DON’T FORGET TO TURN THE CLOCKS BACK! Top tips for energy saving as the clocks go back on Sunday October 29th On Sunday October 29th at 2am the clocks go back, making mornings slightly lighter and evenings darker. Some will spend an extra hour in bed and others will get out and embrace the day but an interesting fact is that the whole concept of daylight saving was actually introduced in 1907 by the great-greatgrandfather of Coldplay singer Chris Martin! William Lillet published a pamphlet called ‘The Waste of Daylight’ in a bid to get people out of bed earlier by changing the nation’s clocks. Willett then spent the rest of his life trying to convince people his scheme was a good one. Sadly, he died of influenza in 1915 at the age of 58; a year before his clock-changing plan was adopted by the Germans and the UK in 1916. His great-great grandson, Chris Martin however has had huge success with smash hits ‘Clocks’ and ‘Daylight’ perhaps inspired by his forefather! There are currently about 70 countries that participate in 6

TRALEE ADVERTISER

Daylight Saving Time, though not necessarily on the same schedule as Ireland. Ireland is located in the Greenwich Mean Time zone, sharing the same time as Great Britain, Iceland, Portugal, and some countries in northwest Africa. In Ireland, the maximum 17 hours of sunlight - on the longest day in June (the summer solstice) - dwindles to just seven hours and 30 minutes six months later in December (the winter solstice). As the clocks go back on October 29th and the evenings get darker we have some top energy saving tips from Solus: 1. There are still many homes in Ireland that have old incandescent light bulbs hiking up their energy costs; or stocks of them in the cupboard. The old bulbs are very wasteful as 90% of the electricity they use produces heat rather than light. 2. Turn the lights off when leaving a room and use “task” lighting rather than whole room lighting when only a small amount of light is required. Friday 27th October 2017

3. Most energy efficient light bulbs, such as Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFLs) and halogen light bulbs, are available in various configurations and although they cost more to purchase, they are far more energy efficient thus reducing electricity costs. For example, a CFL light bulb uses 80% less electricity than an equivalent incandescent light bulb and typically lasts eight to twelve times longer.

4. Replacing 3 x 100W incandescent light bulbs with CFLs using 3 hours of electricity per day can save an average household up to €43 per annum. 5. Outdoor decorative lights look great when lighting up trees or garden features. However, it might be worth considering only switching them on occasionally to help reduce your energy bill.

WHAT’S HAPPENING IN TRALEE... THE FUTURE IS BRIGHT GREEN FOR SIAMSA TÍRE! Siamsa Tíre, The National Folk Theatre of Ireland, this week launched its Greening Siamsa initiative as it celebrates the completion of recent energy upgrades to the theatre and arts centre. Siamsa Tíre has recognised the role it can play in reducing the impact of its activities on the environment, and is developing policies which will culminate in an over-arching environmental strategy for the organisation. It will encompass a wideranging approach to reducing its carbon footprint, waste and water management, and improving bio-diversity in the grounds around the building. The first phase of this policy was to improve energy efficiency and reduce dependency on fossil fuels. The works carried out in Siamsa Tire included the installation of insulation, heat pumps, Photo Voltaic (PV) panels and upgraded lighting. Funding for the energy upgrade works was provided by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) and Siamsa Tíres’ core funder, the Department of Culture, Heritage & the Gaeltacht.

Under the auspices of Kerry Sustainable Energy CoOperative, SE Systems submitted an application on behalf of Siamsa Tíre to the SEAI as part of the Better Energy Communities programme for 2017. In April of this year, it received notification that the application had been successful and work commenced immediately. The project submitted included substantial measures to reduce the energy used by Siamsa Tíre:• This project was completed by BEC partners, nearly all local Kerry and Munster based contractors, providing direct employment and sustainability in the locality. James Clifford from Kerry Sustainable Energy Cooperative added, ‘We were very pleased that Siamsa Tíre signed up to the Better Energy Community with Kerry Sustainable Energy Co-operative Ltd (KSEC) and that the grant application was successful. The first phase of the project commenced with the insulation and venting of the building

by Kingdom Installation Ltd. In order to move toward more sustainable energy, the second phase consisted of installation of a new Photo Voltaic (PV) System. The third phase of this project was the installation of a Mitsubishi Air to Water Heat & Cooling System and the final phase replaced current lighting with LED fittings and bulbs where possible, increasing savings on energy costs. Catríona Fallon, General Manager of Siamsa Tíre added, “The development of our Greening Siamsa

initiative reflects a growing desire by many people to protect what is precious for future generations. These energy upgrades represent the beginning of our Greening Initiative and our plans to develop policies across waste and water management, biodiversity, transport, travel and procurement. This initial step would not have been possible without the generous funding from the SEAI and the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, and we are exceedingly grateful for their support. ”

