UNLEASHED GREED…THE BIRTHING OF PANDEMICS

grew up in the Roxbury ghetto in Boston amidst extreme poverty, oppression, and violence.

I learned first-hand the incredible cost of human greed and usury. The majority of the people I grew up with were either African-Americans, the grandchildren of former slaves, or Jewish people, who had survived the Nazi concentration camps. At 19, I was a volunteer with the NAACP working on anti-lynching laws. Even back then, I remember feeling quite perturbed by the song, “The Day They Drove Ol’ Dixie Down”. I cringed at the thought that one day the rage and hatred in that song would inevitably manifest itself. And then, with the election of Donald Trump in 2016, the revenge of the south was unleashed upon us.

f we look closely at the administration that has hijacked the White House, we see that it is almost an exact replica of the typical southern plantation of the 1800’s. It is all about the accumulation and hoarding of vast amounts of wealth by a small group of rich “landowners”, all of whom are in favour of maximizing profits while keeping down the cost of wages and health care for the workers, or modern-day slaves. It also maximizes the “divide and conquer” principle of control by polarizing one group against another, which, in a way, is another form of “social distancing”.

verything I have been involved in for over 50 years has been about starting sustainable communities, cooperatives, schools, and support groups. I “spark-plugged” the first highly successful Karma Natural Food Co-operative in Toronto in 1972, which is still going strong. Jane Jacobs, the famous urbanologist, who wrote the book, “The Death and Life of Great American Cities”, was one of the first members and ardent supporters of Karma Co-op. A decade earlier Jane had led the movement to stop the commercial development of Central Park in New York City.

What an appropriate title for Jane’s book, given the outbreak of the current pandemic and its impact on major American cities! She once said, ”What we need is a Karma Co-op in every neighbourhood in the world.” How about in Syria, Afghanistan, Rwanda, Wuhan, etc.? Local initiatives instead of mass migration, teeming refugee camps, and povertystricken people eating unsafe food and drinking contaminated water.

The American concept of “the pursuit of happiness” has been corrupted by greedy millionaires and billionaires to mean more and more money and material objects. When he was writing his book, “The Wealth of Nations”, Adam Smith could not have foreseen what was coming: the extent of environmental destruction, the spread of global pandemics, and the degradation of human living conditions by unleashed population growth, diminishing resources, increased global travel, and the wide-spread use of on-line marketing and purchasing by hordes of materialistic consumers. What we need is a Social-National Product, or an SNP, which is a combination of the GNP and social and environmental factors. In this context, it is important to notice that the word “economics” combines both human and financial components.

In his book, “The Turning Point”, Fritjof Capra suggests that, at some point in evolution, a major “paradigm shift” can take place, and, at that time, a major change is possible. The hype of the Trump fantasy on the so-called “reality t.v.” and the Fox propaganda network are sure signs of this turning point.

They are so far out of touch with any definition of reality that people can no longer afford to be seduced into believing their “fake news”. Folks everywhere are demanding to know the truth about this unbelievably destructive pandemic. The emperor now has no clothes. We are on the verge of a huge societal change. Let us all work to make sure that it is for the better!

Are We Grounded Enough?

It isn’t easy to deal with the experiences of fear and helplessness when facing this current viral pandemic, and when we still wish to be reasonably informed, watch some news or read articles online. How to stay calm and grounded, yet still remain informed? In truth there are two main causes of stress, one is the outer generated stress and the other is the inner generated stress.

In regards to the outer generated stress, we may be able to help this current situation, by being organized and self-isolate, as is recommended. However, the inner stress is just as important.

There are 3 main levels of coping with our inner stress or anxiety: 1.

Accept your anxiety as it is natural to experience it under the current circumstances. Also, it is good to understand that this anxiety is a combination of personal and collective fear and concern. The magnitude of our current situation is such that it reveals that we are never separated. The entire planet is facing a crisis and we feel the predicament of our brothers and sisters, more than ever. Yet, accepting our states while acknowledging them, is calming. It is giving ourselves permission to feel and to allow the emotions to come, observe them with compassion, and then let them go. It is natural to feel; to try to stifle our feelings is a type of postponement of our feelings that will lead to future physical or mental issues.

