The More you tell the more you sell!!!

LEGAL MATTERS CORNER MIRIAM MC GILLICUDDY ANSWERS YOUR LEGAL QUERIES Legal matters corner – Flight Matters. Sean arrived at Dublin Airport and his flight was cancelled and he was offered an alternative flight to his holiday destination the following day. What are Sean’s rights? When Sean’s flight is cancelled and this applies regardless of when he was notified of the cancellation – his air carrier must offer him a choice between: A.re-routing as close as possible to the original departure time; B.re-routing at a later date; or C. a refund of the cost of the unused flight ticket. Any other entitlements would depend on when Sean had notice of the cancellation. Where there was less than 7 day’s notice of the cancellation… ..and he chose option A above and were given re-routing which departed no more than 1 hour before the original departure time and arrived no more than 2 hours after the original arrival time, then he is not entitled to compensation from his air carrier. However if he has chosen option A and was re-routed outside of the timeframes above as is the case he is entitled to compensation unless the air carrier can prove the cancellation was caused by extraordinary circumstances/ circumstances outside their control. In relation to his choice: to be re-routed as soon as possible (option A) then the air carrier must provide him with “care and assistance” whilst he is waiting on his alternative flight which is this case is the following day and involves an overnight stay. This care and assistance could include meals and refreshments (as is reasonable relation to the waiting time); • hotel accommodation (where an overnight stay becomes necessary); • transport between the airport and the hotel (where necessary); and • 2 telephone calls/ faxes/ emails. If the airline does not provide the above assistance to him and he is forced to make his own arrangements, he should retain all his receipts as he will be entitled to reimbursement of his expenses. Sean hopefully will get immediate help from the Airline in relation to all of the above but if he does not and has to book his own hotel and sort out meals he should keep receipts and claim from the Airline afterwards. If Sean had received between 7 days and 2 week’s notice of the cancellation… ..and he chose option A and were given re-routing which departed no more than 2 hours before the original departure time and arrived no more than 4 hours after the original arrival time he is not entitled to compensation from his airline. For further information on your rights flying e.g. lost luggage and travel assistance see www.flightrights.ie

KERRY SKIN CLINIC

WARTS AND VERRUCAS BY DR DAVID BUCKLEY Warts and verrucas (warts on the sole of the feet) are very common, especially in children. They are caused by the human papilloma virus. They are usually harmless and often clear up without treatment in children after one to two years. Not all warts require treatment especially in children. It is probably better not to treat warts on children under the age of six years old as the pain and discomfort of the treatment can often be worse than the wart itself. For children between the ages of 6 and 12, warts and verrucas should only be treated if they are causing problems such as pain or are extremely unsightly such as large warts on the back of the hands or warts affecting their face. Painful verrucas on the sole of the feet causing a limp may also have to be treated. The first line of treatment in these children would usually be a wart pain or gel that can be purchased over the counter in the pharmacy without prescription. Most of these wart paints and gels contain salicylic acid which helps to kill off the cells that are infected by the wart virus.

They are usually applied, once at night, to the affected areas after paring the wart down with a blade or an emery board. Treatment can take six to twelve weeks of nightly treatment. These wart paints and gels are not usually suitable for the face. Adults with unsightly or uncomfortable warts, that fail to clear with simple over-the-counter treatments as mentioned above, may be suitable for treatment with cryosurgery which is a freezing treatment that is carried out by a trained doctor. If the wart is bigger than 5mm in diameter or if there is a cluster of warts, it usually a lot less painful to freeze the wart under local anaesthetic which involves giving a small prick of a needle to numb the area before the freeze. Cryosurgery can cause swelling and blistering in the frozen area, but this usually heals after two to four weeks in majority of cases. The freezing treatment, when carried out correctly with perfect technique under local anaesthetic, can have a cure rate of 90% to 95% with one single treatment. Home freezing kits which can be bought in the pharmacy do not reach the cold temperatures required to destroy warts and are not effective. Warts that are resistant to treatment by your GP may need to be referred to a skin specialist for expert care. Unusual looking warts may need to be biopsied to ensure that they are not mistaken for an underlying skin cancer.

