The More you tell the more you sell!!!
LEGAL MATTERS CORNER MIRIAM MC GILLICUDDY ANSWERS YOUR LEGAL QUERIES
Ray is thinking of buying a property if he can get it cheaply from an auction where the lending institutions are selling off repossessed properties. What are the issues arising from these sales. 1. The bank is not the original owner and is not aware of the on the ground issues relating to the property. They often cannot provide the normal replies to queries about the property as they have no knowledge of them and will exclude themselves from having to answer. 2. It is therefore a good idea to do as much investigation yourself in relation to the property locally e.g. talk to the neighbours. 3. As they are not the registered owner they have to prove how they are able to transfer on the property to you whether by court order or some other document of appointment. 4. The standard contract for sale has multiple protections for the Seller and the Purchaser. The bank/lending institution will exclude many of these standard conditions e.g. warranting that the planning is correct, environmental issues, health and safety, the identity of the property on the ground referable to the map. 5. If you purchase one of these properties and the owners have other debts one has to be careful that these don’t accrue to the property before finalising the purchase. 6. They will exclude any requirement to insure the property pending the closing of the sale thereby forcing a purchaser to insure the property from the date of contract. 7. They will exclude all liability in relation to the state of the property so it really is in more ways than most buyer beware. 8. With auction sales they produce all the documentation in advance of the auction which should be checked by a solicitor before you put in any bids as a buyer is bound once they sign a contract at an auction. 9. They are selling the house as is and may not clear out any junk resulting in you having to pay for a skip. 10. It is important to have an engineer do a structural survey, planning and boundary checks. Having said all the above and while looking out for all the pitfalls and being aware of the risks it does provide an avenue for people to access purchasing a property at a reasonable or below market price. Solicitor and engineering advice are essential. Lawquip: A real estate agent had just closed his first deal. To his horror though, he then discovered that the piece of land he'd sold was completely submerged under water. "The customer's going to come back here pretty mad," he said to his boss. "Should I give him his money back?" His boss roared at him, "Money back? What kind of salesman are you? Get out there and sell him a houseboat."

Tralee Says Goodbye with DJ's "Final Curtin" The town of Tralee will be out en-masse in a couple of months to bid farewell to her singing son D.J. Curtin when he returns for two nights on November 1st and 2nd.At least that seems to be the case after tickets were being snapped up this week when it was announced on Facebook that they were being released. The celebrated entertainer has been performing with Brendan Bowyer for 40 years this year in Las Vegas, first emigrating there in 1979 being offered a salary which he couldn't refuse to join The Royal Irish Showband. And royally they were treated, with their image atop taxi cabs on the famed strip, they played 6 nights a week at the Barbary Coast Casino, and "everything was complimentary to us " said DJ in a phone call with Tralee Advertiser this week. "Any shows we wanted to see, dinner, someone made a call and the tickets were left at the box. We got to meet all the top stars." When we asked him why now for announcing these final shows? He answered, "it's Mark's (Mark Leen ) idea really. He came up with it, putting the show back into The Brandon which I'm very happy about because Tralee is my home town. Mark is a fantastic manager, I have been with him now since 2003 and he has had me play all over the country. We did The Showband tour together with Dickie Rock and The Swarbriggs and The Conquerors with him doing his Elvis. I don't know why

he gave that up, he was very good at it and I know he was even offered work here in Las Vegas at one stage by a promoter. When Mark gave up the Elvis in 2013 I haven't been back as much, and then last year he came to my house here in Vegas and we sat down and as I was sipping a beer he suddenly spelled out this vision he had in front of me, The Final Curtin he called it. I wasn't going to go back anymore, the journey is very long, but he persisted. He nearly told me who'd be at the show. He has an incredible ability to know what people want and go after it. He sold me on it, sure he's the best salesman in Ireland. " We spoke to Mark Leen about the concert and he told us: "A few things have become very important to me, first of all D.J. will get the very best, the best sound and lighting, a follow spotlight and brass on stage.Next, the speakers will be placed way over to the corners of the room, I don't want it too loud near the VIP seats "said Mark. "All seats are numbered. Next will be adequate security.Doors at 7 and the shows will start at 8. I will go on until 8:45, then The Conquerors will come on until 9:15 and D.J. Curtin will come out in his white suit until 11. There will be a tribute paid to D.J.'S old band The Kerry Blues, and Manus Leane will dance the crowd till late. As for D.J., he will open up with his hit "Will They Remember Me? and include many of songs from his albums, My Elusive
