KNOW YOUR RIGHTS: AUTHENTICATING DOCUMENTS Question We are a family planning to move from Ireland to live in Italy. Will Italian authorities accept our Irish birth certificates? Answer When you are abroad, you may need to use Irish documents, for example, a birth certificate, either for personal or business reasons. Governments and organisations sometimes require that public documents issued in other countries be authenticated or apostilled and translated before they can be accepted. Authenticating a document means verifying that a signature, seal or stamp on a document is genuine. An apostille stamp is an international certification. Since 16 February 2019, EU citizens moving to another EU country no longer need to get an apostille stamp to prove that their public documents are authentic. This means that public documents such as birth, death, marriage and civil partnership certificates issued in Ireland by the General Register Office (GRO) and the Certificate of Freedom to Marry issued by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade are accepted by authorities in other EU member states as authentic. The EU Regulation also removes the obligation for citizens to provide a translation of their public document. If the public document is not in one of the official languages of the EU country requesting the document, citizens can ask for a Multilingual Standard Form, available in all EU languages, from the authorities of the EU country which issued the public document. Multilingual Standard Forms are now available on request from the GRO for birth, death, marriage, adoption and civil partnership certificates. For more information, visit gro.ie.

Chamber issues call to shop local as O’Connors Toyshop and Radar Sports announce their Onstreet Closure “Heartbreaking to see this after
over 40 years and 2 generations in business. We want to wish all the best to the O’Connor family. Its frustrating and maddening to see another business close, in a week that also saw Radar Sports announce their closure of their store in Ivy Terrace (but continuing with a strong online shop presence !”) We know shopping is changing, and we all speak about how online is taking over. But please, remember that shops just like these are local - employing local staff & supporting local families. If you think shopping online is saving you, remember who’s losing out! If you don’t already understand the importance of shopping local... then perhaps now you might! We ask everyone to #ShopLocal We urge any business owner in difficulty to contact us, we may not be able to help with all the issues, but we can certainly try KEN ken@tralee.ie AIDAN president@tralee.ie

CBS Primary Tralee marks 60 years with construction of two-storey extension CBS Primary Tralee is set to undergo a major transformation after Easter when work commences on the construction of a twostorey building containing four new classrooms, a special educational needs unit and administration area. The project at one of Tralee’s most famous landmarks will be completed by the summer of 2020 when pupils and teachers entering the new extension can look forward to the most modern teaching and learning environment available. A follow-up phase of development will see the removal of the prefab classrooms which will be replace by a new fenced play area at the rear of the school where these classrooms are currently located. The Principal of CBS Primary Tralee, Denis Coleman, said: “The safety of our children and staff is our number one priority. The school’s original layout is from the 1950s - a time when the majority of children made their way to school on foot or on their bike, 14

without their parents. The world of 60 years ago was far less complicated and the yard, and school, were readily accessible to all. When the work is complete, our school will be far more secure where visitors will be welcomed at the new main entrance by our school secretary and where the, now-enclosed, yard will be more safe and secure than ever before.” The building works will also facilitate the upgrade of our school’s ICT capabilities which will in turn enable staff and children to increase the integration of technology into the teaching and learning throughout the school. CBS Primary Tralee first opened its doors in 1959 and one of the teachers from school’s early years, Mícheál Hayes, turned the sod on the development in the company of four pupils from the Junior Infants’ classes. They were joined by Ann Laide, whose father was involved in building the school in the 1950s. The Chairman of the Board of Management, Noel Burke, said: “We delighted that Friday 12th April 2019
the building project has such a strong link with the local area especially as we are celebrating the 60th anniversary of the opening of the school which was built by a local construction firm T. O’Mahony & Co in 1959. This time around, the consultants for the project are a Tralee-based company, MRG while the lead architect, Liam Waldron, is both a past pupil and a parent of a past pupil The main contractor is Evans and Kelliher Ltd from Castlemaine and many of the sub-contractors will be from the locality ensuring that there will be a direct benefit to the
local economy.” Preliminary building works have already commenced at the front of the school while children, teachers and parents have already been familiarised with the new drop-off and collection procedures. During construction, a large part of the school will be boarded up and the new main entrance to the school will be via the glass doors looking onto Brewery Road. For more information about the development at CBS Primary Tralee, please contact Denis Coleman on 0667124029 or email principal@ cbsprimarytralee.com.

