Editor's Note
YOU's 10th Anniversary on Women's Day HAPPY 10th, YOU Newsletter! The idea of this newsletter project started on February 2011 when I was a college student. It was part of the English Journalism Club in Dar Al Hekma University.

After graduation in 2013, I took off my solo journey into the media industry by making this newsletter available to the public. Meanwhile, I tried creating a good social media presence. Working hard on building an identity, the newsletter's logo went into different development phases. Now it is 2021. It has been ten years since I started this initiative, so it was time to celebrate. It is incredible how ten years can create a massive difference in the life of a project started from scratch. And what's a better day to celebrate than International Women's Day? It is the day we celebrate all great women of the world. I was also pleased to make it happen at the Wall Street English Institute. As for this year's campaign #ChooseToChallenge, I choose to be more self-disciplined and getting things done on my to-do list. In this mini-issue, I want to celebrate women. I celebrate the sister, the daughter, the mother, the aunt and the wife. And most importantly, she is the friend. She is the delicacy of a rose. With her feminine power, she rules the world. In this issue, I tell the story of ten influential women that will inspire you, too.

INSPIRING WOMEN
ISSUE 27- The Special Anniversary
Celebrating Ten Years with
INSPIRING WOMEN In this special anniversary issue, YOU Newsletter chose and ranked ten women influential women in Saudi Arabia.
Raha Moharrak
YOU: What difficulties did you face during your climb? Raha: There are many difficulties that you can face as a climber. My main difficulty was how cold it was, and also, you need to have good mental strength and endurance because of so many long hours of hiking with heavy backpacks. And it isn't easy to overcome these things. So, fighting the mental strength and the pain was tough and how cold it was, of course. Sometimes the fact that it was so far away and the duration ...was extremely taxing.
YOU: How did you feel being the first Saudi women climber to reach Everest Summit? R: I was overwhelmed to know that I was the first. I didn't really realize the depth of what I achieved until I came back, and I saw the amazing support of people and overwhelming positivity. So yeah, it means the world to me.
Raha Moharrak is a young Saudi adventurer and mountain climber. Her love for adventure led her to reach the top of seven summits in the world. Not only that, but she was able to reach the world's highest summit, Everest. That made her become the first-ever Arab woman to climb Mount Everest. This great journey actually took her months to complete. Her motto in life is to live curiously. YOU got the chance to interview her.
It felt like such a great honor to represent my country this way and to present my gender, who I am, and my family, so yeah, it felt like an incredible achievement. I am very lucky to be able to carry this mantel. It's a very very special moment for me. I am very honored honestly.
YOU: During that time, many were against women doing maledominated activities. How do you respond to those who say, "because we are girls, we can’t do it." ? R: Yeah, of course. You have to accept that if you're doing something different...if you were doing something new - adding to that being a woman you will get criticized. You will get criticism. It's a normal part of life. If you get clapping your whole life, and you won't hear negativity, it means you're not doing something big enough or meaningful enough. Being a woman, you get to battle more things than men. But, we aren't built to fit into that ideal, we are far more powerful.
