FROM THE GENERAL MANAGER The holiday season is upon us again, and soon the Club will be adorned with Christmas decorations. From Thanksgiving to New Year’s, you will find a wealth of program and special event offerings for one and all, highlighted by with the return of our annual Open House on December 1. Please take the time to enjoy this edition of the newsletter and all it has to offer. This is also the time of year that the staff enjoys the warmth of the membership’s generosity through the annual Christmas Fund. This wonderful Club tradition means a great deal to all of our employees, whether they have been with us for a short time, or as you will see below, for several decades. Additionally, this year our holiday giving solicitation included a voluntary donation to the new Timuquana Cares Employee Foundation, a 501(c)(3) tax deductible organization. As of the writing of this, I am proud to announce that through the mailing and additional donations, the Fund will launch January 1 with funding of $12,795. These funds will be allocated for employee and employee family scholarships, as well as aid to our staff in times of financial crisis. As tradition, we will take the opportunity at our annual Employee Appreciation Party on January 17 to recognize staff who have reached significant milestones of employment at Timuquana Country Club. Below are the names, along with their years of service, of the 2021

recipients. Please be sure to thank them for all of their hard work and dedication over the years! Lamar Jefferson 20 Veronica Absher 10 Willie Clark 5 Matthew Harrington 5 Jerome Rivers 5 James Sapp 5 Johnnie Saxon 5 Mark Zimmerman 5 Lastly, it is with a heavy heart that we announce that Rodger Adams will be retiring from TCC after 16 years of exemplary service and dedication. Rodger’s last day will be December 31. The Club will be hosting a cocktail reception for Rodger on Tuesday, December 7 from 5:30 to 7:00 pm in the 19th Hole. We welcome members to come and wish Rodger well in his retirement. On behalf of the Club staff, thank you for your generosity this Christmas season and for your support all year long. We hope you enjoy the many Club offerings available to you this winter.

Greg Sheara, CCM General Manager gsheara@timuquana.net

EMPLOYEE FOUNDATION COMMITTEE VOLUNTEERS The Timuquana Cares Employee Foundation, Inc. has been organized as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. As such, the Foundation’s Board of Directors, consisting of professional staff Greg Sheara and Kelly Woody, and members Mike Muldoon, Mike Kelley, and Eric Mann, need to establish independent committees for its two primary functions: (1) Scholarship Grant Selection, and (2) Hardship Relief Grants. The Scholarship Grant Selection committee will consist of three (3) individuals and must be completely independent from members of the Club. We have several members either in the field of education or who have friends and colleagues in the industry. The Board of Directors would love assistance in reaching out to people in our community who may want to participate on the committee for next calendar year. Of similar structure, the 4 | N OV E M B E R / D EC E M B E R 2 0 2 1

Hardship Relief Grant committee will consist of a member of the current Foundation’s Board of Directors, plus two additional individual participants. The two additional participants on the committee may not be a primary, voting (Founder, Honorary Life) member of the Club, but can be the spouse of a non-Founder/non-voting member. If you have an interest in participating, know of anyone who might be interested in being involved, or have additional questions, please email Greg Sheara at gsheara@timuquana.net. You may also visit the Timuquana Cares Employee Foundation page on the Timuquana website, located under Club Governance, for the Foundation’s Bylaws, Articles of Incorporation, Scholarship application, and other supporting materials.

MEMBERSHIP & MARKETING Membership Cap & Wait List As a reminder, the Club is currently on a wait list with the overall membership capped at 1100. Interest in Timuquana continues to soar, with inquiries and applications coming in consistently. Currently, our wait list for most new applicants may range 15-18 months or more. The actual wait time may be longer or shorter based on several factors including variable monthly attrition and applicant prioritization as noted below. Do we have more than one wait list? Many current and prospective members have asked if there a separate wait list for each category. There is only one wait list, and all categories of membership are subject to this list. The only difference is that some categories are prioritized per our Bylaws. The Bylaws dictate prioritization as follows: (1) Founder; (2) Legacy; and (3) Reinstatements, followed by all other categories of membership. This means that these three groups of applicants will receive some priority on the wait list, and for scheduling of a Board Meet & Greet date. Please be aware that this prioritization can cause some movement of other applicants currently

Dr. Austin & Dr. Alicia Fischer (Junior)