Changes are always unsettling. Currently, we are looking at an actual paradigm shift as the COVID-19 pandemic was sudden and it carries with it a great deal of fear and doubt. Will I lose my business? Will I get sick? Will I have enough food? How long will it last? Changes are at the core of this state of anxiety, changes are never easy. Even a positive change is stressful, like moving into a beautiful home. Understanding that all changes carry a certain level of adaptation is calming. It’s normal and we can deal with this. One way is to look at our thought patterns and by changing our thoughts to useful wiser thoughts, such as: “I can deal with this,” or “This phase will pass,” or “I can do this.”

This may appear simple, but it is a practice, and though it takes time to master it, it is extremely valuable.

On a deeper level rests an existential fear.

In our current society, we avoid talking about death. Yet, it is an unavoidable part of life. Can we look at our existence and acknowledge that everything is transitory. Can we then move deeper, away from triviality, into the heart of our soul? Can we ask ourselves core questions, an inquiry that existed from time immemorial, and that is the essence of all contemplative practices: “Who am I?” and “What is my essence?”. In my experience, this inquiry along with a regular practice of meditation helps us to stay grounded, calm, and present. It also enhances compassion, humility, and gratitude. It makes us kinder, more human. It leads to feeling a natural grounded state, as our heart stays open, and our mind clear and present.

COVID – 19 and Walking Meditation by: Dr. Ian Prattis

A

nxiety and fear provide the internal Coronavirus.

It overwhelms practices to calm and meditate. It is often impossible to sit and meditate, but we can walk with normal breaths for 15 minutes – in our home, in our back yard, or around our streets – making sure we honor distance from others.

We know from our experience of hikes in nature, or neighborhood walks after dinner, that sudden flashes of insight often arise in concert with our footsteps. We then see clearly how to handle a predicament or solve a problem. Imagine what can happen when we add conscious awareness to our footsteps. When we concentrate on our breath and focus on slow walking, we actually have a brilliant piece of engineering to quiet the mind and body. When we add a third concentration – aware of how our feet touch the earth – we have a meditative practice designed for our times. We focus our mind on the mechanism of each foot touching the earth – heel, then the ball of the foot, then toe. We slow down even further and with our body – not our intellect or ego – we make a contract with Mother Earth to leave a smaller footprint. We examine our consumption patterns and energy use. All from walking with awareness, our breath, our legs, and noticing how our feet touch the earth.

With this concentrated focus of walking meditation, there is very little opportunity for the mind to worry about past events or future anticipations. The meditation keeps us present, here in the moment of being fully alive. It slows us down step by step so that our mind enters silence. This is aided by another component we can add to walking meditation – a gentle half-smile to nurture the peace and silence within. With the deepening of this internal silence, insight naturally occurs.

Walking meditation is a powerful methodology for healing ourselves.

We start by breathing in and out with full attention to the in-breath and to the out-breath. Co-ordinating our breath with our steps we breathe in, saying silently to ourselves – “Breathing in” - as we take two or three slow steps. Then as we breathe out, we say – “Breathing out” – as we simultaneously take two or three slow steps. Practice this for several minutes just to get used to the concentration and the co-ordination of breath and steps and be fully aware of breathing in and out, and of walking slowly step by step. Sometimes you will take two steps, sometimes three or four steps, sometimes there will be more steps on the out-breath than on the in-breath. Allow the breath and lungs to find a natural rhythm with your steps. It is the concentration and awareness that matters, not whether you take two or three steps, but do remember to wear a half-smile on your lips!

If you take two steps with the in-breath, say to yourself – “Breathing in” (on step 1), “In” (on step 2).

If you take three steps on the out-breath, say to yourself – “Breathing out” (on step 1), “Out” (on step 2), “Out” (on step 3).

As you take each step, you can add a concentration that brings you solidly into contact with the earth. Concentrate on your foot touching the ground in this sequence – heel, ball of the foot, toe. This particular concentration assists you to be fully with your stepping on the earth, keeping you alert to earth rhythms.

At Carleton University where I used to teach, I would walk from the bus stop and take a detour around the greenhouses of the Botany department and come to the Rideau River that runs along one side of the campus. From there I had a kilometer of the riverbank to practice walking meditation before arriving at my office building. It is quite secluded in parts and the river has sets of rapids that greatly enrich my walk. One section of the path took my steps through a cedar grove, and I always felt a sacred blessing from these beautiful trees.

