CREATIVITY: WRESTLING WITH OUR DEMONS AND DAEMONS By:Richard M. Haney, M.Ed., Ph.D.

For the Ancient Greeks, it was important to take personal ownership of all the emotions, entities and Spiritual energies that we carry in our daily lives. That included the “dark forces” and destructive energies, as well as the gentle and angelic entities and all the different archetypes in between those two poles.

C.G. Jung also wrote extensively on the concept of “instinctual truth.” He claimed that, although intuition is wrong as often as it is right, instinctual truth is virtually always right. Creative people seem to have “little people” inside of them that guide them in a direction that fits with exactly who they are. They are not fooled by tricksters or impersonators or bizarre fantasies.

They stay true to their own dreams, wishes and inclinations.

They sense when a good entity, project, etc. comes along, and they spontaneously jump right in. They engage with that energy with very strong faith and then follow through with conscious determination and perseverance. They practice “smart work.”

All of these archetypes were called daemons by the Greeks.

When the Christians came along 2,000 years ago, they attempted to cast out the dark side of individuals and proclaimed that it was an “outside demon entity” that drove folks into sin (the Devil).

Thus, personal responsibility was down-played, and redemption, guilt, confession and tithing flourished. The s idea that “the Devil made me do it” was ness l l e widespread. Basically, the Church disw empowered its followers by offering to smokin take care of their dark side ln return for an frui eternal pardon.

The ultimate state for the truly creative person is to be navigating continuously between fate and destiny in cadence with everything around them and maintaining an “ever-vigilant” path. This is called being a fully individuated person. It is not about applying a set of rules or striving for a set of goals. It is a state of being continuously and exactly oneself in each and every situation or event.

When a person has become very adept at wrestling with all of these entities, they are then able to smoothly transition from their fate through to their destiny in a seamless way. They are able to maintain and navigate through a field of very creative life energy.

They become “emotionally available” for creative endeavours and very adept at manifesting their dreams, ideas and inspirations.

They find it very easy to transcend their fears and their lethargy.

At first, the person feels like they are having “sparks of genius” or “flashes of inspiration,” and only later does it become obvious that it is a new creative state of being.

Searching for Freedom An article by Lynne Cardinal

We all long for freedom. I have noticed that there is a current heightened interest in freedom, greatly emphasized by contemporary authors. It is a movement towards freedom which is appealing and needed. Exploring this concept has great value. Today I will look into this notion, from both our current needs and also from ancient philosophical texts, whose principles stood the test of time. Both current and past expressions have a place.

If we think about the experience of freedom, what comes to mind? We perhaps can relate to the experience we may have had while travelling. Visiting another country, we feel quiet inside, content, present. To explore this further, if we look into our mind, we may notice that our entire mental state has turned into a quiet, content “witness”, looking around, maybe exploring a country, and free to do what we want. We calmly observe. This sense has been called in spiritual texts in Sanskrit “Drashtu” or “Witness-self”. Yet since we can’t travel all the time and more so because there’s no guarantee that each day will be blissful while travelling, we wonder how to stay connected with this sense of freedom.

In our daily lives, we can also experience freedom. Per example, when our mind experiences a sense of timelessness and contentment, we feel free. When we get what we want, we experience a sense of freedom, a respite from desires and hankering. When we feel loved and accepted, our mind is present and we feel content and free. Whatever triggers it, the experience of freedom is one that we love and long for. Yet, if we don’t get what we want, if we feel restricted, unloved, or even disrespected, we lose this sense of freedom.

We can’t always get what we want, or at least not permanently. The question then becomes: “how can we feel free, and remain free?” It is a complex and deep topic, and a worthwhile exploration.

We usually do experience a sense of freedom and ease when our needs are met. This seems obvious, but bear with me, it is more important to understand this then perhaps is realized. When our desires are fulfilled, we feel great, but it is problematic as everything changes, and not always according to our preferences. Even if we understand that freedom is a state of mind, when our life is challenged and things don’t go our way, it is difficult to remain feeling free. Even if at all cost, we want to honor our own preferences and personal needs, the satisfaction and sense of freedom remains limited, and above all, transitory.

