Adding speed to a golf swing can be an effective way to add more yards off the tee. When golfers try to add swing speed, they typically swing harder, not faster. The solution is “Overspeed Training” and SuperSpeed Golf. Beginning on October 12, golfers will have the opportunity to participate in a 6-week program designed to increase their swing speed. Clinics will take place every Tuesday at 5:00 pm.

Friday, November 12 at 7:00 pm

Cost is $350 and includes a set of SuperSpeed Sticks (a $199 value). For questions or to register, contact Jason Smith at jsmith@timuquana.net.

FROM THE PRESIDENT As we welcome back members from much-needed family vacations this summer, we are excited to unveil the improvements we have been working on the last few months. The Dornoch and Presidents Rooms received a cosmetic facelift and audiovisual conferencing upgrades, and have reopened for private events, larger a la carte dinner parties, and Treehouse childcare on a more regular basis.

towards the team have no place at TCC. We reiterate these values to ensure that our culture and mission of providing excellent amenities and services reach all of our members, from those who have been members for many years, to those who’ve just joined our TCC Family. We expect all members to reinforce these values to their children and guests when visiting the Club and enjoying the many activities we have planned this fall.

The main tee of the driving range, practice area, and #9 practice green opened on August 31, and we anticipate the new rear teaching area to open in mid-October. I would like to commend Alan and his team, along with MacCurrach Golf Construction, for their hard work during extremely difficult weather conditions throughout the entire project. The golf course has received nearly 32 inches of rain since June, equal to 75% of the Club’s historical annual total!

Lastly, the inaugural Constellation Furyk & Friends PGA TOUR Champions event has started to build out its infrastructure around the course, and in just four weeks, we will get to experience great championship golf and terrific hospitality. I encourage all members to get involved in the excitement as a patron or volunteer. It should truly be a fun event for the entire family.

As activity around the Club increases this fall, the Board of Governors would like to communicate the importance of the Club’s mission and core values that make being a member and a part of the staff enjoyable. Our core values are honesty, integrity, decorum, and respect towards all. These values are at the heart of what makes TCC a home away from home for members and staff, and something the Board takes very seriously. Our staff, who strive to deliver the TCC experience every day, must be treated with mutual respect. Harassment and improper interactions

As always, I love hearing feedback on the various areas of the Club to improve the membership experience, so please feel free to reach out with your valuable input.

With sincere appreciation,

Michael Muldoon 2021 - 2022 President

MEMBERSHIP & MARKETING Membership Cap & Wait List As a reminder, the Club is currently on a wait list with the overall membership capped at 1100. Interest in Timuquana has never been higher, and membership inquiries, referrals, and applications continue to come in at a steady pace. Our wait list has grown to just over a year, with most new applicants expected to have a wait of 12-16 months. The actual wait time may be longer or shorter based on several factors including variable monthly attrition and applicant prioritization as outlined in our Bylaws. Fully approved applicants or their sponsors are always welcome to contact the membership office for an update on their current position on the list, or an estimated wait time. Wait times are only an estimate and cannot be guaranteed. We are seeing movement on the wait list and have already invited 9 new members to join - with 4 joining in August, and 5 invited for a September 1 start date. After these invitations, there are 29 members officially on the wait list, with another 39 applications received and held at various

Cliff & Bernye Ayer (Founder)

Sponsors: John Fraleigh & Rocky Fraleigh

steps of the process as of late August. We’re still accepting applications which are held in the order in which they are received to await an available Board Meet & Greet date. Applicants are officially added to the wait list once they complete the full process for approval. Board Meet & Greet Updates As part of the application process, all prospective members are required to attend an in-person Board Meet & Greet cocktail reception. To ensure a meaningful experience and thorough Board vetting process, these events are limited to eight (8) prospective members. With the continued growth of the wait list, the Board is spreading out the scheduling of these events to allow for attrition off the wait list. With this in mind, they will not hold a September Meet & Greet, and have scheduled an October date which is currently full. Initiation Fees With the ongoing growth of the wait list, please note the timing of invitations to join the Club and the initiation fees that

Lt. Col. Chris & Molly Rattigan (Founder) Sponsors: Michael Fellows & James Lanier

will apply. Applicants, including reinstating members, once fully-approved and placed on the wait list are not locked into the initiation fees at the time of application. They are instead subject to the initiation fees and monthly dues & fees that are in place at the time in which they are officially invited to join the Club. The Founder and Honorary Life Members will vote on proposed new initiation fees at the Founder's Day Annual Meeting in March 2022. If approved, the new rates will go into effect on April 1, 2022. Any members still on the wait list at that time will be subject to these new fees upon invitation. If you have questions about the membership process, need assistance with your membership, or would like to sponsor a new member, please feel free to contact me at any time.

