PARALLEL REALITIES One reality or many?

When I was a little boy, I built several tree houses throughout the vast park across from my childhood home. I shared some of these abodes with friends, others I kept as a secret, individual re-treat away from the “crazy adult world,” and still others as a place to feast on the bounty that we ghetto kids had “requisitioned” from local fruit and vegetable gardens. Each treehouse had its own ambience and character. No two were alike. Although at the time I did not realize what my young psyche was practising, I now know what it was. I was bored with the stultifying oppression of the Boston (Roxbury) ghetto experience. My body-mind-spirit had generated a lifestyle that allowed me to migrate and transport myself freely through a variety of different “realities.”

In the process of hypnotherapy, it is possible for clients to experience a wider range of the spectrum in a safe and secure environment. They can then re-member to live their daily lives more fully.

There are a number of common symptoms which characterize people who have difficulty moving between different parts of the spectrum. For example, they may “compartmentalize” or isolate one part of themselves from another part. They may also have “a fear of getting in because of a fear of getting out”. This, of course, leads them into a situation of “nothing ventured, nothing gained”.

If the range of how fully a person is living is measured on a spectrum where zero (0) is not having any life at all and one hundred (100) is fully living, then most people would fall into the boring but secure 40 to 60 range. Many people are afraid to go outside of this limited range because of the possibility that they may experience pain. Their lives are governed by that old adage, “The higher you go, the further you may fall.” However, to fully experience life, it is essential to travel up and down through the full range of this spectrum. It seems that you cannot experience bliss without experiencing “the pits.” If you experience “heaven,” chances are you will

The Silver Lining

Understanding that my mind had great potential, I started to practice meditation. Now I know that meditation’s effect may be felt immediately, but that the practice of meditation is actually preventative and regularity will generate deeper positive shifts. Meditation is a long-term project.

The effects are transformative and positive when understanding the basic principles well. Hypnotherapy has its advantages; it is a different modality; it is quicker, but once you have reached your objectives, you can move on to the regularity of meditation, if you so believe.

e live in a very different world impacted by restrictions and some levels of isolation. This is a challenging time for most of us as we went from socially active to living in limited conditions, experiencing a completely new paradigm. We now need to adapt to a very different life, and changes are known to be amongst the most important cause of anxiety. To be confined ads a definite level of complexity, and undeniably it can be very challenging.

The silver lining may be that we have extra time. This extra time can be an invitation to learning how to balance our lives and handle stress. It will help us to live with greater ease and presence, for now, but also in the future, as it is preventative. Ancient sages, in philosophical texts that are supposed to be around 4,000 years old, have explored the potential of our mind and developed principles which are sound even today.

Our mind is our most precious resource. We have the ability to be happy or unhappy, to be positive or negative, focus or not, using this very competent and powerful mind of ours. But how to use this mind of ours at our advantage? We spend much time taking care of tasks, but do we forget to take care of our very own mind? Our overactive mind makes us distracted; we also experience a tunnel vision, and forget the very precious present moment, a fleeting moment, a moment that we may miss in the future.

When I started meditating, over 40 years ago, I was fascinated by the idea that I had a mind but didn’t know much about it. I was told that to make my mind more focused and still would provide me with the ability to be present and understand myself. It made sense, as I started to realize that I spent a lot of time being busy, too busy, and felt vulnerable inside.

Follow the Science by: Ian Prattis

T

he coronavirus pandemic has devastated our planet. Health officials appeared every day on TV news providing protocols such as social distancing, wearing masks, hand washing and reducing contacts. However, their directions were often ignored by considerable populations who insist on their freedom to do whatever they wish, particularly with the economy. The balance between government and population was often seen by them as oppressive.

Scientists do not yet know the full nature of the virus – its effects on the body and just how lethal it can be to different populations.

Any nation decimated by such a disease cannot expect to have a functioning economy, partly due to the damage that occurs to both mental and physical health.

Science is in a race to create workable vaccines. Vaccines usually require years of research and testing, yet in 2020 scientists embarked in record time to create safe and effective coronavirus vaccines.

