DEAR GREEN VALLEY WELL-WISHERS GREETINGS IN THE NAME OF OUR LORD SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST. RELATIONSHIPS : When we think about relationship the first thing comes in our mind is Husbands and wives; brothers and sisters; dads, moms and children; cousins; best friends and even business associates these are the types of relationships in the world. One day I asked my friend about relationship then he once told me that relationships are most important and the more you cultivate relationships the better they become.

He said that it like a garden it takes work to make a relationship grow and last forever.

The first relationships on earth are recorded in the first book of the Bible, Genesis. That is the relationship betweenGod to man and then the relationship of man to animals and ultimately the relationship of husband and wife (The beginning of the family life). In fact, the entire Bible paints a picture of God’s tremendous love for His children on the earth. He gave his only begotten Son, Jesus so that everyone might have a new relationship in the family of God’s grace through faith. When we know Jesus, a good relationship with Him will sustain us through all other earthly relationships because it is the only relationship that is guaranteed for all of eternity.

Below are some relationships: 1. A RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN HUSBAND AND WIFE: The Relationship between husband and wife is so great because when you look into the bible Genesis 2:18-25 it says “Then the LORD God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.” Now out of the ground the LORD God had formed every beast of the field and every bird of the heavens and brought them to the man to see what he would call them.And whatever the man called every living creature that was its name. The man gave names to all livestock and to the birds of the heavens and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper fit for him. So the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and while he slept took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh. And the rib that the LORD God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man. Then the man said, “This at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.” Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed”. By reading this I think that there is no other relation break this relation on this earth because this relationship has single soul and two different bodies.

If we see Ephesians 5:25, 32 “Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her… This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church”.There is the small relation between wife and church here husband is the Christ and wife is the church so the wife should obey her husband.

In Ephesians 5:23, 24 say “For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Saviors. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands”. So finally I say that a man who get good wife leads a good life, because when I read Proverbs 31:10,11 it says “An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels. The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain”.

2. A RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PARENTS AND CHILDREN: When we come to this type of relation this is the first relation made on earth after

downfall of Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden.

This is the sweet relation on earth because no one knows that God had made them, they think that her mother and father are there makers. We can see when we get any wound or when we fall down the love of mother is seen because in Psalms 127:3 it says“Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward”. I think no one will feel happy when our loving ones or dear one’s get hurt. And for Children I want to say that love your parents because Exodus 20:12 says “Honour your father and your mother that your days may be long in the land that the LORD your God is giving you”.so Honour your father and your mother, as the LORD your God commanded you, that your days may be long. Below are the some words which helps you to understand this relationship.

1. Deuteronomy 5:16 Honour your father and your mother, as the LORD your God commanded you, that your days may be long, and that it may go well with you in the land that the LORD your God is giving you.

2. Leviticus 19:3 Every one of you shall revere his mother and his father, and you shall keep my Sabbaths: I am the LORD your God. 3. Proverbs 31:28-31 Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.” Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her works praise her in the gates.

4. Malachi 1:6 A son Honours his father, and a servant his master. If then I am a father, where is my Honour? And if I am a master, where is my fear? Says the LORD of hosts to you, O priests, who despise my name. But you say, ‘How have we despised your name?’

5. John 19:26, 27 When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, “Woman, behold, your son!” Then he said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother!” And from that hour the disciple took her to his own home 6. Ephesians 6:1-3 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.

“Honour your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise), “that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.”.

3. A RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN GOD AND HUMAN: This Relationship is the Greatest relation in the universe because the relation is about sprits of us and we all know that God loved us and sent his only begotten son for our sins so we have to think that how much he love us and he care for us. I can say you that this is the best relationship ever tested. In John 3:16 it says "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life". As we see in old testament God used to make friendship with Adam and he use to care for him till he get another relation. In the life of Abharam God use to promise and he use to fulfill it and like that this type of relationship was going till now between God and human in the form of praise and worship and God use to bless them so dear friends I encourage everyone to maintain relationship with God and be blessed.

As we come to school, we are great contrast in the people we meet.

Some are obviously well-off; while others are poor. Some enjoy luxury; others have to struggle for their day to day existence. Some live in grand houses, others in miserable huts-in the slums.

In Society, the rich man enjoys high status; the poor man is often despised and neglected. The well-off have better jobs; the poor man often cannot get one. Even when he is skilled and willing to work. Many times the poor man is a pray to injustice of many kinds. He is forced to take up any work even though it does not suit him. He has to be satisfied with a wage that is not enough to support him. He is often forced to work in conditions that are dangerous to his health. He has to face the insecurity that comes from the constant threat of dismissal which could leave him without any means of support for himself or his family.

In the same conditions we find another group; the domestic servants who have no trade unions to support them, but work for longer hours than other workers. They are often shouted at and also receive scanty wages.

They are denied self respect and human dignity.There are many more victims of force and injustice if we look around us.

CHURCH TEACHING :Concerning this the primitive church has set guide lines to be followed. In estimating a just wage, not one consideration alone but many must be taken into account.The wage paid to the working man must be taken into account.

Working man must be sufficient for his own support and of his family. A just wage must be determined according to justice and equality. This requires that workers should be paid a wage which allows them to live a truly human life and to face up with dignity to their family responsibilities.These concerns uphold the desire of employees and help to participate actively in the management of enterprises in which they are employed.

WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS :The Prophets of the O.T. denounced injustice to the poor.

ISAIAH 10:1-2; 5:23; 1:23 :“woe to the ligislators of infamous laws to those who issue tyranical decrees who refuse justice to the unfortunate and cheat the poor among my people of their rights, who make widows their prey and rob the orphan.”

Amos 2:7; 8:4; Micah 2:2; 5:12 :“The have told the virtous man for silver and the poor man for a pair of sandals; they trample on the heads of ordinary people and push the poor out of their path.”

When Christ speaks of those who suffer from poverty and wretchedness, He declares that He has come to receive their misery to set them free. If we read (Luke 4:16-21) we can see clearly that Christ explains His mission. He has sent me...to set free the oppressed.” The clear contrast in the parable of Christ on the rich man and the poor man at his gate also brings out the reward of those who suffer and those who have thier fill in this world. (Lk. 16:19-31).

We in turn have also to become prophets by becoming aware of the injustice around us, by condemning it and seeking a remedy. This may seem impossible in our country now when misery and injustice are ever on the increase.We may become immuse to this or we may ask ourselves how it is possible to solve such a vast problems. We can join in the slogan GARIBHI HATTAO; We would show our concern for the poor and suffering and not despise them. We would promote justice in our surrounding schools and neighbourhood. Above all we can be alive to the needs of others.

“Recall the face of the poorest and the most helpless man whom you have seen and ask yourself if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him. Will he be able to gain anything by it? Will it restore him to control over his own life and destiny?”

“The war against poverty and despiration begins at home but it must not end there. Both ware must be won. Both problems must be solved.” (It the Person reports) REFLECTION :I am an ordinary human being. I am naturally used to being selfish, concerned about myself. Christ wants me to open my eyes to widen my horizons to be concerned about not just my problems or even those of my immediate neighbours as individuals. He has sacrificed himself for all men. On the cross He spread his arms to embrace the world. I can no longer limit my concern to my own petty problems. I must be concerned about and do whatever I can to help in my area, my town, my country, the world.

Conduct a Survey in the area where you live regarding the wages and treatment of : 1) Domestic Servants 2) Government Servants 3) Workers in private factories. After the Survey analyse and discuss the results. What can we do about it?

4) Publish the Survey or atleast its main points in the local press.

5) Pay better wages at home.

6) Speak to the people concerned.
