From the level of the superficial mind, the tip of the iceberg, it is difficult to achieve tangible results since therein lies various degrees of resistance, denial or ignorance. For example, you may remember a time when you knew you should not do something, but you did it anyway. Your superficial conscious mind may have found a good reason to support your decision despite knowing deep down that really you should not have acted as you did. We may sense that to not address this deeper part of our mind is to be missing out on our capacity to live fully. We further sense that a part of our mind contains the answers to our problems while the conscious mind thwarts this. This cannot serve us well.

This is where hypnosis can help through exploration with compassion and gentleness.

Coming to a Standstill

O

ne day, months ago, I lay on my bed mid-afternoon and I couldn’t find a reason to move. Not even lift my baby finger or use my eyes to look around. I wasn’t meditating. It was just a few marvellous moments of deep stillness. There was no ego mind itching to analyze.

There was no thinking. My body didn’t want to adjust itself or distract with action. All was suspended except my breath. There was just awareness by my Observer Self of being profoundly still. This was a new level of complete inner quiet – zero point.

More and more, this point of neutrality has been overriding my thinking in waking state. Outside of meditation or healing focus, there are more spaces of ‘no thought’. Words seem superfluous. The inner core Spirit is anchored and these are moments to fully allow rather than engage. This is a discernment we are all wise to mindfully learn to align with the higher frequencies.

This experience was connected to a correction to my mental body layer, which was significant since I hold a healing template in my Divine blueprint for the 3-6-9 axiatonal lines, chakras, and dimensional gates. Put into very simple terms, this configuration corresponds to the masculine architecture in the human and planetary Lightbody, and has been damaged through manipulation, creating density. When the subharmonic frequencies of these bodies are repaired they can allow for the intended correct energetic circulation of kundalini and spin of the merkaba, build the higher mental body and merge with the female principle for sacred inner marriage/Hieros Gamos. This personal renewal was synchronized with a planetary project to rebuild these consciousness grids.

I did question for a brief time whether this utter stillness was utter indifference. You see, since the mental body is the masculine body, I was also continuing to heal the bloodline of my father, a Starseed who gave up long ago. With this tangible energy surfacing, a question of my commitment to my Highest Spiritual Purpose and Service Mission teetered in my awareness, with intensity. However, my choice was vastly different than his - surrender.

Many awakened Starseeds/Indigos are now experiencing such a point of reset. While we continually move through death and rebirth, this renewal is more delineated now: it can feel like we come to a standstill to definitively separate that which must go from what is of value, including our commitment to Spirit. We can feel pressure in this alchemical stage of ascension purification, as more ego structures die, and pure consciousness energy is distilled. We are diamonds in the making!

Surfacing in my choicepoints were influential memories of being attacked, tortured and killed for powerfully standing in my truth. Those felt like times when I failed in my mission to bring Christ consciousness to Earth. But what is possible now, thanks to the return of the Divine Mother, just wasn’t possible then. It wasn’t possible for my father either. For both of us, and everyone, compassionate forgiveness is the only path to our true freedom. These false timelines can and must now collapse to serve the greater good of humanity’s consciousness.

You may also vaguely feel the fears of failing again, or fear of your power. Persecution memories, mission guilt, and feelings of deficiency are especially common for healing facilitators. Thankfully, the Hieros Gamos Healing Intelligence Technology is benevolently given to humanity to return us to our original Divine blueprint, and I offer profound ascension clearing through this consciousness field for those who resonate.

Absolute stillness is a beautiful thing. Let ego thoughtforms dissolve. Let the need for words abate.

Trust in your natural evolution even when it feels like more pressure than you can bear. Allow for clearing: be still, consciously participate, and ask for support if necessary. Purify and reset. Because after utter stillness comes utter re-enchantment!

Ego vs. Soul – Two Different Versions of Law of Attraction

I

love receiving those nuggets of inspiration in my email, especially when they encourage me to stop and reflect on their meaning in my life, or trigger a new direction for my thoughts. A few days ago, I read this little quote from James Twyman: The ego’s law of attraction, which doesn’t always work, says, “I want this.”

The soul’s law of attraction, which always works, says, “I am this.”

At first glance, the two phrases immediately resonated with me, and I recognized the truth in that statement. But upon reflection, I realized how difficult it might be for someone to embody this truth and live it. For example, if I want a house, how can I say “I am a house?” If I want a new car, how can I say “I am a car?” Obviously, this line of thinking doesn’t work, and I will never manifest a home with this kind of thinking. Of course, I can always say, “I am abundance,” and I will be a little bit closer to manifesting my home.

But the truth goes beyond this kind of thinking. From the soul’s point of view, law of attraction is never about manifesting material goods. In fact, most spiritual paths emphasize detachment from material things, as well as detachment from desire. The soul recognizes that material prosperity rarely brings happiness. Yet, lack of material prosperity will also bring despair. So how does one reconcile these seemingly disparate truths about law of attraction?

The answer lies in recognizing that desire is merely a focal point, rather than an end in itself. It is well known that desire only leads to more desire, and so satisfaction achieved through the chasing of desires becomes an impossibility. However, a mere shift of perception brings clarity. The satisfaction of desire as a focal point rather than an end in itself means recognizing that it isn’t about the material satisfaction. Instead, each goal strived for causes an immediate expansion of Spirit, and it is this expansion that the soul refers to when it says, “I am this.” When I say, “I want a house,” the ego will focus on the house itself and will experience frustration and discouragement when the house fails to appear. But the soul immediately becomes the new expanded version of Self and begins to draw the human self towards this new expanded version. The soul does not see the material house and therefore it sees no lack.

It sees and experiences only Itself, expanding, and,

seeing only perfection, remains in its perpetual state of joy.

So the trick to getting law of attraction to work, the secret that the masters have been trying to teach us, is that from the moment we feel a desire, we need to get our attention off the object of our desire and onto our expanded Self. Jesus understood this very well when he said, “Seek ye first the Kingdom of Heaven, and all else

shall be added unto you.” For what is the Kingdom of Heaven, after all, but our own Higher Self? By seeking material gain, in other words, we cut ourselves from the very thing we really want, and that is Self-Awareness, or Higher Consciousness. By focusing on our Higher Self, or our expanded version of Self, we become “big enough” to encompass whatever material objects we desire, we become inclusive in our thinking. By seeking material gain, we lose ourselves in the smallness of our shrunken consciousness, and we focus on the object of our desire and become exclusive in our thinking, that is, we exclude God, Truth, perfection and joy. We are literally excluding ourselves from the equation and with this kind of poverty consciousness thinking, we cannot possibly expect law of attraction to work for us.