The Yoga Sûtras of Patanjali simplifies it. Patanjali invites us to reach for the part of our mind that rests deep inside as an observer, or a “Witness-Self”; that this is the way to freedom. At our core, there is peace, as abiding behind mind and body, rests a vast ocean of calmness. I find that the daily practice of meditation helps to remain connected with this sense of true freedom. Sometimes it takes a longer meditation, especially if we are being challenged in our daily lives. Just like diving deeper into the ocean not to feel the waves and storm raging to experience peace and clarity. I find that leaving our world momentarily, with all its complexity, to rest and experience a liberation from mental turmoil leads us to true freedom. As the years go by, meditation generates a change that is profound. Sometimes we need to use other modalities, like psychotherapy, mentoring, or hypnosis, to address blockages, or past hurt we may be carrying. It is possible to use this life-time to grow towards peace, freedom from mental confusion, chaos and pain, and ultimately towards love.

A WRITER’S DREAM by: Ian Prattis

It happens – that moment when unexpectedly your writing receives glowing confirmation. Luckily I have had a taste of that. At a writer’s retreat, the facilitator who had read my book Redemption spoke of it that it was not so much a read but as if she were listening to music. The cadence of the writing struck her forcibly. I often describe Redemption as an extended prose poem but like her musical note more. Then a phone call that Trailing Sky Six Feathers received the Quill Award from Focus on Women Magazine, an advocacy group for women’s issues worldwide. I was delighted that the first award for this book came from a women’s group. Other awards include Gold for Redemption at the 2015 Florida Book Festival, Silver for Environment from the 2014 Living Now Literary Awards for Failsafe; Saving the Earth From Ourselves. There was the 2019 Gold from the eLit Excellence Awards. I received the 2011 Ottawa Earth Day Environment Award and in 2018 the Yellow Lotus award from the Vesak Project for spiritual guidance and teaching dharma. Also my book “Shattered Earth” received the 2020 Gold Medal from the eLit Excellence Awards.

When a reviewer hits the mark it is a big wow when they seem to read your mind. Julia Ann Charpentier in her review must have been sitting right there. She describes Redemption, “An admirable command of language brings to every scene a striking visual clarity… The novel falls into the realm of timeless storytelling… This eye-opening book will be a memorable experience for anyone who enjoys reading about primordial tendencies. Beneath a polished urban facade remains a part of human nature that few want to acknowledge, either due to fear or simply because it is easier to deny the basic instincts that have kept us alive on an unforgiving earth.”

A wonderful cap to all this musing was recent when I went to send some books through the Post Office. The young woman at the counter had posted many of the packages of books I had sent to competitions and I always gave a copy to her to read. She gave me a big hug and told me that the book - Trailing Sky Six Feathers - had changed her life. This is really why I write. I told her that the final bookend of the trilogy takes characters from the two books she has read and places them on a new planet in the immediate future. I gave her that book.

My expeditions to the post office are a highlight for me these days.

According to the Government of Canada’s Seniors’ Falls in Canada Infographic (2015), 20-30% of older adults fall at least once each year, and that falls cause 85% of senior’s injury-related hospitalizations. Those numbers are staggering and affect all of us since, even if you are not a senior, you will have seniors in your family, neighbourhood, etc.

The good news is that falls are often preventable with simple changes. Here are ten low-cost tips that you can do to prevent falls right now: 1. Activity – Remaining active and moving more helps maintain balance and strength.

2. Sleep – Getting enough quality sleep ensures you are not tired, so you maintain your awareness of the potential fall risks around you.

3. Footwear - Wearing quality shoes that fit well inside and outside ensures you have solid footing wherever you are.

4. Tripping hazards – Removing tripping hazards (such as loose rugs or clutter on floors and stairs) ensures you have clear paths around your home.