Friday 12th July 2019
Dreams, Almost Persuaded and of course the highlight will be his unequalled Noreen Bawn. The show will finish at 11 for patrons wanting to leave early, but the disco will run till the early hours for those who wish to stay late, Iknow his audience and I have thought this out "said Mark. "When D.J. told me he wasn't returning again, I knew the people of Tralee wouldnt have that, D.J.'s home is in Las Vegas, his brother Henry "Tombstone" is buried there. He has children and grandchildren there. So this is it. Less than 3% of Tralee will be lucky enough to witness this live. Unfortunately seats are limited at these shows, tables of ten are all numbered, and there will be no overcrowding. Tickets are €25 for a side aisle seat which is like a theatre seat. €35 will get you a table
seat with the white cloth and the you can get up on the dance floor, there will be 2 bars open. €45 euro for the VIP seats which are roped off and are the best views guaranteed. Some of the €35 seats will go out to the front door of the Conference centre. Tickets are only available from one place said Mark, from Me on 086-1935277 or find me on Facebook. There will be no need to advertise this, in the first week over 300 seats are gone already for the Sat night with Friday pushing 250. I have no doubt we will have full houses for D.J. as we are limited to 750 each night. There will be tears as people take photos and say goodbye, including members of his own family...don't miss this opportunity for he shall never be seen on stage here again. "

FITNESS!
HELLO STRONG PEOPLE I hope you are all having a fantastic week! I’ve been loving a good cardio sweat sesh so this week I’m going to talk about the importance of cardio. Now when I say cardio is important I don’t mean jogging excessively on the treadmill for hours, hating every second, punishing yourself for that ‘bad food’ you ate. NO. I’m talking about doing different exercises that make you feel good and improve your cardiovascular health while doing so. It might be swimming, boxing, a gym class, walking the dog, cycling anything that gets you up and moving and feeling good! I used to hate ‘cardio’ because what cardio meant to be was doing the same exercise
EVERY time. Aka jogging for 30 mins. When I started switching up the cardio workouts I was doing, introducing swimming, sprints, interval training, boxing, gym classes etc… I really started enjoying it! I love getting a good sweat on and getting my heart rate up! I also fell in love with the Cardio classes in Titan Fitness, I loved the feeling I got after them. Doing cardio is important to maintaining a healthy heart. Your heart is the centre of your cardiovascular system, and is vitally responsible for giving your body life! Of course, doing excessive intense cardio is not good either. It will put your body in a catabolic state and burn your hard earned muscle. Then if you lose too much muscle it will slow down your metabolism in turn making it harder to burn fat. So if you think introducing a training regime where all you do is intense cardio sessions 5 times a week with no weight training, you’re not going to benefit!
cardio) just try and introduce something new to switch it up a little. Of course you can do things like HIIT training with some weights and get the best of both worlds. All I’m saying is, cardio is not the devil when done correctly. And it will actually help your performance in the weight room.
If you think you have fallen into a rut of either extreme(all weight training or all

Good old fashioned Roast Chicken! Here is a lovely chicken dish using a whole chicken... If youre not good at cutting up and dissecting a full chicken, then ask your own local friendly butcher to do it for you... he'd only be too delighted!
ROAST CHICKEN
WITH CORIANDER-MINT CHUTNEY Serves 4
INGREDIENTS • • • • • • • • • •
1 bunch fresh mint 1 bunch fresh coriander 1 green jalapeño, stemmed 1/4 cup chilled water 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice 1 tablespoon fine sea salt, divided 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin 2 cups plain yogurt 2 teaspoons olive oil 1 (4-pound) whole chicken, separated into 2 drumsticks, 2 thighs, and 2 breasts
METHOD Combine mint, coriander, jalapeño, 1/4 cup water, lime juice, 1 teaspoon salt, and cumin in a blender; process until smooth. Place half of chutney in an airtight container, and chill until ready to serve. Whisk the remaining half of the chutney in a large bowl with the yogurt and oil. Pat the chicken pieces dry with paper towels. Using a knife, score each piece of chicken several times, about 3/4 inch deep. Sprinkle with remaining 2 teaspoons salt. Transfer the chicken to the bowl, and turn to coat evenly with yogurt mixture. Cover with a lid, and chill 2 hours Preheat the oven to 165c with rack 8 inches from heat. Place a wire rack inside a rimmed baking sheet. Place the marinated chicken pieces, skin side up, on the rack, wiping off excess marinade. Roast in preheated oven until internal temperature of breast registers 78c, about 1 hour 10 minutes.Increase heat to grill (do not remove chicken), and grill until skin is crispy, 4 to 5 minutes. Remove chicken from oven, and let rest 10 minutes. Serve with reserved chutney.

