Tinley Park-Park District has an established behavior policy relative to inappropriate behavior. Inappropriate behavior is defined as that which disrupts a recreation program/activity and which requires a class instructor/ staff member to call for a stop of the behavior due to its effect on other participants or on the instructor's ability to conduct the program. Such behavior may call for immediate and/or permanent dismissal of the individual from the program. Additional rules may be developed for individual programs/activities as deemed necessary by the staff.
Photos And Videos
Participants or their parent/guardian (if participant is under 18) permit the taking of photos, audio and video tapes during Park District activities for publication and use as the Park District deems necessary.
Volunteers
Volunteers coach youth athletes, assist recreation staff in preparing for events and provide support at numerous activities and events. In whatever capacity, volunteers add a special touch to the Park District. We appreciate you all beyond measure! Go to tinleyparkdistrict.org to complete a volunteer application.
Special Thanks
We are grateful to School Districts 140, 146, 228 and 230 for the use of their facilities in helping us to provide recreational activities to the community. We also thank the local newspapers and businesses for publicizing Tinley Park-Park District special events.

Young Rembrandts Preschool Drawing
Let your preschooler “fall” in love with our lessons. Just like the rainbow our youngest artists create in the month of September; we cover a colorful and pattern-rich spectrum of subjects. We soak in the warm colors of the season as we draw a radiating sun face. We are careful not to get tangled up in our patterned spider web we draw in October! With the coming of the winter months, we draw and celebrate with a nutcracker that takes his job very seriously. All these (and many more exciting lessons) while we enhance our fine motor skills, learn to stay on task and follow directions and learn the critical thinking skills so vital in the classroom!

Kidz Theater presents The Jungle Book
By Vera Morris
Come hear the incredible tale of Mowgli, a young boy raised by wolves. With the help of his friends — the bear Baloo, the panther Bagheera and the python Kaa — Mowgli learns the ways of the jungle. Some of the jungle boy’s adventures are gripping, like the time he encounters the hooded cobra who guards the treasure vault in the Deserted City. Others, like the coconut-tossing monkeys who take him prisoner, are hysterical. But the jungle is also dangerous, for it is the home of Shere Khan, the man-eating tiger who has vowed to destroy Mowgli. With his fawning jackal follower, Shere Khan plots to take control of the jungle. Mowgli must use all his strength and courage to stop Shere Khan before it is too late. This faithful adaptation is extremely simple to produce and rehearse. It will enchant your audiences and have everyone cheering when Mowgli declares, "I am Mowgli, Keeper of the Law and Guardian of the Jungle!"

Children’s Theater presents Break A Leg
By Eddie McPherson
Trudy, new to the theatre scene, has just been hired as stage manager for an upcoming play at a small community theatre. The problem is Trudy is inept, clumsy and more than that, she's a jinx. The cast agrees that Trudy is a modernday gremlin who is cursing the show and that she must go once and for all. So, why doesn't the director fire her? Because Trudy is the theatre owner's only niece. Realizing that throwing her out isn't an option, they resolve to de-hex her instead in order to make the theatre a safe haven once again. An old book of theatre superstitions is brought in and the reverse-the-curse shenanigans and laughs begin.

Fill out a Volunteer Coaching application on our website or at the Rec Center. We offer voluntary certification courses making a head coach eligible for registration discounts. Contact Ron Woodworth, Athletic Supervisor, at (708) 342-4208 for complete details. Thank you.

and IL/MI Canal Tour
The Lemont Area Historical Society Museum is a fascinating place, beginning with the very limestone with which it is built. We learn about the early settlers in the area, hear stories about the colorful days when the Illinois & Michigan Canal was new and limestone quarrying was the area's biggest industry and view a 20-minute “Marble Valley” video about limestone quarrying in the area. After the museum tour, we enjoy lunch at a local restaurant for a plated meal. Then we go to the gazebo on the canal, near the end of the new Heritage Quarries parking lot, where our guide leads us on a walk along the Illinois & Michigan Canal. On the way to view three quarries, we learn about the construction and use of the I&M Canal, see the ruins of a brick kiln and hear about the quarry industry and workers.
