LEGAL MATTERS CORNER MIRIAM MC GILLICUDDY ANSWERS YOUR LEGAL QUERIES The Right to disconnect Barry has heard about the right to disconnect and is wondering what it is about. He is working from home but due to childcare responsibilities he often cannot get his work hours in until after the children have gone to bed. The Right to disconnect is the principle that once one is out of work hours and having a rest period that no employer or fellow employee should disturb one during these time periods. It is the employee’s right to be able to disengage from work and refrain from attending to work related electronic communications e.g. email, post, phone and social media. The Right to disconnect has three main areas. 1. The right of an employee to not regularly work outside normal working hours. 2. The right not to be penalised or victimised for refusing to deal with issues of the business outside of normal working hours. 3. The duty to respect another person’s right to disconnect. A new Code of Practice has been produced by the Workplace Relations Commission for Employers and Employees on the Right to Disconnect. This has been produced in the light of technological advanced and the remote and flexible working arrangements that are now part of working life. The policy is to ensure that both employers and employees get the best out
of the changed working environment bearing in mind statutory obligations, working safely and maintaining work life balance. The Organisation of Working Time Act 1997 provides the minimum statutory work breaks and it is important employers reinforce these to ensure that employees are taking their proper breaks and also rest periods between work. E.g. days off. The maximum working week is 48 hours unless there are special arrangements e.g. hospitality industry. Employers should ideally have a Right to Disconnect policy in the workplace. Such a policy will talk about workplace wellbeing and address meetings and communications within the workplace to ensure work/life balance. This should acknowledge traditional working patterns but also the work of others like Barry who may work flexibly or have varying work patterns. Moreover the expectation would be that emails would be checked during normal working hours so Barry may be sending late emails but these would have a rider on the email setting out to the recipient : “I am currently working flexibly so while it suits me to send this email now I do not expect a response or action outside of your own working hours” or even a simple “Please do not feel obliged to reply to this email outside of your normal working hours.” The Code of Practice reinforces employee wellbeing health and safety which enhances work place productivity at the end of the day. Lawquip: “It is better to have one person working with you than three people working for you.” — Dwight D. Eisenhower

KEEP YOUR BUSINESS IN TRALEE AND KEEP TRALEE IN BUSINESS!
HELLO YOU BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE! This week I am going to talk about what confidence really is... a skill. CHANGE YOUR LIFE.
CONFIDENCE IS A SKILL.
I've said this SO many times to clients, and today I'm going to explain it to you... Confidence is a skill. It is something you build, something you work on and something that, like a muscle, gets stronger with repetition. The problem is, people who lack confidence don't realise that it is a skill, they think it is something that they were born without. This is why we need to think of becoming confident as developing that skill. Self-confidence is a skill. It’s something we can all master with learning, practice and persistence. Think about it, if you lack confidence in public speaking and make a conscious decision to keep doing it, your confidence will improve over time. Developing skills always leads to more confidence. How we become more confident? Of course, a lot of this will come from finding your feet and establishing new routines and rituals, but there are a few tricks you can try: - Develop a growth mindset, and see challenge or failure as an opportunity to learn - Appreciate what you’re good at and where your unique strengths lie, remind yourself of these daily - Be self-aware regarding your negative self-deprecating thoughts. - Celebrate and acknowledge every single small win, no matter how insignificant you think it feels - Always be honest about how you’re feeling with your close network, they will help give you a boost when you need it - Leave your comfort zone and challenge yourself from time to time - When you're building self-confidence, remember, what you’re doing is perfecting a skill, the more you practice these habits, the more self confident you’ll become. It’s that simple.
Has this page sparked something inside of you.? Are you dying to unlock the most confident version of yourself? Well... I have a Virtual Confidence Masterclass coming up June 14th at 7pm (don't worry it's not done on zoom)! For more details on the masterclass or to sign up - email me rebecca.shortt94@gmail.com or follow @theconfidencegame on Instagram!
