Free Antivirus... is it Spying on you?
Do you ever wonder why you can download antivirus free and how do they make money if it’s for free . Avast has been one Anti-virus that has stood the test of time and has been free for almost a decade. The anti-virus lacks advanced features but does provide enough to cover individuals who don’t want to break the bank for a premium anti-virus software. However, it looks like there’s a reason why Avast is free and it’s not because the company wants everyone to have access to anti-virus...according to a joint investigation by PCMag and Motherboard, it looks like Avast is harvesting your data to pay for their expenses and the free anti-virus software. The report relies on leaked documents that include user data, contracts, and other company documents. These documents show the sale of the highly sensitive data collected by the company. The primary data comes from Jumpshot, a subsidiary of Avast. The system works in an efficient way where Avast collects the data and Jumpshot repackages the data to sell it to the big names in the tech industry. Jumpshot’s client list includes Google, Yelp, Microsoft, McKinsey, Pepsi, Sephora, Home Depot, Condé Nast, Intuit, and many others. The company provides a so-called “All Clicks Feed” package which can track behaviour, clicks and even movements across websites. This helps companies like Home Depot and Amazon learn the user behaviour with extreme precision including your shopping and browsing habits.

How to best avoid the Coronavirus! I caught up with fellow Galwayman and breathing Coach Eoin Burns during the week . Eoin has some interesting thoughts insights and helpful advice regarding the Coronavirus (Covid -19 ) that is affecting people all over the world .Read on , its fascinating ...
Eoin says .... Even if you haven’t got yourself one of the last masks, there is a lot you can do to prevent catching an infection. One of the easiest way to catch a virus is through droplet dispersal from coughing and sneezing. Imagine someone sneezes or coughs directly at you, even from the other side of a room. Imagine thousands of rainbow coloured droplets being spread rapidly in your direction. If you picture a bird bringing a worm back to its hungry chicks - where you have your mouth open you are like one of the chicks – desperate to catch a virus droplet! So if you hear someone sneeze our cough, gently hold your breath – and close your mouth! So it’s a great idea to know how best to breathe. We should breathe through our mouth as often as we eat through our nose! We are designed to breathe in and out
our nose. Yes- even with sports and even at higher intensities. Its not about breathing more (more air equals less oxygen delivered) its about being more efficient with less. So where we breathe a tiny amount in through our noses, its filtered and when we breathe out our noses we clean our filter within 15 minutes. In contrast if we breathe particles in through our mouths, they can remain in our body for 2-4months! This is where rhinitis and perennial hayfever come from as well as sinus and other infections. If you are wearing a mask, breathing through your mouth behind the mask is nowhere near as effective as breathing through your nose. Mouth breathing is bigger volume and wets the mask more too. It forces the air around the sides of the mask bypassing the filter and having your mouth open means it gets into your body more readily. If you haven’t a mask, then keep your mouth closed. Gently place your tongue in the roof of your mouth (where you say Nah!). Press your tongue gently up to the soft palate. The hardest times to mind your breathing are when talking, sleeping and exercising. This is possible with practice and I haven’t found a nose I cannot get someone to
breathe through yet! It does take perseverance though. For best results go to a practitioner to do a course or an individual session with tailored program to make progress easier. When you cough or sneeze the tips are to not sneeze into your hands and to cough into your elbow. Surprisingly, most people sneeze through their mouth! Your mouth should be closed as your body is trying to eliminate some airborne irritant. Similarly coughing should be done with your mouth closed and this reduces the volume of your breathing and helps to fight the next cough. Better breathing also improves sleep (including snoring and insomnia), anxiety, sports performance and overall wellbeing. Avoiding this major infection the coronavirus is a
great motivator to get started breathing correctly too! So to change up your relationship with colds and flus and reduce your potential for catching coronavirus – if you hear someone coughing or sneezing at you quickly close your mouth and hold your breath! Late rally decisive as Warriors take down local rivals
Garvey’s Tralee Warriors bid to defend their Super League title remains on track after an 81-63 win over Keane’s SuperValu Killorglin at the Tralee Complex last Saturday night. It may not have been the classic encounter that some expected, but it was at times dramatic, at other times pulsating, but always compelling as the sides battled it out for the third time this season at Super League level. In the end a blistering final quarter from the Warriors sealed the crucial victory to give them their 15th win of the campaign to keep them top of the League with 3 games remaining. The atmosphere in the Complex was at fever pitch when the League champions blasted out of the blocks in the final quarter to go on what would prove to be a game-winning run. Next up for the Warriors is another home fixture when they entertain Maree of Oranmore next Saturday night at the Tralee Sports Complex with tip off as usual at 7.30pm.(Pro Alan Cantwell , photos Liam Ryan ) Friday 28th February 2020

