CYNDI

Mayra (cut) – For Cyndi’s mid-length locks, I added flirty layers throughout the crown, but maintained the feeling of length with long panels around the face. Samantha (colour) - I love blonde in any shade! With Cyndi, I alternated between three shades - very light blonde, beige blonde, and a few panel splashes of a peach apricot tone. This approach created a dimensional look.

BEFORE

RAQUEL

Austin (cut) - Raquel’s cut has the feeling of an undercut while maintaining a long loose textured shape. I also added a hint of a fringe. I worked an undercut placement inside of her layering pattern as well as asymmetrically on the front hairline. I squared her top layering pattern and moved into diagonal backs, working short to long. Jared (colour) - With Raquel we wanted to have a change, but maintain depth. Staying on the darker side, I used a rich dark brown and added a softer color interest around the perimeter using a crescent pattern.

BEFORE

JAMIE

Austin (cut) - I created a long movable layering pattern to add shape to Jamie’s very fine hair. I accomplished this by shaping her length into a “V.” I then worked a short to long layering pattern above the round that disconnected from the front perimeter to maintain the density. I also added a switch fringe for versatility. Samantha (colour) - Jamie had a previous ombré that was very soft and natural, so we decided to change it up and go with a high contrast ombré. I created this by working with a deep walnut brown at the regrowth area and then transitioning into a medium butterscotch blonde through the mid-lengths and ends.

IN THE SPIRIT OF THE NEW YEAR, WE CELEBRATED IN TRUE TONI&GUY FASHION WITH FOUR MAKEOVERS. EACH CLIENT RECEIVED A FRESH CUT AND COLOUR TO RING IN 2013. THE TECHNIQUES STAY WITHIN CLIENT COMFORT LEVELS, BUT OFFER HIGH IMPACT CHANGE. AS A POPULAR TIME FOR NEW BEGINNINGS, WE HOPE YOU ARE INSPIRED BY THESE OPPORTUNE BEFORE AND AFTERS.

BEFORE

DEANNA

Mayra (cut) –For Deanna, I spiced up her short hair by adding movement away from the face through tighter clean sides and a longer disconnection through the crown. Her final look is versatile and can be styled multiple ways. Jared (colour)- Deanna isn’t afraid of bold colour, so I had fun using an intense red rose shade with flares of copper and gold. I emphasized the colour on her ends to create a broken shine band.

Turn your lipstick into a multitasker by using it as an eye shadow, blush or eyeliner. The creamy consistency will give you a dewy look that’s easy to apply. For eyes, apply the lipstick and then pat on your favorite eye shadow for extra staying power.

Highlight your eyes and skin tone with complimentary shades like GUCCI’s subtle smokey eye with fitted lashes!

Prada kept things crisp with a true red lip. This standout is a classic for a reason and perfect for the woman who likes to show off her beautiful pout! Don’t forget your eyes, a naturally defined brow and a medium coat of mascara to both top and bottom lashes balance your look.

Be daring and try something new with colour! Inspired by one of my favorite looks for 2013, Dior’s turquoise and crystal eye shadow technique was a show stopper. I have toned it down to a readyto-wear look that still pops with personality!

CREATE THE LOOK: TIGI High Density Quad in Lush (green eyes/ cool shades), TIGI High Density Quad in Last Call (brown eyes/cool or warm shades) and TIGI High Density Quad in Posh (blue eyes/ warm shades).

Bruno notes from

The New Year is a universal time of reflection and gratitude. For those of you who know me personally, you know that I value setting personal and professional goals throughout the year. As promised, I will share with you some of my goals for TONI&GUY in 2013. The first quarter will kick off with a huge milestone for our company with our first salon franchise location opening in Boise, ID. Long time academy franchisee, Phil Scott, will be opening this location to complement his existing academy network. We are thrilled to pioneer this new model with Phil and his team. Salon franchises are an incredible way to grow with TONI&GUY and we are excited to extend this opportunity to others in the future. 2012 marked an impressive year of growth for our academy division with the opening of six additional schools – Florida (Jacksonville), Massachusetts (Braintree), and Pennsylvania (Allentown, Ambler, Philadelphia and Strasburg). Look for new locations opening throughout the US as we continue to share our educational expertise in 2013. As individual entrepreneurs, I encourage you to also set goals. Take time to reflect on what you have accomplished in 2012 and what you hope to accomplish in 2013. Write down realistic milestones and check in on your progress throughout the year. Remember to think big and start small. Looking forward to a great year ahead!

ABOUT: This four-piece indie-electro band is built on a foundation of deep house beats. Managing to marry an array of styles from the polyphonic buzz of the early 80’s synthesizer to intricately strummed delayed guitar lines, the music delivers a delightfully poppy treat. The group came to be in 2009 and consists of Zack Arnett on lead vocals, Aaron Bilyeu on drums, Ian Dowd on lead guitar, and Emvy Venti on synth/piano/vocals. WHY WE LIKE THEM: This LA-based band provides an “auditory haven for the soul.” Fans of Phoenix and Passion Pit will appreciate the dance-worthy tunes. Their album entitled “FITH” is now available on iTunes. FAVORITE TUNE: STARGAZER