I would absolutely love to do a Confidence Q&A (100% anonymous of course), so if you have any confidence questions you can email them to rebecca.shortt94@gmail.com with the word 'CONFIDENCE' in the subject line. For more information on what I do or if you are interested in Confidence Coaching, you can follow @theconfidencegame on instagram or email me: rebecca.shortt94@gmail.com for more information about 1:1 coaching, group coaching or masterclasses!

It is one of the hardest stains to remove on carpet or fabric. There are some specific red wine remover products on the market ,which work very well- however. Their effectiveness is dependent many variables mainly how long the stain has been on the carpet. For best results we recommend using a commercial carpet shampoo machine. These can be hired out From our shop, pop in someday and I can talk you through.

Apple Pay completes the Digital Wallet for Cara Credit Union Members Cara Credit Union, with branches in Tralee, Castleisland, Killorglin, Ballyduff and Causeway is delighted to announce a significant enhancement to their Current Account service with the introduction of Apple Pay. With the introduction of Google Pay and Fitbit Pay late last year, Apple Pay now completes the digital wallet offering for Cara Credit Union’s Mastercard Debit Card holders. Speaking to Pa Laide, CEO of Cara Credit Union, “We are pleased to bring you a safer way to pay, giving you the freedom to securely spend without a €50 contactless limit, touch-free with Apple Pay. You can now use your Apple device to pay with your Credit Union Debit Card wherever you see the Apple Pay or Contactless logo in store, online or in-app. With the introduction of Google Pay and Fitbit Pay late last year, Apple Pay now completes the
digital wallet. Additionally, we have also launched a new and much improved mobile App for all our members. The new app gives you complete control of your Cara Credit Union account 24/7, at home or on the go.” The use of digital wallet payments provides a safer more secure way to pay that removes the need to handle payment cards, touch physical buttons or exchange cash. It’s the modern way to pay, particularly given the times we live in. The good news is that, with a Cara Credit Union Current Account, you can tap away in the knowledge that contactless payments are free. To set-up Apple Pay, Google Pay and/or Fitbit Pay, just download the app, enter your Debit Mastercard details by scanning the card or entering the details manually, and submit a One Time Passcode. You can use it wherever Contactless payments are
accepted. You simply hold your mobile phone and/or Fitbit device near a payment terminal to make a Contactless payment. Pa added, “ The introduction of our Mastercard Debit Card has been a game-changer for our members. We are now in a position whereby our loyal members can do all their dayto-day banking with their local credit union, from anywhere
in the world. From recent surveys, we know our members want to support us, but they also want convenience and modern banking services and now we are delighted to bring this to fruition. “ Everything you need to know about Cara Credit Union’s Current Account , Apple Pay, Google Pay and Fitbit Pay can be found on their website www.caracreditunion.ie<http:// www.caracreditunion.ie>

Get your business noticed in Tralee’s favourite Friday read
HELLo everyone! & welcome back to this brand new weekly column, 'Create with Rebecca', a page where I will be talking ALL things social media! (yaaaaaaay!). This column will be especially helpful for those in business looking to navigate the world pf social media for their business. I will be simplifying EVERYTHING as well as giving my top tips. Oh, by the way... I can edit videos, advise you on social media & create a new vibe for your brand! (Aka video editor, social media consultant & graphic designer) - so I know what I'm talking about!