I slow my walking right down to a three – three rhythm when I enter the cedar grove. The path is never the same, as the seasons change its character. Autumn leaves give way to snowfall as winter leaves her embrace. My clothes and footwear change, yet my steps, breathing, and feet touching the earth remain constant. The rustle of autumn leaves is replaced by the crunch of snow and ice, which gives way to the mud and rain of spring before the heat of summer allows me to walk in sandals or barefoot. The birds and foliage change with the seasons, as does the river – iced over in winter, turbulent in the spring, and calm in summer and fall. Students with their books and friends congregate by the river when the weather is sunny.

I notice the changes in the seasonal round of nature, yet remain with my breathing, footsteps, and the earth – so that I am not drawn into unnecessary thought. It takes me approximately twenty minutes to arrive at my office. I am in a clear, calm state and better able to be of assistance to students and colleagues and bring my own sense of calm and clarity to the university. On leaving the university I retrace my steps of walking meditation along the river before going home, or to appointments in the city. The experience engenders the same calm and clarity. This walk is Paradise, and a constant reminder to me for those occasions when I am not in touch with the earth mother.

We do not need to walk on water, or over hot coals.

We simply need to walk on the earth and touch her deeply with our full awareness. That is all that walking meditation is.

“Holy Spirit Heal These Fear Based Thoughts!” by: Diane Oliver

I

n difficult times, when we feel we are being pushed to the limit, many people wonder where God is and why is it, if It is a benign God, that such hardships are upon us now?

Do you know of the gift of the Law of Free Will?

This is a universal law, which means it applies to everyone, without exception, whether you believe in it or not. “The Divine God will not influence or interfere in your choicemaking on Earth unless invited through your own conscious, free will request.”

Here’s the conundrum – our Earth Walk is bittersweet. You come from the Heaven-Realm where there are no opposites and are slated to return there. Our Earth-Walk is a sacred adventure in duality, of being a spirit having a human experience of choice making and mistake correcting. It is intended to include, out of our own free will, the Divine God as our partner, not through religion but through the proper use of our Intuition.

As Human Beings, we need to adapt to the lower frequency of being “human” while not forgetting our sacred vibration. We must learn about contrasts and opposites – the duality of earthly life. As we do, we are expected to start making our own free will choices in order to see what happens when we do this or that. We learn that sometimes our choices produce harmfulness. If we decide to stop repeating the harmful decision, the mistake is erased.

If you get a bad rap from someone, you have the free choice to either forgive or retaliate. If you engage in forgiveness, the result is a blessing. If you engage in getting even, the result becomes a “curse” of sorts that will need correction sooner or later. You also need to learn energetic forgiveness towards those who did you harm and make sure you don’t repeat their harmful ways.

So when bad things happen, it’s not the Divine God’s doing. It is an opportunity to reconnect to the higher vibration of spirit that you are and align your energies with your own “sacredness” rather than the lower temporary vibration of “humanness”.

What is happening on Earth now is possibly the result of many lifetimes of universal mistakes at all levels of life, coming back to us for correction. This is an opportunity to use our own free will, to change our minds and our ways back to harmlessness, and asking the Divine to assist us in remembering our sacredness, what that means, and how to engage it.

When we reconnect to our sacred Source, we can learn to bring Heaven on Earth through energetic forgiveness and grace. However, we need to ask and want this, out of our own free will.

Creativity in this “in Between Time" Helene Anne Fortin Creativity Mentor Specializing in Highly Sensitive People

L

ast night when I walked the puppies at twilight the only voice heard was the call of the loon on the Gatineau River (it was the first time this year hearing its soothing and ancient song). One solitary car’s headlights lit my feet as my trusty Old English sniffed every stump.

With the darkness falling, I realized the streetscape was so unusually quiet. In the middle of this pandemic, I reflected as to what it means to be in the reality of this “in-between” time.

An unnatural time as we are not used to being idle, to being quiet, to being trapped within a space (for some) (or within oneself for others). I quietly gave thanks for the gift of aloneness and togetherness.

In this “in-between” time I am drawn to create at such a deep level and my passions flip from one medium to another. I also feel a need to help others get through this time of uncertainty.