TORQUING CARS! MOST POPULAR ELECTRIC CARS AS INTEREST GROWS
The Hyundai Kona is the top-selling battery-powered car in Ireland and around a quarter of car shoppers say they're planning to make their next purchase an electric or a hybrid, a motor industry review has found.Of more than 1,000 prospective buyers surveyed in the April-June quarter, a narrow majority - 52pc - said they still plan to make their next car a diesel, the fuel that powers three out of every four vehicles on Irish roads. But around a quarter said they intend to go green, by buying either a hybrid (17pc) or fully electric vehicle (9pc).This is reflected in strong sales growth for 191-plated electric and hybrid cars, the report found, with electric car sales through June totalling 1,954 units - more than for the whole of 2018. The Hyundai Kona accounted for 37pc of all electric sales, the Nissan Leaf 33pc and a trio of competitors - the Volkswagen e-Golf, the Renault Zoe and BMW i3 - splitting the rest.Toyota dominates Irish sales of new hybrids, producing the four most popular makes led by the Corolla. “With the Government target of 2030 as the year that 100pc of all cars on Irish roads will be electric, the data in this report highlights that consumers already are making the switch,” said Martin Clancy, marketing manager of DoneDeal. ie, which compiled the report published Wednesday.Among manufacturers as a whole, Volkswagen narrowly remains in pole position, accounting for nearly 11pc of all new car registrations in the first half of 2019. Toyota and Hyundai trail close behind. In terms of specific models, the Nissan Qashqai was the top-selling new car in the first half of 2019, followed by the Hyundai Tucson and the Toyota Corolla. With the euro’s strength versus the pound, imports of used UK vehicles are on the rise this year. Growth appears particularly strong at the luxury end of the market, with imports of the Mercedes-Benz E class and C class both more than 30pc higher versus the first half of 2018.The Volkswagen Golf remains the most popular used import overall, while the Volkswagen brand continues to top the second-hand market with nearly 43,000 changing hands in the first six months of the year. LAUGHTER ....THE BEST MEDICINE ! I WENT TO THE LIQUOR STORE ON MY BICYCLE
and bought a bottle of whiskey , put it in the basket on the front and then it occurred to me that if I fall or something happens, the bottle might break, so I drank it all right there and it's a good thing I did... ...'cause I fell 7 times on the way home...
OFFICER STOPS A MAN FOR SPEEDING— NOTICES HE'S NOT WEARING HIS REQUIRED PRESCRIPTION GLASSES.
Officer says, "I have to give you a ticket for not wearing your glasses." Driver says, "But Officer, I have contacts." Officer says, "I don't care who you know, you're still getting a ticket."
A MIDDLE-AGED WOMAN HAD A HEART ATTACK...
...and was taken to the hospital. While on the operating table she had a near death experience. Seeing God she asked, "Is my time up?" God said, "No you have another 43 years, 2 months and 8 days to live." Upon hearing this, the woman decided to stay in the hospital and have a face lift, liposuction and a tummy tuck. She even had someone change her hair color. Since she had so much more time to live, she figured she might as well make the most of it. She was released from the hospital but while crossing the street on her way home, she was killed by a car. Arriving in front of God, she demanded, "I thought you said I had another 43 years?! Why didn't you pull me out of the path of that car?" God replied, "I didn't recognize you."
I NEED EVERYONE TO WISH ME LUCK...
I have a meeting at the bank later and if all goes well, I will be out of debt. I'm so excited, I can barely put on my ski mask.
AS A GUITARIST, I PLAY MANY GIGS.