Bexblah Beauty This page is sponsored by Munster Robes & Kitchens

HELLO MY BEAUTIFUL FRIENDS! I HOPE YOU’RE ALL HAVING AN AMAZING WEEK. Last Friday evening I attended a Clarins event with Triona McCarthy in CH Chemists and WOW!! It was easily one of the best events I have been to in ages, the atmosphere was fantastic, Triona was HILARIOUS and there was so much useful information given out on the night. It’s great to see such successful events happening in Tralee, and especially events that don’t feel like one big sales pitch. I was chatting with Triona afterwards, she’s SO lovely and easy to talk to. CH did such a fab job with the event and I will definitely be attending another!

PRODUCT OF THE WEEK! Huda Beauty Faux Filter Foundation If you follow me on Instagram(and watch my insta stories) you already know that I am absolutely LOVING this foundation. Like, LOVING! It’s definitely a full coverage foundation so all of my full coverage queens out there, this one is for you! I have been trying it out for the past two weeks now, wearing it alone, with primer, mixing it with other foundations, setting it different ways, using it on clients, and I haven’t found one problem with it. It wears beautifully on the skin, doesn’t feel or look heavy or caked and works so well with other products. You literally only need one pump for the entire face, no lie. The only skin type I haven’t used it on is very dry skin so I wouldn’t be able to recommend it for that skin type yet as I have not tried it on dry skin. It’s reasonably priced at 35 euro, has 30 shades available(there is a foundation guide on hudabeauty.com to find your perfect match) it’s available at Brown Thomas instore & online and at CultBeauty.co.uk. I have 3 shades, Shortbread 200B - for me when I’m super pale Latte 300N - More of a warm shade Tres Leche 320g -Perfect for tan (Similar to Mac NC30) I would definitely recommend this if you love full coverage or are looking for a new night time foundation! To see more beauty ramblings, makeup tutorials, product recommendations etc follow my Instagram @bexblah

I hope you all have an amazing week!

BEXBLAH

FITNESS!

HELLO MY STRONG STRONG FRIENDS! I HOPE YOU’RE ALL HAVING A GREAT WEEK. This week I just wanted to talk about the time of year we’re at currently. This time of year is a tricky one with regards to fitness and health, summer is over and Christmas is coming… It’s very easy to say “Feck it I’ll take my eye off the ball now and relax a bit until January”, basically the old story of my life! But, there’s just over 10 weeks until Christmas, yes I said it. Imagine what you could do in 10 weeks? Imagine having a 10 week headstart on yourself! Literally every single time I put off getting serious about my diet and fitness regime I regretted it, I would say “why didn’t I just start 2 months ago instead?”. Another thing, why wait til Monday? Monday is just a day. If you really want to get healthy/loose fat/gain muscle why not

start as soon as possible?! Who cares what day it is! If you’re going to put it off til Monday, you’re probably going to keep pushing the Monday back further and further, Monday will actually be the symbol of your procrastination rather than anything else. Just do it - there’s a reason that’s one of the world’s biggest brands trademarks. And trust me, I know. It’s 1000 percent easier said than done… But once you want it and want to do it for you and you only, the rest comes easy.

There are SO many health and fitness facilities in Tralee to suit absolutely everyone, so get out there and find the one for you.