For me, Creativity is the dream of the heart being translated into action. The act of creation, no matter its form, is what is important.

“Creativity as I define it is: the physical act of creating something new that has not been there before. But linked to that concept is: how does what I create make my simple world a better place in which to live? It is that part that fascinates me...To what purpose? To what aim? And how does the act link to my destiny?”

At 73 I am gifted with wellness and health. So I turn my energies towards mentoring others in creativity so that their lives will be as embellished, as enriched as mine.

“Living a creative life has many benefits: you live a fuller, more satisfying life. You have more access to joy and peace as your creative brain drifts you into states of ease. It becomes a more focussed life as you acknowledge your strengths.”

It's a bit like setting up that Google Maps inside your body from where you are now to where you don't wanna go, but you practiced it, unfortunately, which is anxiety feel. Your body's like your unconscious, and your body is like, "Oh, he wants that. He wants to feel like shit.

I'll give him more opportunities to feel anxious." And then it'll create situations in your life so you can feel anxious.

That's how anxiety works, it's not real. I know it feels real.

I'm not discounting that you don't feel it, and it feels very, very real in your body, and it's a horrible feeling to fee And I always tell my clients, just tell them this, if you are terrified of climbing a wall...you're at Ayers Rock in Australia somewhere and you're climbing a rock, and you are scared of falling off that rock face. That fear is only telling you one piece of useful information, and that is the thing that you fear isn't actually happening at this moment.

Because if you were fucking falling off of Ayers Rock in Australia, you wouldn't have a second to play that game of, like, "Oh, what's gonna happen?" You wouldn't waste a thought because your body, your unconscious, your amygdala is literally getting you ready to go slap to do the least amount of damage as humanly possible. So you're not playing a game for a second of, "What could happen? What could happen here? What won't happen?"

So the very fact that you're feeling the fear or the anxiety, interchangeable sometimes, although you can have fear for things that happened, but oftentimes when it's in the future, pretty much anxiety,] the very thing that you fear, the very thing that you're anxious about isn't actually happening. Another example of this is if you are scared of the big, blue ocean, you're afraid of drowning, and I take you out on my speedboat. There are two elements to each individual's set of Records: the fixed and the evolving. The fixed aspect is the key pattern of your soul, which can be acknowledged as the DNA of who you are at the level of your soul. Above all, this is the soul-level truth about you: who you truly are in your human journey throughout time and space. The second aspect of your set of Records, is the lifetimes you experience as you become aware of the essence of yourself. It is here, that you find the ever-evolving library catalog of all the human experiences you have had, are having and will continue to have, as you move toward your spiritual awakening.

Spirit communication is like speaking a foreign language. Words might not have a common meaning, but images and emotions are universal. In combination with these principals, a refined culture of honour, kindness and respect is created and therefore, providing you with an opportunity to know your own soul as whole, complete and mostly importantly ... good! As you gain this knowledge you transform. You shift from being judgmental, fearful and resistant to becoming accepting, allowing and embracing. T

he virus and all its reverberations is an opportunity to consciously heal our hearts and souls. There is a virus, but much of what we’ve been experiencing is psyops and spiritual warfare, so humanity’s ability to prevail rests not with more edicts and rules. That’s never supported our freedoms. The answer lies with our willingness now to purge the shadows, strengthen our spiritual immune system, and rediscover ourselves as infinitely powerful.

The changes we’re seeing have manifested from the dark controllers’ long-standing hidden agenda for Earth. This now is desperate, dark opposition to the power of LIFE, and specifically the reclamation of the Seraphim consciousness that’s inherent in every human’s Cosmic Christ Consciousness potential.

Investigate “agenda 21” or “event 201”, read David Icke’s work, Energetic Synthesis, or visit my blog for articles and recommended current videos, to discern for yourself.

There are many questions we could be asking. Firstly, “Who stands to gain from all this?”

Consider that our immune system’s thymus gland sits at our 8th dimensional Higher Heart, the seed of our inner Christ essence, and where our Divine feminine and masculine energies unite in sacred balance. This knowledge about our monadic higher self (7D, 8D, 9D) has been long repressed.