The works will be carried out by Coffey Northumbrian Ltd. in partnership with Kerry County Council on behalf of Irish Water. “As they get older, some pipes have a high level of leakage as well as being subject to frequent bursts.” said Steven Blennerhassett, Leakage Reduction Programme Regional Lead, Irish Water. “Replacing the old, damaged cast iron pipes will ensure better water quality and a more reliable water supply. Traffic management will be in place during this time. Local and emergency traffic will be maintained at all times. The works may involve some short-term water shut offs and the project team will ensure that customers are given a minimum of 48 hours notice prior to any planned water shut offs. “We will continue to work with the community to minimise disruption. Crowning of Reigning Queen of Puck Kicks Off Preparations for Puck Fair 2019

KNOW YOUR RIGHTS: ELECTRIC SCOOTERS Question Travelling to my office through city traffic is taking me longer because of increased congestion. Can I travel by electric scooter instead? Answer An electric scooter (sometimes called an e-scooter) is a small platform with two or more wheels that is propelled by an electric motor. The rider can also propel the electric scooter forward by pushing off the ground. Electric scooters and electric skateboards fall into the category of ‘mechanically propelled vehicles’ (as defined in the Road Traffic Act 1961). If a vehicle can be powered by mechanical or electrical power alone, then it is considered to be a ‘mechanically propelled vehicle’.

Hear ye, hear ye – a new queen has arrived in town! With the annual Puck Fair celebrations just around the corner, preparations for the biggest event of the year are already well underway in Killorglin and an integral part of that is the selection of her royal highness, Queen Puck. The selection process sees an independent judging panel trawl through all the entry letters from 6th class pupils across the region before interviewing each hopeful and hearing them read aloud the famous Puck Fair welcome speech, which is recited during the Coronation Ceremony on the festival’s opening day. The legendary 3-day event, which runs annually on the 10th, 11th and 12th of August, is Ireland’s oldest gathering festival One little lady who is especially excited for this year’s celebrations is 12-year-old Maeve McCarthy from Cromane Lower in Killorglin, who has just been crowned as Queen of Puck Fair. Maeve, a student of Scoil Réalt na Mara in Cromane, will now take her rightful place among a long list of former Puck Queens, each of whom has played a central role in Puck Fair over the decades. Much like her predecessors, Maeve’s duties will include meeting and greeting visitors to the festival, addressing the crowd in the town’s main square on day one of the fair and of course, the all-important crowning of King Puck during the Coronation Ceremony. Although a lot of responsibility will fall on her royal shoulders, it seems that Maeve is most certainly up to the task, if her letter to the Puck Fair committee is anything to go by: Despite an onslaught of letters from 6th class students in the region, all with hopes pinned on becoming the reigning queen, Maeve’s letter was selected as a standout entry and she is now gearing up to take on the role of her dreams. Maeve said: “I really can’t believe the committee chose me out of all the entries they received. I’m so happy that they liked my letter and I can’t believe that I’ll get the chance to be Puck Queen, which is something I’ve wanted to be since I was tiny! The 2019 Puck Fair line-up is looking more promising than ever, with the usual wide range of free family fun activities, children’s entertainment and musical acts on For information and updates on Puck Fair 2019, visit www.puckfair.ie or follow @puckfair on Facebook and @puck_fair on Twitter.

Under Irish road traffic law, people using such vehicles in a public place must have insurance, road tax and a driving licence. There are penalties under road traffic laws (including fixed charge notices, penalty points, fines and possible seizure of the vehicle) for not being in compliance with these requirements. As it is currently not possible to tax or insure electric scooters or skateboards, they are not considered suitable for use in public places. However, the Road Safety Authority is carrying out research as to how electric scooters and other such vehicles are regulated in other countries, particularly in other EU member states. The goal is to understand the road safety implications of the use of such vehicles on public roads, especially when interacting with other vehicles. BEXBLAH

FITNESS!