History Made by Parnells Men! Below is the Tralee Parnells team that played in the North Kerry Intermediate Hurling League vs Lixnaw. This milestone game was played in Lixnaw on Friday 5th of April 2019. Beauty
HELLO MY BEAUTIFUL FRIENDS I HOPE YOU’RE ALL HAVING AN AMAZING WEEK! I’m going to Thailand in 2 weeks and in Thailand there are a lot of markets - a lot of these that sell counterfeit makeup! Sometimes these stalls can be selling makeup brushes or products at a quarter of the usual retail price, which you may think ‘great i’m getting a bargain’ - but you’re not. Counterfeit makeup is very dangerous - it is manufactured in non sanitary conditions and has been reported to contain high levels of bacteria. It can also contain harmful ingredients that is illegal to use in makeup sold in a store that is harmful to your health. Reactions from using fake makeup products can include acne, psoriasis, serious skin rashes and eye infections. These reactions also take a few days to appear so you may not even think it was the fake product you used.
I know the temptation to buy these products, you think ‘sure what harm can a lipstick/lashes/makeup brush do’ I was surrounded by them in Thailand last time, I could have got the most amazing looking fake palettes, lashes and brushes for my kit as a Makeup
Artist(apparently that’s what some Artists do). But putting those unknown chemicals and bacteria near my face, or a clients’ is a huge no no for me! You don’t have to spend 50 euro on a Chanel foundation if that’s out of your budget, but rather than buying a fake for a tenner, get a pharmacy dupe. Brands like L’Oreal, Revlon, Rimmel, Floramar, Note Cosmetics and more do really high quality products for low prices with ingredients that won’t harm you. So next time you’re at a stall that sells makeup - if it’s being sold at a stall it’s not real. Remember the points I made today, it’s not worth it, it harms your skin, it’s not sanitary, WALK AWAY! That’s what I had to tell myself over and over again in Thailand. Yes it’s annoying that they’re selling Mac lipstick for 5 euro, but it’s not real, not good for you and will harm your skin!

BEXBLAH
FITNESS!
HELLO MY STRONG FRIENDS, I hope you’re all having a great week.
Recently I have been taking more and more notice of people’s(especially women’s) ideas of what is “good for you” and “bad for you”. And it seems many women are still in the mind frame that you need to do lots of cardio, eat no carbs, stop eating after 7pm and all this other nonsense in order to lose weight. As well as marking every single food as “good” or “bad”. Now especially, is the time of year where people lean towards crash/fad diets as it’s coming up to Christmas. What happens then is during and after Christmas, they put all the weight back on, trust me. No no no noooooo!!!!! Go to any decent personal trainer or gym instructor and they will tell you... 1. Your body needs carbohydrates for energy. 2. Strength training burns more calories for longer. 3. You do not have to eat 6 small meals a day all before 7pm to be ‘healthy’. And yes, I’m no gym goddess. But I have been training properly and eating according to my lifestyle, my goals and my preferences for over a year now and the difference is insane. The real difference between getting fast results by doing a crash diet or getting long term slow and steady results by training and getting your nutrition right is this… If you use a crash diet, yeah you’ll lose weight quickly, but it’s not sustainable so you end up putting it all if not more back on very quickly. With proper training and nutrition - that means eating foods that are not only nutrient dense, but foods that you also enjoy eating, your body doesn’t feel deprived or lack energy so if you happen to go on a night out at the weekend or go on a holiday for a week, yeah you might be up a pound or two, but that’s normally just water weight that comes off really quickly when you go back to your regular training and nutrition that you can stick to. My main point is… don’t starve yourself, don’t deprive yourself of good foods that you think are “bad” no food is “bad” on its own. Some foods are more calorie dense than others yes, and over consumption of those foods is not recommended. But you don’t have to eat chicken broccoli and rice all day every day to see results.

OLD-FASHIONED HAM
WITH BROWN SUGAR AND MUSTARD GLAZE
INGREDIENTS • • • • • •
10 servings 1 (10-pound) smoked ham with rind, preferably shank end 1 cup unsweetened apple juice or apple cider 1/2 cup whole grain Dijon mustard 2/3 cup (packed) golden brown sugar 1/4 cup honey
METHOD
Preheat oven to 160c. Place ham in large roasting pan. Pour apple juice over ham. Cover ham completely with parchment paper, then cover ham and roasting pan completely with heavy-duty foil, sealing tightly at edges of pan. Bake ham until instant-read thermometer inserted into center of ham registers 65c, about 3 hours 45 minutes. Remove ham from oven. Increase oven temperature to 180c Remove foil and parchment from ham. Drain and discard liquids from roasting pan. Cut off rind and all but 1/4-inch-thick layer of fat from ham and discard. Using long sharp knife, score fat in 1-inch-wide, 1/4-inch-deep diamond pattern. Spread mustard evenly over fat layer on ham. Pat brown sugar over mustard coating, pressing firmly to adhere. Drizzle honey evenly over. Bake until ham is well glazed, spooning any mustard and sugar glaze that slides into roasting pan back over ham, about 30 minutes. Transfer ham to serving platter; let cool at least 15 minutes. Slice ham and serve with a parsley sauce

