Monsters of the Month

Member and officer of the month

She’s on the look out for some monsters to recognize!

Theresa Nguyen Member Recognition #goals. My main goal this year is to recognize the

underdogs! I was once an underdog myself and with encouragement and support, I transformed into the person I am today! Underdogs are the true seeds of service because they grow into great leaders and do not need any popularity or "likes" to get them going. They aren't fake. They are real, true, and genuine. They are the ones who truly serve the community endlessly through happiness and smiles and I want to recognize them for the greatness they are.

Page 14

Officer of the Month - Venh Vong Venh-- the tall stick figure-like tree. His goal for the term is to improve member relations and from what I see, his actions are already planting the seeds of service. He goes the extra mile to fill out all the community service cards during AP testing week. He goes on Facebook late at night and early in the morning to update members about upcoming events and the weekly PowerPoints. He is truly one who loves Key Club. This term is blessed to have such a dedicated VP like him. May his service soar to greater heights.

Member of the Month - Henry nguyen HENRY! This kid... You can never spot him without a smile. In fact, you may never spot him at all! He is always on the move at events hopping from one group to another. He is one of the many underdogs I want to recognize. Henry is my little freshman baby who blasts people with rays of sunshine with his pearly whites but rarely gets the opportunity to shine himself. I'm more than happy to have him as our first Member of the Month for this 2016-2017 term! Page 15

Kill Summer Boredom Bored out of your mind? Well have no fear! Tmoney is here with some tips and tricks for killing summer boredom.

1. Attend Service Events! Why not help the community and give smiles to others? Of course, this will also help you get started with hours for the new school year!

2. Start on summer work Get summer work out of the way. Don’t procrastinate and wait until the night before. Page 16

3. GO OUTDOORS Hiking, running, biking - be active while getting fresh air, especially after spending all week inside.

4. Spend time with friends Don’t lose contact with your friends - meet up outside and get to know them more! You can go shopping, swim, eat, visit a park, etc.

5. Spend time with family After your busy days with school, spend your precious moments with your family. It doesn’t hurt to be with them while you can! Page 17