HELLO STRONG PEOPLE I hope you are all having a fantastic week! This week I am specifically talking to all my gals about two things - cellulite and stretch marks! The amount of things I see online where girls are asking ‘how do I get rid of cellulite/stretch marks’ is insane, so I said I’d address it. IT’S NORMAL. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH HAVING EITHER OF THESE THINGS, IT IS COM-PLETELY NORMAL. NOT UGLY OR UNHEALTHY. Because you’re a woman, you will have a different collagen structures in your thigh area than

men due to hormones. Also, because women have high levels of estrogen, they tend to store more fat because we are designed to be able to carry an unborn child so we need to store extra fat. Depend-ing on your collagen structure and hormonal levels you may be more or less susceptible to cellulite. If you want to ‘improve’ the appearance of your cellulite, move more. Walk more, get that blood circulating and that will help with any excess cellulite. But that won’t necessarily get rid of it. Weight lifting and building muscle can help but essentially you may never be able to get rid of it completely because that’s the way our bodies are designed. IT IS NORMAL. Nothing to be ashamed of or feel bad about.

They are nothing to be ashamed of and are not ‘bad’. Although if they really bother you and you can remember to do it daily, applying bio oil can help. PS: Most pictures you see online, if not all are edited. Nobody is ‘perfect’ and perfect is not some-thing anyone should be aiming to be. Once you know you’re healthy, lead an active lifestyle and aim to have a positive outlook on your life and yourself, that’s all you should worry about!

Now onto stretch marks, again they can be due to your body changing, which happens to most women as they get older and go through puberty/pregnancy.

Beauty

HELLO BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE! I HOPE YOU’RE HAVING AN AMAZING WEEK!

Last week I talked about my product wishlist - products that I want to buy. So this week I thought I’d talk about products that I use EVERY time I do my makeup. TOO FACED FOUNDATION If you don’t know now you know, my current obsession when it comes to foundation. I just love how this applies, how it lasts and the coverage is perfect. I wear Warm Beige with Tan and Light Beige without.

CLARINS SOS PRIMER No matter what makeup look I’m doing I will always use one of these primers first! Each one has a different purpose, radiance, fatigued skin, blemishes, redness, dark spots, sunkissed skin etc, so I always switch up the one I use. Definitely a favourite of mine.

SOSU X KEILIDH URBAN BIBLE PALETTE I use this palette EVERY DAY. Not even exaggerating. It’s the perfect size, the brown shades in it are the exact shades I like, and if I want to add a pop of colour I can. IDEAL.

CLARINS BRONZING COMPACT Hands down one of the best bronzers I have tried. It’s so big, will easily last you over a year. I don’t think I will ever hit pan on it to be honest.

ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS BROW BRUSH This has been my favourite brow brush for YEARS. Honestly. The Anastasia Beverly Hills brow brush no. 12 is just perfect. I’ll probably use it forever that’s how well it works for me.

FENTY GLOSS BOMB If I have gloss on (which is always) it’s the Fenty Gloss Bomb. It’s my perfect gloss, for me it finishes off my lips - unless I’m wearing red lipstick.

Good Skin Naturally when purchasing your natural product.

The skin is the largest organ in the body and covers approximately 20 square feet. It protects us from the elements, regulates the body temperature and allows us the sensations of touch, heat and cold. It is a passageway that helps rid our body of unwanted toxins and prevents chemical and waste build up. If our pores are congested and blocked with chemicals and pollutants this can prevent the skin from functioning properly. Every gust of wind, cough and blast from exhaust pipes hits our skin first and it is our first line of defence. Like every other part of our body, our skin responds to care and attention. Bright, vibrant skin can signal health and vitality. Looking after it, can help slow down the ageing process, keeping it healthier for longer (and keeps us looking better!). What we put on our skin is just as important as what we put into our bodies; both have an effect on our overall health. Remember your skin absorbs about 60% of what you put on it and when these products contain artificial ingredients this places an unnecessary burden on our bodies’ detoxification process and your immune system, including the skin. Some of these chemicals can build up and remain in the body for long periods of time before they are completely eliminated. Most of us use several skin and body care products daily, but when was the last time you looked at the ingredients in any of the products you are using? By choosing to use natural or organic products you can be assured this will have a positive effect on your body and your skin. Becoming an informed consumer allows you to make smart choices