TORQUING CARS! FORD LAUNCHES NEW KEYLESS FOB TO COMBAT RELAY ATTACKS
The new key fob enters a sleep mode after 40 seconds without movement, after which it will not respond to hacking attempts Ford has launched an aftermarket key fob upgrade that makes its keyless entry models far less vulnerable to theft via relay attack. The new fob is equipped with a motion sensor that detects when the key has been stationary for more than 40 seconds.Once the 40-second time period passes without movement, the key fob enters a sleep mode and will not respond to any hacking attempts, including relay attacks where thieves use a special device to boost the signal between a key inside a house and a car outside, so they can unlock it and start its engine.Ford’s keyless fobs are designed to only work within a two-metre radius of the car. The new key will reactivate as soon as it detects motion again and will unlock the car as soon as the owner takes it into this two-metre vicinity. The upgraded fob now comes as standard with all new Fiesta and Focus models. In addition, existing owners of these models can purchase the key as an aftermarket upgrade.
BMW 1 SERIES SPIED AT THE NURBURGRING IN M135I GUISE
A lightly camouflaged M-Sport edition of the third-generation BMW 1 Series has been caught on camera lapping the Nurburgring BMW’s new Audi A3 and Volkswagen Golf rival has received a substantial rethink over the outgoing model. Following in the footsteps of its competitors, the mark-three 1 Series hatch has ditched its rear-wheel-drive layout in favour of a new front-wheeldrive platform, borrowed from the latest MINI. This lightly camouflaged M135i mule is our latest glimpse of the model. The rangetopping performance-focussed flagship will use BMW’s 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol, with 302bhp and 450Nm of torque. It will feed its power through an eight-speed automatic gearbox to an all-wheel-drive system, making it a direct competitor for models such as the Volkswagen Golf R, Mercedes-AMG A 45 and Ford Focus RS. Other revisions for the M135i include a wider track, improved steering response, a more rigid body shell (with a ‘boomerang’ rear strut), a torque-vectoring limited-slip differential and a revised stability control system, all of which BMW claims will benefit body control and ride quality. Buyers can also spec sport springs and dampers across the new 1 Series range. Our exclusive images preview how the new 1 Series could look, while spy shots confirm the new model will feature a more cab-forward design than the current car. As one of BMW’s biggest sellers, the German brand has evolved the hatchback’s styling rather than giving it a dramatic overhaul.
FIAT PAIRS UP WITH TESLA TO AVOID EU EMISSION FINES
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles to pay Tesla “hundreds of millions” of euros to share fleet CO2 emissions and meet tough EU targets Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) is to pay Tesla “hundreds of millions” of euros to enable Tesla’s electric cars to count as part of FCA’s “pool” of vehicles for the purpose of CO2 emission measurement, thereby allowing FCA to meet stringent EU emission targets. Under the deal, first reported by the Financial Times, the Tesla Model 3, S and X will become part of FCA’s vehicle fleet for the purposes of counting carbon dioxide emissions, enabling FCA to more easily meet EU targets.European Union rules will require carmakers to post average CO2 emissions of 95g/km across all the cars they sell by 2020 and 2021. Cars from FCA, which owns Fiat and Alfa Romeo, as well as Ferrari, Maserati and Jeep, emitted 123g/km of CO2 on average last year, according to data cited by the Financial Times, meaning the 95g/km target is likely to be hard to hit within a year or two.Carmakers who do not meet the fleet average targets will have to pay fines of €95 (roughly £82) for every g/km of CO2 over the 95g/km target each car they sell emits. Analysts cited by the Financial Times claim FCA could face fines of more than €2 billion by 2021 if the company’s fleet CO2 emissions aren’t reduced. EU rules permit companies to “pool” their emissions with internal brands, meaning Volkswagen can share fleet-average emissions with SEAT, Skoda and Audi, and PSA brands (Peugeot, Citroenand Vauxhall) can do similarly. But external pools – where one company teams up with another – are also permitted, and the FCA-Tesla deal is believed to be the first of its kind.