We must, instead, adopt the soul’s way of thinking, and embrace the idea “I am this.” Step into your I AM consciousness, and you will never again have to worry about whether law of attraction works or not. For all else will have been added unto you.

Self-Soothing:

How to Take Care of Your Feelings

W

hen you were a child, you sometimes fell down.

Most likely, one or both of your parents would come running, scoop you up, look at your “owie” and say in a concerned voice, “Are you okay?” Then, they gave you a hug.

Depending on the situation, you may have received your parents’ full attention for the next hour or more.

Perhaps they played games with you, sang to you or just watched your favorite television show with you.

If parents weren’t quite that consistently attentive, maybe they simply checked on you a little more often than usual to make sure you were okay. In essence, your parents were soothing you to help you to feel better so you would recover from your fall: mentally, emotionally, and physically. And after all that soothing, your little life went on.

Now, as an adult... You might be on your own or living with your spouse. Your parents aren’t right there with you to help calm you when life delivers challenging situations.

Who will soothe you, then? It’s great to have support of your friends and family members. And of course, it’s healthy to call on those people when you need them.

But when you face some of life’s challenges and no other person can be there to help, you can soothe yourself.

Suggestions for Taking Care of Your own Emotions: How to Self-Soothe 1. Acknowledge your feelings. “I’m hurt because of what happened today” or, “I feel sad because my relationship isn’t going well.” Recognize that you’re going through a rough spot right now.

2. Ask yourself: “What can I do to help myself get through this situation and feel better?”

3. Think about your favorite activity or hobby. Maybe you love to read.

Tell yourself you’ll be sure to read at least an hour a day as a way to self-soothe.

4. Give yourself an outlet for your feelings. If you have a journal, write down your emotions every day for a while as a way to let them out. Call a good friend or family member to share your feelings, too.

5. It’s okay to cry. Crying is a normal human expression of feelings.

Typically, crying lasts just a few minutes. Crying cleanses you emotionally and helps you to let

go of sadness, anger, guilt, and many other feelings.

Afterward, you feel some relief and can more easily move on with your day.

6. Have your favorite cup of tea or coffee. But be cautious about self-soothing with too much food, too frequently.

7. Allow yourself time to have fun with others. Call a friend to play tennis. Or go for a hike. Go fishing with your brother. Do something you enjoy together.

8. Tell yourself, “I’m going to be okay.” Remind yourself that you’ll be stronger and smarter after you get through this situation. Think positive.

9. Make a conscious decision to move on with your life. Tell yourself that you’re ready to let go and leave the challenging situation behind you. If you’ve resolved it within yourself, you will move forward.

Learning to self-soothe is an important part of living a healthy adult life. Practice these suggestions when you recognize that you feel upset, hurt or disappointed.

Take responsibility for soothing yourself through any challenging situation.

In the event you discover you need some assistance in self-soothing, consider contacting a professional to get some extra support through the process. In time, you’ll learn to soothe yourself and take care of your own feelings.

M

any people who come for the inner child work go back to childhood relating to the sadness and feelings of isolation of not fitting in. They felt alien to the family, parents and siblings and wondered how in the world they ever came into this family. They felt misunderstood, afraid to share who they really were for fear of censure and humiliation. Above all, they feared rejection, and so they kept quiet, played the game and hoped no one would see that they were different and could not be accepted as a part of the family. As unhappy as they were they feared discovery and rejection more than anything.

Because they labeled themselves as different, they translated this into unlovable, unworthy---just plain not good enough. They grew up hoping this ‘not good enough’ would not be seen by others. When something embarrassing happened and they stood out they were terribly shamed and humiliated and it further reinforced their ‘not good enough’ness to themselves and they became more and more withdrawn and terrified of groups and places that were not safe, familiar and controllable for them. School was often a nightmare.

Wanting only to hide they felt exposed and raw-- just waiting to make a fool of themselves, answer a question wrong, bringing laughter and embarrassment or not being good enough on a sports team or any project they had to participate in. Life was one big fear of being seen, judged and known to be inadequate, unworthy and thus unlovable.

The sad part is going home did not feel any better.

Generally there was no one in the family they related to or felt understood by. Often the only ally was hiding in one’s room, a favourite spot out in nature where they could be alone, time with a beloved pet who unconditionally gave and received their love and often books. Today they would hide from their uncomfortable world in their screens, phones, ipods, ipads and computers. More than ever kids feel they do not fit in, that there is something wrong with this world and that nothing feels right or familiar to them.

I remember being a child around 4, being outside looking up at the light streaming through the clouds and saying to God ( or someone; I’m not sure I had a concept of God at that age) “Take me back. There is something wrong; there is no love here.” I felt so lost, so alone and so unloved. I needed to go back to the place I sort of remembered where it was different, where I felt the love and knew that I was love.

I think many of us came incarnated here from somewhere else where there was love, kindness, compassion, truth and respect and we have come here to help anchor that on this planet who we all know is in

Getting there is the challenge. Staying in this lower vibration when we not only remember how it could be loving and different and are living those loving qualities ourselves, we are finding it very hard to fit in as adults, just as we did as kids. We came here to assist in the big transition and part of that is remembering who we truly are, modeling what love and compassion look like, to a world that has become stuck in density and duality, the lower vibrations of power, greed and selfishness. If we did not know there was a different and better way how could we be the vanguard of change so desperately needed to propel us into the new age? This shift is so big, so dynamic it needs everyone of us who didn’t feel like we fit in (because we didn’t) to step up and be the love, the goodness, the generosity, the kindness and the compassion we are.

Each one of us counts. What I’m saying--if you didn’t fit in it is a good thing. It means your special and you know that self-centeredness and fear is not the way to live. Be the role model you came in to be. BE THE LOVE! The inner child work I do really helps to heal the pain of growing up not fitting in. Even though we now know why we didn’t and that it is a good thing we didn’t, we still benefit from going in and re-parenting the lost and wounded child that felt inadequate, unworthy and unlovable. This is my favourite work and I would love to help you heal a sad and isolated childhood and to celebrate who you are now.

Joy is possible in your life when you allow your soul to radiate its love, light, and joy. Joy is something that your soul already knows how to experience because joy is an aspect of your soul. Your soul knows joy very well.

The first important golden key that will allow you to experience joy in your daily life is gratitude. The door to joy will be completely closed to you if you do not have gratitude. This is even more so if you want to experience divine joy, which is at a much higher frequency and comes from a higher level in Heaven.