Phase 1 trials involve testing in a small group to see if it is safe and effective. Phase 2 involves a larger group and involves various potential doses. Phase 3 trials are a final stage before getting approval – safety, efficacy and optimal dosing all scheduled to involve 30,000 people. There is good news. Pfizer and BioNTech have developed a coronavirus vaccine and claim that it is 94 per cent effective. They have U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval for use. However, there is an important consideration. Pfizer’s vaccine requires extremecold storage, as it needs to be kept at minus 70 degrees Celsius (-94F). It is based on synthetic mRNA to activate the immune system which requires the frigid cold storage. This cold chain makes delivery particularly challenging. The logistic issues of this requirement preclude many countries in the world from receiving the vaccine, as it will spoil at normal refrigeration temperatures. The minus 70-degree Celsius requirement of Pfizer disqualifies delivery of the vaccines to rural areas and poor nations that are hit by surging infection counts.

Other vaccines have Phase 3 studies by a number of companies.

Moderna Inc, a biotech company, is the second to report vaccine trial results with 30,000 volunteers. It claims that its vaccine was 94.5% effective in preventing the COVID disease. Moderna has an advantage over Pfizer, as it requires freezing at -4 degrees F and is safe in conventional freezers whereas the Pfizer vaccine required storage at -94 degrees F. The vaccines developed by Moderna Inc are aiming to the temperature of a regular refrigerator. The Astra Zeneca/ Oxford company are right behind and their vaccine was described as an effective, strong immune response, particularly for older

individuals. Their trials were 13,000 people in the UK and 60,000 around the world. Novavax, based in Maryland, are also in the race.

At the same time there was a roll out in India of the COVISHIELD vaccine from manufacturers in Pune, India. They had partnered with US based Novavax. With these new results, followed by other companies, eleven COVID – 19 vaccines were tested in large scale Phase 3 trials around the world. There are now 260 COVID vaccine candidates being tracked by the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

In the US, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s top infectious disease expert, stressed that the upcoming COVID – 19 vaccines are safe and effective. He added that African-American scientists had a strong part in developing the vaccines. He was acutely aware that many Black and Latino Americans were hesitant to take the vaccine, having felt systemic racism that damaged them. These announcements, however, offered much needed hope to the world and provided some light at the end of the tunnel. There can be no returning to before until COVID – 19 vaccines are made widely available to the population. It may take some years for normal life to resume.

Thankfully, the President in America followed the science – Joe Biden has organized a new COVID Task Force as his first presidential task. There is hope.

DO YOU MISTAKE THIRST FOR HUNGER?

hen it comes to weight gain, people often think that when they are hungry, their body is actually craving for water. When we do not drink enough of it, our body receives mixed signals on hunger. As drinking water contains chemicals, our body does not like it, therefore we tend to not consume nearly enough.

Dehydration causes us to believe that we need to eat when we really need liquid intake. A large segment (75%) of the North American population suffers from chronic dehydration. North Americans have weak thirst sensation for water that is mistaken for hunger, making weight gain a major health issue.

Factors that further dehydration, include: ● availability of cheap, plentiful and low-quality foods and calorie-counting beverages. Processed foods, refined grains, preservatives, sugar take more water to metabolize and flush out ingested toxins; ● low quality of municipal water treated with fluoride that causes weight gain and depression; ● alcohol and coffee reduce melatonin, decreases memory enzymes, causes DNA damage and affects brain functioning; ● medication in general, and Psychiatric drugs in particular sucks water out of brain that is essential for neurotransmitter functionality, and ●

Food allergies culminating in high Histamine levels.

All of which further exacerbate the situation, leading us to consume food while our body craves for fluids, thereby contributing to weight gain.

All waters are NOT created equal, as most waters available on the market including bottled water and water purification systems is dead water. This dead water is loaded with damaging free-radicals and has acidic component – all of which fosters dehydration. It is, therefore, essential that we use the right quality of Live water that is micro-clustered, electrolyte-reduced and hydrogen-enriched. This electronically-charged – a free-radical scavenger water – fosters optimum hydration. Additionally, the common wisdom that salt is NOT good for our consumption is false as our body needs the essential minerals contained in a teaspoon of salt daily. Consumption of the common iodized salt is not good for consumption as it contributes towards dehydration. On the other hand, the right type of salt such as Himalayan Salt or unrefined Celtic (grey) salt facilitates rapid hydration of our cells.

Given the important role water plays in our lives, especially concerning weight gain, knowing the quality of water we drink is an essential first step on the road to our optimal physical, emotional and mental health.

Water has become the most misunderstood and underappreciated nutrient in the world. It is one of the most important elements essential for optimum operation of our vital organs and systems. 12 Keys of Awareness for Effective Healing in 2021

1. 99% of our spiritual growth is emotional healing. We have to feel to heal. We must be willing to look at our pain, and our unsupportive thoughts and behaviours, and move through them so that we can release that energy and make more supportive choices.