Call Chris or Colette Tel: 066-7126399 or e-mail : traleeadvertiser@gmail.com

There is a vast selection of natural products available and are just as fabulous and effective as the more widely known brands. Some of our favourite natural moisturisers, cleansers, body washes, etc instore include HAREBELL HERBS, DR MAHERS, DR HAUSCHKA, TRILOGY, and KINVARA. Remember healthy skin comes from within so some important supplements to consider include Omega 3:6:9 we would recommend ESKIMO, VIRIDIAN or NORDIC NATURALS. Take a ZINC supplement to help maintain healthy skin, hair and nails. VITAMIN B12 may help with the reduction of tiredness and fatigue (which can show on your skin). POMEGRANATE EXTRACT is high in antioxidants and may help to reduce spots and wrinkles on the skin. SELENIUM is essential to the body’s antioxidant defence. May help prevent DNA from oxidative damage. Call in to any of our stores where you will find all of these supplements and we are always happy to discuss which product will suit your specific requirements. Until next time, stay healthy.

A LITTLE GIRL SAYS TO HER MOTHER: "MUMMY, WHEN YOU WERE AWAY AT WORK A STRANGE LADY CAME AROUND"

"Not now," says Mummy. "Wait until Daddy gets home." So they wait until Daddy gets home, and then Mummy says "Now dear, what were you saying about Daddy and the strange lady?" And Daddy starts to say something but Mummy says, "You keep quiet - I'll be talking to my attorney in the morning. Carry on, dear." "Well," says the little girl, "Daddy told me to stay downstairs while they went upstairs, but I followed them without Daddy seeing me, and I saw them hugging and kissing at the top of the stairs. Then they went into your bedroom and shut the door, but I went up and looked through the keyhole." "Clever girl," purrs Mummy. "What could you see through the keyhole?" "I saw them hugging and kissing some more, and then they lay down on the bed . "Yes?" says Mummy. "And then what happened?" "Then they did what you and Uncle Jack did when Daddy was in Vancouver last year," says the little girl confidently.

TORQUING CARS! NEW 2020 FORD SHELBY MUSTANG GT500 TO PRODUCE 760BHP

The Ford Shelby Mustang GT500 muscle car will be the most powerful production model Ford has ever built, but sadly it's not coming to Europe. The new Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 will arrive on the American market in 2020 with a host of chassis and aerodynamic upgrades, as well as a new engine that will be the most powerful Ford has ever built. The GT500’s unit is a hand-built all-aluminium, supercharged 5.2-litre V8 fitted with forged con-rods, a new structural engine sump and a water-to-air intercooler system. It produces 760bhp and 847Nm of torque, which Ford claims makes it the world’s most power-dense supercharged production V8 engine. It feeds its power to a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, through a carbon fibre propshaft to the rear wheels. The transmission is capable of shifting gear in under 100 milliseconds and has a series of drive modes tailored towards road, track and drag strip driving.Ford is yet to disclose full performance specifications for the Mustang GT500, which is set to rival the Dodge Challenger Hellcat and Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, but the American brand has revealed its latest flagship muscle car will have a 0–62mph time of around three seconds and will cover the quarter-mile in under 11 seconds. Inside, the new GT500 boasts a digital gauge cluster and an eight-inch touchscreen. Optional extras include a carbon fibre dash, Recaro racing seats, race harnesses, a 12-speaker Bang and Olufsen sound system and suede door cards.Pricing information for the latest Mustang GT500 is yet to be announced,

CAR ADVICE WITH HONEST JOHN – YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED Plug-in leads

I have just had a MINI Countryman PHEV on a 2 day test-drive, which was a useful way to properly assess the car. It was good, but suffered from a few negatives, notably the high price and the slightly mean battery range. I have since been looking at used Golf GTEs Hybrid (2-3 years old), which appear to have the same benefits with a bit more range. Are there any worries with the drive train, particularly the 1.4 engine? JM, Wootton HJ says ...The Golf GTE is relatively good. Go for it !

