Established 1988
WHATS DIFFERENT ABOUT BROOKFIELD?
Elisha "This year , we celebrate working with students for 31 years , since 1988 " says Principal Elisha Dowling . "I like to emphasise the word 'with' as it conveys the approach we take with all students who come here ...We have created an atmosphere in the College where students are expected and encouraged to perform to the best of their ability. The most important part of this equation (yes , Elisha also teaches Maths!) has to be our teachers .At present we have 15 teachers in the school , all highly qualified teachers who are motivated and enthusiastic about teaching ...They just love teaching ...and that does come out in the students! And because there is rarely any changeover of teachers , that gives our students consistency ..very important in the exam years . We dont have uniforms and teachers are known on a first name basis... this all fosters maturity amongst the students. All our students are given regular assessments and each is assigned a tutor who meets with them several times during the year , discussing progress and giving both advice and guidance.Career guidance also gets priority during the Senior Cycle as we find it answers a lot of questions that students may have and gives them clarification. Its very satisfying to hear, maybe even a few years after they've gone that former students have found their time with us to be hugely positive... thats enough for me "
Elisha

This puts Brookfield ahead of other schools in large urban areas such as Dublin , Cork , Galway and Limerick . According to Principal Elisha Dowling " We have an extremely high standard set here and in my experience when you combine excellent teachers who are highly motivated with an atmosphere that demands the greatest effort from the students , this can have a significant positive effect on an individuals results !"
JUST SOME OF OUR REVIEWS ........................................... We were enormously impressed not only by the quality of the teaching but also by the very obvious commitment you have to fulfil each students potential. (Parents review)
Very structured way of teaching and makes sure everyone gets what they're capable of achieving.
Would not be where I am today if it were not for him. He made us all believe in ourselves
There is so much more to Brookfield than studying!
It was nice to be treated like an adult for a change
Great Teacher...Very approachable which is a big plus! Went from a H5 average to getting a H3

EVERYTHING’S COMING UP ROSES!
Beauty
HELLO BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE! I hope you’re all having an amazing week.
As we all know, The Rose of Tralee starts this week - SO EXCITING! But with that comes a lot of socializing, staying out late, and maybe the one too many beverages. This week I’ll be talking about a few of my top tips to stay feeling your best throughout the week.
EXFOLIATE & MOISTURISE:
Unfortunately, not all of us are blessed with a sun kissed glow all year. (And even if we are, there’s been no sun recently) A lot of us will be making great use out of the fake tan. So remember to exfoliate your whole body before application and moisturise after you’ve done your tan to prolong it.
PREP & PRIME:
Your face is a canvas; you need it to be in top condition to paint on it. Prep your face with a good cleanser & moisturise it to combat dryness. Using a good primer will ensure your makeup goes on and stays on well. But don’t forget to take off your makeup after the night out. Even keep a pack of cotton pads and micellar water handy beside your bed so if you’re feeling too lazy or tired to wash your face etc, at least you can take the makeup off.
CONCEAL DON’T FEEL:
Get yourself a good concealer to conceal any dark circles or bags under the eyes. You never know, one or two drinks could turn into a wild party and the concealer will save you from looking like a wreck at work at 9am!
SETTING SPRAY:
My secret weapon to EVERY makeup look. Setting spray will give your makeup a glowy skin like finish and will help keep that makeup on all night long! (I recommend the Urban Decay All Nighter one, you can get it in Debenhams)
If all else fails, hire a makeup artist. I still have a few slots available so you can always message me on Instagram @ rebeccashortt / @rebeccashorttmakeup or Facebook ‘Rebecca Shortt Makeup’
STAY HYDRATED:
DRINK WATER. It makes all the difference especially if your skin is looking tired. Also, a hangover is essentially dehydration sooooo… drink up! (The water)

FITNESS!
EVERYTHING’S COMING UP ROSES!
HELLO MY STRONG STRONG FRIENDS
I hope you’re all having a great week!
