The results of Ireland's first coordinated reduced worktime trial (The four-day week) has been presented by University College Dublin’s Dr Orla Kelly this week at the Dublin Chamber of Commerce.
The project, backed by Fórsa and carried out in partnership by Four-Day Week Ireland, University College Dublin (UCD), and Boston College, has examined the financial, social, and environmental impact that a four-day working week would have on businesses and employees in Ireland. The trial has been a resounding success in virtually every dimension with 100% of employees indicating they would prefer a reduced work schedule. Management are also very pleased with the outcome of the trial; in terms of productivity, and overall experience. On a scale of 1-10, from very negative to very positive, the companies’ average rating for the trial was 9.2. All participating companies are planning to continue with the four-day week schedule.

Are you looking for a Christmas suggestion for the skin junkie that is concerned with anti-ageing?
As we age, collagen depletes, and we lack that lovely plumpness to our skin. So, it is a good idea to put the collagen back in to our skin via a supplement.
Collagen is a critical part of the structure of the dermis, and it is what gives our skin its plumpness. As we age, from our early twenties we lose collagen at the rate of 1.5% per year. This loss results in wrinkles, ne lines, dry, blemished, and thinning skin. Victoria Beckham (who knows a thing or two about skin!) takes a collagen supplement, Skinade, to keep her skin looking youthful and glowing. CHRC at Bon Secours Tralee is the exclusive provider of Skinade in Kerry.
Skinade is a drink that supports and nourishes the skin, not just on your face, but all over your body, working from the inside out to rebuild your collagen matrix below the skin surface. It boosts hydration and reduces the appearance of ne lines and wrinkles. Drinking Skinade regularly gives you a rmer, more even toned, hydrated, radiant, youthful and healthier looking skin. It contains collagen peptides and Vitamin B complex, Vitamin C, lysine and omega 3&6 and as well as working on your skin, it will also work on healthier and faster growing hair and nails.
All you need to do is take this drink daily. I recommend taking it, chilled, in the morning; wait to see the amazing results! Vouchers are available and we provide a consultation to make sure Skinade is suitable for your needs.

AsIAm, Ireland’s National Autism Charity, has officially launched its Autism-Friendly Towns Programme for 2022/23, an initiative that brings communities together to work to increase accessibility, understanding and acceptance for Autistic people in towns across Ireland. Whilst COVID-19 caused huge disruption for Autistic people and local communities, this year AsIAm will present awards to a number of communities in recognition of their progress, including Tralee, who will receive a Sensory & Communication Accessibility Award.
AsIAm work with communities to build infrastructure and support to make their town more inclusive and ultimately autism friendly. The initiative, launched in 2018, sees towns seek accreditation by providing the necessary
tools and measures that include reducing sensory simulation and undertaking staff training to improve understanding of autism across local businesses, clubs and schools. Currently Autistic people across Ireland face significant barriers with only 40% of Irish people claiming to have a ‘good’ understanding of Autism whilst 60% of people associate negative connotations with Autism. Autism Research AsIAm
Autistic people across towns and villages in Ireland want to be afforded the same chance in every aspect of life, from going to school and making friends, to finding a job and accessing public services. This year 19 towns* have signed up to the programme where they will recruit a certain percentage

Unique new material developed at University of Limerick has shown significant promise in the treatment of spinal cord injury.Brand new research conducted at UL’s Bernal Institute – published in leading global journal Biomaterials Research – has made exciting progress in the field of spinal cord tissue repair.
New hybrid biomaterials developed at UL in the form of nanoparticles and building on existing practice in the tissue engineering field, were successfully synthesised to promote repair and regeneration following spinal cord injury, according to the researchers.
The UL team led by Professor Maurice N Collins, Associate Professor, School of Engineering at UL and lead author Aleksandra Serafin, a PhD candidate at UL, used a new kind of scaffolding material
and a unique new electrically conducting polymer composite to promote new tissue growth and generation that could advance the treatment of spinal cord injury.“Spinal Cord Injury remains one of the most debilitating traumatic injuries a person can sustain during their lifetime, affecting every aspect of the person’s life,” explained Professor Collins. These results offer encouraging prospects for patients and further research into this area is planned.“Treating spinal injuries will therefore not only allow for the patient to walk or move again but will allow them to live their lives to their full potential, which makes projects such as this one so vital to the research and medical communities.