Further, follow the money and you’ll discover that the restrictive measures aren’t so much about protecting humanity but fulfilling their plan with oppression of freedoms, mandatory vaccinations, and 5G poisoning.

Our perceptions have been deliberately manipulated for years. Truth has been infected with lies to spin confusion and mistrust of our inner compass. So keep asking for clarity from your Higher Self: “What do I need to see right now?”

Yet, we’re so loved. God’s Natural Laws will prevail over the anti-life, apocalypse agenda of the deceivers. Earth is ascending into higher consciousness. But we do have to move through this Dark Night of the Soul and the dismantling of the old. We’re each responsible for healing our survival fears, inner conflicts, addiction patterns, traumas and attachments, etc. Awakening to truth also requires considered self-reflection: “How have I been choosing to live?”, “What values matter to me?”, and “To what do I give my consent with my consciousness?”

We each have the right to declare, “My intention is Unity consciousness. I do not consent to the manipulation of my sovereignty and freedom or humanity’s.” We’re that powerful!

Navigating Stress During COVID-19 by: Chris Peacock

A

s the weeks of social distancing and isolating extend, I hear every day that people are feeling more stressed. This is natural! None of us have lived through a pandemic before and we’re not used to living in uncertainty for long periods of time. Our nervous systems, which automatically respond to uncertainty by becoming more alert and charged, aren’t meant to be in an alert state for long periods of time, so more people find themselves feeling tired, having some difficulty sleeping and regulating emotions, and less able to focus and concentrate.

Self-care is critical during this time and there are lots of tools available. Yoga, meditation, mindfulness, exercise, Qigong, Feldenkrais, gratitude, journaling, etc., all help to bring our nervous system down and keep us more in balance.

There are lots of classes being offered at no or minimal charge on-line and many apps can be downloaded for free.

For those who were dealing with anxiety prior to the coronavirus, this time is particularly difficult. Their nervous systems were already overloaded and now, with the uncertainty and lifestyle changes required at this time, they are finding it harder to cope. Tuning Forks – The Ancient Sounds of Health

or years we have been looking for ways to heal the body and the mind. How do we bring more peace and flow to our lives and in our bodies? When we Feng Shui a home the purpose is to introduce flow and serenity so we feel comfortable and rejuvenated. Why are we so in a hurry to do everything? Our bodies feel the push and it has ways to show the stress it is going through to keep up with our rigorous pace.

There are many aspects to our life that we positively react to and one of them is sound. When we hear pleasant sounds it brings a smile to our face; a running stream, a bird singing or the sound of a baby’s laughter. Introducing healing sounds/frequencies to the body is another powerful method of bringing harmony to a stressed body.

The most powerful frequencies I have discovered are the once lost Solfeggio frequencies emitted from tuning forks.

There are 7 main sounds that have been missing in our culture for centuries that provides optimal physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health. These tuning forks create sounds that most of us have never heard. It has not been heard in our music because these are specific frequencies that have mathematical significance and has hidden importance to help us realize how unlimited we are. When used in a specific way with freedom techniques similar to a massage, a feeling of vitality and wellbeing is the result.

A tuning fork session is similar to a massage but there is no physical contact because the forks float over the body to clear the auric field which is a few inches from the body. A well trained master can use these forks with distance healing and send those energies anywhere in the world. This was very helpful when social distancing had to be implemented and people had to keep their distance. This type of healing can be used to help those in their own home while the session is carried out in another location.

Ancient meditation chants have some of these sounds included which is why primitive cultures are more often spiritually, emotionally, mentally and physically healthier compared to our culture despite their harsh lifestyle. When these frequencies are used on high stressed individuals they feel the harmony in minutes. This also works on babies and even pets. These sounds are from nature which is why the human body ‘remembers’ it from centuries of evolution; it is a recognizable ancestral memory. It can improve confidence, vitality, improve emotional outlooks, increase problem solving skills and enhance your view on life in general.

Many of our society’s “traditions” to health are not working anymore. The health industry are performing radical treatments and adding chemicals to offer better health to us while the food industry is adding poison to grow your food. We want more effective and holistic answers that actually solve the health issues we have and not just treat the surface symptoms.

While these ancient frequencies and training are available are among the many options to bring a better quality of life to us.

We need to be aware and be open to these gifts of nature.