This week is The Rose of Tralee so I thought I would talk about how to get back on track after a holiday/wedding/festival/any other event. Accountability – Start making yourself aware of all your fitness and dietary habits by tracking them. Get back into tracking with MyFitness Pal which is sobering as well as addictive! Also research has proven again and again that people who track their eating are the biggest losers, literally. Asses The Damage - That’s right…get. on. the. scale/take your measurements, you need to know what you are dealing with. (That is if you were aware of your weight before) On the other hand, you might find that you didn’t do as much damage as you think. You probably will not see a dramatic weight gain after only one week. Either way, you need to be realistic about what your body needs to do now. So just weigh yourself and get it over with. I weigh myself everyday, no matter what I did the day before and it seems to be working a treat! LET IT GO - If you had a lazy holiday or a great celebration or a reunion with friends, you should not feel bad about it. You should feel really good about what you have done for yourself by putting your needs first for a change. Any guilt or regret you are feeling should be pushed out the window now. You are actually lucky because you are most likely coming back with a fresh attitude
Rebecca
and a renewed sense of your goals. So literally let it go…I’m serious…bend down and scoop your arms up really big, walk over to a window, and throw all that guilt away. What’s done is done. Organize your Morning – Prepare everything the night before. Lay out your workout gear and pack your gym bag. Plan your meals and if possible, have them prepped and waiting for you. Set Goals – Pick a big event in your near future, a reunion or a birthday and set a goal. Or pick a road race and start training for it.
You can find me on Facebook ‘Bexblah Call Chris or Colette Tel: Instagram ‘Bexblah’.
Friday Makeup’ 23rd August 2019or
Stay Psyched – If you find yourself losing interest in staying on track, reward yourself with a massage or a new pair of running shoes. New lycra has magical powers that wear off after 3 washes. Aim for Daily Exercise – Of course there will be days where you miss it but if you aim for it every day and put it on your calendar you will at least end up with a solid 4 or 5 days of movement.

Bella Italia
"Move to Italy. I mean it: they know about living in debt; they don't care. I stayed out there for five months while I was making a film called 'Order Of Death,' and they've really got it sussed. Nice cars. Sharp suits. Great food. Stroll into work at 10. Lunch from 12 till three. Leave work at five. That's living!" – John Lydon, English lead singer of The Sex Pistols.(aka Johnny Rotten) Now heres an old Italian classic that's hard to beat, and shellfish at it's best this time of year especially here in beautiful Kerry .Pair this delicious shellfish with tomatoes in season... and thats simply heaven!
LANGOUSTINES ALLA BUSARA
Serves 4
The real magic of the dish is the superflavorful tomato sauce in which they simmer. Be sure to have plenty of crusty bread on hand to soak up the sauce 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil, plus more for drizzling
INGREDIENTS • 1 garlic clove • 3 tablespoons plain dry breadcrumbs • 8 medium langoustines (about 2 pounds), rinsed and patted dry • 1/4 cup dry white wine • One can whole peeled tomatoes, drained and coarsely chopped, 1/4 cup of juices reserved • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper • Sea salt • Black pepper • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley • Lemon wedges and crusty bread, for serving METHOD In a large, deep pan, heat the 3 tablespoons of olive oil. Add the garlic and cook over moderate heat, stirring frequently, until just beginning to brown, about 3 minutes. Stir in the breadcrumbs and cook until beginning to brown, about 1 minute Add the langoustines to the pan in a single layer. Pour the wine over them and cook until reduced by half, about 1 minute. Add the tomatoes and their juices, crushed red pepper and a generous pinch each of salt and black pepper. Cover and simmer over moderately low heat, stirring occasionally, until the tail meat is opaque, 16 to 18 minutes. Discard the garlic clove. Stir in the parsley and drizzle with a little more olive oil. Serve the langoustines with lemon wedges and crusty bread.

EVERYTHING’S COMING UP ROSES!
IT’S ONLY A JOKE A MAN IS DINING IN A FANCY RESTAURANT
A man is dining in a fancy restaurant and there’s a gorgeous redhead sitting at the next table. He’s been checking her out since he sat down, but lacks the nerve to talk with her. Suddenly she sneezes, and her glass eye comes flying out of its socket toward the man. He reflexively reaches out, grabs it out of the air, and hands it back. “Oh my, I am so sorry,” the woman says as she pops her eye back in place. “Let me buy your dinner to make it up to you,” she says. They enjoy a wonderful dinner together, and afterwards they go to the theatre followed by drinks. They talk, they laugh, she shares her deepest dreams and he shares his. She listens. After paying for everything, she asks him if he would like to come to her place for a nightcap and stay for breakfast. They had a wonderful time. The next morning, she cooks a gourmet meal with all the trimmings. The guy is amazed. Everything had been SO incredible! “You know,” he said, “you are the perfect woman, are you this nice to every guy you meet?” “No,” she replies. . . “You just happened to catch my eye.”