Sticky point

I have owned a Citroen Xsara Picasso Desire 2.0HDI for over 15 years which has now done over 201,000 miles, it has given good service. I am considering purchasing a used diesel Volvo XC60 D4 or D5 but are concerned at your comments in last Saturday’s paper that lots of Volvo owners of D4s and D5s have damaged the injection system by using ordinary diesel. Should this have read ordinary petrol? I live in the sticks and cannot get premium diesel locally. If this a problem, what alternative to the XC60 would you suggest. Average 20,000 miles per year. PB, via email H.J says No. The 2.0 litre Volvo D4 engine introduced in 2012 absolutely requires Superdiesel because it is optimised for this fuel and using a lesser fuel seems to damage the very sensitive injectors. At least that's what the engine development engineer told me face to face at the launch of the engine. Maybe you should be considering either the Honda CR-V mild hybrid or the new Land Rover Discovery Sport mild hybrid. But surely, even if you live in the sticks, at 20,000 miles a year you must pass filling stations with superdiesel regularly.

TORQUING CARS! NEW-CAR EMISSIONS TAX 'COULD CAUSE SALES TO PLUNGE -ACT NOW !

WHILE much of the public focus has been on the electrification of our cars for the future, it is easy to overlook the fact that another, more immediate, decision lies waiting to be dealt with.As you probably know, new cars' emissions are now assessed and taxed on the basis of readings under more stringent real-world evaluation. It is called the WLTP test. It has meant that even in its aggregated NEDC guise, quite a proportion of cars - around the 20pc mark, according to some sources - have shot up the VRT and road tax bands. Result? More VRT and road tax in many cases.Such has been the extent of increase under the current interim NEDC system that there are fears of even greater rises when the fullblown WLTP data are applied from January next. Just be aware: the cars are not polluting more. On the contrary, they have never been as clean. It is just that their 'real-world' consumption performance is being more accurately measured. That's how the higher CO2 emission readings have come about and why so many are being pushed into more severe tax bands. Now it is being forecast that if the Government doesn't do something about the current bands there could be huge price increases and a corresponding plunge in new-car buying.According to one motor industry expert, sales could plunge by 45,000.And he is forecasting that those hardest hit will be buyers of popular family SUVs.Paddy Magee, country operations director for Renault in Ireland, predicts that many SUVs, such as his own brand's Kadjar, could go up by anything between €4,000 and €5,000 if the Government chooses to leave things alone on this issue in the Budget. He says the new-car market could nosedive to as few as 55,000/65,000 in 2020. That would be a significant drop from the projected total for next year - and pose a real threat to thousands of jobs. There are fears that a 'silent' stealth strategy will be followed by Government as the current 'green' drive takes hold and fossil-fuel cars become fair game - again.Since the new more stringent WLTP emissions test system came in for all cars from last September, most vehicles have shown an increase in CO2.The Government undertook to study the impact of the new system over the year and address it in the Budget after seeing how many cars were, or are likely to be, affected. But now there are widening fears that they will extract exchequer revenue from new cars given the political sentiment - as outlined in the Climate Action Plan - to drastically lower the number of fossil-fuelled vehicles bought each year.Mr Magee told Independent Motors: "There is a real danger this will happen. I have spoken with colleagues and the fear is real."There is also the real concern that a drastic lowering of car sales would mean jobs being affected."The industry employs more than 40,000 at the moment."We need clarity on what is going to happen because the uncertainty is causing chaos," Mr Magee added. MAYOR OF LONDON ANNOUNCES PLAN FOR MORE EV CHARGING POINTS

Mayor of London Sadiq Khan has announced further plans for more public electric car charging points in the capital, citing central London's “lack of infrastructure” for drivers of electric vehicles. London is currently on course to hit its target of 200 to 400 rapid charging points and 3,400 to 4,700 slow to fast charging points by 2020, in order to support the anticipated 45,000 EVs on the capital's streets by next year. The plan now is to have a total of 2,300 to 4,100 rapid charging points and 33,700 to 47,500 slow to fast charging points in the city by 2025, when it’s predicted there could be around 330,000 EVs in London. At present 25 per cent of all of the UK’s EV charging points are in London, with 2,400 of them spread across 1,200 locations.Speaking exclusively to Auto Express, Mr Khan said: “One the biggest obstacles [to EV ownership] that people tell me [about] is the lack of infrastructure, the lack of enough rapid charging points, the lack of enough charging points and so what we’ve announced today is a delivery plan to how we get there.“We have in London now more rapid charging points than any major city in the world, but we need more and this is a plan to get more. We have in London now more than 2,400 normal charging points; over the last four months alone we’ve had more than 1,100 being rolled out – we need more.”