HOW OFTEN DO I POST ON SOCIAL MEDIA? Some of you probably won't like this answer... I could say ohhh you know 3/4 times a week is plenty. But we both know that's wrong... don't we? The reality is, the more your online audience sees content from your brand / business / you... the more they will be engaged. Now of course, there is no special number or formula, although many people will tell you there is. Think about it, if you are a social media user... what accounts do you engage with most? Probably the ones that post most frequently right? Think of posting on socials like selling, or inventory or a customer... to make money and grow your business, it is ideal that you sell daily, bring in customers daily and maintain your inventory daily. So treat your social media that way! Let's take Instagram as an example, because I know that's probably the one most of you are most familiar with. Instagram has an algorithm, and that algorithm prioritises accounts that use Instagram's features: grid posts, stories, reels, igtv etc. So you want to be using those features and feeding your audience content. Remember last week I gave you ideas on what to post? That's what you need to be doing... DAILY. Yes, I said it... daily. But Rebecca... I don't have time for that! Um... ok... it's part of marketing your business though. I'm not saying you have to be on the app 24/7 but you do have to post at least one piece of content... daily. The good news? If you plan out your content and posts then posting content daily should take no longer than a few minutes. For your business, you need to plan your content and set out time to create that content every month / week, or of course you can hire someone to do it for you! Here's a broad idea of how much you could (should) be posting each week. Reels 5x per week Grid Posts 3/4x per week 5-10 stories per day 1/2x igtv's per week. Is it slightly overwhelming to think of posting that much per week? Do you not even know where to begin? Well... that's where the professionals come in. You can hop on a 1 hour call with me and I can coach you to become your own in house social media manager.... or you can hire me to do it! If you want to discuss this more contact me at rebecca.shortt94@gmail.com with the subject line 'SOCIAL MEDIA'. -
I hope you are as excited as I am for this new weekly Social Media column! I am excited to help you all become social media savvy and to learn tips and tricks along the way. For more information on what I do or if you are interested in any of my social media service: I offer 1:1 consultation calls, video editing, graphic design and more, you can follow @create.socialmedia on instagram or email me: rebecca.shortt94@gmail.com to book a call! AND NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS...
from The Tralee Advertiser Team and Tralee Chamber Alliance Popcorn at the Ready as Lasta Festival Streams on YouTube By Georgina Downes Oh, how we’ve missed the theatre. It’s been a tough thirteen months without it. We want curtain calls, grease paint, emotional exchanges from actors and intimate connections with musicians. Sadly, it looks like we’ll have to wait a little bit longer but, in the meantime, there’s Lasta, a nationwide, streaming arts programme for young people, by young people, focusing on the myriad of wonderful talent right here in Kerry. This delightful, collaborative arts festival for youngsters
and oldsters alike, takes place in venues across the country, from Tralee to Limerick, Ennis to Galway, Portlaoise to Longford and Dún Laoghaire to Letterkenny. A tough recruitment process, in partnership with the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance in UL, has uncovered three amazing young musicians who will curate this year’s festival in Siamsa Tiré. They are Kerry’s own Ranóg Townsend, Aisling Clarke from Roscommon and Susan Ní Cholmáin from Donegal. The
trio will deliver a programme of online events to engage children and young adults across a variety of art forms, exploring parts of Irish folk culture and the traditional arts. “This promises to be a fresh, fun, diverse, accessible and exciting series of online events for young people to engage with the arts, theatre and music in a bold new way,” Róisín McGarr, Executive Director Siamsa Tíre, says. “This festival heralds the Summer Solstice… the most powerful moment of potential in the Celtic Calendar when light overwhelms darkness for the longest day of the year and shines in full force. After what has felt like a
year of unrelenting darkness under the shadow of the global pandemic, this youth arts festival allows our young people to shine in full force again and share their talents, energy, and potential and their brightest ideas.” Gather the family round and have popcorn at the ready because Lasta’s official opening - Soda Blonde Concert - streams on YouTube on Thursday, 10th June at 7pm. Save the date. Visit www.siamsatire.com for details.