Sponsors: Dr. Paul Fulghum & Michael McCullough

on the wait list, which may also extend wait times. Fully approved applicants or their sponsors are always welcome to contact the membership office for an update on their estimated wait time. These wait times are only an estimate and cannot be guaranteed. Due to movement on the list, exact order number or placement on the list is held in confidence. Wait List Movement We have continued to see movement on the wait list, with 10 new members invited in September for an October 1 start date. After these invitations, there are 26 members officially on the wait list, with another 54 applications received and held at various steps of the process as of late October. We’re still accepting applications which are held in the order in which they are received to await an available Board Meet & Greet date. Applicants are officially added to the wait list once they complete the full process for approval. Initiation Fees With the ongoing growth of the wait list, please note the timing of invitations to join the Club and the initiation fees that

Carol Pottenger & Michael Condon (Founder)

Sponsors: Ryan Trzasko & Chelsea Hamilton

will apply. Applicants, once fully approved and placed on the wait list, are not locked into the initiation fees or dues at the time of application. They are instead subject to the initiation fees and monthly dues & fees that are in place at the time in which they are officially invited to join the Club. The Founder and Honorary Life Members will vote on proposed new initiation fees at the Founder's Day Annual Meeting in March 2022. If approved, the new rates will go into effect on April 1, 2022. Any members still on the wait list at that time will be subject to these new fees upon invitation. Full membership information, along with current and proposed new rates, is available on our membership site at www.timuquana.net/discover. If you have questions about the membership process, need assistance with your membership, or would like to sponsor a new member, please feel free to contact me at any time.

A LOOK BACK AT THE INAUGURAL CONSTELLATION

FURYK & FRIENDS

In early October, Timuquana served as the host site for the inaugural Constellation Furyk & Friends PGA TOUR Champions. This exciting new event, launched by the Jim & Tabitha Furyk Foundation, included an innovative approach to golf with a PGA Tour Champions Tournament, ProAms, champion's breakfast, charity concert featuring Darius Rucker and Scotty McCreery, and a celebrity challenge with David Duval & Lynn Swann taking on Annika SÖrenstam & Ozzie Smith. Champion Phil Mickelson claimed the top spot, winning for the third time in four starts on the PGA TOUR Champions. He scored a 4-under 68 with a two-shot victory over Miguel Angel Jimenez in the Tournament on Sunday. As a result of the community's participation and support of this spectacular event, the Foundation will be donating $1mm+ to local charities. In addition to providing an exciting new experience for members and friends, the Tournament highlighted Timuquana on a National scale with television coverage daily on the Golf Channel. Attendance far outpaced initial estimates, with over 12,400 spectators on Saturday, and 8,600 on Sunday.

Jim & Tabitha Furyk (Getty/PGA TOUR)

Timuquana will be celebrating the winners of the event by displaying a replica of the tournament trophy with each year's winners in the Club's trophy cases alongside our replicas of the 2002 US Senior AM and 2019 USGA U.S. Women's Amateur Four-Ball trophies. As we look ahead to next year's tournament, we're exploring ways to enhance the overall member experience, including reducing course and amenity closures leading up to tournament week. Constellation Furyk & Friends returns to Timuquana October 3-9, 2022 - we hope to see you there!

GOLF NEWS We’ve had an amazing fall for golf at TCC, and it began with the playing of our inaugural Iqua Member-Member tournament. It was a great weekend for golf and fellowship. Thank you to our 86 competitors for playing in this exciting event. Congratulations to Chris Solomon and Dugan Murphy as they defeated Parker Touchton and Stewart Knight on the final hole of the shootout to become our inaugural Iqua champions!

will be Sunday, January 2. The anticipated time frame for the course to be closed is January 3 – August 31. During this time our course architect, Bruce Hepner, will lead a renovation that involves new greens, fairways, irrigation, drainage, cart paths, and some tree removal. The renovation and upgrades promise to enhance your playing experience. For more details involving the renovation plans please visit the Club website.

We also had an amazing week for our inaugural PGA TOUR Champions Constellation Furyk & Friends. It was a surreal week seeing numerous Hall of Fame players and some of the greatest players to ever play the game, compete at our course. It was certainly a historic week for our Club and one we should all be proud of. We look forward to another exciting and fun-filled week next fall as Phil Mickelson comes back to Timuquana to defend his title next year!