Hotel and guesthouse owners in Kerry met with local political representatives last week to discuss the challenges facing the tourism sector as 2023 approaches. While there has been a welcome upturn in tourism this year, businesses throughout the country remain in recovery mode, having survived the worst economic shock in recent memory and who are now confronting skyrocketing energy costs and an expected global economic downturn in key markets next year.
Bernadette Randles, Chair of the Kerry of the Irish Hotels Federation (IHF) outlined to Kerry representatives the crucial importance that everything possible is done to protect and secure tourism livelihoods and support the long-term sustainable development of our wider tourism industry.
“Irish tourism businesses are collectively the largest indigenous employer in the country. Here in Kerry, tourism accounts for 16600 jobs, and €592m of revenue annually. Speaking with local TDs and Senators it is clear that they understand the value and importance of tourism to our local communities, but also the enormous impact multiple factors are having on these businesses, right now.Hoteliers also discussed with local political representatives the importance of the 9% Tourism VAT rate and how this is the right rate for the long-term sustainable development of Ireland’s largest indigenous industry, “The current 9% rate is the right rate for Irish tourism in a European context. Increasing the tourism VAT rate by half to 13.5% in March 2023 would make Ireland’s tourism VAT rate the third highest
The Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, Darragh O’Brien TD, has informed Government of an increase of €5,000 to the social housing income eligibility threshold for Kerry. The increase will take effect from 01 January 2023.

model (and income thresholds) in 2023. The Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage is currently working on this revised model.
Commenting on the increase, Minister O’Brien said:
“This increase will ensure that social housing support is available to vulnerable households in Kerry. It will help protect those most at risk
from the recent increase in the cost of living.
“This change, the first in over a decade, builds on the recommendations of the review into social housing income eligibility limits. My department and I are now working hard to produce a new income eligibility model, which will be completed in 2023.”

After you book in we follow a plan. This is in order to assess and improve any area of your body that is causing you discomfort, pain or a lack of mobility and strength.

Through various hands on Neuromuscular techniques, massage techniques and mobility work we will aim to reduce pain, improve movement patterns and strength.

KERINS O RAHILLYS NEWS
Senior Munster Club Championship Semi Final Result.
Kerins O Rahillys 1-09 Eire Og Ennis 1-08. Sunday evening in Austin Stacks Park saw KOR take on the Clare Champions Eire Og Ennis in the Semi Final of this years Senior Munster Club Championship. While reduced to 14 men halfway through the first half . after David Moran sufferd 2 yellow cards, O'Rahillys players rallied to the cause despite some close calls late in the game .When it was needed most the influential Gavin O Brien linked up well with Cormac Coffey and Karl Mullins to keep the pressure on Eire Og in the 2nd half .But the Clare outfit showed why they are back to back County Champions when then dragged themselves right back into the contest with a great goal from wing back Eanna O Connor which kickstarted a period of dominance to leave just three between the sides with ten minutes to go.Eire Og went on to score the next two points to leave the minimum between the sides. For the last few remaining minutes it was nail biting stuff, as both teams were guilty of some very poor turnovers. And Were it not for a superb block down by Darragh McElligott KOR may well have lost the tie. The supporters were elated to reach their first Munster Club Final since 2009. Management will be delighted with the manner in which the team dug out the victory in the face of adversity, the character shown by the players was outstanding on the day. KOR now advance to play
Newcastlewest in the final on Saturday December 10th at a venue to be decided.

Dear
Dear Heart of Jesus in the past I have asked for many favours, this time I ask you this special one (mention favour). Take it dear Heart of Jesus and place it within your Heart where your Fa ther sees it, then in his merciful eyes it will become your favour not mine. Amen. Say this prayer three times for three days and your favour will be granted. Never known to fail. Must promise publication of prayer. B.S.