LAUGHTER ....THE BEST MEDICINE ! FLYING ACROSS THE COUNTRY IN AIR FORCE ONE, THE PRESIDENT JOKES WITH HIS STAFF. “I’m thinking about tossing a $100 bill out the window and making someone very happy.” A White House aide comments, “Why don’t you throw twenty $100 bills out the window and make twenty people happy?” Another staffer jokes, “Why don’t you throw a hundred $100 bills out the window and make a hundred people happy?” A member of the plane staff, wanting to get in on the act, chimes in and says, “Why don’t you throw yourself out the window and make half the country happy?”
THREE GUYS ARE STAYING ON THE TOP FLOOR OF A 600 STORY HOTEL.
They return from a party one night and discover that the elevator is broken, so they have to take the stairs to the 600th floor. They decide that in order to pass the time each of them would tell a story. For the first 200 floors, someone would tell a happy story, then for the next 200 one would tell a scary story, and for the last 200 one would tell a sad story. This strategy worked well for the first 400 floors. It was now time for the last guy to tell a sad story. For the next 100 floors, the last guy tried his best to come up with a story that would move his friends to tears, when finally, he stopped on the stairs. “Guys. I have a sad story now.” The others stop and face him. “I left the keys in the lobby.”

A MAN CALLS HOME TO HIS BROTHER WHILE ON A TRIP.
The man asks, “How’s my cat?” The brother says, “Right after you left, the cat got out, ran into the street and was killed by a passing car.” The man says, “that’s a hard way to break that news to me. I wish you had prepared me for it instead of just blurting it out like that.” The brother asks, “What would you have wanted me to say?”

TALKING SPORT WITH THE TRALEE ADVERTISER EVERYTHING’S COMING UP ROSES!
with “The Voice” Pat Harnett
FAI NATIONAl P.R.O. OF THE YEAR CORK MAN CELEBRATE CIRCUIT WIN WITH MILK! Firstly well done to everyone involved in the Kerry Motor Club and all the marshals who worked so hard to ensure the Rose Hotel Circuit of Kerry Rally 2019 was such a great success with the reception for the overseas crews and the RALLYTOWN event in the town centre on Saturday proving to be a great success. The work of the voluntary committee and indeed all the volunteers needs to be recognised and is something that I will come back in a forthcoming edition. The day was perfect for the crew who tackled the 3 stages – Knights Mountain, Headley’s Bridge and Mount Eagle 3 three times. In the end it was Midleton man Darragh O’Riordan who took the win in his impressive Ford Fiesta WRC. He was more than a minute clear of Pat O’Connell in the Mitsubishi Lancer. Ed Synan and Padraig Egan were both in Subaru’s and were challenging before they both went out. From a Kerry point of view Mike Quinn and Tony Healy were showing good pace in their new WRC Subaru Impreza S11. After the nine stages Faha co-driver Shane Buckley was the top Kerry competitor as he called the notes for Welshman Tomas Davies. The best Kerry crew were Ed Murphy and Keith McCarthy driving another Escort, they finished ninth overall in their Escort. Kerry Motor Club honours went to Tim Enright and Stephen Buckley in another Escort while the Killarney and District Motor Club honours went to Charlie and Johnny Hickey who were 12thin another Escort. Tom Relihan and Maurice McElligott are the provisional leaders of the Moriarty’s Centra Kingdom of Kerry Rally Championship after winning class 13 in their Ford Escort. It was a great day for many of the Kerry crews especially the O’Rourke family as Jamie who was competing in his first rally alongside his uncle Paddy. They took home the James O’Rourke Memorial Trophy, named after