A MAN ASKS ANOTHER “DO YOU HAVE A CAR?”.
“Sorta”, he replies. “What do you mean?”, asks the man. “Well, it’s my wife’s car when she goes grocery shopping, it’s my son’s car when he goes to his girlfriend’s, it’s my daughter’s car when she goes out at night and it’s mine when it’s out of petrol !”.
THERE’S A NEW MACHINE AT MY GYM. USED IT FOR AN HOUR AND FELT SICK.

COLONEL SANDERS CALLS UP THE POPE.
“Your holiness”, he says. “My business is losing money and I need help. I’ll donate 10 million dollars to the Vatican if you change the Lord’s prayer from ‘Give us this day our daily bread’ to ‘Give us this day our daily chicken’”. “I’m sorry, Mr. Sanders” the pope replies. “I cannot change the word of God. I wish you good luck with your business.” A month later, Colonel Sanders calls back, even more desperate. “50 million dollars to the Vatican”, he says, “if you change the Lord’s prayer from ‘Give us this day our daily bread’ to ‘Give us this day our daily chicken’”. “I’m sorry Mr. Sanders. The word of God is sacred and can’t be changed”, the pope replies. “You’ll have to try something else.” A month later, Colonel Sanders calls back in pure desperation. “Please, your holiness. My sales are in the hole. I’ll donate 100 million dollars to the Vatican if you change the Lord’s prayer from ‘Give us this day our daily bread’ to ‘Give us this day our daily chicken’”. The pope sighs and says, “OK, let me get back to you.” He then calls up his bishops and says, “Gentlemen, I have good news and bad news. The good news is, KFC will be donating 100 million dollars to the Vatican.” The bishops erupt in cheers. After quieting down, one asks, “and the bad news?” The pope replies solemnly, “we will be losing the Wonder Bread account”.

Donegal Boston won the Boston SFC final against Aidan McAnespies in dramatic circumstances on Sunday. Down by seven points late in the game, Donegal Boston scored three goals to win the match. Donegal led by a point at the break but Aidan McAnespies took control of the game in the second half, building that substantial lead. The Donegal comeback was started and finished by Kerryman Barry John Keane. Two goals by the Kerins O'Rahilly man were bridged by a penalty from Laoisman Gary Walsh. Keane's winning strike was one of the last kicks of the game as Donegal won 3-15 to 2-17.The match was one featuring several inter-county players past and present. Along with Walsh and Keane (who was earlier this season dropped from the Kerry panel after eight years service), the Donegal forward line featured Tyrone's Mark Bradley and Roscommon's Ciaran Murtagh. They also had former Aussie Rules player and Westmeath man Ray Connellan in midfield beside St Vincent's club man Shane Carthy (Article by PJ Browne, Balls.ie)

T Q U I N G CCOMING A R SUP ! ROSES! 46 O R EVERYTHING’S TRANSPORT MINISTER SHANE ROSS'S NEW CLAMPDOWN ON SPEEDING
Justice Minister Charlie Flanagan is opposing new anti-speeding laws proposed by Transport Minister Shane Ross that would see motorists face graduated penalties depending on how fast they are driving over the limit.Mr Flanagan told the Irish Independent he is not in favour of mandatory sanctions because of potential for "unintended consequences". He also revealed that he opposes plans to fine motorists caught without their driving licence. The Justice Minister's comments are the first public criticism of his Cabinet colleague's proposals, which were privately met with strong opposition from Fine Gael ministers when they were first mooted late last year. However, it now appears that Mr Ross's plans are set to be scuppered in the face of strong opposition in Fine Gael, including from Mr Flanagan, who has responsibility for An Garda Síochána who would have to enforce any new laws. Mr Flanagan said: "There is an element of judicial discretion as far as speeding is concerned. Each and every case is looked at on its own merits - the circumstances of the driving and the speed.Under Mr Ross's proposed new rules, motorists driving faster than 10kmh above the speed limit would get an €80 fine and between three and five penalty points. Motorists driving 20kmh over the speed limit would be given a €150 fine and between four and six points. Motorists driving between 20kmh and 30kmh over the speed limit would receive a €200 fine and up to seven penalty points.Anyone driving in excess of 30kmh above the speed limits will be charged with dangerous driving.Mr Ross's plans would also see the removal of the practice of giving gardaí discretion to allow motorists caught speeding and without their drivers' licence to present it at a Garda station by a set period of time. But Mr Flanagan said: "I think Garda discretion serves an important purpose in the context of our road traffic regime."A spokesman for Mr Ross said: "The policy is to bring in graduated speeding fines." (Irish Independent)
LEARNER DRIVERS HIT BY RISE OF AUTOMATICS