Love is the second golden key. Love is important in healing because it helps to remove blockages that you may be experiencing in your soul, heart, mind, and body. Love that is sincere and unconditional can melt blockages. This is extraordinary because it means you can remove and melt away all the blockages you experience in life, including health issues, emotional imbalance, mental issues, spiritual pain, and difficulties in relationships and finances.

Forgiveness is the third golden key for experiencing more joy in your life. Often this key is one of the most difficult to follow and put into action. Not only must we learn how to forgive those who have hurt us, and ask for forgiveness from those we have hurt, but it must be done with great sincerity. The forgiveness must be offered unconditionally.

Let us do a short practice now to offer love to your heart and soul. If you heal your heart and soul, you can experience greater joy in your life. Joy is housed in your heart! Let us now chant together:

The So-Called ‘Magic of Mediation’

by Arnold Zeman, Acc.FM (OAFM) recent case demonstrated to me once again the power of party decision-making as it relates to mediation process and to substantive issues. The first 90 minutes of the mediation unfolded with each person staking out positions with increasingly heated emotions: the quality of the conflict interaction was steadily degrading and they became stuck. One then requested a break to go outside and smoke a cigarette; the other client used the break to smoke a cigarette as well. As far as I know, they did not communicate with each other during the break. When the mediation resumed, the tone of their conversation had changed markedly.

One offered a revised position with a concession to the other; this offer was quickly accepted. This turn in the conversation effectively settled all but one of their issues, which they agreed to address subsequently. So what happened here?

Often practitioners when faced with an unanticipated ‘positive’ development in mediation will answer this question by invoking the ‘magic of mediation’. In other words, not being able to explain what happened, they revert to talk about the art of mediation and how settlement can rise like a phoenix from the ashes in some indescribable and indefinable way. Resorting to a catchphrase merely illustrates the disconnect between mediation theory and practice. Yogi Berra is supposed to have said, in theory, there’s no difference between theory and practice, but in practice there is. It’s a great line, but what if Yogi was wrong?

As a transformative mediator, I would explain what happened here in the following way. I supported the clients’ conversation, the points they wished to make to each other, and their positions on the different issues under discussion. An element of this support consisted of my making the observation at a judicious moment in their conversation that they seemed quite far apart on the issues, with a brief summary of what their respective positions were on each of them. I then turned it over to them by asking what they wanted to do having reached this point in their conversation, e.g., did they wish to end the mediation; did they want to talk about something else in their conversation; did they wish to think things over and schedule another session to talk some more. I mentioned that this was not an exhaustive list but simply illustrative of the sorts of decisions they were now faced with. They didn’t reply directly to my summary of their conversation or my question about what they wished to do. Instead, they resumed their negative, unproductive conversation. I repeated my summary of what they had been talking about, asked whether they were finding the conversation helpful, and what they now wished to do. Again, they resumed the downward spiral of their interaction. This cycle repeated itself several times. After they then called for a break, one returned with a concrete proposal that the other

By limiting myself to interventions in their conversation that simply summarized what they had been saying and asking what they wished to then do, I took on no responsibility for getting them unstuck. Rather, I would argue that it became very clear to them that both their differences and the process for addressing them were their responsibility. Given their understanding of their goals, options, and resources, they could make whatever decisions they felt called on to make. In simple terms, I accompanied each of them to the edge of the cliff and asked what they wanted to do. In the event, neither wished to jump (and pursue their dispute through litigation); apparently, after thinking over the situation, they both wished to resolve matters themselves. Key to what took place was their accepting personal responsibility, their reflecting on what possibilities were available, and their making their own decisions about their lives. Instead of offering them problem-solving skills, I helped by supporting their conversation wherever they decided to take it: from high emotion to an eventually quieter, more reasoned tone where one made a constructive offer to the other.

Many mediators may also provide such support from their ‘tool box’ of interventions. The point though is my interventions are not part of a repertoire of techniques to assist parties, by separating the problems from the people, to reach settlements that the mediator considers fair. Rather, my mediator moves are carried out with only one objective in mind, the only objective in transformative practice, namely support for each party’s shift to relatively greater strength and for each party’s shift to openness to the other. Whether they settle or not is entirely up to them, as are all other decisions before them.

Introducing Divorce University

I

t has often been said that “Knowledge is Power.”

Over the 35 years that I have been working as a family lawyer and mediator, I have often been struck by the misinformation that clients seem to have acquired.

Whether from canvassing family law websites that deal with jurisdictions other than Ontario, or perhaps from just watching too many American TV shows, many couples who have tried their best to obtain accurate family law information have wound up being sadly misinformed.

To combat this epidemic of misinformation, I have started a program called Divorce University. In a free, five-hour seminar that I offer from time to time, I explain, in simple English, the basic concepts of family law for separating couples in Ontario. The next seminar is Saturday, November 15 at the Cartier Suites Hotel, on Cooper Street (just off Elgin) in downtown Ottawa.

The seminar is for the general public, as well as for professionals who deal with separating spouses. In the seminar I focus mainly on the three main areas of every Separation Agreement: 1. Parenting Arrangements. This is the section that deals with all aspects of the parents’ arrangements for their children (except for the financial arrangements, which are covered under point #3). What will their custody arrangement be, and what will their timesharing arrangements be for their children? (These are two completely separate matters.) What happens if one parent wants to move away from Ottawa?

What happens if they can’t agree on something to do with their children?

2. Division of Assets and Debts. This can be the most technically complicated part of an Agreement. The family law of Ontario sets out a detailed mathematical formula to, in effect, divide up the assets and debts accumulated during a marriage equally between the spouses. Most couples know about this basic 50/50 rule, but there are important exceptions (and exceptions to the exceptions!) that can change the basic rule significantly.

3. Financial Support. This includes spousal support, if applicable, as well as child support. There are always three questions to consider here: Is the spouse/child entitled to support? If so, how much and for how long? These questions are usually easier to answer with respect to children than for spouses.

In addition to these three main areas, I also discuss the following topics: common-law situations, issues specific to same-sex couples, wills and powers of attorney, life insurance, children’s property, and several other important matters. And – most important – I leave lots of time for a Q and A session.