Local lads pay respect to the late great Phil Lynott Remarkably for the last 35 years , these 4 friends (Billy Lyons , Bernard Boyle , Liam Griffin and Timmy Prenderville ) have made the annual trip to pay their respects to their idol Phil Lynott (Thin Lizzy ) who passed away on Jan 4th 1986. save this year due to Covid. Also Phil Lynotts Mother , Philomena ,2nd Anniversary is this month. . “We would always go back to the Lynott house and spend time with her , chat , have a toast to Phil ..She was a true lady , we will miss her “
from all over the world .In previous years we met up with Graham , Philomenas nephew and reminisced a little . Then its off to see Phils statue ,in Grafton st, outside Bruxelles Bar , which was Phils local . There’s always a great buzz and music here on this day . Next year’s trip is already being planned for the 4 of them but sadly there’s no trip happening in June to pay their respects to Philomena. But we will be there next year says Billy . Now thats what I call ‘True fans ‘

Peppers, mushrooms, lean ham (visible fat removed) and skinless cooked chicken are all Free – or try a Fiorentina-style pizza with a scattering of spinach and an egg cracked on top. To make it vegan, just swap out the mozzarella for 70g dairy-free mozzarella alternative and add 1½ Syns per serving.

Put the flour in a large bowl and stir in the yeast and 1 tsp salt. Make a well in the middle, pour in 75ml of warm water and mix with a wooden spoon until you have a so£, fairly wet dough. Dust a surface very lightly with flour (1 level tsp is ½ Syn), turn out the dough and knead for 5 minutes until smooth. Use a rolling pin to roll the dough into a thin circle about 22cm across. Put your rolled-out base on the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet (add a sheet of non-stick baking parchment if you’re using a baking sheet). Spoon the tomato sauce over the base and arrange the mozzarella on top.

Put all the topping ingredients apart from the mozzarella and basil in a saucepan, season to taste and cook over a medium-low heat for 25-30 minutes or until you have a thick, spreadable sauce. Meanwhile, preheat your oven to 200°C/fan 180°C/gas 6 and heat through a baking sheet or, better still, a pizza stone – this will help your pizza to cook evenly.

Milltown/Castlemaine GAA secures over €39,000 in funding under the LEADER Programme
Minister for Education and Kerry TD Norma Foley welcomes the announcement of €39,432 in funding for Milltown/Castlemaine GAA club under the new LEADER Transition Programme. LEADER is a rural development programme co-funded by the EU which operates a locally-led approach to meeting the needs of local communities and businesses. The programme aims to support job creation, foster entrepreneurship and encourage rural communities to build on their existing strengths and assets. In recent times, funding has been awarded to Milltown/Castlemaine GAA club to develop a 650m by 1.8m walking track around the grounds including ground level lighting and safety fencing. Minister Foley said: “LEADER is a vital source of funding for community-led projects across the county. This funding will support the Milltown/Castlemaine GAA club by providing them with the necessary funding to upgrade their facilities and outdoor amenities whilst also enriching the local community.”
Minster Foley welcomes over €800,000 in funding for Kerry roads
Education minister Norma Foley TD welcomes the allocation of €806,675 in funding for the weatherproofing of Kerry’s regional and rural road network. The funding was made available to Kerry County Council under the Climate Adaptation Investment Programme which aims to address the impacts of climate change and severe weather events on road networks. In total 21 projects across the county will benefit from this funding with many schemes aimed at carrying out important upkeep and improvement works that will support regional and local roads. Minister Foley said: “This funding is great news for local and rural communities in Kerry. The focus of this scheme is to support the continued maintenance and enhancement of our road network with particular regard to the impact of severe weather events. Overall this funding will help to ensure the roads across Kerry remain safe for all users.” TRALEE ADVERTISER

T RQ U I N G CINA R SAND ! KEEP TRALEE IN BUSINESS! PREMIUM ADVERTISING 28 O KEEP YOUR BUSINESS TRALEE NEW 520-MILE TESLA MODEL S PLAID+ CANCELLED BY ELON MUSK
The Tesla Model S Plaid+ saloon has been cancelled by Elon Musk, but the firm still plans to launch a high-performance version of its large all-electric executive. As usual, Musk used his large twitter following to deliver the news that the Model S Plaid line-up would be cut in half, with the longer range Plaid+ now no longer a part of the carmaker’s plans. The Tesla Model S Plaid is powered by the company’s newly developed three-motor Plaid powertrain, which generates 1,006bhp. The system gives the saloon a 0–60mph time of 1.9 seconds (which is quicker than any road car on sale today) and a top speed of 200mph. The car will also dispatch the quarter mile in less than nine seconds, while range stands tentatively at 390 miles. It’s available to order in the UK now for £110,980, but while Musk has reiterated that first deliveries will take place later this month, British buyers will have to wait until the end of 2022 for their cars according to Tesla’s UK configurator. The Plaid+ variant would have lined up as a long-range version of the car, with the same performance specs, but with up to 520 miles of running on a full battery. It was priced at £139,980.Like most car manufacturers, Tesla is being affected by the global semiconductor shortage. In an earnings call on 26 April, Musk called the shortage “a huge problem.” Tesla has said the Plaid system features a new battery module and “updated thermal architecture.” The unit is also compatible with the company’s latest 250kW charging infrastructure.