2. Negative ego will always oppose Spirit and never help us to heal, though it likes to take credit. We cannot expand our consciousness without embracing our Spiritual Self. It’s always helpful to ask within, “Is this my ego or my Spirit that’s currently engaged?”

3. Self-responsibility is essential to effective negative ego healing. If we blame others for our negative experiences we bypass the opportunity to look within to learn how we have the power to create positive change.

4. When we experience a manifestation in our physical body or material reality, it’s already existed in our emotional, mental and spiritual bodies. All layers must be cleared to completely heal and maintain well-being. For this reason healing takes place by gradually removing the obstacles and distortions placed upon our organic blueprint. This requires consistency and patience.

5. Conscious intention is required to move our energy in the direction of what we wish to create in our life experience. Of all the infinite possibilities, this brings us into resonance with what we choose.

6. The regular maintenance of our spiritual house/body is essential to maintaining inner clarity. This includes regularly evicting that which is inorganic and of lower frequency including negative entities, and declaring God as our authority for our sovereignty and freedom.

7. We are multi-dimensional beings with 12 dimensional bodies in our blueprint, not just 7 or 10 dimensions that are commonly understood.

8. There are 3 layers to our Lightbodies, not just our chakras and subtle energy bodies. This includes our creational blueprint, which is the Krystal Star Tree of Life.

9. Our 12th dimensional body and its frequencies is the only undistorted dimension. All lower dimensions have been distorted through the Negative Alien Agenda. We’re holding many more influences in our energetic-spiritual bodies than our limiting beliefs and emotions, which can block our highest expression.

10. The primary focus for Earth's ascension is the anchoring of the Divine feminine/Mother, in balance with the Divine masculine/Father, creating the Holy Trinity within, the Divine Christos-Sophia/Inner Child. 2020 THE YEAR OF UNPRECEDENTED SHARED GLOBAL LOSSES AND MASSIVE GRIEF by: Gina Pilon

“Grief is the conflicting feelings caused by the end of or change in a familiar pattern of behavior.” The Grief Recovery Institute There is no doubt that the year 2020 is going to go down in the history books—tainted by massive losses. The list of losses felt by individuals, families, communities, towns, cities, countries and the world at large are almost immeasurable at this juncture.

Death and the loss of a loved one is the ultimate loss; something that can never be restored or reclaimed—speak with, laugh with, cry with, dance with—all that was familiar is forever gone. Although death is a part of the natural order of life—there really is no escaping it— dying during the 2020 pandemic of COVID-19, or anything related or impacted by COVID-19, seems more in keeping with a horror movie and freak accident.

Then there are the huge economic losses. The short-term ramifications are obvious—jobs, business closures, unemployment rates, home loss, decreased income, and financial security. We can only imagine at this point what the long-term ramifications are going to be—how are we ever going to recover individually for some, and as a global family for all. We are all grieving—feeling the effects and living with the repercussions.

What about the loss of physical connection—communion with others—family gatherings, social events, celebrations, concerts, graduations, sporting events, holiday traditions, religious services, funerals, and weddings? The list is virtually endless in this realm of losses.

Although accepting them as a cost of slowing the spread of the virus, minimizing hospital cases, and saving lives—we are still impacted by the sheer painful grief of these losses. Acceptance does not mean we do not grieve; it does not mean we are immune to our feelings about all of it.

If anything, it means we need to accept and grieve at the same time.

There is another loss, not so obvious as the others but certainly worth consideration—Freedom. We are faced with lock downs, quarantine, limited travel, wearing of masks, speech censorship, and possibly mandated vaccination. The point here is not to judge these things but to recognize the loss of freedom they entail. The world has suffered the death of thousands of men and women through wars fought for just this very thing—our personal and collective freedom. The year 2020 has brought us to our knees and we are in the undeniable midst of the loss of freedom of a different nature—but a loss of freedom none the less.

On the shoulders of the losses already mentioned stands another type of loss—that is the loss of health; both physical and mental. We can all see it, feel it and taste it. It is palpable. People are not getting the health care they need; people are not able to get the emotional support they absolutely require during this pandemic. It seems everyone is aware of it, concerned about it, and even angry about it. Yet, we are left standing on the sidelines, watching as more and more people fall prey to this inevitable loss.

This year of 2020 presented more questions than concrete answers, more unknows than certainties, and more fear than trust. There is a loss of certainty, future hopes and dreams. How do we grieve losses of such magnitude and spread?

