STRUT STYLE, TRENDS & RUNWAY UNDER TONI&GUY
STRUT WINNER
RACHEL WRIGHT Rachel Wright, stylist at TONI&GUY Maxwell Place, is the winner of the TIGI Retail Contest. The contest was driven by each team member’s total retail sales for the month of April. Rachel was flown out to Los Angeles where she was made a feature stylist for a photo shoot with Zak Mascolo. Rachel took a few moments to sit down with TONI&GUY.
Can you give us some insight on your background? Prior to TONI&GUY, I was an educator at a cosmetology school for 4 years. When I heard T&G was coming to New Jersey, I joined the team and found it refreshing to work with a company that focused on education. It’s a fantastic environment at the salon and having the opportunity to grow in this industry has been wonderful. Peter and Whitney really helped guide and propel me as a stylist.
“WINNING THE CONTEST AND GETTING TO MEET BRUNO, WHILE WORKING WITH ZAK AND CAROLINE IS A DREAM COME TRUE.” How would you describe your experience with TONI&GUY? If I had to describe my experience in one word it would be fabulous. Winning the contest and getting to meet Bruno, while working with Zak and Caroline is a dream come true. To see them so hands-on within the company is amazing. Working on this shoot with Zak has been incredible. I remember going to Chicago with T&G for a show and was able to be thrown right into the mix. The fact they’re willing to share this experience, is priceless.
Can you give us some tips of your trade? It’s all about creating loyalty, and building up a solid clientele.
What does the future hold for you? Moving forward I’d love to grow stronger within TONI&GUY, particularly with the education side. It’s always been a goal of mine to work towards becoming an art team member and take my passion to the next level.

NEW MARINA DEL REY STUDIO
T
he T&G team recently relocated to their fabulous new digs in Marina Del Rey, CA. As a brand that is constantly evolving it was time to have a new space that better represented our brand DNA. The studio is an environment where creativity oozes from our core and the executive team is proud to call it home. The studio also houses our newly built YouTube studio, where Zak and Caroline shoot and produce TONi&GUY TV. Stay tuned for future shows where hairdressers and beauty enthusiasts can watch as we connect with like minded creative individuals.
notes from
Bruno’s thoughts on leadership:
“
IF YOU WANT SOMETHING BAD ENOUGH AND BELIEVE IN IT THROUGHOUT YOUR HEART, MIND AND SOUL IT CAN HAPPEN.
“
“Creating a positive company culture is
something that is very important to a successful business. To me, culture is what you stand for and what you believe in. I devised this 25 years ago when I brought TONI&GUY to America from the UK. You have to have a clear vision with goals. Sharing this vision with like-minded people is essential.”
“Communication is the next crucial step in
achieving success. The power of communication is powerful – the more truthful and honest you are with yourself – the easier it will be to accomplish your goals. Define your direction, vision and culture, and people will follow your lead.”
“
Positivity, commitment and believing in yourself are also essential ingredients to a quality company culture. These leadership qualities, combined with the power of the mind and visualization of success is of tremendous importance to motivating those around you. Never, ever give up – this unyielding attitude will get you far in life.”
Bruno Mascolo, CEO