Recently I was asked by a funeral director to play at a graveside service for a homeless man. He had no family or friends, so the service was to be at a pauper’s cemetery in the back country. As I was not familiar with the backwoods, I got lost. I finally arrived an hour late and saw the funeral guy had evidently gone and the hearse was nowhere in sight. There were only the diggers and crew left and they were eating lunch. I felt badly and apologized to the men for being late. I went to the side of the grave and looked down and the vault lid was already in place. I didn’t know what else to do, so I started to play. The workers put down their lunches and began to gather around. I played out my heart and soul for this man with no family and friends. I played like I’ve never played before for this homeless man. And as I played ‘Amazing Grace,’ the workers began to cry. They cried, I cried, we all cried together. When I finished I packed up my guitar and started for my car. Though my head hung low, my heart was full. As I opened the door to my car, I heard one of the workers say, “I never seen nothin’ like that before and I’ve been putting in septic tanks for twenty years.” Apparently, I was still lost.

FAI NATIONAl P.R.O. OF THE YEAR CONGRATULATIONS TO THE KDL ON FAI COMMUNICATION AWARD NOMINATION: Having been a winner at the inaugural FAI Communications Awards where, as you can see from the top of this page, I was named as FAI PRO of the Year there could be a second Kerry winner this year. In the Best Publication Award the Kerry District League’s Victory Shield programme produced and edited by Sean O’Keeffe and published by Kerry’s Eye is named as one of the two best soccer productions of the year. The first competitive tournament in Kerry saw Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales and the Boys in Green play at Mounthawk Park and Christy Leahy Park. And the Kerry District League took the opportunity to produce a souvenir publication that not alone covered the event but also had some great articles on soccer in Kerry. With the FAI AGM taking place on Saturday July 27th the previous night is the Delegates Dinner and Awards. The Communication Awards are a highlight of the night and Best Publication will come down to the Victory Shield entry and one from Dundalk Sport – Taking Back The Throne. Members of the KDL including Sean and Secretary John O’Reagan will be at the dinner and it could be a historic night for Kerry as Killarney Celtic are also in the Knightsbrook Hotel as they are one of the 6 clubs in line for Club of the Year. This column and all at the Tralee Advertiser wishes both Kerry entrants all the best. The following day the FAI AGM takes place and anyone who has been following the FAI saga will know that this will be no ordinary AGM so it will be an interesting weekend in Meath. LOTS OF WATER BUT NOT TO DRINK: Firstly it is great to hear that all the Kerry camogie players are making a full recovery from the stomach problems they experienced when drinking water at a recent game. I am not going to comment on this game or club in particular as there is a HSE investigation taking place. And to be fair no one involved in sport would wish something like this on any club who were doing

everything right when giving their facilities for the inter county camogie game against Limerick. But what this should do is make all clubs take stock of where they allow coaches to fill water bottles from and also the hygiene around those water bottles. How many times do we pick up the rack ahead of a game and see that they were not emptied after the last game. These need to emptied and washed out after every game. Also players should take good care of their own water bottles if they are using reusable ones – which they should. PRACTICE ON THE HILL FOR TRALEE MANOR WEST: This September the Tralee Manor West club will be the centre of attention when they host the National Hill Climb championships. The last two rounds of the Hill Climb League are being used as dry runs for these Championships. Last weekend they reduced the length of the hill climb to the championship distance of 1.3km. And they also tested out their timing mechanisms. Conor Kissane clocked the fastest time of 4.06 to take the win and continue to lead the League. The three riders behind him finished in the same order as their League position with Jerry McCarthy second, John James Griffin third and Joe Roche 4th. Almha Russell Kissane from the Artane Cycling Team was the fastest lady and Junior on the night. This Thursday night the action returns to the Time Trial League with the 20km course from Ballycarty Cross to Castleisand and back being used. In other categories in the League the M40/50and 60 are being led by Mike O’Shea, Tom Gentleman and Tom Daly respectively. The newly introduced Non Aero category is being led by Barry Fitzgerald. Staying with cycling and a number of Kerry riders are taking part in this week’s 6 Day Eurocylces/ Eurobaby Junior Tour that is underway in Clare since Tuesday. IRISH U18 GIRLS ENJOY HOOPS OF SUCCESS: The Irish u18 Women’s team made a great start to their European Championships Division 2 in Skopje, Macedonia. With Siofra O’Shea in the squad and Tommy O’Connor coaching they beat Austria 60-39 in their Friday 12th July 2019