NEW 1,578BHP BUGATTI CHIRON SUPER SPORT LAUNCHED WITH £2.7 MILLION PRICE TAG
This is the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport, a new, more road friendly version of the limited edition Chiron Super Sport 300+. It’s on sale now, priced from €3.2 million (around £2.7 million), with the first deliveries of a production run of 60 models expected to arrive early next year. Like the standard Chiron, the Super Sport is powered by a quad-turbocharged 8.0-litre W12. But, thanks to some larger turbochargers, redesigned cylinder heads and a new oil pump, the engine now has an extra 98bhp, taking its maximum output to 1,578bhp and a whopping 1,600Nm of torque.Bugatti says that’s enough grunt to get from 0–124mph in 5.8 seconds, which is half a second quicker than the new Volkswagen Golf GTI takes to get from 0–62mph. 0–186mph takes just 12.1 seconds and, the firm says that the car is capable of speeds up to 273mph. To handle the extra performance, the Chiron Super Sport features four-wheel drive and a host of chassis upgrades specifically designed for high-speed driving. There’s a tighter steering rack, new dampers and stiffer springs, all which Bugatti says lend to a setup that’s more stable than the normal Chiron.Bugatti has also commissioned a set of specially developed Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres. Currently, they’re the only road-legal rubber that’s rated to drive consistently at speeds of up to 500km/h (310mph), verified with the same test bench used to develop the tyres for the Space Shuttle.Other tweaks include an enormous quad-exit exhaust system and diamond cut alloy wheels. The Chiron Pur Sport’s magnesium wheels are also available as an optional extra, and shave a few more grams off the hypercar’s kerb weight.Save for some new Chiron Super Sport branded seats, little has changed in the car’s cabin. It features the same carbon fibre dashboard, leather upholstery and aluminium trim, along with the same instrument cluster and infotainment setup.
FORD INVESTIGATES DISPLAYING ADVERTS ON CAR INFOTAINMENT SCREENS Ford has patented a system that would scan roadside advertisement billboards and display information from them as pop-up ad on a car’s infotainment screen. The patent, which was filed in the US back in 2016 but has only recently become publicly accessible, shows an example image of a billboard for a hot dog stand. Information including the business’ name, slogan, phone number, address and logo are highlighted as being displayable in the car.The patent says this information would be captured from the billboard and relayed to the in-car screen “via a camera”, while online links could be included in the displayed information, taking the driver to the advertiser’s website upon clicking or tapping. This isn’t the first time unusual patents have been filed by Ford. The US giant has previously submitted applications for a boot-mounted video projector, a system that rids a vehicle of its ‘new-car smell’, and removable driver controls for autonomous vehicles. It’s unclear whether the in-car advert patent could be rolled out to Ford’s production cars, or whether it would be implemented in the UK. Similarly, the patent makes no reference to whether the innovation is intended for implementation in today’s cars, or any self-driving vehicles that may or may not arrive in the future. Another patent of a similar vein recently filed in the US comes from multinational communications giant Verizon. This describes a system where a camera scans a car’s number plate and uses the driver’s information - provided they have opted in to the service - to display a personalised advert on the nearest smart billboard.