The days of the manual gear change are slipping into reverse as we buy more electric and hybrid cars. There could be a twist to the tale of reeling in the gears for thousands of younger drivers. More people are buying automatic cars. The number has risen to 34,698 this year, an increase of 19pc on 2018, while manuals are down 16pc to 72,249. The switch is quickening up partly because the Government is urging motorists to buy electric and hybrid vehicles which have 'automatic' transmissions. However, the potential downside is more young drivers passing their driving test in an automatic will not be given a licence to drive a car with a manual gearbox. Effectively, those taking their test in a hybrid, electric or automatic are licence-barred from driving with a standard transmission. The rule limiting use of such cars has always applied. But it is only being discovered by many now that such higher numbers are buying hybrids and electric as well as traditional automatics. (Indo motoring )
TOYOTA FACEITDOWN APP CLOCKS UP MILLIONS OF KILOMETRES OF PHONE FREE DRIVING
An incentive to avoid using the mobile phone while at the wheel has clocked up 22 million kilometres of call-free driving. The Toyota Ireland ‘FaceItDown’ app passed the 22 million milestone recently. And as a way of broadening its appeal, participant drivers will now get discounts on parking at Q-Park locations around the country. The Toyota campaign is in association with the Road Safety Authority (RSA). It encourages drivers to put their phones face down while driving. The app translates face-down time into points for rewards – more than 36,000 of which have been redeemed by drivers. Now the carmaker is to reward new and current users by offering double points for all journeys logged between August 13 and August 20.Over the past two years, 49,460 Irish motorists have installed the app on their phoneWhile Q-Park is the latest incentive, others include a free hot drink at Circle K stores or €50 off FBD car insuranceToyota Ireland says: “Research shows that when using a hand-held mobile phone while driving, you’re four times more likely to crash than someone who is not.”The latest news comes as the powerful Transport Committee group of MPs in the UK wants mobile phone use at the wheel to be banned. In other words: no phone conversation of any sort. They say the “evidence shows that using a hands-free device creates the same risks of crashing (as a hand-held device)”.They want all phone use while driving, regardless of sending or receiving data, to be stopped. EVERYTHING’S COMING UP ROSES!
TALKING SPORT WITH THE TRALEE 48 EVERYTHING’S COMINGADVERTISER UP ROSES!
with “The Voice” Pat Harnett
FAI NATIONAl P.R.O. OF THE YEAR
SPORTING SATURDAY AT THE ROSE OF TRALEE: While many of those involved in the Rose of Tralee will be concentrating on getting ready for the Parade, under 13 boys and girls from around the country will be in town for two major tournaments. ROSE OF TRALEE FOOTBALL BLITZ: The Annual Rose of Tralee u13 Football Blitz has been running for a number of years and this Saturday, August 24th, will be see games at both Na Gaeil and Healy Park. This tournament is always much anticipated by the players from the town and those teams that travel to the event and this year is no different. The Tralee teams will go up against last year’s winners Aghabulogie are back along fellow Cork side Douglas. There are also two teams coming from Limerick – Monaleen and Fr Casey’s. Competition starts at 10.30am in both venues with the Cup and Shield Finals due to be played in Healy Park around 2.45pm. The Festivals organisers hope that a Rose of two will attend for photos. INAUGURAL ROSE BOWL SOCCER TOURNAMENT: While the boys have the tournament that we talked about above there was nothing for the girls and with girls soccer the fastest growing sport in the county this needed to be addressed. And so a collaboration between the Kerry Schoolboys Girls League and the Rose of Tralee Festival committee, led on this initiative by PR guru John Drummey, the inaugural Rose Bowl will take place also on Saturday August 24th kicking off at 11am. The tournament, sponsored by Tralee Trophy World, will see ten u13 girl’s teams from eight Leagues converge on Mounthawk Park and Tralee Dynamos for the tournament. Joining two Kerry teams are two from the Met Girls League in Dublin and one from West Cork, Cork, South Tipperary, Galway, Clare and Limerick Desmond. Like the boys tournament the Rose committee are sending two Roses to Mounthawk Park at the start of play which should lead to lots of photos and selfies by the girls and parents!! League Logistics Officer Ken Friday 23rd August 2019