We are not alone in our grief; we are all grieving. We must learn to grieve and grieve well. If you feel you need support please reach out, let’s talk.

Working with Tone Magazine: The History of Aileen’s Oasis in Ottawa Aileen M. McKenna, Certified Quantum-Touch® Therapy Practitioner/Instructor, Certified Law of Attraction Life Coach, Certified Facilitator: Open Space Technology, and Facilitation of Small Groups

I

’ve been doing energy healing in Ottawa, Ontario, since 2004, and I’ve been writing articles and placing ads in Tone Magazine, this little local magazine since that time. I’ve enjoyed this relationship, and have found it to be a very successful for my business. In fact, I’ve tried advertising in many other publications, including one wellknown publication in the 5 sectors in Ottawa. Each of these publications charged me a lot of money to advertise and I received one telephone call, in that 12 month period. There was another publication for which I prepaid for a year of publications, and when they went out of business after a couple of months, they told me that it was too bad, but they had no more money, so, that’s it. However, my work with Tone Magazine was always predictable, published on time, and gave me precisely what they promised.

In December 2019, I received the news that Tone Magazine was going to stop publishing, as the owner Lemmy was not going to be continuing. I was devastated, as I knew that I didn’t want to try other local publications as I’d not had any favourable results in the past. I was approached by several publications, but I just didn’t feel comfortable with that, so when I was approached

by Tone Canada, I was elated, and knew that my positive results with Tone would continue.

In fact, when I reflect upon my experience with Tone magazine, I’ve had people contact me from other provinces who have received the magazine from visiting relatives. I’ve also had clients who had read an article several years before, and just hadn’t made the decision to see me until that moment.

Another wonderful story about this great magazine, was following the death of my brother-in-law at a big gathering at the church hall. I reconnected with a lady in her 80s whom I’d know since I was a child. Unbeknownst to any of my family, this lady had been reading all my articles in Tone throughout those many years. Her daughters had been picking it up and bringing it to her. She had been maintaining connection to me through Tone magazine over this long time.

As my practice is expanding to include group coaching sessions to entrenpreneurs, I’m delighted to continue to be visible in Tone Magazine now under the name of Tone Canada.

Aileen M. McKenna is a Certified QT Instructor and Practitioner, certified as the first Canadian instructor in June 2004. She has taught classes to 1,000s of students across Canada, in the Caribbean and Scotland and sees 100s of clients annually in her private clinic in Ottawa. Aileen is certified as an Open Space Technology facilitator, and a facilitator of small groups. She offers workshops in other energy work, including Grounding and the Art of Creating Sacred Space. hese are the words I will use to guide me in 2021. I don’t “do” resolutions; I simply look for the power words that will help uplift me the most in my own growth for the year. You are welcome to borrow them, or create your own. The following words written anonymously are what triggered this.

“Don’t be fooled by me. Don’t be fooled by the face I wear. For I wear a thousand masks, masks that I’m afraid to take off, and none of them are me.

Pretending is an art that’s second nature with me, but don’t be fooled, for God’s sake, don’t be fooled.

I give the impression that I’m secure, that all is sunny and unruffled with me, within as well as without, that confidence is my name and coolness my game; that the water’s calm and I’m in command, and that I need no one. But don’t believe me. Please.

My surface may seem smooth, but my surface is my mask. Beneath this lies no complacence. Beneath dwells the real me in confusion, in fear, and aloneness. But I hide this. I don’t want anybody to know it. I panic at the thought of my weakness and fear of being exposed. That’s why I frantically create a mask to hide behind, a nonchalant, sophisticated façade, to help me pretend, to shield me from the glance that knows. But such glance is precisely my salvation.

My only salvation. And I know it. That is, if it is followed by acceptance, if it’s followed by love. It’s the only thing that will assure me of what I can’t assure myself, that I am worth something.

But I don’t tell you this. I don’t dare. I’m afraid to. I’m afraid your glance will not be followed by acceptance and love. I’m afraid you’ll think less of me, that you’ll laugh at me, and your laugh would kill me.

I’m afraid that deep-down I’m nothing, that I’m no good, and that you will see this and reject me. So, I play my game, my desperate game, with a façade of assurance without, and a trembling child within. And so begins the parade of masks. And my life becomes a front.

I idly chatter to you in the suave tones of surface talk. I tell you everything that is really nothing, and nothing of what’s really everything, of what’s crying within me; so when I’m going through my routine do not be fooled by what I’m saying. Please listen carefully and try to hear what I’m not saying, what I’d like to be able to say, what for survival I need to say, but what I can’t say.