5. Cane or walker – Having a cane or walker readily available, even if you don’t need it all the time, will ensure you have a helping support on those days that you are more tired, for example.

In a time of crisis, the impulse is to give into fear, concern, and panic, which will engender an epidemic of soul sickness. Awaken the Truth Vibration with Love

W

hen someone takes it upon themselves to be truthful it’s a recognition that these energies are abiding by the natural laws of God, and therefore, will be supported as such. When someone decides that the truth is better withheld and that lies and deceptions should be placed into the consciousness of others, this is a deliberate attempt to thwart what is true and the cornerstone of all life on earth.

We must see these opposing forces now and choose from them. It’s not always easy to see what is what because at times what is false appears to be true and what is true appears to be false. So how does one know what to believe?

The heart is the barometer for the truth seeker. In the heart there exists an exquisite mechanism that vibrates and awakens with life, and life aligns with truth. In other words, what resonates as truth is an indication that energy is moving into the expansion of consciousness: it takes that energy into another level of revelation for all to see. The darkness in the path of this Light dissolves because the truth that is aligned with God illuminates it. The darkness that is hidden, deceiving, and wiping away the God-given right to gnosis is dispersed by simply acknowledging what is true to the heart.

So, as we face the demons that are still reluctant to let go, and desperate to maintain their hold in our reality, we must remember that the love of the heart will conquer the darkness in any battle. The love of the heart, the Divine Mother Within, the Divine Father Within, the Christ-Sophia Within, this Holy Trinity, this magnanimous force of infinite grace is ushering in a new Earth now. If we choose this, if everyone chooses this, the journey ahead is so completely effortless.

But this is wishful thinking, in that everyone’s heart and everyone’s journey is different. But do not worry about others as much yourself.

Take such good care of your heart that darkness has nothing on which to feed. Take such healing to your heart that it can deflect any attempt to destroy you and return you to the tyranny that created its hurt, and the disconnection. Fear not the darkness. Now everybody’s heart will be a little different because its history is very complex. Where our soul has travelled, our genetics, our experiences, and purpose all influence our heart. Also influencing our heart is our hurt. Heart scars come from unhealed pain and heartbreak, and unhealed torture to the heart. While this sounds severe it’s without doubt part of the human experience to have known this torture - this separation from God, the evil that wants to defy goodness.

So the heart requires tender, healing love in order to shed the pain, to flourish, and to know its truth.

If everyone were to stay focused in their heart, it might be said that there would be a great deal of work to be done. A lot of inner healing would be underway to move beyond the frequency fences.

And yet, if everyone stayed in their heart it would dissolve the darkness. The darkness can’t co-exist with compassion, respect, unconditional love, gentleness, forgiveness and with the intention to lift someone up into the Light. This is why we all came to this Earth. To do exactly this. To learn this. To remember this.

Introduction to Unity: The Power of Wisdom

Where knowledge is our recall of information, wisdom is applied knowledge: our ability to make decisions through mental evaluation, spiritual discernment and moment-by-moment intuition.

We experience the Power of Wisdom in body, mind and spirit. As Unity co-founder Charles Fillmore wrote in The Twelve Powers of Man: In the body, conclusions are reached through experience; in intellect, reason is the assumed arbiter of every question; in spirit, intuition and inspiration bring the quick and sure answer to all the problems of life.

Wisdom is comprised of the following three factors: Judgment The original name for the Power of Wisdom, as assigned by Fillmore, was judgment, which he defined as “the mental act of evaluation through comparison or contrast” (The Revealing Word).

Judgment is fundamental to the process of making decisions. In the 20th century, judgment became Wisdom so as not to confuse it with divine judgment. We believe that the Day of Judgment occurs every day as we evaluate ourselves, asking “what is the right thing to do?”

We will know that we have judged correctly, with Wisdom, when our decisions lead us to a state of peace, harmony and well-being.