Robinson said that the KSBGL were delighted to be involved in this now tournament. “The League was delighted to get involved with one of the biggest festivals in the country and host an u13 Girls tournament. We have great facilities in the Tralee with the two pitches at Mounthawk Park and with Tralee Dynamos and St Brendan’s Park adjacent we hope this tournament can grow over the coming years. It would be great to see some of the Rose Centre’s from abroad sending teams to compete against Leagues from the Irish Rose Centre areas.” TOWN BOARD FINAL: If the two underage tournaments are not enough sport for you on Saturday then that evening the Lee Strand Town Board Senior Championship Final takes place. While not the most prestigious title in football both Austin Stacks and John Mitchell’s will be looking for the bragging rights in the final which throws in at 6.30pm. SO WHO WOULD BE A REFEREE? Last week we had all the controversy regarding the appointment of David Gough to referee the Dublin versus Kerry All Ireland final. While he is from Meath he works in Dublin and some people – in fairness mostly on social media – got very hot under the collar regarding his appointment. While he did make a mistake in the 2016 decider where Kerry faced the same opponents he had the strength to come out and admit it. Thankfully Peter Keane and the County Board out an end to this issue and said they had no issues with the referee for Sunday week. But he can’t be oblivious to all this publicity and the occasions is a big enough one without this. However most officials will refrain from reading the press or social media in the run up to the final and hopefully whoever wins we will not be taking about the referee on Sunday week. In the hurling final James Owens had a very good game and was faced with a huge decision regarding the sending off of Richie Hogan. To his credit he took his time and also looked to see how Cathal Barrett was and spoke to his linesman before he made the right decision. Hogan caught his opponent under the chin and any contact with the head is a red card. No ref wants to issue a red card in an All Ireland final and it’s a rare occurrence but if it’s the right decision then that has
to be criteria for the ref to make his decision in any game. It is not the job of the referee or his officials to make sure the game is a good one or worry what will happen if one side is a player short. So on this occasion James Owens did exactly what he had to. Seocnd Referee: The debate seems to be switching in favour of having a second referee for big hurling games. That sport is played at a pace where it is impossible for one ref to keep up. Players are driving the ball up to 90 yards. Other sports like Aussie Rules have more than one referee while basketball, depending in the level, has 2 or 3 officials on the court. It would take a bit of getting used to be the referees that they are responsible for just their half of the field but they should be able to get to grips with this fairly quickly. Of course the question will be asked as to at what level the second referee comes in – should there be two for the Senior County Championship final? Technology: We are now getting into an era where technology will have a bigger impact on games to help the referees get the calls right. Anyone watching the Premiership will have seen the impact of VAR. And we also saw Hawkeye give a point in the All Ireland. This would not have been given except for the technology and while it made no difference last Sunday if the game was tight it could have made a big difference. Yes technology can stop the flow of the game and make the game much more clinical – the goal for Man City was ruled out because the ball brushed off their players arm in flight, He didn’t move his hands in any way but the new rule is the rule now. We will never get to a game situation where every call is 100% correct – even with VAR there is human input and with human input will come some mistakes. But we must use VAR and Hawkeye when its available to assist the officials. Some people say this means that games are not always played on a level playing field as it’s impossible to have technology at all grounds. But they are available at the highest level and must be used. RESPECT THE REFEREE: We have some top class referees in this country in all sports. Michelle O’Neill has proved once again that if an official is good enough they can get to the highest level of their sport. But for the vast majority of players it will be local referees and officials that will be doing their games. We must respect them – no official ever goes out to make a mistake or make a wrong call. Player’s, management and supporters will be frustrated on some occasions but they cannot let this lead to abusing the officials. And yes at times it does take selfcontrol but we must all practice this. Remember every official is someone’s son or daughter, partner, father or mother etc. Just think if they were a member of your family and how you would like them to be treated, even if they do make a

