1. Assemble all pieces needed for this process. 2.Using your pattern piece and chalk, mark the dart position onto the wrong side of the fabric. If the fabric piece is one of a pair, transfer markings to both pieces of fabric. 3. Fold the fabric down the middle of the dart. 4. Sew the dart shape. Backtack at the start to secure the threads. 5. Run off the end of the dart leaving the thread to wind around itself. Trim excess threads. The bottom threads are self secured by the twisting action of the stitching. 6. Press the dart towards the centre front or centre back. 7. Waist dart (wrong side).