Jamie’s father. PJ O’Dowd showed the spirit of rallying when he donated his spare gearbox to the Limerick dup of Maurice and Stephen Meskell and they went on to win the Historic section in the car prepared by local mechanic Brendan Brosnan. Tralee man O’Dowd when on to take third in his Talbot Sunbeam with John Young on the notes. The Junior section was won by Donagh Crowley and Denis Nagle in their Toyota Starlet. Once again one of the highlights of this rally was the number of overseas crews and visitors that were in Tralee for the weekend bringing a great early season economic boost to the town. And the milk in the title – for the first time in Ireland the Indy 500 tradition of the winner drinking milk was seen after a rally in this country thanks to the sponsorship of Ballymac Dairies. Big Weekend for Mossie: Trabert’s Mossie Costello will make his rally debut this weekend in Saturday’s Moonraker Rally which is based in Ballyvourney.
LEAGUE OF IRELAND CORNER: It was another great weekend for the Kerry 15’s and 17’s who both recorded very impressive wins. All four Kerry sides were involved in games against Limerick. The 15’s were 5-2 winners in Limerick with the 17’s also winning away 2-1. The 13’s went down at Mounthawk Park as did the 19’s but both management and squads are working hard. This weekend the 13’s and 15’s are at home to Galway United on Saturday with the 17’s at home to Cork on Sunday and the 19’s away to the same opposition. COUNTY CLEAN-UP: All cubs have the County CleanUp in their notes. It is great to see these volunteers, who are busy with their club issues, giving up their time for the good of the community. This is a vital day in enhancing the look of our community and indeed in an ideal world this would not be needed. But it is and we thank all those who take part in the 2019 County Clean-Up day.
AT THE TRACK:
This Friday night at the Kingdom Greyhound Track it’s the final of the John and Mary Killeacle Dowling Memorial stake, the final of the Kasko Mealettes A6 Stake, the final of the Ballymac Kennels Coursing bred 325 yards plus the final of the Moyvane Community Sports Hall A2 stake which is the feature of their benefit night. Also on Friday night is the first round heats of the KGOBA A6 confined stake. The following night, Saturday night, the first race starts at 7.45pm featuring the first round heat of the Kingdom Stadium Novice 325 yards. On Sunday the first race of the SIS meeting takes place at 6.58pm. The track is currently taking entries for the Lee Strand A3 confined 550 yds starting in Fri Apr 19th. KERRY GIRLS SURVIVE AFTER PLAY-OFF: Kerry travelled to the Ragg in Thurles today to face Carlow in the Littlewoods Ireland National Camogie League Division 2 Playoff with the winners safe in Division 2 for the 2020 season while the losers would have to face Dublin on Sunday next to decide who would survive in the second tier. On a perfect day for camogie, it was Kerry who hit the ground running with Patrice Diggin giving Kerry and early 5 point lead. They were 0-05 to 0-01up at the break and added further point from Jackie Horgan before a Carlow mini-comeback. This was short lived and points from Diggin and Laura Collins saw Kerry secure their Division 2 status. This was a just reward for the girls hard work all season and they will now go into the Championship with lots of confidence. Kerry Team: Aoife Fitzgerald, Liz Houlihan, Niamh Leen, Capt, Michelle Costello, Patrice Diggin
Sara Murphy, Aoife Behan, Elaine Ryall, Rachel McCarthy, Julianne O’Keeffe, Laura Collins, Eilish Harrington, Alannah Whelan, Jackie Horgan, Brid Horan. PARNELLS NEWS: The Parnell’s club were celebrating another milestone this week with their first senior game where they took on Lixnaw in the Intermediate Hurling League. The history making game took place on April 5th. This was the first adult team from Parnell’s since the 1919 Kerry County Hurling Championship. For the record the team was: Porter Robin, Ciaran Murray, Ciaran Breen, Johnny Downey, Eoghan McKivergan, Tadhg Brick (Capt.), Andrew Morrissey, Barry Lyons, Cathal Dunne, Paul Daly, Cillian O’Riordan, Daniel Teahan , Ronan Gilsenan, Mark Ryall, Danny Maguire, Savage Martin, Tom Crowley, Damien Kissane, Ian Moynihan. The team was managed by Brian Shanahan. The club were very thankful to Lixnaw for the wonderful hospitality and the plaque presented to Parnells Chair Dermot Reen to mark the occasion. In the Underage section the under 10 boys took part in a very enjoyable Go Games Blitz in Caherslee, the u12team bounced back from their loss to Crotta to defeat Ballyheigue in Division 1 and the u16 boys beat Kilmoyley in the County League, Well done to the Scor na bPaisti members who won the Drama county title in Glenbeigh. The quiz team were very unlucky not to also take the county title as the finished in joint second place, just one point behind winners Na Gaeil. The Easter camp is back and its now over 4 days. Reserve your child’s place by filling in the online form from the link on our club Facebook. The Camp runs from Monday the 15th to Thursday 18th of April, 10 to 1 pm and it’s only €35 per child. AUSTIN STACKS JUVENILE NEWS: The u6/8’s and u10’s had a great day away to the Legion. They are back training as normal this weekend. The u12 A and B sides began their Lee Strand County League campaigns away to Kenmare. The A’s racked up a big win but the B’s went down narrowly to the Kenmare B side. They are both in action again this weekend. The