Discernment When making decisions, discernment is the ability to rely on principles rather than on facts. In Unity, discernment is achieved though questioning, meditating and envisioning. The practice of discernment also involves allowing time for a question or an idea to simmer underneath the conscious mind. In this way, impressions and meaning will come to awareness in due time, allowing us to make good decisions.

Intuition Have you ever experienced either an “aha!” or an “uh-oh” moment? If you have, your intuition is probably behind the experience.

Our intuition is our inner guidance system, a GPS that expresses itself to help us access our Wisdom. We may have a “gut feeling” or hear an inner voice and we know exactly what we have to do without labouring over the decision.

here’s no question: we’re in a spiritual war between the Light and dark. The restrictions we’re experiencing didn’t begin a few months ago. We’ve been suppressed for thousands of years, not just by service-to-self humans but those extraterrestrials who provide the material and energetic resources to uphold the anti-life agenda. When Earth was invaded and our consciousness fell there began a long history of systematic control of humanity. To realize our freedom we have to see the game at play: name and heal what’s keeping us in consciousness lockdown.

OUR JOURNEY WITH ADHD AND ANXIETY by: Chris Peacock Our Journey with ADHD and Anxiety I’m often asked if NeurOptimal® Neurofeedback will help with ADHD. This type of neurofeedback is brain training, so it doesn’t treat any specific disorder. That being said, as the nervous system settles over a series of sessions, all sorts of symptoms and issues, including those related to ADHD, start to fade away.

Our Story

Learning

Our son has ADHD and, in hindsight, I now know he was highly anxious as well. His first response to trying new things, doing schoolwork, participating in activities was a resounding “no”. He was irritated and distracted by all sorts of sounds in the classroom. He had difficulty transitioning from one activity to the next. Internally, it was like his insides were irritated all the time. That’s because his nervous system was always revving very high, so it took very little to set him off. Trying to contain himself all day at school took every bit of energy he had so when he came home he had no resources left and evenings were tough to say the least. We tried all sorts of treatments, nutrition, supplements and eventually turned to medication to help him function more easily at home and at school.

Our Neurofeedback Journey It took us quite some time to warm up to the idea of trying NeurOptimal® Neurofeedback but we finally took the leap and we’ve never looked back. After several sessions we started to see shifts. The sensory overload he experienced, pencils tapping on desks, chairs moving back and forth didn’t set him off nearly as much. We were able take him to movie theatres or events where there were lots of people, and he asked to join a sports team. He hadn’t been able to manage these activities for several years. As a family, we were able to play board games again as he didn’t have a meltdown every time he started to lose. His marvellous sense of humour started to emerge as he felt more confident about himself. Because his brain was now able to do what the medication was doing, in collaboration with his physician, he was able to be on less medication.

As parents, we also did regular sessions and as our nervous systems calmed we found we had much more capacity to problem solve rather than react and the quality of our family life improved immensely.

Was NeurOptimal® a “magic pill”? Absolutely not. We

continued to access other methods over the years to help our son and ourselves function at our best. Learning the collaborative problem solving model as a behaviour strategy was hugely helpful as children with special needs don’t respond well to rewards and consequences. I now know that when our nervous system is overloaded for long periods of time, it gets stuck in the fight, flight or freeze response, and can’t shut off. When stuck, it takes very little to send us over the top into reaction and we have very little capacity to problem solve. We know the tools we need to use to calm ourselves down – breathing, yoga, exercise, meditation, mindfulness – but when our system is in overload, it’s like those tools are over on an island and we have no transportation to get there! Move it or lose it - Increase your intelligence through DANCE. by: Penny Lee Prevost

A

ccording to a study in The Arts in Psychotherapy, implementation of music to movement = MAGIC, well to me anyway! Really, scientific studies of aging seniors reports significant impact in prevention of dementia and Alzhimers, as well as decrease of anxiety and depression in seniors and youth when music is combined with movement.

Whether you are 7 or 70, dancing is one of the best movement practices you can engage in.