On another note, I have a “Less Guilty Cookies” recipe for you all this week! I tried them this week and I would highly recommend. I got this recipe from ChocolateCoveredKatie.com, check out the website she has so many recipes!! • • • • • • • • • •

oat flour (140g) 1/4 tsp salt 1/2 tsp baking soda 4 tbsp coconut sugar (brown sugar or sucanat will also work) 4 tbsp xylitol or evaporated cane juice (white sugar will also work) 1/4 to 1/3 cup chopped macadamia nuts (or walnuts) 3 tbsp to 1/2 cup chocolate chips (Throw in a big handful. I never bother to measure.) 1 tsp pure vanilla extract 2 tbsp vegetable or melted coconut oil 3-5 tbsp milk of choice, as needed

Instructions Healthy Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe: Preheat oven. Combine all dry ingredients and mix very well. Add wet, and form into a big ball. Now make little balls from the big one. For soft cookies, refrigerate until cold (otherwise, just bake right away). Bake 7 minutes, or until they’ve spread out and look just a little undercooked. Remove from oven when they’re still a little undercooked, then it’s important to let cookies cool at least 10 minutes before trying to remove from tray, as they’ll continue to cook while cooling. For soft cookies, store in a lidded plastic container. For crispy cookies, store in a lidded glass container.

Rebecca Any gym supplements that I use I get from MyProtein. I love their whey protein, favourite flavours are, Salted Caramel, Chocolate Brownie and Vanilla!

MISSED A CALL FROM A +231 NUMBER? THIS IS WHY YOU SHOULDN’T PHONE THEM BACK Kerry people have been warned about a new phone scam that could end up costing them a fortune. Many people all over Ireland have said they are getting missed calls from numbers with the international dial codes +231 (Liberia) or +235 (Chad). The calls usually only last for a couple of rings and generally happen either during the night or early in the morning, reportedly so that people may be concerned that it urgent. This is known as the Premium CallBack scam, as anyone who rings the number will be charged a premium number. ComReg has issued the following advice: • Avoid answering calls from numbers that you cannot identify, especially if you are not expecting a call. • Hang up immediately, on calls where there appears to be no recipient on the other end. • Be wary of multiple calls being received from the same number. • Do not call back any number that leaves you a blank voicemail message. • Do not provide any personal information for example – banking details/PPS number/credit card details/name and address/passport number etc.

KNOW YOUR RIGHTS: ONLINE SHOPPING AND IMPORT CHARGES Question I want to do some of my Christmas shopping on American websites. What are the rules about VAT and customs duties when shopping outside the EU? Answer You are importing goods if you buy goods from abroad online or from a mail order catalogue, or if you get goods that are sent as a gift from abroad. In general, when goods are imported into Ireland from a country outside of the EU, they become liable to import charges. These include VAT, customs duty and excise or other duties where relevant. In some cases, you can get relief from import charges. If someone sends you a gift from outside the EU, and it is valued at under €45, you do not have to pay customs duty or VAT. To qualify for this relief, the gift must be of an occasional nature and sent from one private individual to another. You can buy some goods from outside the EU up to a value of €22 without paying VAT. The value is calculated on the full value of the item, plus postage and duties. This is also the value that is used to calculate VAT, if it is payable. If you buy goods from outside the EU valued at more than €150, you will have to pay customs duty as well. Customs duty is normally calculated as a percentage of the full value of the goods including the cost of postage, packaging and insurance. VAT, customs duty and excise duty are always charged on excisable products (such as alcohol, tobacco and perfume) from outside the EU, whatever their value. All packages received from outside of the EU require a customs declaration, which is usually completed by the sender. The declaration should include a description of the goods, the value and whether they are gifts or commercial items. Some websites offer to undervalue your goods to avoid import charges. This is illegal. You, as the importer of the goods, are responsible for ensuring that the information provided is accurate and that all duties and taxes are paid. Some websites may also promise delivery from within the EU, which would eliminate any import charges, but are in fact shipping their products from outside the EU. If this is the case, you are liable to duties and VAT.

LAUGHTER ....THE BEST MEDICINE ! DONALD TRUMP SOMEHOW MAKES IT TO THE PEARLY GATES

After a long life, and a tumultuous presidency, Donald J Trump dies and arrives at the Gates of Heaven, where he sees a huge wall of clocks behind him. He asks an angel, “What are all those clocks?” The angel answers, “Those are Lie-Clocks. Everyone on Earth has a Lie-Clock. Every time you lie the hands on your clock will move.” “Oh,” says Trump, “whose clock is that?” “That’s Washington’s clock. The hands have never moved, indicating that he never told a lie.” “Tremendous” says Trump. “And whose clock is that one?” The angel responds, “That’s Abraham Lincoln’s clock. The hands have moved twice, telling us that Abe told only two lies in his entire life.” “So, where’s my clock?” Asks Trump “Oh, your clock is in God’s office. He’s using it as a ceiling fan.”