Teams selected for Kecskemet International Childrens Games, Hungary In 2005 Kerry was represented at the International Children’s Games for the first time in Coventry by a team of 20 athletes from Tralee, joined for the first time also by the city of Kecskemet, Hungary. Now, 15 years later the team from Kerry travels to Hungary for this year’s event, which will be hosted by Kecskemet, the 8th largest city in Hungary, situated along the banks of the Danube. In total 107 cities have registered for the Games, with Tralee ICG the only Irish representatives, as they have been since 2009. “It’s a tremendous experience for these young athletes” said ICG chairman, Mike Culloty, “who get the once in a lifetime opportunity to compete at against their own peers at an International level this age (13-15). The team selected for Hungary will feature 10 athletes in Track and Field, 3 in Judo and 5 in Swimming. Swim coach Ger Mc Donnell was delighted to accept the invitation from the International Children’s Games for a group of swimmers to attend this year’s games in Hungary. Ger has previously travelled with the ICG to the
Games in Thailand, Bahrain and Scotland and is looking forward to the experience in Kecskemet: “ This swimming squad are extremely hard working and driven athletesarguably the best group that we have ever sent to the Games-This will mark the 5th time that Kerry School of Judo will have players representing the club at the Games, much to the delight of head coach Danny Roche, “Our athletes have fought and performed well at National Level and are thrilled to have the opportunity to compete in Hungary against their peers from Israel, the Ukraine and Holland, The Track team is comprised of 6 female and 4 male athletes, who will be coached by former ICG participant in 2006 and 2007, Dearbhail Foley, now coaching with Tralee Harriers. “This is our largest contingent of athletes since the Coventry Games, 2005. From here on in it’s all systems go as the necessary arrangements for travel, accommodation, fund raising and team preparation begin. “The children are all very excited at the prospect of travelling to the Games
and competing in their chosen disciplines against athletes from America, Canada, England, South Korea and Thailand, to mention just a few of the 45 countries represented at the Games”. The level of support in the local community is a critical aspect of continued participation, a point readily emphasised by Mike Culloty: “The participation of athletes from Kerry is simply not possible without the support of families, local communities and local businesses. As a voluntary organisation within the local community, we are acutely aware that without that level of support the athletes would never have this opportunity or experience this
level of competition at such an early stage of their sporting lives. We are most grateful and appreciative of this support”. The ICG team, with athletes from Tralee, Killarney, Listowel, Firies and Ballymacelligott, together with their parents and team coaches, held their first meeting on Friday night last at the Education Centre, Tralee, where details of travel arrangements, registration requirements and plans for the next four months were communicated to all present. Speaking to Sean Roche, the Chairperson of Cara Credit Union’s Community Sponsorship Committee “Cara Credit Union is very conscious of our ethos. One way of rewarding the trust and loyalty we receive from our members is by supporting projects that can help build better communities, and add value throughout our common bond in Tralee, Castleisland and Killorglin. Our Lauri Healy Community Sponsorship Awards helps us achieve this objective with the distribution of funds used to encourage and complement the fantastic work that community groups do to make all our lives and communities a better place to live and work. Beauty
HELLO BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE I hope you’re having an amazing week.
This week I’m going to be talking about some beauty bits I have bought recently just to give you all a little insight into what products I’m using and trying.
Laura Mercier Translucent Powder If you follow me on Instagram you will know that I got an absolute bargain on this. It’s my favorite setting powder, a must have in both my makeup bag and my kit. I bought it for €29 (it’s normally €43, but I finessed the system). Message me on Instagram @rebeccashortt for the link!
Simple Eye Makeup Remover Honestly the best eye makeup remover I’ve used. Ever. It’s so so good it removes all of my eye makeup without leaving that oily feeling.
Maui Moisture Bodywash Bit of a random one but I picked this up in Boots as the packaging stood out, it smells amazing and it’s not full of nasty chemicals such as sulfates - it’s a more natural body wash.
They’re all the beauty bits I’ve bought recently! If you wanna see more of me you can follow me on…
Friday 28th February 2020
Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define Foundation I picked this up in CH recently after seeing many good reviews on it. I am VERY impressed. I love the coverage and how it feels on my skin. It’s only €11 too!