As The Dancing Motivator, I do exactly that! Adding FUN and FREEDOM to every online and offline event. Beginning and ending workshops with movement to music creates a truly magical experience while adding new neuropathways to help retain the new knowledge and gaining vitality too Dr. Martin Katzman,the Clinic Director and Staff Psychiatrist at the S.T.A.R.T. Clinic (Stress, Trauma, Anxiety, Rehabilitation and Treatment) for Mood and Anxiety Disorders, put an emphasis on the complexity of our neuronal synapses: “More is better. Do whatever you can to create new neural paths.” Dance at home in your living room daily 3 times a day for only 5 minutes if needed.

At a recent Jack Canfield conference, he had us do the “Bounce and Shake”. This is a similar concept, however the different movements are the key in dance.

The opposite of this we might recognize as insanity “Doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result.” - Albert Einstien.

For example, pacing back and forth over the same path, wearing out the ground cover due to repetition. Doing the same movement over and over causes the mind to lose the connection over time.

This same concept applies to creating new steps in a dance to trigger new ways of moving the body to cause a new habit pattern known as “habitual patterns of thinking and living”. However, dancing causes the mind to easily accept new paths triggering new connections. Changing steps along the way is key during the dance and not continuous repetitive motions like the Waltz,square dancing or line dancing for example.

Creating a new “stepping stone” habit of positive change can give you daily success.

Seasonal Purging by: Tony Gyenis

T

he recent pandemic has led us to spend more time at home.

We have baked, tending to the outdoor gardens, completed puzzles, and found new ways to connect to others. The global focus on health and well-being has led many down the path of increased spiritual awareness. For those seeking means to understand more about themselves and their relationship with themselves, look not within but at the items you fill your living space with.

The truth is our possessions can give insight to who we are and what we fear. Our possessions try to fulfill something within us. This is not in reference to our basics such as a table for dining or a bed for sleeping; rather it is the elements that we have that have minimal use in our lives but yet we continue to hold onto them. It is these things that have more control over us than we would like as we feel a need where in everyday living, they do not fill a need.

When we accept we have more than what we need, a spiritual growth process begins. Decluttering with intention can bring such joy when rooted in listening to your instinct to determine if the relationship with an item has ended.

When it’s your turn for the cleansing process it will come and without much warning. It’s like you get a weird taste in your mouth and your stomach gets queasy and you just have that something going on that cannot be fully explained. You just feel a need to go through your possessions and lighten it.

The whole process of purging material possessions can be remarkably freeing. It serves as a metaphor for freeing oneself from personality traits and character dynamics that is no longer in service. We pile ‘stuff’ up in the basement of home and in our psyche. Sometimes we forget we even put it there. Sometimes we do not know where else to put it. But facing your relationship with your stuff can mean letting go of the very person we think we are and opening the door to who we are meant to be.

Discard If the answer is no, thank it for the time it has spent with you and discard it.

Trigger Happiness If what you are holding does trigger happiness, keep it!

Place When what you have is what brings joy, store everything of one type of thing together. This way, you will know where to look when you need it, thus gaining the precious resource of time. It also aids in putting stuff away, which will help you maintain a tidy home.

Of course, some things will not “spark joy,” but they are necessary.

Some things will spark joy but are totally unnecessary. The goal is not to be bereft of all things, but to appreciate and be joyful with what is around you. Most of all, do everything with joy. Do not view any process as a chore or it will not serve you and grant you your intention.

In this holiday season approach this time with lightness in your heart so you are not carrying the weight of previous years forward into a new year. The celebrations, family connections and gatherings will be different this year due to the distance we have to set for these gatherings. By purging your unwanted items you will have a greater connection with yourself this year which may make all the difference.

Here are some tips from professional organizers to get you started, for when you are ready to take your journey: Sort Gather everything of one type together. Sort by category, not room, in part to experience the overabundance of that item. This helps eliminate duplicates or outdated versions of an item.