Unless the couple owns property overseas, say, or between them has four pensions in three different provinces (as I once dealt with), most situations are reasonably simple – at least from the legal point of view. Sciatica and Acupuncture

T

he sciatic nerve is the longest nerve in your body, running from the spinal cord to the buttock and hip area and down the back of each leg, and about the size of your little finger. Sciatica is a condition where the sciatic nerve is irritated. The most telltale symptom of sciatica is pain that radiates along the path of the sciatic nerve- from the lumbar area to the buttock and down the back of the leg. The pain can be anywhere from a mild ache to a severe sharp or burning pain, numbness or weak muscles along the nerve pathway, and tingling or pins and needles feeling in the toes or foot.

The irritation of the sciatic nerve can be the result of pressure from muscles that are too tense or too short, a bulging disc in the lumbar vertebral column that pushes on the nerve, an inflammation of the nerve, or bad posture or heavy work that involves a lot of lifting and bending over. The pain can be severe and often gets worse while sitting too long, driving, bending over and lifting heavy objects. Sciatica is a widespread injury and about 40% of us will eventually be affected by it in some form. Sciatic pain will sometimes be the sign of a herniated disc and it is certainly wise to pay attention to it in an early stage and get expert advice.

In Western medicine sciatica can be treated by many different health care professionals. The massage therapist will loosen the tension in the muscles of the back and leg, in order to relieve the sciatic nerve, the physiotherapist will give exercises to improve posture and stretch muscles and can apply ultrasound or interferential current. The chiropractor will align the spine in order to relieve pressure on the nerve. The doctor can prescribe painkillers or anti-inflammatories and the surgeon can do surgery to remove the bulging of the disc or contributing problem.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), sciatica is considered to be a lower back problem, an area that is strongly influenced by the bladder and kidney channels.

Sciatica can be differentiated into different types, depending on the exact cause. Damp-cold invading the back channels can occur in both acute and chronic cases, causing a dull, heavy, radiating pain that may be worse with cold or dampness. Sciatica due to stagnation of qienergy and blood in the back area can cause either an acute or chronic condition that is aggravated with the absence of movement. Sciatica due to kidney deficiency will result in a chronic condition because of the fact that weak kidneys are unable to properly nourish the lower back area, making it susceptible to injury and dysfunction. This type of sciatica has a slow, gradual onset and typically will get worse in the evening and with fatigue.

Acupuncture can be extremely effective in the treatment of both acute and chronic back pain, including sciatica, regardless of how long the condition has been present. Sciatica often takes longer to treat than other types of back pain, but acupuncture can produce great results, both in treating the pain and in addressing the underlying weakness that is contributing to a sciatic problem.

Now joining the World Beyond Blame Global Movement seemed like the next logical step, another opportunity to explore our minds, bodies, hearts and souls for any crumbs of blame left, much as our Jewish friends scour their cupboards of crumbs in preparation for Passover.

We would like to share with you some thoughts, which come from our colleagues about blame.

Blame is an energy drain that limits our thinking.

When our thoughts are focused on blame we are not open to learning anything new about the situation, about ourselves or others.

Blame keeps us in the past that’s already over. Blame is about what’s already happened and trying to change what’s already happened is an exercise in futility.

Blame leads to states of contraction and a narrow focus rather than expanded states of creativity, wonder and curiosity. We focus on what’s wrong rather than on what is possible.

Blame sets up the conversation for a winner and a loser. It separates us from others. Even if we end up as the winner it doesn’t get us what we really want and need which is genuine connection.

Blame is arguable; in other words, it can always be argued with, so it leads right into conflict.

Driving Anxiety?

Hypnosis Can Help

By Dr Luke Michael Howard riving anxiety is a very common form of anxiety that can range in severity from a hesitation to drive, where anxiety is always present, all the way up to a total refusal to drive at all, in which case it becomes driving phobia. A phobia is a fear that is paralyzing but irrational. Driving phobia is one of the most common phobias.

Driving phobia is a form of agoraphobia, literally defined as is the fear of open spaces. But it’s not the fear of open spaces that scares people, it’s the fear of loss of control. People with a driving phobia fear being trapped in a traffic jam and unable to escape if they experience a panic attack, likewise, they also fear passing out, losing control of the vehicle, throwing up or getting into an accident. For many people, driving next to big trucks can be very nerve racking, as can be merging on the freeway or driving in the fast lane.

Symptoms of driving anxiety or phobia are similar to those of most other forms of anxiety: heart palpitations, perspiring and sweaty palms, disorientation, confusion, dizziness, dry mouth and shortness of

breath. This is the classic “fight or flight response”.

Sometimes people feel that they are going to die or go crazy. This can be really scary and people will avoid driving to avoid these kind of intense feelings. Of course, these are just feelings and even the most severe panic attacks don’t cause any long term ill effects.

Obviously, this can seriously impact a person’s ability to function on a daily basis if they need to drive to work or drive for a living.

Driving anxiety can start in many ways. Usually a person has experienced an incident such as a car accident or “close call” and that memory is still causing the subconscious mind to be protective. Sometimes, although not often, this kind of anxiety can show up seemingly out of the blue. If you are a person that is prone to anxiety or fear, then driving may just be one place where this shows up.

Driving anxiety can turn into a phobia though avoidance. In other words, of you have some fear of driving and you decide to stop altogether, it becomes a full blown phobia and the more you avoid it, the harder it is to get back in the saddle, so to speak. The good news is, fear of driving is a learned behavior. If you have ever felt comfortable driving, then that is something you learned, so if you are uncomfortable now, you can relearn how to be comfortable again.

The most important thing to realize is that even though anxiety does not feel good, it will not kill you. It is your reaction to the feeling of anxiety that can make it manageable or not. Instead of fighting anxiety, just allow it to be. Notice it, and see if you can observe it with detachment. Take deep breaths and try to remain in the present moment. Realize you have a tendency to create anxiety with your thoughts so try focusing on something else, like the environment, music, or the cars in front of you.

If you are still driving even though you experience anxiety, these tips can be helpful and good luck.

However, if your level of anxiety is very high or if you are phobic, you will probably need some help. As a hypnotherapist specializing in anxiety, I can tell you that you don’t need to live with the anxiety; hypnotherapy can be effective for allowing you to drive comfortably, confidently and safely.

Creating a Compassionate Society, Loving Kindness and Compassion

he seeds of loving kindness and compassion begin in the home environment, especially from the mother.

Children need a lot of attention, a lot of love and physical affection simply because we are human primates. For without this children easily become anxious, agitated and aggressive. School bullies, for example, are a result of children not getting enough proper attention at home, sad to say. When parents are too busy and stressed, they end up scolding the children a great deal, some parents get physically abusive. Bullies in the work place have the same affliction from childhood and so they are prone to fear and insecurity with an ego/image problem.

