Mission Statement
Timuquana will offer its members, their families and guests exceptional social, golf and recreational experiences, which foster enduring friendships and preserve community. 4 | NOV EM BER/ D E C E MB E R 2 02 3
The holiday season is upon us once again and the Club will soon be adorned with Christmas decorations. From Thanksgiving to New Year’s, you will find a wealth of programs and special event offerings for one and all, including our Annual Open House on Wednesday, November 29. Please take the time to enjoy this edition of The Timuquanan and all it has to offer. This is also the time of year when the staff enjoys the warmth of the membership’s generosity through the annual Christmas Fund. This wonderful Club tradition means a great deal to all of our employees, whether they have been with us for a short time or, as you will see below, for several decades. Additionally, this year, our holiday giving solicitation included a voluntary donation to the Timuquana Cares Employee Foundation, a 501(c)(3) tax-deductible organization now in its second year. As of this writing, I am proud to announce that through the mailing and additional donations, the Fund has now raised $67,629. These funds will be allocated for employee and employee family scholarships and aid our staff in times of financial crisis. Through our members’ generosity, we have been able to expand our scholarship program to include a spring scholarship opportunity in addition to our fall program. As is tradition, we will take the opportunity at our annual employee appreciation breakfast on November 22 to recognize staff who have reached significant employment milestones at Timuquana Country Club. Below are the names and years of service of the 2023 recipients. Please be sure to thank them for their hard work and dedication over the years! Employee

Tennis Tip From Zach Goldberg
Taking control of the net is an excellent way of controlling the point, being aggressive, and putting your opponents under pressure. It takes time away from your opponent and gives them much less space to hit into. This forces them to go for riskier shots like passing shots down the line or lobs.

The last two months of the year are filled with family, friends, food, and other fun holiday activities and events. During this time, we encourage you to continue exercising consistently to keep the winter pounds at bay. A great way to accomplish this is to track your biometrics using the Tanita scale in the Fitness Center. It is a bioelectrical impedance machine that analyzes your body composition through fat percentage, fat-free mass, fat mass, muscle mass, total body water, basal metabolic rate, and overall metabolic age. For the most accurate results, staying hydrated and measuring yourself on the same day and time each week is recommended. We look forward to working with you during the holidays!
Cupping Therapy
In order to keep our bodies in peak physical condition, it is imperative to rehabilitate our muscular and circulatory systems so they operate in unison. Cupping therapy is a great way to do this, and primarily aims to promote myofascial decompression of tight or “stuck” muscles in our bodies. When the body’s level of physical activity increases, it undergoes periods of stiffness, soreness, and other types of physical discomfort. Cupping alleviates this discomfort by allowing blood to circulate more efficiently to our muscles and organs. It also has the benefit of deteriorating scar tissue, promoting healing, and maintaining optimal health and wellness. Cost: $35 for 15 minutes, $65 for 30 minutes. For more information or to book an appointment, contact Amy Cunningham at acunningham@timuquana.net or 904.388.2664 x. 149. You can also book appointments on the TCC website or in the TCC Mobile App.
Massage for Golfers
Did you know that massage can have many benefits to a golfer’s game? It can help with range of motion, flexibility, posture correction, reducing pain, and preventing injuries. Timuquana offers several massage options that provide these benefits and more! For more information or to book an appointment, contact Amy Cunningham at 904.388.2664 x. 149 or acunningham@timuquana.net.
