This course is for those wanting to develop their art skills further through a wide range of art and design mediums. There are opportunities to explore a range of specialist areas and produce a high-quality portfolio to aid progression into university or employment. During the first-year drawing, painting, graphics/photography, printing, computer-generated imagery and contextual studies are delivered, before the major project. In the second year you work with a greater independence, an emphasis is placed on preparation for life after college, you will be prepared for this by the Progression project.
WHAT CAN I DO AFTER THE COURSE?
Many of our students progress into a range of FdA or BA design and visual art degrees at university or college, as well as following a direct career into employment in the creative visual arts industry.
KEY INFORMATION
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Four GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and/or maths
LENGTH OF COURSE: Two years
ASSESSMENT: The course is 100% coursework
TYPE OF COURSE: Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma (equivalent to three A Levels)