I dislike hiding. Honestly! I dislike the superficial game I’m playing, the phony game. I’d really like to be genuine and spontaneous, and me, but you’ve got to help me. You’ve got to hold out your hand, even when that’s the last thing I seem to want.

Only you can wipe away from my eyes the blank stare of breathing death. Only you can call me into aliveness.

Each time you’re kind, and gentle and encouraging, each time you try to understand because you really care, my heart begins to grow wings.

With your sensitivity and compassion, and your power of understanding, you can breathe life into me. I want you to know that.

I want you to know how important you are to me. How you can be the creator of the person that is me if you choose to.

You alone can break down the wall behind which I tremble. You alone can remove my mask. You alone can release me from my shadow world of panic and uncertainty from my lonely person.

Do not pass me by. Please…..do not pass me by.

It will not be easy for you. A long conviction of worthlessness builds strong walls. The nearer you approach me, the blinder I strike back. I fight against the very thing I cry out for. But I am told that love is stronger than walls, and in this lies my hope.

Please try to beat down those walls with firm hands, but with gentle hands for a child is very sensitive.

Who am I, you wonder? I am someone you know very well – for I am every man you meet and I am every woman you meet.”

The 5 Steps to Ensure Your Fitness Improves As You Age in 2021.

So many retirees attempt to improve their health by changing everything all at once. Instead, I encourage you to take these 5 steps for creating lasting change!

Step 1: Get clear on "Why" you want to exercise. Is it to build strength to do chores in your home? Is it to improve your mobility to avoid slip and falls? Knowing your "why" will keep you motivated on the days you'd rather not exercise!

Step 2: Choose 1 fitness goal to focus on...yes, only one! Maybe for you, it's going for 3 walks per week. Or participating in a weekly zoom fitness strength class for adults 50+. (Visit www.activitiesinmotion.ca/classes to learn more!) It takes roughly 30 days to build a new habit, so focus on one goal at a time.

Step 3: Pick an exact day and time that you will exercise. Then write it in your calendar.

Step 4: Treat your workouts like a doctor's appointment. You'd never miss an important appointment, so commit to your exercise time slots and treat them like gold!

W

hat is a legend? The Merriam-Webster dictionary describes a legend as somebody famous admired for a skill or talent. Another meaning, a popular myth that has arisen in modern times. Another interpretation is a story that has been passed down for generations. My personal favourite is a person or thing that inspires. These meanings suggest it is not what we do to ourselves or the goals that we have set for ourselves that is important; rather it is about how our accomplishments can inspire others do something incredible.

While we come closer to setting traditional “New Year’s Resolution”, please consider the effect the achievement of your resolutions will have on others. To focus on losing weight, to make more money or to stop a habit you feel is bad, has low impact on others. This is one of the main reasons many resolutions don’t work. All of us are spirit beings with an inherited, often hidden, passion to help or inspire others. Even the word inspire comes from the root word to be in-spirit, enlighten or motivate. It is only when we place ourselves in the light that we can gain extra energy and courage to keep going to complete the task we have set for ourselves. When everyone around you suggest quitting and go back to old patterns of simply watching others, it is the light of others that will help keep you on track.

When you have a vision of where you would like to be it must be attached to someone else you love. It is no secret most of us would work harder, go further and risk more when it comes to providing for those we love. We rarely work that hard for our own benefit. Mothers want to provide more for her children and will get a second or third job regardless of their exhaustion. Grandparents sign up for a marathon, so they can show their grandkids anything is possible. It is the pilot who loves his country and his family’s freedom that will go further to fight in an air raid. When we tie our resolutions to something or someone important to us, we inspire and place ourselves in the light, the source of unlimited energy.

Being a legend to someone is not about labeling yourself or creating a goal of being a legend. Rather it is the interpretation of others of what you have done that creates the legend. The question up to this point in time is “What is your story?”. As we move to 2021, we need to ask, “What part of your story will inspire others?” Ponder what you can do differently in 2021, while keeping in the forefront of your thoughts, the lives you will influence with your resolution. Let them tell your story and why it inspires them. Whatever goal or resolution you will set for yourself, know you are not doing it alone. For thousands of years people have been looking for heroes, idles and brave warriors to tell their stories to their children. It starts by having a story that others tell so the light can continue on.

Whatever you decide to do after the New Year, you are already a hero that you have made it this far. This Covid era will be in the history books and 40 years from now young people will want to know your story and how you made it through and thrived. Most people are legends now did not know they would be one until they have died. It is the stories that kept their light and inspiration going. How will you want your story told?