How and Why We Continue to Attract the Same Life Problems, and What to do about it.

n the course of our life’s journey, it often happens that we experience frustration with similar, unwanted situations arising again and again. Have you ever faced feelings of betrayal, or a lack of recognition or financial success, and hoped that things will get better by focusing on the future?

Paradoxically, the key to a better future lies, to a great extent, in the past.

The insufficiently fulfilled needs we experienced as children can be at the root of what we now face as adults.

Until we examine and deal with these past experiences, we will continue to attract them throughout our lives. To quote Pathwork Lecture192, “To the degree you have not experienced fully your past as a child, you must attract similar experiences, at least in essence, later.”

But what was a legitimate need as a child is impossible to fulfill in the childhood way for an adult, even though we keep trying, at least in some areas of our lives. It is our attempts to meet these needs in the wrong way that perpetuate the unwanted situations in our adult lives. Not recognizing and dealing with the feelings arising from unfulfilled real childhood needs can cause us to continue to project those needs onto others.

For example, if our feelings weren’t allowed or validated as children, we may continually look for reassurance from others later in life, thereby adversely affecting our relationships and re-creating childhood trauma in our adult lives.

Recognizing old or false needs is not easy, since they are subtle and generally unconscious. To uncover these needs, we have to learn and practice objective self-observation. The ultimate reward is the possibility of fulfilment of our real needs as adults. As Pathwork Lecture 192 states, these are, “…self-expression; growth; development; reaching his/her spiritual potentials and everything else that accrues from that: pleasure, love, fulfillment, good relationships, and making a meaningful contribution to the scheme of things.”

At the next Open Lecture on May 20, we will explore how real childhood needs that were insufficiently met can be transformed to allow us to live a more fulfilled life.

This exploration will include strategies and an exercise to begin to uncover these hidden needs that are still problematic in our lives today.

Power in Stories

S

tories can be many things – a vacation from reality, an insight into someone else’s life, but the stories that are truly impactful are those that are shared by women who have overcome a challenge or adversity.

You may not believe that you have a story, or that your story is valuable or important enough to share. Our ancestors understood the importance of storytelling. Quite often they’d have us sitting on the edge of our seat or be great lessons we could learn without having experienced the same adversity. For a long time telling stories was a lost art. I used to think it was an art because I heard relatives telling stories that would take me right there with them, seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting everything exactly as if I was right there too.

Going through my own challenge didn't feel like art at the time. In fact having found myself in a situation “no intelligent woman would ever find herself in” I was embarrassed and ashamed that I could even allow myself to let it happen. It happened so gradually that I never saw it coming. And of course I was in love so how could I see it coming. I wasn’t listening to those whispers Oprah talks about.

It wasn’t until I found a positive community of support that allowed me to awaken from the life I had fallen into, that I could forgive myself and others so that I could shift from surviving to thriving. Letting go of the thoughts and beliefs that kept me back in that space took time. Creating new beliefs that were mine, learning new skills and strategies to become a THRIVER gave me hope. Bearing witness to those positive changes, not being judged by my community and being recognized for the good qualities I embodied, brought me much joy and a lot of gratitude.

The first time I was asked to share my story freaked me out. Me? My story?? I failed to understand the value it could bring anyone. Not to mention I still wasn’t comfortable at sharing my story with others. With some encouragement I did. The shame and embarrassment faded when other women approached me afterward. They saw themselves in my story and my journey was giving them hope that they too could have positive change in their lives.

Since that first day I shared my story, I’ve heard others share theirs and witnessed women stepping up and saying “yeah, me too”. Letting others see they weren’t alone was one thing. Connecting them to the resources that could help them in their journey was another.

Thriving Forward Ottawa was born.

Building a bridge of hope to a caring community where women from all walks of life come together in a safe, welcoming environment to share stories of challenge and triumph.

But it doesn’t stop there. Valuable resources that are found and invited to share their stories of success and how they help our community as they are on their journey. Thriving Forward facilitators share our stories which include a small actionable called “Your Next Step” that our community members can implement in their lives. Our gatherings are where the conversations begin.

Our Private Facebook Community is where the conversations continue. We are building relationships that bind and support and spread love.

It takes a village. We are building ours and invite you to join us.