Hello everyone!
Hope you’re having a great week. This week was Pancake Tuesday, and I’m going to tell you that you don’t need to wait til Pancake Tuesday to eat pancakes, you can incorporate the below recipes into your food! Just because you are working out and watching what you eat doesn’t mean you can’t have yummy pancakes! Here are two separate recipes that I like to use, one is higher carb for training days, and the other is higher in fat and protein for non training days, both are delicious! Although I do prefer the training day ones better cause they’re fluffier. TRAINING DAY PANCAKES: serves one. • 40g oats • 1 egg • 50g egg whites • Vanilla extract • Almond milk - 1 or 2 tbsp as needed. Blend the oats into a powder consistency in a nutri bullet or something similar. Add all the other ingredients and mix well. Cook as normal using extra virgin olive oil. NON TRAINING DAY PANCAKES: • 100g egg whites • 1 large egg • 20g protein powder • 2 tsp chia seeds Blend all of the ingredients in a blender. Cook as normal in extra virgin olive oil - or any oil you prefer. Of course you can eat the training day pancakes on a non training day too! It all depends on your macros, if you track them. Enjoy & never feel guilty about food! MY FAVOURITE TOPPINGS: Bacon medallions/turkey rashers & myprotein syrup.25grams of Nutella and strawberries.

Pancake Tuesday in aid of Kerry Hospice
This year’s Pancake Tuesday was a very memorable one for all at The Grand Hotel and Kerry Hospice. The two teamed up to host a morning of coffee and pancakes with all donations going to the Kerry Hospice to support them in their fantastic work. Hosted in The Grand Hotel, patrons were able to flip out over the delicious and wide selection of pancakes, ranging from the traditional maple syrup to raspberry coulis and apple cinnamon. The event also attracted some very special guests. One of which was footballer, David Moran, who tried his hand in some pancake flipping to see if his skills on the pitch would translate to the frying pan. The morning was a major success, with €800 being raised for the hospice. The support from Tralee town was evident and even from the staff themselves, who donned “Support Kerry Hospice” t-shirts for the day. Both The Grand Hotel and Kerry Hospice would like to extend a huge thank you to all who participated, the great work done by the Hospice wouldn’t be possible were it not for everyone’s generosity.

Wizkids get All star accreditation!
A Tralee based business has achieved a quality mark signifying it meets the highest standards of service and trust. DigiWiz LTD was awarded the coveted All-Ireland Business All-Star accreditation. This is an independently verified standard mark for indigenous businesses, based on rigorous selection criteria. The accreditation is overseen by the prestigious AllIreland Business Foundation, whose adjudication panel is chaired by Dr Briga Hynes of the Kemmy Business School at the University of Limerick and Kieran Ring, CEO of the Global Institute of Logistics. Dr Hynes said the accreditation, which is now held by over 350 firms, is needed by the thousands of small and medium businesses which operate to their own standards but have nothing to measure them by. “We evaluate a company’s background, trustworthiness and performance, and we speak to customers, employees and vendors,” she said. “We also anonymously approach the company as a customer and report back on the experience. “The business goes through at least two interviews and is scored on every part of the process against set metrics.” The All-Ireland Business Foundation is responsible for overseeing the AllIreland Business Summit and All-Star awards, ongoing All-Star accreditation, Thought Leader awards and promoting peer dialogue among members. The Gold Medal Ceremony will take place on March 24 in Croke Park.