In preparation for the renovation, Alan Brown and his team will spray the fairways with an application that will kill all the Bermuda grass. This process will take place on November 22. From this date forward the fairways will begin to turn brown and die, just as the driving range did this past summer prior to the range renovation. We are aware that this will not create ideal playing conditions, but this is a critical step that must take place prior to the renovation. Please be aware of the course conditions as you plan to bring guests in December.

Please remember that Daylight Savings time begins Saturday night. Beginning Sunday, November 7, the Golf Shop hours will be 7:00 am – 5:00 pm. We host our Member-Member November 18–20. The golf course will be closed to noncompetitors November 18–19, and the first tee will open at 1:45 pm for member play on November 20.

We have received great support from area Clubs for golf reciprocity during our renovation next year. The core of our reciprocal play will be Tuesday – Fridays, with some Clubs allowing for reciprocal play on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. TCC members will have reciprocal arrangements with the following area private Clubs:

The holidays are upon us. The Club will host our annual Open House on Wednesday, December 1. The Golf Shop will host its annual Christmas Sale on this day from 2:00–7:00 pm. All items in the Golf Shop will be discounted. Beginning December 2, we will begin our 12 Days of Christmas Sale. Please pay attention to future Club communication as to what items will be on sale for the 12 Days of Christmas. We look forward to a great holiday season at the Club, please let the Professional Staff know how we can help with your Christmas gift purchases.

As a reminder, all Golf Shop credit will expire after December 31. The Christmas sales will be a great time to take advantage of great savings and using your credit. As a reminder, our golf course renovation is quickly approaching. The last day the course will be open for play

Due to the course closure, there will be 12 weekly clinics during the winter semester. The cost for the semester is $360 per child. Ages 4–13. For more information or to register, contact Jason Smith at jsmith@timuquana.net.

TIMUQUANA LADIES' ACADEMY Our Ladies’ Academy will continue in November with a slight change. Instead of two clinics and two play days, we will host 4 clinics. These clinics will take place each Wednesday from 12:00–1:00 pm. The cost for this program is $100 per person. In December, we will return to the previous schedule of two clinics and two play days per month. Clinic dates are Wednesdays, December 1 & 15. Play day events are on Thursdays, December 2 & 16. Tuition for December is $100 per person. For more information or to register, contact Jason Smith at jsmith@timuquana.net.

Come hang out on the putting green and get tips from the pro! You’ll also have the opportunity to learn new drills and fun games. All you need to do is show up with your putter and golf balls. These clinics are complimentary.

SPA NEWS

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 18 6:00–7:30 PM | ST. JOHNS BALLROOM Timuquana Country Club and Amara Med Spa are partnering to host a private event! Members will learn about the services and products offered by both The Spa at Timuquana and Amara Med Spa. TCC’s Spa Director, Joyce Palamar, will be discussing TCC’s new services and products and Amara Med Spa’s aesthetic providers will be discussing advanced, nonsurgical aesthetic rejuvenation treatments. An expert injector will also be performing a live Botox and filler demonstration. Complimentary consultations will be offered and each TCC member will receive an Amara Med Spa gift card! This event is complimentary and includes hors d’oeuvres, wine, and champagne. To register, contact the Concierge at 904.388.2664 x. 100.

NEW SPA DIRECTOR: JOYCE PALAMAR Joyce Palamar now leads The Spa at Timuquana. Her desire to help others heal using massage therapy and stretching originate from her own experiences with scoliosis and injuries from dirt bikes, horses, and car accidents. These methods helped her avoid pain medication and surgery.

Massage Therapist and Esthetician

After deciding to leave the corporate world, Joyce graduated in 2006 from The Florida School of Massage in Gainesville and graduated in 2017 from the Alpha School of Massage as a Facial Specialist & Esthetician. While there, she trained in facials, waxing, microdermabrasion, microneedling, dermaplaning, and chemical peels.

Joyce believes that we “keep our issues in our tissues” meaning we hold on to the emotional, physical, and mental stressors in our body. Massage therapy can help break down scar tissue and release the tension of these built-up stressors. She believes self-care is crucial for our mental, spiritual, physical, and emotional health. For more information about The Spa, visit https://www.timuquana.net/thespa. To book an appointment, email thespa@timuquana.net or visit www.vagaro.com/thespaattimuquana.