opener and then beat the hosts by the same score line. On Sunday night the Irish girls saw off Slovakia 70-58 to sit joint top of Group C. The Colaiste na Sceilige and St Mary’s BC player was on the mark in all the games. On Tuesday they faced Greece in a top of the table clash between the two unbeaten sides but it was the Greeks that took the win. However the Irish team still has plenty to play for with the competition going on until July 14th. KERRY 13’S AND 15’S LOI SIDES WELCOME WATERFORD: The second phase of the Under 13 and U15 League of Ireland continues at the weekend with Waterford the visitors to Mounthawk Park on Sunday for a double header. The 13’s have made a great start to their second phase and are on 4 points from their two games. Following a great comeback to draw 3-3 away to Cabinteely they followed up with a very impressive 5-1 home win over Wexford. After good Kerry pressure Finn Barrett and JJ Olitijan put the home side 2-0 up before the break. Into the second half Kerry added goals from Andy Kerins, Naill Tigue O’Brien and Stephen Gannon (pen) while the visitors got a late consolation. The 15’s were unlucky to go down 2-0 away to Cork City. The home side scored in both halves and while Kerry had chances it was the home side that were the more clinical. Kerry will take a lot from this game as Cork had beaten Shamrock Rovers, probably the standard bearers, the previous week. With the local season almost over, the u17 final on Monday night is one of the last games, this is a great time to come along and see our young stars tackle some of the best in the country. Both games kick off at 2pm. The Kerry 17’s, who were a very impressive 5-1 winners away to Cobh Ramblers in the Mark Farran Cup Round 3 last weekend, and the 19’s who will be hoping that their new players who they signed in the transfer window will strengthen the squad, are both away to Bray Wanderers also on Sunday. PARK NOW RECRUITING GIRLS FOR THEIR ACADEMY: With women’s football on a high those young girls in Tralee aged between 5 and 11 can now join the St Brendan’s Park Academy. The girls train at Christy Leahy Park every Saturday from 11.15am and coach Preston McEvoy and the volunteers at the club will be delighted to welcome new members. NORTH KERRY GIRL TO LIFT FOR IRELAND AT THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS: Kerry will be represented at the World Powerlifting Championships in Canada in October. Rachel O’Connor came first in her 90kg weight category in the qualifier earlier in the year and continued that form during the year. She is ranked in the top 5 in both the squat and dead lift and will head to Alberta with the Irish team.
AT THE TRACK: This Friday night at the Kingdom Greyhound Stadium it is the annual benefit night for the Kerry University Hospital with a top class card, lots of family entertainment, a best dressed lady competition and music before and after racing. On Saturday night it’s the final of the Tilemaster Kingdom Derby with a top class supporting card. On Sunday evening it is the SIS eight race program starting at 6.35pm. The track is currently taking entries for the Boylesports Derby Trial stake confined AO 550 yards which starts on Friday July 19th. MOTORSPORT IRELAND'S WEEKEND ROUND UP Clare driver Rob Dwane continued his unbeaten run towards this year’s Pack & Pallet National Hillclimb and Sprint Championship by making it seven wins out of seven in the Carlow event at Fighting Cocks, near Nurney. After four timed runs, his OMS was almost seven seconds clear of runner-up James Bradley’s Escort, with the Suzuki Swift of Dara Fay finishing third overall. Anthony Culleton’s Buggy was the overall winner of the Skibbereen Loose Surface Autocross at Derryleigh, with Michael O’Donoghue and Christopher Snow Junior taking the two main saloon classes. Locally: Killarney co-driver and Waterford’s Craig Breen are in Estonia this week as they look to get some hours in their Hyundai i20 ahead of their return to the World Rally Championship at Rally Finland in August. This is an opportunity that the duo worked hard to secure and hopefully will lead to a full contract for next season. The next two Irish rallies are the Sligo Stages on July 14th and the Imokilly Mini-Stages Rally on July 21st where a number of Kerry crews should be taking part. HOW GOOD WILL THE SUPER 8’S BE FOR KERRY? While everyone will agree that Dublin will qualify from the Super 8’s Group phase to the All Ireland semifinal the other 3 places cannot be predicted. In Dublin’s group the second team will either be Cork or Tyrone with their clash set to be the decisive game in that Group. And in Kerry’s group it is a brave man that says he can predict the way the 4 teams – Kerry, Mayo, Donegal and Meath – will finish. The two games this weekend will be huge and from a Kerry point of view a defeat will really put them on the back foot. Mayo won’t fear coming to Killarney to face Kerry especially following the way they won the League final. And they will be cheered on by a huge travelling support. From the home sides point of view Kerry got past Cork who have since proved that they are playing well. And looking at the game the last day Kerry would have beaten that Galway side so how good are

