CHIMAY - Returning to the roots

NEW LABELS,

A NEW STATEMENT OF IDENTITY

In changing the labels on its beers, the Chimay brewery was determined to reaffirm its full character and give back to its bottles an identity that underlines its origins. This return to our roots is expressed in a sober, elegant style, inspired by 3 clear and considered choices: • Use of the historic Chimay colours Form and gilding is a strong part of Chimay’s history • Red, White and Blue: Strong, pure colours which have identified Chimay beers for many years • An emphasis on Belgian roots and a Trappist identity A modern evolution which strictly respects the history of the Trappist Chimay brewery, giving full expression to the foundation of its beers…

RED

TRIPLE

BLUE

Chimay Red, named “Première”, in a 75 cl bottle, is the oldest of the Chimay beers. It has a lovely coppery colour and a very mild, fruity flavour.

Chimay Triple, the latest product from the abbey, is labelled “Cinq Cents” in bottles of 75 cl. With a golden colour, it offers a rare balance between sweet and bitter.

This beer is also used for washing one of the Chimay cheese, “Chimay à la Rouge”, with which it makes a perfect combination of tastes.

Chimay Triple is a fine companion for Vieux Chimay, a cheese matured in the cellar for 6 to 18 months.

Chimay Bleue which, in large bottles, has been named “Grande Réserve”, is a dark beer with a powerful aroma. Its complex flavours continue to improve as the years pass by. A Chimay cheese, ‘‘Chimay à la Bleue”, is also washed with this beer. Together, they form a perfect harmony of intense flavours.