Ask Pick up one item at a time and ask yourself, “Does this ‘thing’ trigger happiness in me?”

HOW TO DEAL WITH CHALLENGES THE DIVINE WAY by: Diane Oliver

T

here is much confusion about spirituality and the Divine-God. What do you use as a measuring rod in deciding if something is “of God” or not?

First, let’s establish that there is a difference between the God as defined by religion and the Divinity that beats your heart. One is man-made, the other is You, your Highest Self, your Native Spirit. The man-made religion-God is changeable and depending on your faith, has different messages for you, including around money.

Creation stories all have common denominators: we come from and go back to, the Heart of Divinity - we are made in Its image and likeness.

This is who we are. We too are benign, generous, harmless Goodness. For whatever reason, Divinity gave us the gift of free choice or free will. It was not necessary – yet, a gift was still given.

In a Hawaiian creation story, an apple tree was the gift. The couple was told they did not need it. The tree was called “thinking”. The Divine left them and when It came back, the vibration was different. When the couple was asked “what happened?” Adam answered “she made me do it!”

Instead of acknowledging a mistake was made and accepting responsibility for his actions, Adam blamed Eve. We are still engaging in the memory of that blame game today. Until that moment, there were no memories – only Love. What happens if we disconnect from and stop honouring bad memories?

Whatever choices we make, the consequences come back to us in kind – all of them. This means that if you send gossip or racism out, these will come back to you - Life is never linear. When we act, we send out a cause, it circles around and comes back to us as a consequence - but we have forgotten that we ever sent it out or don’t know someone in our lineage has sent it and its up for transmutation through us – we can understand that we don’t associate the problem with ourself. Because of the time lapse, rather than see an opportunity for healing, we see a punishment from Nature or a mean “God”.

What we are not taught is that the only way to break the seal attached to a memory is our willingness to surrender it to Divinity, asking for transmutation and transcendence.

Divinity cannot take away our fear or poverty or depression. It can only heal what is behind the fear, the poverty, the depression, etc. The best thing to say when trouble hits, is “I DON’T KNOW WHAT’S BEHIND ALL OF THIS BUT I’M SURE READY TO LET IT GO. CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME?” This comment alone can disconnect the memory.

Some will say “I didn’t sign up for this!”, when indeed you have. We volunteered to come back at this time in history to be “transmuters of unresolved energy”. We have such a deep-rooted connection to the Power of pure, 100%, Eternal Love, our own Divinity, that we came into this mess knowing that just by being here, our Life vibration would make a big difference energetically speaking. Never forget that.

We were warned that it would not be easy, but if we remembered to consciously ask for Divinity’s intercession and intervention, things would change.

You have the power in you and you have permission from Divinity to ask for help. It’s time to let go and let the Divine God”.

TRANSMUTERS OF MISGUIDED ENERGY: ENERGETIC FORGIVENESS AS TAUGHT BY ME. 1) We need to accept our part in the situation without guilt or shame or self-blame or anger, or any other negative attitude. Ask to learn how to stop judging yourself and others. Why? Because when you judge, you turn your Divinity off and allow the human base thinking to take over. This is a profound teaching.

2) Call a truce upon all memories tied to the problem at hand, their attachments and expectations for yourself and all people concerned. You could imagine letting go, by putting “the garbage” into a box, that you hand over to Divinity once you’ve released all the garbage you can think of.

3) The Universe cannot stand a void - immediately start feeling, sensing, breathing the positive energy you long for - such as peace, abundance, happiness in all aspects of your life, etc. Open the door for Divinity to fill in the rest through your Heart. Really feel it throughout your entire being. (This is true prayer.)

4) Once you have the vibrational experience of what it is you want that is positive and constructive, you now have the choice: do you want your old garbage back or are you willing to let it go and accept the new vibrations?

5) You must make a conscious choice and say out loud, “I will to accept the new.”

6) Once you do this consciously, the records are collapsed, the healing is complete for you, your family, your relatives, your ancestors, the environment and society. When you heal, the planet heals. It is that simple.