TALKING SPORT WITH THE TRALEE ADVERTISER Mayo? The fact that it is not pure Championship knock-out football won’t take away from the intensity and Kerry defensively will have to be at their best – and let’s be honest be cinical when required and not afraid to take part in the ‘dark arts of defending’!. Rest assured Mayo will do all this. So it should make for a cracker in the Fitzgerald Stadium on Sunday and with a 4pm throw-in the fans will have lots of time to enjoy the build-up to the big game. Many say Mayo will win but I think it will be Kerry led by the forwards to win by 2 points. AMBER FLAG FOR RAHILLYS: There were great celebrations at the Kerins O’Rahillys Club at the weekend when the Amber Flag was flown for the first time. A family fun day took place to celebrate the awarding of the flag as a reward for the work the club is doing promoting mental health and wellbeing in its children. Earlier in the year they started at Mental Health and Fitness Programme for members. PARNELLS NEWS: The clubs Summer Camp will take place from Monday next July 15th to the 18th. Bookings are still being taken with limited numbers left for players aged 6 to 14. Playing equipment is available to borrow if needed and parents are reminded to pack a lunch for the kids. Check out the club’s social media for booking details. Parnells were due to be in Intermediate Championship this week when they face Abbeydorney and we will have the result next week. The club was delighted to take part in the Club camogie Development Blitz Munster 7’s in Limerick. The players on the under 17 and over 17 panels will have two more Blitzs with Round 2 taking place in Mallow this Saturday July 13th and the bus will depart at 8am. August 2nd is a day the players are also looking forward to as they will be travelling to Clare at the invitation of the Kilkee Bealatha Camogie Club. The teams will leave for the Tarbert Ferry around 5pm on the Bank Holiday Friday. The under 10 boys enjoyed wins over Ballyduff and St Brendan’s but went down by a point in their last game against Kilmoyley. The players are all progressing very well and enjoying their hurling. The County Camogie u16 and Minor Leagues will see teams competing for these inaugural titles in late August and September. There are also plans for similar competitions in the Spring of 2020 with the 2019 memberships being still valid. The club also thanks O’Connells Pharmacy for sponsoring a First Aid kit for theu8’s. AUSTIN STACKS JUVENILE NEWS: The club’s August Football Camp will take place in Connolly Park from August 6th to 10th and bookings are now being taken. Those that took part in the Kellogs Cul Camp really enjoyed their time this week and the club thanks all
those involved in making it such a big success. The u6’s will train on Sunday only this week while the u7’s are looking forward to their final Blitz this Monday evening. The u8’s train on Sunday morning while the u9’s next Blitz is on Monday night. The u10 players are looking forward to their annual trip to the St Finbarr’s Club annual Blitz. The u12’s are beginning their preparations for the Central League as they look to follow on from their hugely successful County Leagues. The club will enter two teams and some of the players will also be in the Lee Strand u13 Tournament on September 7th and 8th. They will be busy for the following month in various competitions. The u14’s had a very good time at Feile in Galway narrowly losing out to London in the end. But the weekend will live long in the memory and the club wishes to thank all those who made the Feile so enjoyable. They played St Pat’s this week in the Central League Division 4 which also saw the hosts putting on a BBQ as part of their Awards night. The u16’s are in the midst of their County Leagues with two teams in action. A number of the squad were also on duty with the Kerry team that defeated Cork, Limerick and Waterford. ST PAT’S NEWS: There was no winner of the Lotto from the numbers drawn 7,8, 19 and 29 and the next jackpot will be e6,700 and the draw will be this Sunday in Skelper Quane’s Bar. Juvenile Academy: There was a great turn-out for the u6’s and in a tough choice Ronan Keane was named Player of the Week. The u8 coaches were delighted with the progress of their players and a number stepped up to play with the u10’s against Milltown/ Castleimaine. In the u10’s they played 3 games against the visitors. This Sunday will be the last u10 session as they take their summer break and will resume after the Easter Camp in August. Bookings for the Summer Camp are now open which takes place between the 5th and the 9th. The club is very proud