LAUGHTER ....THE BEST MEDICINE ! TROPHY WIFE Bob, a 70-year-old, extremely wealthy widower shows up at the Country Club with a breathtakingly beautiful 25 year-old blonde who knocks everyone’s socks off with her youthful looks and charm. She hangs onto Bob’s arm and listens intently to his every word. His buddies at the club are all aghast. At the very first chance, they corner him and ask, “Bob, how did you get the trophy girlfriend?” Bob replies, “Girlfriend? She’s my wife!” They’re amazed, but continue to ask. “So, how did you persuade her to marry you?” “I lied about my age”, Bob replies. “What, did you tell her you were only 50?” Bob smiles and says, “No, I told her I was 90.”
MY WIFE WON’T LIKE IT One day I accidentally overturned my golf buggy. Elizabeth, a very attractive and keen golfer, who lived in a villa on the golf course, heard the noise and called out, Are you okay, what’s your name?” “Its Jack , and I’m Okay thanks,” I replied. “Jack , forget your troubles. Come to my villa, rest a while, and I’ll help you get the cart up later.” “That’s mighty nice of you,” I answered, but I don’t think my wife would like it.” “Oh, come on,” Elizabeth insisted. She was very pretty and persuasive... I was weak. “Well okay,” I finally agreed, and added, “but my wife won’t like it.” After a restorative brandy, and some creative putting lessons, I thanked my host. “I feel a lot better now, but I know my wife is going to be really upset.” “Don’t be silly! Elizabeth said with a smile, She won’t know anything. By the way, where is she?” “Under the cart!”

FAI NATIONAl P.R.O. OF THE YEAR LEAVING CERTIFICATE A STEP ALONG THE ROAD BUT NOT THE ONLY WAY: We will start with something a little different this week as many of those we write about each week are in the exam halls with the Leaving Cert now underway. All the clubs included in our Notes and indeed I am sure all other clubs as well want to wish all their players who are doing the exams over the next few weeks all the best of luck. The Leaving Cert can be a stressful time for all concerned and while it is certainly an important step along a young person’s road to where they want to get to it is not the only route. To borrow a sporting metaphor all you can do is to leave it all out on the pitch, have no regrets and see what happens. And make time to get out for a bit of exercise as it will do your brain wonders to switch off for a bit and enjoy your chosen sport or activity. COUNTY LEAGUE BEGINS THIS WEEKEND: In the County Senior Football League Division 1A Austin Stacks are at home to Dingle, John Mitchels are away to Dr Crokes while in Division 1B Rahilly’s travel to Kenmare Shamrocks. There are also games in all the other Divisions. AUSTIN STACKS JUNIOR NOTES: The club is delighted with the take-up from boys born 2014, 2015 and 2016 but new players are always welcome. The club has a great group of skilled and dedicated coaches with training times of Sunday mornings at 11am and Thursday afternoons from 5.30pm at Connolly Park. Parents can even get tea or coffee from the club shop on Sunday mornings obviously Covid safe. The u8’s and u9’s train at the same times at the same venue while the u10/u11’s also train on Sunday’s and Thursdays and their next game is this Thursday, June 17th away to Dr Crokes in Killarney. The u12’s and u13’s train at 6.30pm on Tuesday and Thursdays in Connolly Park and they will play their opening Lee Strand u13 League Division 1 Phase 1 game against John Mitchels at 7pm in Connolly Park. The Division 9 side play the same opposition at the same venue throwing in at 5.30pm on Sunday. The u15’s began their Lee Strand County League away to An Ghaeltacht on Wednesday night and play their second game next Wednesday night at home to Rathmore. In Division 9 they are at home to Keel/Listry on Wednesday 16th at 7pm. The Austin Stacks Camp will take place from August 3rd to 7th from 9.30am to 1pm each day with no bookings Friday 11th June 2021
