The Noarlunga Line

On July 21 Leon Bignell visited the Seaford Rail Depot to welcome Adelaide's first A-City Class 4000 electric railcar. Two more of these rail cars will arrive shortly and will be used for intensive ontrack tests and evaluations starting next month. The Noarlunga line will be operational later this year and electric train services are expected to commence between Seaford and Adelaide early next year.

Leon recently returned from Europe where he held discussions with the five most influential decision makers in the cycling world and lobbied them to keep the Tour Down Under in South Australia. No decision will be made until after a review of the international cycling calendar but they were left in no doubt about the importance of the Tour Down Under to South Australia.