of the u14 girls who won the Non County Player League Division 5B title last Sunday. In the final in the Centre of Excellence they defeated Castlegregory in a very exciting game. Donal Rahilly the Kerry LGFA secretary presented the cup to the delighted joint captains Lisa Rowan and Caoimhe Dairo on behalf of the whole squad. This is the year in a row that this squad had brought silverware to the club. The u14 boys went down to Austin Stacks B in Round 3 of the Central League. They were due to play Ballymac B in the last round of this competition in mid-week. The u16 boys were in action away to Drmin/ Waterville in Round 2 of their County League. The B team made the trip to An Ghaeltacht in Group 3 of the Junior Football League but were beaten by the home side. The next game for the Senior team in this Saturday when the play table toppers Gneeveguilla at 7.30pm in

the County League. Fiona Costello is delighted to expand her physiotherapy practice in Fairies Cross with the addition of experienced Chartered Physiotherapist Mark Thompson. Mark has significant sports experience as well as exercise rehabilitation and Pilates. They are offering reduced rates for club members. BALLYMAC NEWS: In Round 6 of the Senior County League the seniors took on Beaufort in a tied game that was tied at the break 1-7 each. Ballymac were reduced to 14 players in the second half but fought to the end going down by the narrowest margin 1-17 to 2-13. They are at home to Brosna this Saturday at 7.30pm in a vital game in Round 8 of the County League. The Junior game against Firies did not go ahead and they will play Listry at home on the 19th in their County League. The Minor team will take part in Division 3 of the Central Region Minor League starting on July 18th. The team are in the Group with Ardfert, Annascaul /Listry and Sneem/Derrynane/Templenoe. In the underage section the u12’s had a very enjoyable time at the Jack Rahilly Memorial Blitz. Following a series of games they ended up winning the Plate with captain Eoin Moriarty accepting the trophy and all the team members received their medals from members of the O’Rahilly Family. The club thanks Scartaglin for their hospitality on the day. The u14 Blue team went down to Ardfert in the Central Region while the Blue side also lost out narrowly to Stacks. The club was delighted to have four players on the Kerry Development Squads who were away in Limerick and Meath. In the Academy U6 boys and girls had a good session with Caoimhe Leen and Daniel Maher being named as the Players of the Week. The u8 boys had a great evening in Scartaglin at the Go Games. The u10’s are back training on Wednesday July 17th. There were great celebrations when the u14 Girls brought glory to the club and the parish by winning the Munster Community Games Final which was played in Na Gaeil. They beat Doora /Barefield of Clare in the semi-final 1-16 to 4-04. This set up a decider against Skibbereen who had a huge win in their semi-final. This game was a real end to end encounter with a great atmosphere being generated especially by the home supporters. In the end the Ballymac girls took the win and the place in the National Finals in August in UL on a 3-10 to 4-04 score line. Captains Roisin Rahilly and Ciara Palmer lifted the trophy to the delight of all including the very proud mentors John Palmer, Anthony Griffin and Donal Rahilly. The Ballymac Cup Camps take place in August and all those hoping to take part should book as soon as possible. Ladies: In the Senior Ladies Division 4 of the County League the ladies Friday 12th July 2019
won 4-11 to Abbeydorney’s 5-05. In the Girls sections the u10 and u12 girls train as normal. In the Lotto in Ballygarry House there was no winner from the numbers drawn 4,10,14 and 18. ON THE GREEN’S – PITCH AND PUTT Kerry players to the fore at National Strokeplay Championships: Kerry players will be looking to see if they can bring back silverware from the National Gents Strokeplay Championships in Ryston in Kildare. They will be led by Damien Fleming with the Deerpark who is on a great run of form which started at this tournament last season in Dublin. A sign of the strength of the game is Kerry is the size of the contingent that will tee it up at the weekend. Tralee will be represented in the Senior section by Jason O’Regan, Jason Cregan and Alan Hobbert with Fleming’s club mate John McGrath and Castleisland trio Aidan O’Connor, James Dignan and Gavin Carroll. Seven of the 20 players will play in the Intermediate section – Deerpark Killarney’s Adam Kelly, Ger Casey, Lorcan Martin, James Fleming and Kieran Fitzpatrick along with Listowel’s Richard Bunyan and Castleisland’s Timmy Looney. In the Juniors are Killarney Deerparks Noel Moynihan and Darragh O’Callaghan, Listowel’s John Carey and Ger Guerin and Gleneagles’s Sean O’Brien. The County Board wishes all 20 the best of luck for the Championships. In the Munster u16 Matchplay finals in Cork Listowel’s Bobby McCarron won the Plate 26 years after his father Kevin won a Munster Senior Gents Strokeplay trophy.