IN CLASS ONE DAY, MR. JOHNSON PULLED JOHNNY OVER TO HIS DESK AFTER A TEST, AND SAID, “Johnny I have a feeling that you have been cheating on your tests.” Johnny was astounded and asked Mr. Johnson to prove it. “Well, said Mr. Johnson, I was looking over your test and the question was, ‘Who was our first president?’, and the little girl that sits next to you, Mary, put ‘George Washington,’ and so did you.” “So, everyone knows that he was the first president.” “Well, just wait a minute,” said Mr. Johnson. “The next question was, ‘Who freed the slaves?’ Mary put Abraham Lincoln and so did you.” “Well, I read the history book last night and I remembered that,” said Johnny. “Wait, wait,” said Mr. Johnson. 42

“The next question was, ‘Who was president during the Louisiana Purchase?’ Mary put ‘I don’t know,’ and you put, ‘Me neither’.”

THERE WAS A PREACHER WHO FELL IN THE OCEAN AND HE COULDN’T SWIM.

When a boat came by, the captain yelled, “Do you need help, sir?” The preacher calmly said “No, God will save me.” A little later, another boat came by and a fisherman asked, “Hey, do you need help?” The preacher replied again, “No God will save me.” Eventually the preacher drowned and went to heaven. The preacher asked God, “Why didn’t you save me?” God replied, “Fool, I sent you two boats!”

STEVE AND HIS BUDDIES WERE HANGING OUT AND PLANNING AN UPCOMING FISHING TRIP

Unfortunately, he had to tell them that he couldn’t go this time because his wife wouldn’t let him. After a lot of teasing and name calling, Steve headed home frustrated. The following week when Steve’s buddies arrived at the lake to set up camp, they were shocked to see Steve. He was already sitting at the campground with a cold beer, swag rolled out, fishing rod in hand, and a camp fire glowing. “How did you talk your missus into letting you go Steve?” “I didn’t have to,” Steve replied. “Yesterday, when I left work, I went home and slumped down in my chair with a beer to drown my sorrows because I couldn’t go fishing. Then the ol’ lady Snuck up behind me and covered my eyes and said, ‘Surprise’. When I peeled her hands back, she was standing there in a beautiful see through negligee and she said, ‘Carry me into the bedroom, tie me to the bed and you can do whatever you want,’ So, Here I am!” Know any funny Jokes? TORQUING CARS! TOKYO MOTOR SHOW 2017 ROUND-UP: THE BEST (AND STRANGEST) VEHICLES FROM THE WILDEST CAR EVENT IN THE WORLD

It’s now technically tomorrow in Japan, meaning that the opening day of the Tokyo Motor Show happened yesterday. Confused? Us too - We’ve shared our favourite cars from the event on this page, . Tokyo is probably our favourite auto salon in the world for spectacular show cars, and 2017 has not disappointed

TOYOTA CENTURY

This is one of the rarest moments in Japanese car making: the Century, Toyota’s limousine for senior politicians and the Imperial Family, is being renewed. Named after the century of Toyota founder Sakichi Toyoda, the first Century model was introduced in 1967. That lasted 30 years and it’s a measure of this ultra-conservative sub-brand that the outgoing model is 21 years old. This, the third-generation Century is, like the previous model, deeply traditional, ugly as a barn door and spacious but simple - there’s only one option, leather or fabric upholstery. Gone is the Mk 2’s V12 engine, replaced by a V8 hybrid driveline, although Masato Tanabe, the chief programme engineer, says the new drivetrain is smoother.

HONDA DREAM GO PROJECT

Coming under the heading of ‘weird, other,’ is the Dream Go Project, a sort of battery-powered ice cream stand that follows you around talking to you. Honda says it could be used a mobile coffee stall, though it doesn’t look powerful enough to power a decent Gaggia. It could be a DJ mixing desk, a mobile hair dressing salon or just something to amuse the dog. With only two cars of note on its stand, one of which we’ve seen already, you get the feeling Honda designers should be concentrating on the main event a bit more.