LEAVING THIS WORLD IN WATER by: Phil Pilon

F

uneral arrangements are an interesting affair, something that nobody wants to ever have to do—understandably—yet every one of us will likely have to do this at least once if not several times throughout our lives. Whether arranging for a loved one or making a plan for yourself, it takes a lot of courage to walk in the front doors of a funeral home—option or not.

Planning a funeral requires many decisions to be made by the person making the arrangements. Often the biggest decision is whether you would like your loved one to be buried or cremated. There has been a steady movement away from the traditional burial—as of 2018, 72 percent of Canadians elected cremation for themselves or their loved ones as the means of final disposition. This trend can be explained by a few things; cremation tends to be less expensive, and it gives the family options with the ashes. Cremation is often seen as a “simple” option.

For as long as humans have existed burial and cremation have been the only two options available. In the last ten years a new choice has emerged and quickly gained popularity where it has been made available. Aquamation—technically called Hydrolysis—is a process that uses water and is another alternative to traditional burial or cremation. This process has been available in Canada since 2012, and we are proud to bring this option to the Ottawa Valley.

With the environment, greenhouse gas emissions and pollution being a constant topic of discussion Aquamation is being recognized as an environmentally friendly means of disposition. There is no burning of any fossil fuels in the process, and it releases no greenhouse gas emissions—for the family, there is no need to buy a casket or container.

How does it work?

The body is placed in a sealed vessel which is then half-filled with water and tilted to a 35-degree angle. Lye and salt are added to create an alkaline environment in the water. The combination is about 5 percent alkali and 95 percent water. The water is heated to 300 degrees F and gently circulated. Our bodies are typically 65 percent water to so, the remaining organic components that we are comprised of; fats, proteins and carbohydrates are broken down into their most basic building blocks. This is the same process that occurs over years naturally when someone is buried. The result is completely sterile and is returned to the natural environment through the sanitary system. Our bones, which cannot break down, are left behind and processed into a fine powder before being placed into an urn. The entire process takes about 10 hours from start to finish.

In keeping with the innovative times that we live in, our focus is to be as creative as possible when working with the families we serve to create a meaningful, unique send-off for their loved one. Be it sweet and simple—viewing or no viewing—burial, aquamation or cremation, or as extravagant as our imaginations will allow, our philosophy is to let our families take the paint brush and allow us to provide them with all the tools and options they require.

Aquamation is yet another option that we are proud to provide to the families that we serve. Since there is no casket required for the process and we are equipped to provide the service right here in our home, this environmentally conscious option also pairs as a less expensive alternative for taking care of a deceased loved one.

Introduction to Unity: The Power of Strength

S

trength is one of the powers or lights we can call on when needed. These lights allow us to influence our world for good. As is stated in The Course in Miracles (lesson 237): “Today I will accept the truth about myself. I will arise in glory and allow the light in me to shine upon the world throughout the day.”

In her book, Divine Audacity, Linda MartellaWhitsett’s writes about the power or light of Strength as follows: I affirm that Divine Strength is my spiritual name and nature. I am strong, stable and steadfast in body, mind and spirit. I am the power of stand-ability, anchored to the shore while the winds of change swirl around me. I am centred in truth during times of instability. I am rooted in God, my source of Strength. With spiritual Strength I am confident, courageous, and determined. I am responsive from my position of spiritual Strength. I appreciate my limitless power. I am spiritual Strength: stable, courageous and tenacious.

Spiritual Strength is our capacity to stand undaunted in the midst of shifting circumstances to act courageously and to stay the course. Life is not always easy. Spiritual Strength helps us get through the difficult times. Unity co-founder, Charles Fillmore taught that spiritual Strength always overcomes “the seemly strong personal and material conditions.” In other words, spiritual Strength allows us to keep our firm resolve to the truth we know to respond to situations that present themselves in our lives.

The components of the power of Strength are stability, courage, and tenacity. The first of these, stability, means to be anchored to a strong foundation. Secure in the truth of our unlimited source of calm, safety and balance, we can stand strong during times of great change.

Strength also involves being courageous and living our lives audaciously. We all want to be liked and accepted. And yet, with courage, we are able to set some boundaries, to rock the boat and go against the norm, for example, challenging someone who is telling inappropriate jokes.

With the third component, tenacity, we are able to persist and persevere, not giving up and remaining committed to our position and acting with confidence.