As human beings we are conditioned by the home and school environment, also by language, climate, food, by the media, by society at large. Our minds are conditioned to react, our brains are programmed/ educated to label, criticize, judge, compare, condemn, to like or dislike, to want or not to want, to desire or to have aversion or hatred. This is the cause of our conflicts, disharmony, discontentment. This conditioning is the obstacle that prevents us from being kind and compassionate. The idea of a permanent, concrete self or ego-entity is strengthened by this conditioning, which is the root-cause of our problems, fear and worries,

craving and attachments. How strongly we are affected by this conditioning depends on how much love and compassion we receive at home.

To be personal for a moment, I was fortunate growing up on the tropical island of Jamaica during the 1950s and 1960s. Life was simple and unhurried, people were easy-going and friendly, kind, respectful and down-toearth. I grew up with a lot of kindness and affection without much material value and consumption, and so I felt that people were far more important than money and material things. More stress affects the immune system. They have found that people who are more self-centered, competitive and jealous are more prone to heart attack. Self-centered attitude brings more stress and bad health.

Compassion, kindness and the spirit of forgiveness should be a secular perspective and understanding, without religious beliefs and ideas, because basic human values are most essential to have a peaceful and meaningful life. Warmheartedness is the key factor otherwise we remain shallow and superficial, insecure and narrow-minded. Without the virtue of loving kindness and compassion, we cannot be free from hurt, resentment, jealousy, guilt, regret and sorrow. Seeing our basic humanity goes beyond labels, racial distinction, physical appearance, sexual orientation and religious beliefs.

Interestingly, some people see compassion as a sign of weakness, that it makes us emotional unstable, that it prevents us from being progressive and successful. But this idea is only based on ignorance and conditioning.

In fact, compassion brings inner strength, confidence and security along with patience and acceptance. So there’s less fear, conflict and anxiety because there is freedom from self-view and interest, and we can also experience the virtues of sympathetic joy and goodwill and equanimity despite the ups and downs of life. One is able to deal with daily problems better with calmness and patience, with less reactivity and upset.

Loving kindness has its own energy and intelligence, its own beauty and compassion, its own freedom and sensitivity, its own action where there is no conflict.

Incidentally, children can be taught about the mind and emotions; how fear, hatred and anger disturb the mind. And how kindness and warm-heartedness make us feel happy, peaceful and confident; we can be more open, less fearful to daily experience.

It is easier to be compassionate with people who we like than with people who give us problems or hurt us in some way. Compassion with wisdom is more universal and unbiased, and it’s therefore capable of embracing those who are unkind to us, because we understand that they too would like to be happy and to be free of suffering, and that their unwholesome behaviour is due to mental defilements - ignorance and delusion, selfish craving and clinging, hatred and ill will. Wisdom and compassion help us not to take things personally, we can be more understanding, accepting and patient.

It is also important to be kind to ourselves whenever we make mistakes, otherwise we suffer from frequent guilt and regret. We must forgive ourselves for being human because we are not perfect. We think and believe that we should be perfect but perfection is only a mental concept. So it’s perfectly natural to make mistakes; it’s just an aspect of being human.

Loving kindness meditation is most beneficial especially when we are conflicted by fear, guilt and negativity. First, we calm the mind with mindful breathing, then we recite mentally, “May I be well, happy and peaceful, may I be free from fear, conflict and delusion. May my family and friends be well, happy and peaceful, may they be free from fear, conflict and delusion. May all Beings be well, happy and peaceful, may all Beings be free from fear, conflict and delusion.”

D IG IN Cooking Without 14 of the Most Common Allergens

I

n early 2000, my life changed drastically. Almost overnight, I went from being a perfectly healthy, energetic, vibrant, bubbly 20 year old, to an individual who struggled daily with disabling migraines, memory issues, unrelenting gut complications, severe body aches, speech disorders, breathing and swallowing difficulties, walking problems and extreme fatigue.

To get better, I tried almost every different approach I could think of, from the ones I read about in magazines, to the ones suggested by friends, family and even random, well intentioned strangers. Unfortunately, these attempts led to little or no change in my health status. It was very frustrating and discouraging.

While still trying to mend my ailing body I learned, thanks to an amazing doctor, Dr. Jennifer Armstrong who wrote the forward to this book, that what we eat is one of the key factors to health recovery. Through various tests it was revealed, to my dismay, that so many foods that I thought were healthy for my body and would make me feel better, could actually be making me feel even worst. How was it possible that oats could make me feel exhausted, or that eggs could make my stomach churn, or milk make me so ill? One of my first thoughts was that I would no longer be able to enjoy so many of the foods that I ate almost every day. I also remember being very miserable and thinking: “No Wheat?!?!? “No Gluten?!?!? No eggs?!?!? No sugar?!?!?

No dairy?!?!? What will I eat? What’s left now to enjoy?”

It was an extremely difficult process to eliminate many of these foods (as many of you know), but in the end, well worth it.

I was fortunate enough that cooking and baking were two of my favorite passions. Cooking and baking calm, sooth and uplift me in times of sadness, despair and physical pain. These activities helped me view the exercise of food elimination as an opportunity to discover new foods, new flavors, as well as a chance to create a whole new repertoire of recipes that my family and I could enjoy. As a sufferer of multiple food allergies and sensitivities, I was required to experiment with conventional ingredients, discover alternative, unconventional and novel ingredients, as well as try out diverse methods to cooking and baking. Of course, as my collection of recipes grew, so did the interest for them grow from other individuals with similar allergies and sensitivities. This is how the idea for this cookbook came to life. Sharing my collection of recipes with others like me could finally give me the purpose I had lost years ago when I became ill. This was my way to feel whole again.

A Healing Journey

I

t started in a dysfunctional family as has many of yours. There was rage, the no talk, no think, no feel rules, and also sexual abuse of many of its members by two different people, and yet although it could be very frightening it seemed normal. We respected and sometimes put our parents on a pedestal. It wasn’t until I was well into my 30’s and had become sick before reality struck. I was taking a communication course at Algonquin College with people who were working towards addiction counselling and to be a social worker. The light bulb went off as I listened to the stories of those who wanted to work with addictions.

I was an adult child with all the patterns and dysfunction that comes with the territory. I continued with the courses and graduated with a certificate in addiction counselling.

Next I decided if I really wanted to improve my life and work with people coming from dysfunctional homes I needed more than book smarts.

I went to workshops and to a treatment centre in the United States.