Its ‘Rock n Rose’ time for the Stacks! What a great turn-out at The Rock & Rose Victory Social last Saturday night at the Rose Hotel – the highlight of which was the presentation of medals to our Senior and C Team winning footballers, brilliantly hosted as usual by our own Timmy Sheehan. Club Chairman, Billy Ryle’s welcoming speech was another master class where he thanked everyone involved in the organisation of such a brilliant event, as well as all those who received awards on the night. Billy of course paid tribute to the late Seán Murphy whose removal to his native Carlow took place earlier that day. He also congratulated Tralee CBS on winning the Corn Uí Mhuirí, captained by Seán Quilter and with ten other Club players in its ranks, as well as Tim McMahon, Damien McLoughlin Friday 28th February 2020
and Alan Duggan who were members of the Management team.He also thanked Colin Teahan and his company PST Sport who were the Club’s main sponsor for the past eight years and was delighted to welcome Kirby’s Brogue Inn as our new main sponsor for the next three years. The Award Winners were – Club Lady of the Year (Carmel Quilter-O’Neill), Club Man of the Year (Noel O’Connell), Senior Lady Player of the Year (Jemma O’Connell), Senior C Team Player of the Year – The Charlie Healy Trophy, presented by Charlie’s wife, Ena (David Courtney), Senior

PEUGEOT CANT GET ENOUGH DIESEL CARS FOR IRISH MARKET !
A couple of simple figures reveal how the Government is hobbling rather than encouraging electric-car buying. In the Budget it removed a major incentive for businesses to buy electric vehicles. The result is that total EV sales are a mere 100 or so up on last year. That seems to fly in the face of logic, considering the plan is to have one million EVs on the road by 2030. Peugeot executive Colin Sheridan this week summed up the measly increase: “It’s a long way from a million.”Meantime sales of diesels, deemed the demon fuel for so long, have increased significantly for some distributors. Peugeot says it can’t get enough of them. Mr Sheridan said: “We’re being eaten for them.”Many, many people want diesels because nothing else fits their requirements right now, he said.He made his comments as Peugeot rolled out several new cars this week, including some with, or soon to have, a choice of diesel, petrol and electrified powertrains. Among them was the new 2008SUV .Mr Sheridan said it was impossible for automakers (and consequently buyers) to plan ahead in the face of shifting sands of contradictory government policies and actions. Such conflicts are going to be thrown into even sharper relief in January when the full brunt of new and higher emissions figures will be unleashed, if nothing is done. There are growing fears car prices will shoot up if the Government doesn’t change VRT bands in the Budget to lessen the impact of the WLTP system.Distributors and buyers need to know what is planned on that front and for future taxation treatment of EVs and PHEVs. TOP FIVE ANNOYING PARKING HABITS
Your top five most annoying parking habits are revealed in a new survey. But I’m surprised it discovered that only one-in-10 motorists find parking to be stressful. Going on personal observations I’d have thought it would be much higher. The easytrip survey says it’s just 10pc, so we’ll have to take its word for it.The research also found that 43pc of motorists prefer parallel to perpendicular parking (36pc). Other people’s most annoying parking habits are: 1. Straddling/hogging two parking spaces (38pc). 2. Parking in a disabled space even though they were not disabled and didn’t have an appropriate sign (27pc). 3. Parking too close to your car (15pc). 4. Being blocked in so you can’t get out of your parking space (5pc). 5. Blocking an entrance so you can’t get into your home or workplace (4pc). Eddie Cunningham Indo Motoring