SUZUKI E-SURVIVOR

We’re still waiting on a definite answer as to exactly when Suzuki will replace its charming if utterly basic off-roader, the diminutive Jimny. But what if it looked like this? The Suzuki e-Survivor is a concept for a futuristic SUV powered with four in-wheel electric motors and a battery pack. Apparently it will also be capable of autonomous driving, but there’s so little of it, it’s difficult to see where all the control computers would go.Besides, this twoseater still has a steering wheel and a set of conventional controls. It is built on a ladder frame, like the Jimny, though it’s a bigger vehicle all round. It’s highly unlikely to be made, but you never quite know with Suzuki; that’s what they said about the hideous X90, but they still went ahead and built it.

TOYOTA AUTO BODY WONDER-CAPSULE CONCEPT

Toyota Auto Body is the Japanese giant’s commercial arm so somewhere in this thing is probably a delivery role, though it’s difficult to find. At 2.5 metres long (it’s pictured above) the two-seat Wonder-Capsule has been designed in conjunction with the Anrealage clothing company of Japan, which perhaps explains the glow-in-the-dark interior. Or perhaps not. All the instrument functions are displayed on the vertical windscreen and it’s powered by a 6kWh lithium-ion battery which supplies current to a 8kW/55Nm electric motor driving the rear wheels. It’s also just perfect.

CAR ADVICE WITH HONEST JOHN – YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED Road to no air The air-con on my 2010 Renault Clio has failed. Is this an easy job to fix and will it cost me a fortune? JC HJ.....It might need a re-gas, it might be the compressor clutch or else a holed condenser. There’s no quick, easy answer. Get it to an air-con specialist rather than a Renault garage.

FAI NATIONAl P.R.O. OF THE YEAR RAHILLY’S MAKE COUNTY FINAL DAY A GOOD ONE:

While Tralee people might have hoped that there would have been a side from the town in the big game last Sunday on Garvey’s County Final day it did not turn out the way. After the season it was Kerin’s O’Rahilly’s who were playing on the day but in a relegation play-off. One has to question the system that has been voted in that sees a club that got within a point of the County final ending up in a battle to keep their senior status because of two bad results a number of months ago. It seems that District Teams are sacrosanct and even if don’t perform they will still be able to take part again the following year. Not so for clubs – or for the club that might go through a bad patch. But then there are only 8 senior clubs as against around 70 from the other levels – intermediate and junior and novice. So it will not be easy for the senior clubs to change the structure. But these clubs at the other levels it should be a case of be careful of what you vote for. If strong teams like Kilcummin – who have lost their senior status for the first time in 20 years – or Kerins O’Rahilly’s drop down it surely makes it harder for Intermediate clubs to win that title which now thanks to Sean Kelly can lead to a day out in Croke Park! However that’s for another time – this week we congratulate Rahilly’s on getting things right in their mind and right on the field and taking the win and we give them the honour of publishing their match report. Here is the Kerins O’Rahilly’s Match Report in full: It took a display of guts, heart and endurance to ensure we retained our senior status when defeating Kilcummin 2-12 to 1-10 in the curtain raiser to the county senior final played in Austin Stack Park today.

TRALEE ADVERTISER

The scheduling of the game in taking place prior to the county final was in itself painful just two weeks after we lost the semi- final by a point to South Kerry - it was a test of our mental state as much as of our intestinal fortitude and must have been a source of much worry for management in the past two weeks. The loss of key players like Tommy Walsh, John Ferguson and Karl Mullins placed an additional burden on the squad but in a tense and oft times nervy game we finally came good in the second half when outscoring Kilcummin by 1-08 to 0-06. The game’s opening score fell to Kilcummin when former county keeper Brendan Kealy came up from his defence to land a fine score and they quickly added another from the boot of Noel Duggan to leave them two ahead before we had our first score from a Jack Savage free on the 8th minute. We added another from Barry John shortly afterwards but Kilcummin seemed to be that bit sharper in the tackle and led 0-04 to 0-02 after 20 minutes we after we had kicked 3 wides from play and frees. The first big moment of the game arrived in the 23rd minute when following a sweeping movement up field involving Padraig Griffin and Tommy Begley, Barry John was hauled down in the square as he was about to shoot - the referee correctly awarded the penalty but kept his cards in his pocket when it looked a black card offence - Jack placed his shot low to his left but Brendan Kealy was equal to the effort and pulled off a fine save - Jack made amends shortly after when firing over from a free but as the half time whistle approached we were caught napping in defence and Kevin McCarthy stole in to find the corner of Gary Kissane’s net . This was a real body blow but we recovered just as quickly and when the ball found its way to Barry John 13 metres from goal he hammered his shot to the left corner giving Kealy no chance - half time saw the sided tied @ 1-04 apiece. We resumed with the breeze to our backs but again Kilcummin were first to break away and notched two quick points; however we were now winning the battle around the middle with David Moran outstanding, and we raised 4 white Friday 27th October 2017