None of these seemed to touch my heart and make changes. I then read books on Adult Children, Dysfunctional Families, and watched movies on the topic. Still no movement, then a light bulb moment, what if I asked myself questions pertaining to the books, and movies to touch what was happening inside of me. Wow that moved things. I decided to offer workshops that were not only educational but that also involved group work by proposing questions that they would take home ponder and them share with the group.

The participants were very pleased with the result of this new and different approach. They found that their counselling moved faster. They had insights, when others would share their stories. Hence the conception of New Hope for Healing and a new way of life began.

for a period of time. This is done sometimes through some difficult dialogue, but what happens when the dialogue stops and the client just becomes STUCK! This is where pictures enter into the strategy.

olds, coughs and the flu virus can affect us at any time of year. The fall and winter and winter are the most common times to catch them. Here are some traditional Chinese medicine tips to protect yourself from colds and coughs this year:

1) Avoid getting chilled.

It’s often during the seasonal shifts where people get sick because their bodies don’t adjust the drastic changes in temperature. According to Chinese medicine, when you catch a chill, this is called an “invasion of windcold“. This is why even in English we call it “catching a cold“. The wind-cold goes into your skin and your immune system goes into hyper-drive to deal with it, causing mucus, fever, aches, etc. If you get chilled, the best thing you can do is to sweat. Take a hot bath or a sauna. Or drink a warm-ginger tea and lie under some blankets to sweat it out. When you sweat, the “windcold” is released through your pores, and you will avoid getting more sick.

2) Get acupuncture.

Acupuncture helps keep your immune system strong and in balance. When someone’s immune system is weak, they tend to get colds and coughs easily. When their immune system is out of balance, they tend to have allergic reactions to certain environmental influences or foods. Acupuncture helps stabilize and reinforce your immune system, so it does its job properly and efficiently to defend your body against outside threats and maintain a balanced relationship between all

your internal systems (organ system, nervous system, endocrine system, circulatory system, lymphatic system, etc.) There are many factors that can weaken your immune system, like stress, adrenal fatigue, digestive problems, insomnia or internal inflammation. Getting regular acupuncture solves these issues and strengthens your body in the core, by affecting the internal organs through the acu-points.

3) Eat pears and drink ginger tea in the fall.

The fall is the season of the lungs. Pears moisten and nourish the lungs, which are one of the main organs involved in your immune system, according to Chinese medicine. Choose organic pears and eat them with the skin for the best effects. Pears are great when you have a dry cough. Ginger is anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and has even been shown to reduce ovarian cancer cells. Ginger is a powerful super-food and healing herb. The best way to make ginger tea is to boil fresh ginger for 5-10 minutes. Sweetening it with some honey is also good because honey strengthens the Spleen organ system and balances the drying and hot nature of ginger.

4) Avoid refined sugar.

Excessive refined sugar weakens the immune system and causes an internal inflammatory response, due to the spike in insulin levels triggered by the sugar intake.

The next time you notice people around you getting sick or you are feeling like your immune system is low, stay away from refined sugars. Instead eat more fibrous foods, drink more pure water and get some rest.

5) Keep your bowels moving.

Regular and complete bowel movements are the cornerstone to good health. If your large intestine isn’t excreting waste and toxins regularly, then you are likely re-absorbing toxins into your system. Instead of having a strong immune system standing by ready to defend

Question: I believe in the value of meditation but I find myself getting frustrated and discouraged by my lack of ability to make any progress. Would you have any advice for me?

SRI CHINMOY: Sometimes you do not feel like eating, but you know that the body needs food, so you still eat every day. It is a natural habit, the body’s demand.

Similarly, even if you cannot meditate properly or have your best meditation every day, still try to feel the necessity of daily practice. If we do not feed the soul, our inner being, every day, then the soul or the aspirant in us starves. And then what happens? We cannot reveal or manifest our own divinity.

You have to realise that at this point in time you are not an expert in meditation.

Your meditation is at the mercy of your inspiration or aspiration. In order to maintain the same level of meditation, you have to be very spiritually advanced. So how can we become an expert in anything? We have to practise daily. It is the same with meditation. If you practise meditation daily, eventually it becomes spontaneous.

When you do not have a good meditation, do not allow yourself to become a victim of frustration. If you become frustrated, you will lose your capacity to an

Symptoms that generally indicate the need for a cleanse include: loss of appetite, cravings, difficulty getting out of bed in the morning, irritability, poor sleep, difficulty focussing, gassiness/bloating, unpleasant odours from sweat/breath/stool/urine and low energy, coated tongue.

Plan ahead for a cleanse and work up to it gradually, phasing out heavy and stimulating foods such as meat, wheat, dairy, coffee, chips and sugar. Detox tea in this phase helps the process: simmered dandelion/burdock roots are perfect for the season.

The bowels MUST be moving regularly before starting or the cleanse will “bounce”, stirring up toxins in the body without giving them a chance to exit. This results in headaches, fatigue, irritability and joint pain.

A cleanse can be from a meal to a month. Start slowly and gradually build up because the benefits of cleansing can be wiped out by not being able to come off of it gradually. Traditional wisdom recommends taking the same amount of time to phase back into normal eating as cleansing. If not sure, start with 1/2-1 day cleanses and work up. This can easily be done weekly all year around and for some people is the best way.

Cleansing food: Breakfast varies according to people’s body types and health. Strong, healthy types can simply have ginger tea. Medium types, especially if they tend to overheat, can have a smoothie with whey or vegan protein powder. Sensitive types do well with cooked rice porridge with almond butter, honey and non-dairy milk with ginger tea on the side.

Lunch and dinner is an Ayurvedic food called kitchari, a mixture of white Basmati rice with an equal amount of red lentils, spices (cumin, turmeric, ginger), ghee or coconut butter, and twice the amount of water.

One can add chopped, non-starchy vegetables or they can be steamed separately.

Between meals, drink water or herb tea. If needed have a piece of fruit or a smoothie.

Cleansing supplements: milk thistle for the liver because it helps strengthen it as well as clean. The dose varies from a few drops in the morning ½ hour

www.ecowellness.com before breakfast for people with delicate constitutions/ conditions to 30 drops ½ hour before meals twice daily for stronger folk. For the bowels you can use bentonite (1 tablespoon) and psyllium (1 teaspoon) mixed in 1 cup water a few minutes after the morning milk thistle, ½ hour before breakfast. This helps remove the toxins that are being pulled out of the tissues into the digestive tract for elimination.