The club’s Cul Camp will take place in Connolly Park from July 1st to July 5th with registration open. Austin Stacks pass on their congratulations to Parnells on the fielding of their first ever senior team. There were also congratulations to the CBS on their Russell Cup win with the club providing a number of players to the victorious squad. Scor News: The only Kerry representative in the Senior Scor finals will be Churchill who will be representing the Tralee area. The team is Michael Gaynor, Paul Culloty, John Flaherty and Alex O’Donnell. The final is on in Castlebar this Saturday. The u10’s put in a very active session and are training on the pitch and on the All Weather. They are working on different aspects of the game and are all working hard and progressing well. Picking a Player of the Week is never easy and this week Sharon Enright gets the nod. The u12’s travelled to Valentia for the latest round of the County League and came away with a good win against a young South Kerry side. This Sunday they are at
home to Waterville. The u14 Girls are at home to Spa in the next round of the Non-County u14 Kerry player County League this Saturday. The u14 Boys put in a good effort especially in the first half but in the end lost out to Na Gaeil. They were due to play Duagh in midweek. The u16’s, in combination with Dingle, lost out to Austin Stacks B. In Round 1 Group 4 of the Kerry Petroleum Junior Premier Club Championship the Senior’s defeated Fossa by a goal 1-12 to 0-12 with the game taking place in Farrnafore. The goal which was the vital score came from Liam Poff in the first half. This win puts the team in a great position as they take on St Micheals Foilmore in Round 2 this Sunday with the throw-in provisionally set for 2.30pm. Club members and others from the community will be taking part in the County Clean-Up Day this Saturday on the road from Tonevane to Derrymore. Anyone interested are asked to meet at the old filling station at 8am. KERINS O’RAHILLY The Seniors enjoyed a very good opening day in the Kerry Petroleum Club Championship where the travelled to Killarney to take on a very strong Rathmore side. And they came away with an impressive but narrow 1-16 to 3-09 win. The East Kerry side’s ability to get goals saw them lead 3-05 to 0-08 at the break but the Tralee side took control in the second half and outscored Rathmore 1-08 to 0-04 points. Rahillys led by three points late on in the game but Rathmore battled to the end with two late points. But it was the Tralee side that took the valuable win. In the end a goal from Duagh was crucial and they took the win in the end 1-12 to 0-05. They were due to play Annascaul / Lispole in mid-week. The u12’s won their first County League game against Gneeveguilla after a blistering first half that saw them lead 5-07 to no score. While their opponents battled back the Tralee boys were too strong in the end. They are away to Spa this Sunday at 6pm. The u16 began their Central Region campaign away to Milltown/Castlemaine and despite struggling against the wind they led 0-11 to 0-07. The home side were stronger in the second half

and won on a 1-15 to 1-10 scoreline. Their mid-week game was called off due to a bereavement in the opposition club. In the Girls section excitement is building ahead of the u14’s trip to Croke Park next Monday. This is a huge day for the young players and one they will always remember. They have received great support. The club are holding a table quiz in Charlie’s Bistro this Sunday, April 14th at 5pm to raise money for the u10 girls and u12 boys who are also heading to Croke Park. The u16’s drew with Fossa in a very exciting game and are away to Castlegregory this Friday with a 6.45pm throw-in and the girls train on Tuesday nights. The Minor and Senior Ladies continue to train each week and are looking forward to their games and the club is always open to welcome new members. BALLYMAC NEWS: The Seniors will be out again this weekend in Round 2 of the Kerry Petrol Club Championship. The exact fixture was not available at times of going to print. The Minors are through to a County League Division 5 semi-final after securing the last qualifying spot where they will play Ballyduff this Friday at 6.45pm. The Ladies took on Clounmacon / Moyvane in the Mary Jo Curran Cup and with Ballymac only having 14 players the game was played at 13-a-side. Clounmacon proved to be the stronger on the day winning 4-11 to 1-05. The Girls put in a great effort on the day. The u16 Girls took on Rathmore in Division 1 of the County League. While they gave it their all the opposition won 3-13 to 1-08. The u12 Girls took on Na Gaeil and hit 3-01 to the Tralee sides 1-07.