GOLF NEWS I hope that everyone had a fun summer and that you were able to enjoy some time with family and friends! We had a wet but great summer for golf. With much higher than average rainfall for the summer months, we still produced a record number of rounds during that time. Congratulations to our 2021 Junior Club Champion, Ryan Letterly. Ryan was able to hold off Andrew Sharkey and Ronan McDonald by two shots to successfully defend his title. We are proud of the great sportsmanship, character, and humility displayed by our juniors throughout the championship. Thank you to all of our competitors for playing, and congratulations to our 2021 Champions: • Timuquana Flight Champion – Addy Vogt • Fairway Flight Champion – Beckham Cummings • Little Fairway Flight Champion – Mark Rattigan We are now one month away from hosting the first annual Constellation FURYK & FRIENDS PGA TOUR Champions. Please be aware of the following dates as we approach this event: • September 14: Beginning on this date we will be cart path only until the start of the event. Weekend morning cart policy will also be waived during this period. • September 28: This is the final day the course will be open for play to allow for final preparations. • September 28: This will also be the final day for members to take their golf bags from the bag room as well as have all men's and ladies' lockers cleaned out. The Georgia vs. Florida football game will be played Saturday, October 30. This is certainly a busy and exciting weekend for golf at TCC. Please observe the following golf rules for this weekend: • Tee times will be required for all rounds Friday – Sunday, October 29-31. • Tee time request forms for this weekend will be available two weeks prior beginning October 15. • Guests may play anytime on Friday & Sunday, and anytime after 10:30 am on Saturday. • Saturday and Sunday will be limited to non-resident & family guests only. • All groups with two or more guests will be required to take a forecaddie. 1 2 | S E P T E M B E R /O C TO B E R 2 0 2 1

As we approach our golf course renovation, which will begin in January 2022, you will receive emails about our reciprocal golf program. While we have reached agreements with various clubs in the area, we are still working on the details with other clubs, and we will communicate the final information to you in the coming weeks. Also, in preparation for the renovation, Alan Brown and his team will apply their first chemical application to the fairways on November 22. This application will kill the Bermuda grass in the fairways to prepare for the renovation. After this date the fairways will begin to turn brown in color, and the lies in the fairways will start becoming very thin. Please be aware of this as you consider scheduling golf during December. We look forward to an exciting fall at TCC. Please let your Professional Staff know if there is anything we can do for you.

During the closure, our Tennis Center will become the media staging area. All lessons, programming, team matches, and social play will resume on Tuesday, October 12. Our junior programming and all seven of our ladies’ league teams really ramp up in September. After a very productive summer of practice, lessons, and match play, we feel these are some of the best-prepared ladies’ teams we’ve had here at TCC! Both of our USTA men's teams are also going strong as they are right in the middle of their seasons. It will be a busy time of year here in tennis as we host up to 9 league matches a week in September and October! We’re excited to offer a full slate of junior programming this fall. Our popular After School Junior clinics are available Monday through Thursday. For more information, visit the Timuquana website or contact our Tennis Center at 904389-4332. Watch your Weekly View and Tennis News emails for an announcement on upcoming dates soon. The Tennis Center was "totally rad" back on August 20 as we hosted our All Out 80's Social. Everyone was dressed up in their best 80's attire while we played some fun tennis with a killer throwback soundtrack. Over the next two months, our tennis social calendar will take little a break to allow for the Constellation Furyk & Friends tournament and our robust calendar of programming. The biggest event of the season is right around the corner — our 2021 Tennis Member-Guest! This year’s event will be hosted November 12-14. The party is fantastic, the outfits are stylish, and the play is some of the best we watch all year!