Other tips for a successful and pleasurable cleanse: go to bed and wake up early; move lots, but gently (rebounding on a small trampoline is lovely as is yoga); rest lots if tired; treat yourself to a lymph drainage massage to help move toxins out; ditto for a sauna if you feel strong enough; colonics for chronic constipation.

These activities help offset cleansing symptoms (see above).

Time for reflection, prayer, meditation and/or healing, either facilitated or alone invites the most important benefit of cleansing: inner growth.

It’s best to avoid extremes and have a pleasant and easy cleanse—which makes us want to repeat the process!

TWO LIVES Ian Prattis

D

on Butler, senior writer at The Ottawa Citizen interviewed me about my recent book, Trailing Sky Six Feathers: One Man’s Journey with His Muse. Here are some excerpts that appeared in Don’s article, September 22, 2014 - ‘How the two lives of Ian Prattis could help us all survive.’

“Prattis, a 71 year-old retired professor of anthropology and religion, writes about two of his lives in a new book, Trailing Sky Six Feathers, described on the jacket blurb as ‘Indiana Jones meets the Buddha with a dash of Celestine Prophecy.’ In this life, Prattis, who calls himself a Spiritual Warrior for Planetary Care, Peace and Social Justice, taught at Carleton University for 37 years, was ordained in India as a guru, leads weekly Buddhist meditation classes in the basement of his west-end bungalow, and founded Friends for Peace Canada at the outbreak of the Iraq war. Oh, yes – he also lived in a hermitage in Gatineau Park with his pet wolf for four years. In the other life, he was the chief of an Indian band in 18th-century Arizona, fending off Apache attacks, married to Trailing Sky Six Feathers, a powerful medicine woman in whose arms he died in 1777. As his life ebbed away, she vowed: “I will find you my husband, I will find you.” ”In his book, a mix of memoir, mysticism and manifesto, the British-born Prattis describes both lives and pivotal training he received from four North American sages that ultimately allowed him to reunite spiritually with his ‘muse,’ Trailing Sky. He issues a call for ‘spiritual awakening,’ necessary to ensure the survival of a world pushed to the edge of a dangerous precipice by climate change, ecosystem and financial collapse, corruption, terrorism and anarchy. It’s hard to predict how people will receive his book, Prattis acknowledges. For the longest time, his own logical, intellectually trained mind resisted accepting the fantastical tale.

“His journey started about 35 years ago, when he began decades of spiritual training with White Eagle Woman, an Ojibwa shaman from a reserve near Sault Ste. Marie. When they first met, White Eagle Woman “looked me straight in the eye and said ‘I don’t like you at all’ Prattis recalls.

“But she said, ‘I’ve been instructed by my ancestors to train you.’” It was during that training that Prattis started

I had to let the logic go and let the intuition speak more loudly.” In the early 1990s, Prattis retreated to a hermitage, a small cottage near parking Lot 7 in Kingsmere.

His constant companion was a timber wolf he had encountered in the wilds of British Columbia who “made it clear that he was to come back with me to Quebec,” Prattis says. He dubbed the animal Wolfie, a name he dryly describes as “Highly original.”

“Trailing Sky, Prattis says, “represents the feminine aspect of Earth wisdom, the feminine face of the Buddha to which he has surrendered. …Given the existential threats facing us, spiritual awakening is essential, Prattis says. Without it, “all you can rely on is politics and economics. We need something more formidable than that.

“We seem to be waiting for a Gandhi, a Mandela or a Martin Luther King to step up and lead. They’re gone.

It’s ordinary people that have to step up and make a difference. Spiritual awakening takes hard work and discipline, Prattis says. Living simply is important. So is mindfulness and developing community. One key strategy, says Prattis, is to respond, rather than react, when others say or do things that upset you.

Despite the threat of approaching disaster, Prattis says his book is fundamentally optimistic. “It really does have a message of empowerment. No matter how dire the situation is or how perilous, we can always come through.”

Dare to Dream!

O

n the back of my business card I have the phrase “Dare to Dream” printed on it. The purpose of this phrase is to stop people in their tracks and get then to think of new possibilities for themselves. Being a Retirement Coach, I tend to engage people, that is, get their dreaming juices flowing as they prepare themselves for their life after work. Life is such that we get comfortable in our situation and we become complacent towards making much needed changes.

But why limit your dreaming to only your retirement? Why not dare to dream for all aspects of your life?

The definition of insanity is the expectation of a different result from doing the same actions.

From my experience in coaching clients for their retirement, I found that the designing process requires their total engagement and their willingness to go down a different road. This invariably demands that they adopt the words flexibility, creativity and imagination into their vocabulary and that they eradicate the word complacency. By willingly going outside of one’s comfort zone, that is, by looking at things in a different way, a new world of exciting possibilities will emerge. The quality of one’s life will be directly proportional to the amount of effort given in planning it out.

What project(s) do you want to take on? Where in your life or in society do you want to make a difference? Is there something that you feel compelled to accomplish?

Is there an unfulfilled dream from your childhood that needs completion? What song is still inside of you that is screaming to get out? Go ask your friends what they are doing to find their life purpose. Attend seminars on that very subject to get the juices flowing. Force yourself to think of new possibilities that you have not looked at yet. Hire a qualified life coach to help you work through these challenges. They are trained to ask you the tough questions; questions that are designed to guide you along the path of self-discovery. The end result will be that you will start to develop a new action plan for your life. It’s all about asking yourself the right questions, that is, identifying the areas in your life in which you feel stuck. By working through these areas of conflict, you will invariably be guided towards your answers.

This information is not just applicable to your retirement planning which I tend to focus on for my clients. To the contrary, it is applicable for all areas of your life as well. Life is too short to sit there and wait for the right moment in your life when you can start doing whatever it is that is calling at you. Ask yourself this simple question: “If I don’t move forward with this plan today, where will I be in five years from now?”

The top reasons to stop using commercial bodycare

H

ave you been wondering about what you put on your body as well as what you put in it? Good!

First of all, imagine the journey a commercial product takes before it ends up in your home. It is produced in a manufacturing plant and packaged.

Then it is probably stored, awaiting shipping. Then it ends up in a store, unpacked and stored or shelved.

Finally, you purchase the product and take it home. Perhaps it was on sale, so you stock up. So now, more storage time. And the packaging is, in all likelihood, plastic. So by default, there must be some pretty powerful preservatives in there! And wouldn’t you want the products you put on your body to be as fresh as those you put in it?! Preservatives can include formaldehyde (such an excellent preservative, as we know), parabens (linked to reproductive toxicity and cancer)and triclosan (an antibacterial ingredient also linked to cancer and endocrine disruption).