I came across BodyTalk while in the mountains in BC and have never looked back in my work. For many years I suffered from lung problems, always had colds. While in BC I had a BodyTalk session and the grief that was released was unbelievable. When I was 4 years old I was playing in the yard and my best friend a brown spaniel, ran into the path of a car and I watched him die right before my eyes.

In BodyTalk - Lungs hold grief. Fast forward, no more lung problems, the trauma had been released.

SEASONAL AFFECTIVE DISORDER

W

e all heard about Seasonal Affective Disorder years ago.

Media reported that people affected by S.A.D. need more daylight in winter to ward off depression. We all got the message that being outside on a sunny winter day is uplifting.

It is not as commonly known that S.A.D. also involves mania.

S.A.D. is not always sad, but it is always bipolar.

At its root, S.A.D. is the brain’s inability to regulate light coming in through the eyes. Light affects moods. S.A.D. can be caused by eye surgery and can appear later in life. It can be of varying degrees or severity.

Most people agree that they have more energy in spring / summer, and they feel slower or heavier in fall / winter. I think of this as a natural tendency toward hibernation. Circadian rhythms and biological clocks are cued by the sun. A time to sow and grow is followed by a time to harvest and rest. Traditionally, we have needed more energy for the long days of work and less energy for the dark days of rest. I wonder if the sun actually feeds our needs by giving us more energy in summer.

The most dangerous time for people with S.A.D. is spring.

When manic episodes alternate with depression, a person can become suicidal. After all, impulse control is a manic symptom and the spring roller coaster ride is worthy of despair. (T.S. Elliot, who had S.A.D., wrote: “April is the cruellest month.”)

The best way to interrupt the whole S.A.D. cycle is to stop the mania by wearing a sleep mask all summer. You will need 10 - 11 hours of darkness each night. (This means lying in bed in the morning with that mask on even though you want to jump into the day at dawn). If you are very manic, you must force sleep and wear sunglasses, even indoors.

As the days shorten, the sleep masks (or black out curtains) can be discarded as you try to get 12 hours light for your brain and 12 hours dark. As winter comes on, this must be accomplished by adding sunlight to your day with lightbulbs and outdoor activity.

‘Course you could always just move near the equator. Sun rises and sets every day at 6:30.

Anyone who has suffered from jetlag will attest to the discomfort of being out of sync with the sun. S.A.D. causes withdrawal or sadness or outright depression, starting around fall equinox. This can affect performance, sleep and appetite during winter. Spring Equinox is the most stressful time as days lengthen and short bouts of mania can appear. The mania increases until summer solstice and continues right into the fall.

Mania is not always happy. Let’s be clear- mania is a busy-ness, a feeling of being driven, and although that can be positive, it can also be full of angst. It can be frantic or unfocused. Appetite and sleep are sacrificed, and sometimes, sleep is just not possible.

Now for the wonderful news: pharmaceuticals are not required.

S.A.D. can be effectively addressed by regulating light and dark on the brain’s behalf. As with jetlag, this can be accomplished with activity, light exposure and avoidance.

“LOOK & FIX”- AN ENERGY HEALING METHOD

I

use muscle-testing and clairvoyance to communicate with a person’s energy (or the energy of a plant, disabled child, unborn infant, pet anything alive can communicate).

Once communication is established, the energy will tell me what to remove and how to do it. Usually I am asked to remove old stuck emotions, dysfunctional energy, foreign energy and sometimes, an echo from a past life.

The client’s energy always tells me what to do; I don’t decide anything on my own. (I think that’s why my healing is so effective- I do no thinkingI just follow the energy’s direction. This energy is sometimes called Higher Self or soul or Universal Knowledge, but it is the part of a living being that doesn’t die. It understands what the client needs better than both of us put together.)

I named one of the methods that I use “Look & Fix.” I use clairvoyance to see the state of the client’s energy. I might see colours. For example, a cloud of red around a throat is usually unexpressed anger. I can easily remove these things when I see them, often with my hands. Usually, I see images that represent something else.

