LOUISE FAIRCLOUGH • PHOTOGRAPHER • UK Living in Wakefield, UK, Louise has been running The Angel Room since 1998, offering holistic therapies to clients in many modalities. She set up Green Man Photography in 2020, combining her love of nature and passion for photography. She hopes to inspire, educate and empower people with all her endeavours.
Copper work was something I came across purely by accident! I joined a beginner’s workshop last year to create copper work for a local sculptor. We had to create two nature based pieces- one for his exhibition and one to take home. I became so engrossed with the process of creating them and decided to do some freehand pieces of my own. I love being creative and nature photography in particular is one of my passions. The copper work took me out of my comfort zone though I found it to be surprisingly easy once I got my head around working with the tools. The four pieces were inspired partly by nature and partly by my own imagination. I wanted to create a broad range of images- a feather, woodland scene, Fly Agaric mushroom and the Green Man. The latter was my favourite due to his detailed features- and he also became the inspiration for my photography business.
