FROM HELL TO HEAVEN How to unfold relational opportunities

In this complex neighbourhood where the past persists through the phisical presence of many relics of industrial archeology, the plan focuses on social partecipation strategies. Some functions have been included: a theater, some sport facilities, an house for elderly people, an internet cafè, a slow food market under multicoloured canopies, a coworking factory in the shape of a parasite like microarchitecture on the abandoned railways bridge.

WE DON’T NEED ANOTHER HERO !!! A fictional world where everybody is the main character

The roof as metaphor of life. A parallel universe where the urban decay dignifies itself. Where the space doesn’t need architecture and people don’t need new heroes.

SHARE A ZONE How a building can be conceived as an evolutionary organism.

This project arises from the consideration that the urban landscape is going to be modified by continuous transformations due to social changings. What if we plan how an intervention should be transformed during the next 25 years and beyond? This project is about designing the change of the landscape.

ON LINE Connect the parts, define the boundary

The main idea is to link disconnected areas around the neighborhoods through a pedestrian path. This intervention could make order in the public space at moment extremely fragmented and disarticulated. Designing the ground use is also another way to give a more clear ierarchy of the spaces. Some new functions are also provided: Startup facilities, Zero Km markets, playground and others to stimultate social interactions.

GREEN CITY Appropriation and customization

Despite the expectation this neighborhood is provided by an interesting amount of green areas beyond the standard. This project focuses on this peculiarity to develop a soustainable strategy of intervention. An intensive garden centre could provide flowers and vegetations to be implanted on vertical facades of the existing building. Also a ceramic laboratory could provides tiles and other basic components to customize balconies and facades.

CASILINO 23 Rechargeable Strategies for renewing

This project aims to reverse the aging process of the neighborhood. The early inhabitants, in fact, has been living in the same apartments since the ‘60. First of all some pavillons can be set at the pilotis level to host social and productive activities. Second the apartments can be changed in size and typologies to match new way of life of yunger generations.

SPINACETO SMART POWER Rethinking Spinaceto as an energy and social power plant

Spinaceto is one of the most interesting among the first piani di zona. It has been considered for a long time a model of urban expansion: well planned, typological concerns, huge green space, all the public area well designed. Our proposal is about activating social interaction with diffuse but minimal interventions.