EVERYTHING’S COMING UP ROSES!

TALKING SPORT WITH THE TRALEE ADVERTISER

O’Connell and Darragh Sweeney they went down 2-15 to 3-05. They were due to face Ardfert in midweek.

with “The Voice” Pat Harnett

FAI NATIONAl P.R.O. OF THE YEAR SPORT CAN TURN BLACK IN A MOMENT: Thankfully 99% of the time the saddest thing a sports writer covers is a player or team coming to terms with a loss. And of course on the other side there will be the joy of the winners. At the Donegal International Rally last weekend, which I was keeping an eye on to see how the Kerry entrants were doing, on Stage 15 there was only the sadness. One of the sports nicest men went off the road and was killed. Manus Kelly was a three timer winner of the event but was known all through the country. Here in Kerry he won the 2018 Rally of the Lakes and I had the pleasure of having a few words with him afterwards. He was one of those sportspersons who made time for everyone – from the top motorsport reporter to the locals. He was a successful businessman, a newly elected FF Councillor but most importantly of all a husband and father of 5. While the whole rallying and wider sporting community is in mourning no-one is going to miss him more than his family. Sport gives up the most wonderful moments and memories but there are dark days. We all can think of those who have gone too soon and in Kerry we have lost our fair share of sportspersons that we mourn. This week its Donegal’s turn to suffer that grief but as always the whole sporting community mourns together. We will keep Manus ‘Mandy’ Kelly and his family and friends in our thoughts as they try and get through this very hard time. KERRY COMPLETE MUNSTER DOUBLE BUT QUESTIONS STILL TO BE ANSWERED: There has been plenty of reviews over the wins for the minors and seniors in last Sundays Munster Finals. The minors continuing winning run is a huge testament to the work being done at underage level in the county. They are now focusing on an All Ireland series and will once again be one of the favourites to lift a trophy that has been domiciled in Kerry for the last number of years. It is a job very well done by the squad and management and a bright summer is ahead of them. The seniors are also champions,

40

TRALEE ADVERTISER

and while there are certainly questions to answer, this is a new team under new management and they have reached the League final and now have a trophy. And if we didn’t concede those two preventable goals (yes Cork had other goal chances but so had we) Kerry would have won by 8 points and everyone would be full of confidence for the Super 8’s. Kerry have lots to work on but are only 2 wins from an All Ireland semi-final and while Dublin look well ahead of everyone else no team is unbeatable. The next two months will be interesting. Looking ahead to the All Ireland and after last Sunday’s games Dublin at 1/2 to win their 5th All Ireland title in a row and as short of 13/8 to make it an unbelievable 6-in-a-row. However if you fell the weight of expectation will cause them to falter or as in our case a late goal will stop their 5-in-a-row you can back this at 13/8. Kerry are third favourites on 7/1 with Donegal now the favourites, outside of the Dubs, on 13/2. Interestingly the bookies still feel that Kerry can still reach the All Ireland. A Dublin v Donegal final is the most likely on 5/2 while Kerry Dublin is on offer at 11/4. BALLYMAC NEWS: The seniors will face Castleisland Desmonds this Saturday June 29th at 7pm in Castlieisland in Round 7 of the Senior League. This is a vital game for the team. The B’s enjoyed another good win in a tight game away to Currow which ended 3-15 to 4-10. They were due to play Cromane this weekend by were given the game. They will next be in action on Juny 5th when they travel to take on Firies. The Minor team will take part in the Division 3 Central Region Minor League in Mid July. The games start on the 18th July and the other teams in the group are: Ardfert, Annascaul/Lispole, and Sneem/Derrynane/Templenoe. The u16’s entertained Na Gaeil in the first round of the County League Division 2 at home and trailed 2-06 to 1-03 at the break. In the end the Tralee side were the stronger and despite good performances from the likes of Adam Kelly, Adam Sheehy, Maurice Friday 28th June 2019

