WCI WCI Ltd is an established business who offer a personal, bespoke approach to commercial construction and refurbishment. We pride ourselves on our ability to understand our clients’ needs and utilise our wealth of experience and expertise on every project and advise on site suitability and feasibility. Our Directors, Kevin Johnston and Steve Cadman started their partnership 16 years ago and have over 60 years of combined experience in the building and refurbishment of offices, education establishments, factories, shops and leisure facilities. Both Directors fully immerse themselves in all projects from the design phase to the completion stage, consistently providing a professional, reliable service. The WCI team has been strengthened by the appointment of Robert Spurgeon as Operations Director, who joined the company 12 years ago and became a

Director in 2017. Robert has helped develop and grow the business by enhancing our services and customer journey.

Our history of repeat clients is evident through our professional, high-quality and customer satisfaction values that are at the heart of WCI. Case Study 1

Tony LeVoi Vauxhall Showroom Romford Client Project Architect Project Period Project Value

Tony LeVoi Vauxhall Bisset Adams 8 months £1,500,000

This project was completed from the ground up, with the complete design and build fit-out of the brand new Vauxhall Showroom in Romford. The stunning new showroom and offices were built on a beam and pad foundation with a steel frame and curtain walling, creating the perfect setting to feature Vauxhall motors and for staff to interact with clients in an open, relaxed environment with featured lighting and air conditioning. In addition to the new showroom area we were also involved with the refurbishment works to the existing first floor offices and the ground floor parts department, service reception and additional workshops.


All areas were stripped out and refurbished into two new welfare canteens, parts store, a new boardroom and data room.


Case Study 2

Crown House, Crown Street Ipswich Client Commercial Estates Project Architect Dovetail Project Period 26 weeks Project Value £2,000,000 We worked on and completed this stunning project, designing and building a new entrance extension as well as refurbishments to common areas and offices in Ipswich, Suffolk. The project included designing a new steel skeletal frame structure to create a light and inviting corporate reception area to the building.

Feature bulkheads and coffers were formed with strip LED lighting to cleverly conceal air conditioning units. Impressive luxury finishes included a polished plaster feature wall, decorative pendant lighting and a bespoke Corian and aged brass reception desk.


In conjunction with the major re-modelling of the reception area we also completed the refurbishment of the common areas, toilets to four floors and offices throughout the building. Crown House now has vibrant and dynamic spaces which are full of character.


Case Study 3

57 - 63 Church Road Wimbledon Client Marchmont Project Architect Helme & Partners Project Period 12 weeks Project Value £785,000 We secured the contract for a design and build project for the interior and exterior refurbishment of an office development in the heart of Wimbledon Village. The project involved the complete strip out of internal walls and finishes over three floors, including the re-fit of new finishes to remodel these offices into bright, fresh and open spaces.

We were also involved in the M&E design for the project, including new heating, lighting and AC installation.


Bespoke glazed screens and conservation paving were used to create a quadrangle on the first floor. A beautiful outside space for some fresh air.


Case Study 4

Shopping Centre WC’s Brent Cross Client Hammerson Ltd Project Architect Workman Project Period 9 weeks Project Value £850,000 Works on this project involved the complete strip out of male and female WC areas in addition to disabled and baby changing areas. We refurbished the newly stripped out areas with new cubicle installation as well as the associated M&E services, including the electrical installation of LED modular lighting and LED feature lighting to the mirrors and wash troughs. The aim was to create very high quality and modern WC facilities for our client. We achieved this by using high specification glass cubicles and panelling, along with high standard infra-red wash stations, porcelain tiles to the walls and floors and solid stone wash troughs throughout.


As part of the contracted works we created two disabled WC areas including complete re-configuration in order to comply with Part M of building regulations.


Case Study 5

Curzon Street London Client BMO Real Estate Partners Surveryor MGP Shreeves LLP Architect Hale Brown Architects Project Period 15 weeks Project Value £830,000 Works on this project involved office refurbishment to the first, second and fourth floors. The project consisted of new office fit-out and decoration, supply and install of new furniture to the fourth floor, new toilets and shower area, a new air conditioning system, new electrics and lighting, installation and refurbishment of parquet flooring and new MF ceilings. In addition to the office refurbishment, we also completely refurbished the reception and common area staircase and assisted with external decorations to the front and rear.


We also helped with the major overhaul of the existing lift within the property.


Case Study 6

Capital City College Group Malborough & CBAT Buildings Islington Client Capital City College Group Surveyor/ Project Manager Wellesley Construction Services Limited Project Period 6 weeks Project Value £510,000 This short project involved the office remodelling and refurbishment of both Marlborough House and CBAT Buildings. The fit-out consisted of demolition to internal walls and ceilings, creation of a brand new office layout and internal decoration.

New doors, partitions and screens were added along with new staff kitchen facilities, new air conditioning, a new fire alarm system, renewal of electrics and the addition of suspended ceilings.



Case Study 7

Newham College of Further Education Stratford Campus Client Newham College of Further Education Surveryor/ Project Manager Wellesley Construction Services Limited Project Period 6 weeks Project Value £205,000 Works on this project consisted of new roof works to engineering block work shops, addition of liquid applied membrane roofing and alterations to roof outlets and rainwater pipes. Other works included re-routing power supplies and installing new lighting, power, data and suspended ceilings. In addition we also completed internal decorations including adding new floor finishes and carpentry works.


We undertook the refurbishment and fit-out to joinery workshops and the mortar batching room.


Case Study 8

Unit 3, Trident Industrial Estate Hoddesdon Client Royal London Asset Management Surveyor/ Project Manager HartDixon Project Period 10 weeks Project Value £300,000 This project consisted of the refurbishment of a commercial unit on an industrial estate in Hoddesdon. The works included a total roof replacement, exterior cladding and window replacement and all new heating and electrics.


As well as external refurbishment, internal works consisted of refurbishment and decoration of the offices and toilets and redecoration of the factory floor.


Case Study 9

Peacock Theatre London Client LSE - Peacock Theatre Surveyor/ Project Manager Mortimer Isaacs Consultants Project Period 4 weeks Project Value £100,000 Our involvement in this project included the refurbishment of the dress and stalls bar areas. We sanded and polished the floor to the dress bar and added a whole new floor to the stalls bar. Brand new lighting was added to both areas as well as new internal decorations.



Case Study 10

Newham 6th Form College Newham Client/Surveyor/ Project Manager Newham 6th Form College Project Period 6 weeks Project Value £150,000 Works of this project involved the refurbishment of the Old Library Building at Newham 6th Form College. We completed a lot of work in the short project period including stripping out the space ready for the construction of stud partition walls to form new office space.

Other works included installation of new LED lighting, as well as floor to ceiling glazing panels and screens and installation of suspended ceilings.


Internal decoration consisted of new ceiling tiles, carpets, doors and ironmongery and the decoration of coloured feature walls.


Case Study 11

Lancashire Court Mayfair Client HartDixon on behalf of their client Royal London Project Period 12 months Project Value £575,000 This complete refurbishment of an old property, resulted in two beautiful, two-bedroom apartments above a first-floor retail space. Quality was of the utmost importance throughout to fit in with Mayfair’s renowned reputation. Included in the refurbishment was a new kitchen and bathrooms with high-quality joinery throughout the residential units and a new shop frontage to the retail area. Due to the size of the rooms and the government restrictions regarding the pandemic, it meant we were only able to have two employees on the site at one time, causing the completion time to extend further than we had hoped.


We carried out this renovation on behalf of our client, HartDixon, a building surveyors who were fulfilling the wishes of their client, Royal London, who own the property.