flags without reply to lead 1-08 to 1-06 after 38 minutes - Barry John with 3 ( one a real beauty from the stand side) and Jack Savage from a free. Kilcummin reduced the deficit to the minimum again but Jack pushed us two clear and further scores from Barry John and Rory Molloy ( in as a sub) had us 1-11 to 1-07 in front with 13 minutes remaining. Again Kilcummin responded and we led by two, 1-12 to 1-10 with 7 minutes remaining. Then a sideline ball from Jack landed in the square and Gavin O’Brien out jumped everybody to flick the ball to the net thus ending the game as a contest. This was to be the final score despite 5 additional minutes of play and we saw out the game in convincing fashion which will see us once again play in the senior county championship in 2018. Well done to the team, management and all our supporters - we have made sound progress this year, the younger members of the squad have gained valuable experience in big games and seeing South Kerry just fail by two points to Dr Crokes shows where we are in the pecking order - this year’s experience can be the corner stone for 2018 and beyond and the future looks very bright. The Rest of the GAA News: RAHILLY’S NOTES: The Junior Blues and their supporters enjoyed a very successful canal walk and thanks all those who participated, contributed and helped out. Congratulations to Luca Fusco and Fayth Efegbare who were the winners of the €50 vouchers. Camogie 2017 Review: A dedicated group of Tralee Parnells Camogie mentors gathered last week to review the very busy year we had in 2017 and to plan ahead for the further growth we expect in 2018. Management structures are shaping up well for most are groups, with even stronger numbers of players anticipated for the coming season. Parnells 2017 Awards Night: The awards night for our hurling and camogie teams will take place on Friday the 17th November in the Rose Hotel from 7 pm. Stacks led 1-03 to 0-03 at half time. The second half was equally as exciting with the Stacks taking the Cup in the end on a 3-04 to 2-04 score-line. Martin O’Regan presented the Bracker O’Regan Cup to Austin Stacks captain Michael Cotter. The John Cotter Competition for the u10’s takes place this Sunday from 10am to 2.30pm. The Church Gate collection this Sunday is in Abbeydorney / Kilflynn. BALLYMAC NOTES: There was no winner of the Lotto from the numbers drawn 12,13,16 and 19 and the next jackpot will be e2000. The Under 16 Ladies went the way of Abbeydorney 5-09 to 2-11 after two periods of extra time. The girls did have opportunities to win it in normal time but the North Kerry side were the more clinical in extra time. The u14 girls also played Abbeydorney in their North Kerry Division 1 League final. The visitors led by 8 points at half time but the home side fought back bravely and levelled the matters at the end of full time. Two periods of extra time could not separate the sides and in the end it was Abbeydorney that needed a late late point for the draw and the two sides will have to meet again. The club congratulates club member Barry Lyons who was 4th Official at last Sunday’s County Senior final and Tomas O’Connor who played for Ireland in the Hurling / Shinty International in Scotland. KERRY SCHOOLBOYS SUBWAY INTER LEAGUE AND ETP NEWS: Kerry go down to Cork in 15’s opener: Kerry opened their Subway 15’s Inter League campaign with a 2-0 loss away to Cork. They were the only Kerry representatives on the squad and both player in Friday night’s 2-2 draw with Ulster. Munster then defeated Connacht 5-3 but David was forced off after 85 minutes with a calf strain that kept him out of their 4-1 loss to Leinster. Aaron came on at half time in this game. In the end Ulster beat Connacht 4-2 to take the title. HENNESSY TO TAKE CHARGE OF THE OSCAR TRAYNOR SIDE: The Kerry District League have announced the David Hennessy will take charge of this year’s Oscar Traynor team. St Brendan’s / Oakpark Community Games AGM: St Brendan’s / Oakpark Community games are holding a very important EGM on November 8th in Kerins O’Rahillys. Disappointingly a committee for the New Year was not formed at the recent AGM and failure to do so at the EGM will have serious consequences going forward as the area will not be represented in next year’s competitions. Hopefully parents of children that are hoping to take from the area will attend and put their names forward.
