Linda Goodman – Corcoran’s Furniture & Carpets Ltd. Interior Designer Linda Goodman works with Corcoran’s Furniture & Carpets Ltd. as their in-house interior designer expert. She has vast interior design experience having worked with companies such as Laura Ashley and Crate & Barrell (CB2). As well as working with Corcoran’s Furniture, she also has her own design business.

She studied in NCAD (National College of Art & Design) and graduated in 2007 with a degree in design, specialising in interior design. Originally from Dublin, Linda visited Kerry on holidays as a child, and that’s where her love of the Kingdom began. She decided to move to Portmagee during covid, to embrace a more peaceful way of life.

€230,000 grant for Munster Technological University

Minister for Education and Kerry T.D, Norma Foley, has welcomed the €230,000 grant for Munster Technological University. It is part of a €4.5 million funding package to support higher education institutions that have multiple campuses in remote regional locations. MTU has six principal campuses, including two in Tralee and four in Cork, and over 18,000 students in total. Minister Foley said: “I welcome the confirmation by my cabinet colleague Simon Harris, the Minister for Further and Higher Education, that MTU is getting €230,000 in funding

from the new Distributed Campus Support Fund. I want to express my thanks to Minister Harris for his personal engagement with me on our ambitious plans for the development, enhancement and growth of MTU. “ The €4.5 million Distributed Campus Support Fund was set up to help higher education institutions which have to pay higher cost for delivering core campus services across multiple sites. This can include travel costs between campuses, service costs across multiple sites and the costs of having smaller classes and lower staff student ratios in multiple campuses than single campus institutions.

‘An Abundance of Colour’ exhibition in Kerry County Museum . Art in the Park Artists are delighted to showcase

their artworks once again for their Off the Rails exhibition titled ‘An Abundance of Colour’, in Kerry County Museum, which was officially opened last night ( Thursday 25th Jan at 6p.m.) by Irish fashion designer Don O’Neill from Ballyheigue . All are welcome to come along. The Exhibition will run until April 2024. Rebecca Wall , Curator of Art in the Park says “ We have many members exhibiting at this year’s exhibition with a nice variety and medium of works both old and new. We are delighted that Kerry County Museum has given us their exhibition space again to host this exhibition. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Helen O’Carroll, Claudia Kohler and the team of the Museum for all their help. We would also like to thank Cliffords cash and carry for their kind donation for the opening reception of the exhibition and to Cocktail Heist Events for mixing the drinks.