The u14 Boys began their Division One Central Region campaign away to Laune Rangers last Monday. The Killorglin side led early but the boys closed the gap to 2-11 to 2-05 at the break. In a high scoring game it was the home side that were two strong on the day winning 5-17 to 5-07. They still have Austin Stacks, Churchill and Ardfert to play in the competition. Ballymac were well represented on the u14 Castleisland District panel who played West Kerry in the Divisional Board Shield Final held in Austin Stack Park on Thursday evening last.Aidan Horgan. Diarmuid Galvin. Sean Rice,Niall Collins, Luke Horgan, Skye Lynch and Conor Martin all saw action on the night, with John Rice part of the management team. Unfortunately the boys from the West proved too strong on the night and took home the spoils. The Kellogg’s Cul Camp takes place from July 29th to August 2nd and from the 12th to the 16th for players ages 6 to 13. Bookings are now open. There was no winner of the Lotto from the numbers drawn 6,10,16 and 22 and the next jackpot will be e3,400. ST PAT’S NEWS There was no winner of the Lotto from the numbers drawn 6,14,20 and 30 and the next Jackpot will be e6500 with the drawn in Keane’s Bar. There was a full turn-out for the u6’s last Sunday. The u8’s put in a huge effort and Player of Week trophy was won by the Jace, the twin brother of last week’s winner Rylan. They are in Go Games action this week. Many will also be in the Cul Camp from Monday August 5th to 9th. There were lots of good performances in the u10’s with Patryk taking the Player of the Year Award. The u12’s lost to Skellig Rangers but bounced back to defeat Ballyheigue. They will train this week as normal. The u14 Boys opened their Central Region campaign last week against Milltown/Castlemaine with the high scoring encounter ending 6-10 to 5-13. The Junior B’s got their game against Castlegregory and will play an Ghaeltacht in their next game on July 5th at 7.30pm in Gallarus. Following the break for the Munster final the seniors will play away to Miltown/Castleimaine in Round 7 of the County League on Saturday June 29th at 7.30pm. The club was delighted for James Costello and his minor team on their Munster Final win. The Cul camp will take place between August 5th to 9th and bookings are still open. KERINS O’RAHILLYS NEWS: The table topping seniors are back in action in Round 7 of the Senior League when they face a vital game away to An Ghaeltacht who are

level on points on Saturday evening from June 29th with a 7.30pm throw-in. The Senior B team had an impressive win over Dr Crokes and are level in joint 5th with their next opponents Ballyduff. There was a great turn-out for the Academy. The Players of the Week were: U8 Girls- Nicola Corridon, U10 Girls- Aoife O’ Connell and U10 Boys - Davie Jay Flaherty. The new juvenile kits should be at the club by July 5th. The u8 girls welcomed Churchhill, Na Gael, Mitchels and Stacks to Ballyrickard for a very enjoyable evening of football. The club is planning to organise a series of ‘street Leagues’ over the coming weeks. The u12 Boys ended their County League with a good win over Foilmore 5-13 to 3-07. Nick Lacey was the Player of the Match. The u16 Boys played Annascaul / Lisople in their County League opener and took a good win. Next up for the boys is Keel. The Family Fun Day is pencilled in for July 7th along with the Cake Sale. The u12 Girls defeated Dingle 3-06 to 1-06 in Currans and they will train again on Tuesday and Thursdays. The u14’s and u16’s also train ahead of upcoming Championships. The Seniors were due to play Beale/Ballyduff but it was called off late. Annascaul away will be their next game. AUSTIN STACKS NEWS: The club was delighted with the win of the Kerry teams and especially their players on the Minors Luke Chester and Adam Curran. The Division 1 side were very unlucky as they went down to a late goal. The u14’s were beaten by St Brendan’s 1-15 to 2-04 in a game where the boys put in a very good second half effort. Despite Parnells having 18 players the game was played at 12-a-side on a full pitch. The Intermediate side defeated St Pat’s in the South Kerry League which was the perfect lead-in to the marriage of joint manager Mark Ryall. The game ended Parnells 6-19 and St Pats 4-05. ANOTHER BUSY WEEKEND FOR KERRY SOCCER: Despite much of the attention of