Being someone who has always printed the notes from the Swimming Club and have great admiration for how they run their activities it was very disheartening to see the graffiti painted on the changing room in recent weeks. Hopefully now that the outrage was seen this will not happen again. The club works very hard to raise the money it needs every year and does not need to be spending this repainting the walls every couple of weeks. DATE FOR YOUR DIARY: The TG4 series Laochra Gael series returns for its 18th series. This series will be an hour-long look at the lives of some of the GAA top sports persons. The first episode will air on March 5th with Kieran Donaghy career and life story being featured. Garvey’s Tralee Warriors will be looking for another home win this Saturday night when they welcome Maree to the Complex at 7.30pm on Saturday night. They are down to their last three games and will want to win all of them. And while this weekend’s game might not have derby aspect that last Saturday night’s win over Keanes Supervalu Killorglin it is still a vital win and should see another full house. In the derby game the Warriors had the better of the first quarter and led 16-10 but by half time the sides were level at 35 points each. Keanes then put together an 8-0 run to get a grip on the game but the Warriors closed the gap by the end of the quarter to trail be 3 points 52-49. The packed complex was now rocking with each set of fans cheering their side on offence and defence. And it was the Warriors with a greater strength in depth and that little bit more experience were the better side in the final quarter. In the end the Tralee side won 8163 which was probably a little harsh on the visitors who missed some chances including from the free throw line. However the Warriors

proved once again that they can go deep into their bench and are all fired up to try and defend their SuperLeague title. The battle for the title is a two horse race with Garvey’s three points ahead of Belfast Star with both sides having playing 19 games. For the Warriors Daniel Jokubaitis hit 21 followed by Jon Lawton on 16 and Andre Berry with 14. Player coach Colin O’Reilly and Allan Thomas both hit 20 points for Keanes Killorglin. GARVEY’S U20’S KNOW SEMIFINAL OPPONENTS: While the SuperLeague team is garnering much of the headlines the Warriors u20’s are also continuing to make a big name for themselves. They had a comprehensive 22 point win 83-61 over Titans in the Last 8 of the u20 Men’s National League. SuperLeague player Rap Buivydas hit a game high 21 points with Leeroy Odiahi on 14 and Daire Kennelly hitting 12. Next up will be a clash with St Vincents who saw off Ballincollig 79-61 in their quarter final clash. On the other side of the draw Portlaoise Panthers will take on UCD Marian with UCC Demons facing Moycullen. In a further sign of the strength of underage basketball in Kerry KCYMS Killorglin have reached the Shield semi-final where they will play Fr Mathews while Neptune and Waterford Vikings clash in the other Shield last 4 game. DOUBLE FOR ST BRENDAN’S ON THE COURT; Following two weekends of Juvenile action the senior Cup finals in the Kerry Airport Kerry Area Board Basketball took place at the Complex on Sunday. It was a very successful afternoon for St Brendan’s who won back to back finals. First up were the Men in the Division 1 Cup who defeated Caherciveen 87-76 in a cracking game especially in the first half. The sides went basket for basket with the Tralee side leading 26-25 at the end of the first quarter. And they were 10 ahead at the break before Caherciveen bounced back to win the third 21-17. But the St Brendan’s side again found their range in the fourth with Jason Quirke, Robert O’Sullivan and Simon Mitchell getting vital scores and they went on to take the win. They followed this up with a win in the Men’s Division 2 Cup where their side topped the much coveted 100 point mark hitting 103 to St Mary’s 77. It was another great day of Kerry Airport KABB basketball with wins as well for St Bridget’s, Horan’s Health Stores Lixnaw and St Joseph’s in the Division 1 Ladies and Division 2 Men’s Shield finals. JIMMY CURRAN TOURNAMENT ANOTHER BIG SUCCESS; As well as a busy time on the court St Brendan’s were also hosting the U14 Jimmy Curran Memorial Tournament where teams from all over the country came to the Moyderwell Gym with 12 teams in action. In the Plate final St Anne’s defeated Sligo All Stars, Maree took the Plate with the big final going to St Mary’s Castleisland who just got the better of Tralee Imperials.
