course updates and pictures. The golf course is still considered to be a construction zone so please do not access the golf course without being accompanied by a TCC staff member. As a reminder, the time changes on Sunday, March 13. Beginning on this date the driving range will be available for use from 8:00 am–7:00 pm, except for Sunday and Wednesday evenings when the driving range will close at 6:00 pm to allow the outside staff to clean pick the driving range. The new south end practice facility will close every evening at 6:00 pm. We are delighted to see the excitement and the use you all have for the south end of the range. As a reminder, individual and group instruction take precedence at the south practice facility. Please be considerate as to not disturb your fellow members receiving instruction. We greatly appreciate your patience during the course closure. We are confident that you will enjoy the changes that are being made. Please do not hesitate to contact the Professional Staff if you would like to take a tour to see the work that has been done.

SPA NEWS

Joyce's Table Food for Thought: Muscle Knots

What causes muscle pain, stiffness, and knots? Common causes of muscle pain, stiffness and knots include dehydration, recent exercise, inflammation, anxiety disorders, arthritis, poor posture, stress, health issues, poor diet, excessive alcohol consumption, sedentary lifestyle, and side effects of medications — to just name a few. Massage is highly recommended to release the muscle fibers, flush out toxins and bring in fresh blood and oxygen. During a massage, the stress hormone cortisol is reduced, and several “feel good” chemicals are released (endorphins, oxytocin, dopamine, and serotonin). We customize our massage therapy based on your specific needs. Your treatment may utilize a wide variety of modalities including prenatal, Swedish, deep tissue, myofascial release, sports, stretching, trigger point, reflexology, and craniosacral therapy. If selected, CBD, Biofreeze, and arnica gel are available to help alleviate pain and swelling. Before and after receiving any type of massage, you should always drink plenty of water! A good rule of thumb is to divide your body weight in half and drink that much water in ounces. If you’re participating in activities that can cause excessive sweating, more water is needed. To book an appointment with Joyce, please visit: www.vagaro.com/thespaattimuquana