Let’s talk fragrance: did you know that about 95% of all synthetic fragrances are petroleum-based?

No wonder we are becoming scentsensitive. Did you also know that pure essential oils are plant-based, and that each oil has many different therapeutic properties? They do!

You may be wondering why I mentioned that most commercial products are packaged in plastic.

Plastic, unlike glass, is not an inert material, and may interact with the contents. Glass is heavier, more expensive and prone to breakage, so plastic becomes the default.

Other commercial ingredients are used for their properties and cost. For example, sodium laurel sulphate is a great foaming agent (check your shampoo and toothpaste, as well as lotions). It is also an industrial degreaser. Polyethylene glycol (PEG) is a petroleum derived chemical used in antifreeze and as a penetrating ingredient in bodycare. It may contain carcinogens like 1,4 dioxane or ethylene oxide.

All this sounds daunting, I am sure, if it the first time you have heard about it. And this article really only skims the surface. But there is good news: you can make your own products. AND it can be a very creative, fun process!

Like our ancestors, we can use plant-based oils and other botanicals which nourish the skin. We can use the thousands of years these natural ingredients have been in use to our advantage: any properties have been tested over time, unlike the ingredients I have mentioned in this article (and there are many more).

You can create something as simple as a moisturizer containing olive or almond oil with essential oil of lavender. Olive oil contains antioxidant vitamins A and E. Almond oil is also rich in A and E, as well as vitamin B (of course, this would not be the oil of choice for someone with a nut allergy).

Lavender essential oil has, among its other properties, skin cell regenerating qualities. Easy AND good for you!

RESPECTFULLY ME Written by Alexis Nicol

H

ow about a little respect! For those of you that remember Rodney Dangerfield a wonderful comedian, this was one of his often used expressions.

When asked about respect we think about someone that we admire and think very highly of. I looked it up in the dictionary, here are a few descriptions: admire, due regard, think highly of, hold in high regard/esteem, revere, honour, respecting the rights of others.

Many years ago when I was at an Ashram at an “intensive”, this is a weekend of meditation and listening to the inspirational words of highly respected spiritual masters. At one point during a meditation we were to telepathically receive a message from the Guru. As I sat and waited, I concentrated on receiving something profound, it seemed to be taking forever and I began to wonder if I was going to get anything – then suddenly I heard loudly and clearly the word “RESPECT”. I immediately thought that our Guru thought I wasn’t being respectful. I snuck a quick peek and sure enough she was looking right at me. I began to blush and feel flustered believing that I was somehow lacking in this department.

Over the years I have gone back to that moment, trying to figure it out. I thought that I have always been a very respectful person, sometimes to the point of being overly admiring. I realize now that I just wanted them to like me. I was just doing it just to be nice - be a good little girl. Boy, talk about being disrespectful!

Things tend to get clear in our moments of distress, don’t you find? One day during a rather frustrating episode in my life I was able to delve deeply into my feelings and emotions and then BINGO the light went on! The person that deserved the respect wasn’t getting it! ME!!!

Why I don’t like meditation Meditation Q & A

Q

: Why don’t I like meditation? When I do meditation, I can not be calm and peaceful. I see my mind like a monkey, jumping around from one thing to another.

All in my mind is just the stuff I want to get rid of. Is meditation supposed to let me calm down and relax?

Why can’t I sit quietly? Why do I feel tired instead?

A: There are 2 points to consider: 1. It’s common that at the beginning we feel this way. Meditation is training and exercising for the mind. Just like any type of exercise. When we start a new form of exercise, our muscles can be sore, we sweat and breathe hard. Even if we set a goal of 100 push-ups, we might want to stop at the number of 50. But we will keep doing it until 100 because we know if we want to get the results we desire, we have to work on it. If we want to have a strong and sharp mind, know how to keep calm and have a stress-free life, we have to put effort into it—do meditation. We will see the rewards very soon. The key is to find an experienced meditation teacher who can show us the way.

2. When we see our mind jumping around, that’s actually a good sign for meditation. This means we begin to be aware of what’s going on in the mind rather than neglecting it. When this awareness begins, then it’s possible to do the next step.

Through the exercise of meditation, we learn how to control our senses instead of letting them be in charge and gradually we are able to concentrate on the goal we choose even in a critical situation.

Again, practice is essential. It is suggested to practice meditation at least once a week, gradually increasing to 2-3 times a week. Even just 5 minutes a day is good. For example, for oral health and to prevent tooth decay, we brush our teeth; for a healthy mind, we do meditation.

Q: Do I have to do meditation in the class? Can I do it myself at home?

A: Yes, we can do meditation by ourselves, any place, any time. Of course, in a group setting, we can share and listen to different experiences from meditation, and the teacher will give helpful suggestions on how to go further on the journey, what obstacles we might face, and how to deal with them. Like, when travelling to an unknown place, it’s always good to have a tour guide.

Guidance to Self-Discovery Channelled by Lisa Virtue

Lesson One

W

e are Lisa’s team of helpers and are here to help you as well, through her channellings.

We would like to start a path of self-discovery with you, if you wish to join us on this extended journey.

I am Annabelle and will initiate this series of lessons.

First, please take a deep breath and settle yourselves into a state of calm relaxation. If you are in a hurry with pressing matters, this is not the time to do this exercise.

Carve out a segment of time just for yourself, to do this.

Very well. We will start with rooting your energy into the Earth’s field. Seek this connection to establish how you relate to that which is around you.

Start with a deep breath in, following the air with your conscious attention down through your body. Feeling it as it penetrates the different portions. Extend the reach of the energy that comes with the breath, through your active visualizations. Consciously directing that energy through the vital organs, through the parts that connect you together, through the muscles and the tissues and the bones. Feeling energy inhaled to each region so that you better identify each of the sections that are your body. This should bring a more settled and flowing feeling.

It is not always mandatory to go further in grounding than this, as you are part of the Earth. Created by its molecules. If this exercise has you feeling the need for further rooting, there are many different methods that people have expressed which may suit you. We have guided Lisa with a more extensive visualization which she has available for you online. She also coaches

personalized methods channelled from we helpers that is best suited for you, which you can take advantage of if you visit her for an appointment.

This is the basic groundwork to further selfdiscovery. We recommend you practice this for the month of November.

Making note the changes you feel when you do this and any shifts of awareness that come over this time period. Having practiced extensively through the month, your next steps then become easier and flow more freely.