required as all comers to Connolly Park will be welcomed on the day. The club is collecting any boots that you might have that you children have grown out off but are still in good condition and can be passed onto upcoming players. PARNELL’S NEWS: The Senior camogie side are delighted to welcome ex-Offaly and Rhode footballer and a schools camogie player who is now working in Kerry and trained with the squad last week. The senior men’s side will achieve another first for the club tonight, Friday June 11th, when they make their debut in Division 1 of the County Senior Hurling League. They travel to take on Abbeydorney with an 8pm throw-in and the club wishes the squad and management all the best for their first season at the top level of Kerry hurling. There were 4 new players with the u7’s this week which the club is delighted to see. This group really enjoyed their runouts and the Players of the Week so far are – Cian Canty, Chloe Roche, Nicholas O’Shea, Fia Breen Moynihan and Clara Kate O’Connor with Thomas Dwyer Diggiin and Conor Long picking up the Award this week. Kerry Camogie manager Ian Brick gave the u12 girls a great fast paced training session in Caherslee on Saturday morning. He was well impressed with their skills and competitiveness. The u13’s had a very good competitive training game ahead of their return to competitive action and also trained on Sunday ahead of their first match against Crotta in Round One of the North Kerry Hurling League. The 15 Boys begin their County League today Friday in Ballyduff at 5.30pm. Club Members are asked to note the new arrangements regarding dropping off and collecting players at Caherslee. JOHN MITCHELS NOTES: The club was thrilled to see over 70 under 7 young boys and girls enjoying their training in the sun on Sunday. They are back this Sunday from 11am. And like all clubs all the Mitchels training sessions, games and activities are ran in conjunction with GAA COVID protocols. The u9’s had four stations set up with different drills at each and boys really enjoyed performing these for the coaches. The u11 boys had their first competitive outing last night, Thursday, when they travelled to Churchill. The u12’s will play Stacks in their first games with the Division 9 side in action from 5.30pm and the Division 1 game throwing in at 7pm. The u15 boys welcomed Renard and the u17’s were at home to Knock/ Brosna/Duagh in a very strong Division
3B. There was also a great turn-out for the u8’s and 10’s girls training and the coaches are delighted with the way the players are learning the skills and taking the drills on board. Training will again be at 10.30am on Sunday at our Ballyseedy complex. The u12 Girls will began their competitive action this week away to Listowel Emmets (results next week) while the u14’s start with a trip to Castleisland Desmond on the 13th for their Division 2 clash. The Senior Men’s and Women’s sides are training hard ahead of their upcoming competitive season start with the men in action this Saturday night. Like a number of other clubs John Mitchels is also taking part in the Boot Club scheme and is delighted that in a short time 20 pairs of boots have been passed on to younger players. **The Tralee Advertiser welcomes new PRO Tanya O’Connor and thanks her for her first set of club notes. In the Girls section the u14’s are away to Dingle this Sunday, June 13th, at 5.30pm in Gallarus in the County League while the u16’s will be at home to ISG with details to follow. Underage National Underage League – The Kerry National Underage League sides at 14’s, 17’s and 19’s should know their Groups and fixtures dates as the Covid delayed season is due to kick-off at the end of this month. BASKETBALL COULD BE BACK: Basketball Ireland are working behind the scenes to have a competition as soon as the Covid Protocols allows. It looks like there will be 4 Groups with the Kerry sides in the South Group along with 3 Cork teams. Details cannot be released yet as the clubs need to be allowed back to indoor training and have a preseason before the competition would start.