Things I’ve removed from clients’ energy: - items tied to throats- chains, strings, scarves, locks. (Represent someone else’s control over them, inability to express...)

- many things on feet- heavy boots, cement blocks, chains tying feet together (inability to move forward, paralysis, obstacles...)

- monsters (foreign energy, traumatic events, fears...)

- a broken car (car accident trauma) - ice picks pointing to the body (irritation)

- a large open umbrella (once needed for protection but now preventing intimacy) Sometimes the energy holds wonderful images that it wants to keep.

Things I have been directed to not remove: - happy clouds - musical instruments (represent a love of music- harps, guitars, pianos, orchestras, musical scales) - the faces of children and babies (seem to be memories of love) - flowers, fields of green, trees, meadows, vast pastures of white flowers - wings - animals (often identify themselves as totems or temporary helpers, often bringing a message, frequently it is Bear, Wolf, Butterfly, Turtle, or Frog) Clients report a reduction in symptoms: - a single woman reports not swearing on the Queensway anymore. “It’s not like the anger is suppressed. It’s just not there now. I can sing in a traffic jam.”

- an older man is no longer insomniac.

- pain reduced for many clients - an easier time dealing with addiction issues- a woman who had quit drinking still had cues in her energy and when these were removed, she had fewer urges and cravings.

- a baby who cried excessively started crying 50% less immediately after his healing.

- animals with teeth, open jaws, claws (attacks usually by people)

- unreasonable jealousy is no longer threatening a young adult’s romantic relationship.

- deep water- I see the client in a tub or lake (sadness)

- less anxiety and better sleep for a busy single mom.

- brown hole in the ground, often client trying to climb out or fingers clinging to the edge (depression) - balloons of all colours (I am directed to pop them or cut them loose. They seem to be old experiences that need to be let go.)

- ropes and strings like a marionette (someone else pulling the strings, lack of control)

Your Books are the Story of Your Business by: Liz M Raymond

T

he last thing some entrepreneurs hate to hear me talk about is their bookkeeping. Some snear in disgust at the thought of it, some get nauseous and yes, there are some that get absolutely excited about it. Many think doing your books is solely for the purpose of doing your taxes. Although that is an important aspect of doing your books. Keeping you out of CRA jail, avoiding late filing penalties and interest can be a strong motivator for some to do their books.

How will you know if you haven’t missed anything?? Grab your bank statements (this includes PayPal/Stripe/Square account statements) and credit card statements - is there anything here that you haven’t included on one of your lists?

I’m here today to share a new perspective.

If you waiver on any expenses and have any doubt, play it safe and omit it. This time is not the time to play Russian Roulette. Want to be absolutely sure? Reach out to someone like myself (a Business Financial LIteracy Coach) or a trusted bookkeeper.

We all gave birth to our businesses because we had a skill, service or product that we were passionate about and knew that there are people “out there” that absolutely needed it! For me it was a skill I was naturally good at - bookkeeping - it was my freedom from the chains of employment and provided me the flexibility to do single parenthood on my own terms. Now that my children are grown I get to do what I truly love - work with creative entrepreneurs to step into financial independence with confidence and vigar. Seeing women succeed in their businesses, creating the lives they desire fills my heart with joy!

Ladies, your books are the story of your business. Would you like that story to be a true biography or fiction? We can’t know everything (Lord knows I don’t) that’s why it’s important to find someone who fills a void (like financial literacy). I know what you are thinking…. I don’t understand that accounting mambo jumbo and the last time I talked to an accountant, I left there more confused than when I walked in. It doesn’t have to be like that!

Tracking all that appears on your lists will essentially help you write the story of your business.

There are no dumb questions, only the act of courage to ask for help. Feeling the fear and doing it anyway - the action of doing is the true meaning of Courage! Embrace Business Financial Literacy this month, and start writing the biography of your business!!