mistake. By respecting our referees and officials we will encourage more people to get involved in officiating. And one thing is for sure without officials we won’t have games at any level. KERRY IN ALL IRELAND ACTION – THIS SUNDAY! While much thought is on September 1st for the Kerry u16 camogie team their wait to play in their All Ireland is much shorter. This Sunday Kerry will take on Roscommon in the C Championship final in Sixmilebridge on Sunday. Kerry will be looking for revenge as they were defeated by the Rossies earlier in the season. During the week the Kerry management of Joe Walsh and John Sheehan were waiting on a number of players who were carrying niggles. The game on Sunday throws in at 3pm. NA GAEIL NEWS: The club is delighted to have had members on the Kerry u15’s development squad that defeated Kildare. The Na Gaeil Cycling club summer schedule sees them go for a spin every Saturday morning leaving the clubhouse at 9am. All are welcome and please wear high- vis jackets. Light training continues on Monday and Friday nights for those that have retired from playing football. This is a great way to keep fit and enjoy a bit of a laugh. The Gaelic for Mothers and Others team enjoy their run outs every Wednesday and Sunday evenings and no skill is required. Lotto: There was no winner of the Lotto from the numbers drawn 5,13,17 and 28 and the next jackpot will be e4,300 with the draw on Tuesday nights. PARNELLS NEWS: The u11 Boys took part in the South Kerry Division 1 and 2 finals which took place in Currans. In Division 2 the boys took on Firies and built up an early lead to secure the title. The Division 1 context was between Kenmare and Parnells and the side took the win on a 5-07 to 2-03 score line. The club was delighted to see so many parents on the line who were the proverbial extra man! The u16 boys had a hard fought win over Abbeydorney in the u16 Championship Plate semi-final. The Tralee side won 0-14 to 3-04. The u13’s played before the u16’s and kick started a great night for the club defeating Firies in the North Kerry Championship. They are now into the semi-final which will take place in two weeks against an as yet unknown opponent. The u14 camogie players had a training session with a difference as they were on the beach in Fenit. They enjoyed some skill based beach games and some treats afterwards. The club is entering the Trevor Barrett Memorial Tournament for the first time, Names are also been taken for the trip to the All Ireland Camogie final on Sunday September

ACROSS THE BAY GOES AHEAD BUT OTHER SWIMS POSTPONED: At the time of going to print the Across the Bay Challenge Swim is still on. The 5km swim from Derrymore to Fenit is one of the highlights of the year and proceeds are in aid of the Fenit RNLI. Swimmers must register and have completed a 3.8km verified swim to take part. The organisers of the swims, the Tralee Bay Swimming Club, always put the safety of their swimmers first and this year the weather certainly has not been their friend. They have two big swims left – the Wheel Rock and the Lighthouse swim. The dates for these will be announced once they know the wind and the tides are suitable. 16TH IN EUROPE FOR BOYS BASKETBALL SIDE: The Irish u16 basketball team ended their European Championships Division B tournament in 16th place. The
squad was coached by Pat Price who will now turn his attention to the upcoming Super League season with Garvey’s Tralee Warriors. Tralee was also represented on the squad by Sean and Tim Pollmann-Daamen. Continuing the great summer for underage basketball players from the county Kenmare’s Tania Salvado McCarthy and Castleisland’s Paris McCarthy are with Irish u16 girls who are in Sofia this week for their Euro’s. There classification games began today. CHAMPIONS WITH A ROUND TO SPARE: Craig Breen and Paul Nagle scored their fifth win from six rounds of the Irish Tarmac Championship at the weekend, to clinch the title for the first time with one round to spare. The Waterford-Killarney pairing completed the nine stages of the Ulster International Rally based in the Newry-Banbridge area of Co Down 20 seconds ahead of current British champion Matt Edwards and co-driver Patrick Walsh. The Welsh crew held second position throughout the rally, and stayed close to Breen over the opening stages, but the lead gradually increased and Edwards/Walsh never really looked as though they could mount a serious challenge. The Southern pair’s four earlier wins were at the wheel of Ford Fiestas, but this weekend was the first time they have campaigned in a Hyundai i20 in this country, following on from their recent overseas outings for the South Korean manufacturer, which culminated in seventh place in Rally Finland earlier this month, a round of the World Rally Championship. They will also compete in Rally GB next month. AT THE TRACK: This Friday night at the Kingdom Greyhound Stadium it’s the final of the Outofrange@stud A4 525 yards plus the second round heats of the Kingdom Stadium A3 confined 500 yards stake. Listowel’s Liam Shine was 4th in the country. John McGrath was just outside the top 50 at the European Strokeplay Championships in Dagenham in England.
