Special Message from Brian Paul 2021 was a year to remember, thanks to the generosity and dedication of so many who donated their time and money to help those in need. The USANA Foundation is passionate about making a lasting difference, and with the launch of Garden Towers we empowered families beyond providing a sustainable source of nutritious food—we gave them self-confidence, self-reliance, and hope for a better tomorrow. As you read through our annual report and see how lives have been changed across the globe, I hope you feel the full effect of our efforts. Did you know we have provided over $20,000,000 in food aid to 42 countries since we began in 2012? That’s incredible! I am so proud of the work we are doing and grateful to our USANA Associates who have made it all possible. By the time you read this we will be well into 2022. Our team is excited about the future and the amazing work ahead. If there is anything more we can do to make an impact in the world, please don’t hesitate to reach out—we are more powerful together. Thank you for everything you do in your community and around the world.

Who We Are

Big Impacts Have Small Beginnings

Founded in March 2012, the USANA Foundation— formerly the USANA True Health Foundation—has been changing lives. Our mission is to provide immediate and long-term global food relief for those in severe need. Leading a network of community-driven partnerships, we nourish, equip, and eliminate hunger throughout the world. We’ve provided over 55 million meals in 42 countries. With your generous donations and the global partnerships we’ve built, we’re taking our work to the next level. We support 31 programs, including USANA Kids Eat and Operation Underground Railroad.

Doing More with Less Humanitarian work, monetary and product donations, fundraising projects, collaborations with other nonprofit groups—the USANA Foundation lifts others out of despair, making a substantial difference around the world. Every day, we’re creating real change in the lives of hungry children and families. None of this happens without your support. Your contributions, both time and donations, are critical to our mission’s success. With four ways to give—meals, sustainable programs, USANA nutrition, and service—making a meaningful difference is easier than ever. Plus, we’re unique. USANA Health Sciences, Inc. covers all of our administrative costs, allowing us to use 100 percent of every dollar for charitable purposes. We are dedicated to using our funds wisely and efficiently.

USANA Kids Eat What a year it has been! During 2021 we expanded our programs to more schools, reached some exciting milestones, put on an incredibly successful USANAFest food packing event, and have more sponsors participating than ever before. And we accomplished all this despite global challenges. Since we opened the doors of our new facility in 2019, who would have guessed a pandemic would hit the first month? And we would still be facing this same pandemic almost two years later? Feeding hungry children during a crisis has its own unique challenges—and 2021 was no exception. With disrupted supply chains and rising food costs, the needs of children increased all around us. And together, we’ve stepped up to help. Not only have we delivered weekly food bags, the number of kids we serve through the Weekend Program has increased from 850 to 1,250. That’s 8,750 meals every single weekend! Global USANA Foundation Matching Grant Program Many hands make light work—this ancient proverb still rings true today. And yet, the USANA Foundation can’t be everywhere at once. As part of our mission to feed the world, we tirelessly seek to support like-minded organizations and programs. And we’re excited to highlight our Matching Grant Program. USANA Foundation Ambassadors seek out a local qualifying, nonprofit organization near and dear to them and apply for matching grants to be awarded to this charity. If the organization qualifies, we match every dollar donated up to the approved grant amount, doubling their effort to make a positive impact in their communities—and may even sponsor or further assist these charities. So far, this program has been a great success, funding 28 organizations. In total, we’ve matched over $90,000 since the program began last year. Take a look at these successful partnerships.

Doubling Your Impact

Countless charities are out there accomplishing incredible things to help their communities. They are all around you. You probably already volunteer with them. The USANA Foundation will match every dollar of your donation, up to the approved grant amount. Now, you have the opportunity to double your impact. Start a fundraiser today by visiting usanafoundation.org and a quick and easy application. 24 completing | USANAFoundation.org

World Service Week On June 14, 2021 the USANA family kicked off our sixth annual World Service Week. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a difference in our communities both close to home and around the world. While we all do good deeds when we can, World Service Week pushes us a step further—creating unexpectedly meaningful experiences that touch the soul in surprising, and sometimes life-changing, ways.

Stories of

Real Impact

Families in food-insecure areas are in desperate need for sustainable nutrition. And COVID-19 has created an even bigger urgency— not only in impoverished areas, but in communities worldwide. Thanks to your generosity, we’ve provided meals for families all across the globe. Here are some touching stories of those directly impacted by your contributions.

28 | USANAFoundation.org

Kenya | Planting Seeds of Hope and Independence In 2020, we kicked off our Garden Tower initiative with the Bomet Garden Project. Not only has this project flourished, this year we also expanded to aid more communities in Kenya. Our goal is to provide 500 families with Garden Towers in Bomet, Nkareta, Mara, and other areas over the next six months. Lena has benefited greatly from the garden projects in Bomet. Her physical condition doesn’t allow her to work in her community. And yet she must support and care for her three grandchildren. Late last year, she received a Garden Tower. Since then, the vegetables she’s grown have added three to four meals a week for her and her family. She’s even been able to sell some extra vegetables to buy soup, sugar, and other essential items. Lena once relied entirely on her neighbors. Now, she is an independent and innovative gardener, having learned to conserve water, implement crop rotation, and use natural pest control methods to increase her harvest. Lena is very grateful for our Garden Tower initiative; it has greatly improved her quality of life. “May God bless you, and bless us all,” she says.

Uganda | Nutrition for the Smallest Among Us We donated 150 bottles of nutritional supplements to the Loving Hearts Babies Home. This contribution helps provide a year’s worth of nutritional support for 30 in-care babies. The home manager, Miriam Memoranda, has shared many stories about how this donation has positively impacted the children in the home. One abandoned baby was brought to them with severe symptoms and a lack of appetite. She was taken to Wentz Medical Center for treatment. Back at the home, she was given USANA supplements. With time and great care, her health recovered. A loving family has agreed to foster the child. It has become more difficult to feed and keep babies healthy during the COVID-19 lockdowns in Uganda. Loving Hearts Babies Home is incredibly grateful for this partnership made possible by our donors.

Guatemala | Healthy Food for True Growth Guatemalan Humanitarian Tours has supported nutritional and educational needs for the people of Guatemala for the last nine years. Their nutrition program currently provides 1,000 meals every month to 23 children and 40 volunteers. The children’s mothers volunteer six hours a week preparing the meals, and no food ever goes to waste. Volunteer medical providers began using monthly growth charts for the children at the start of the program. Sadly, they ranked well below average in both height and weight. In just over a year, they have have seen dramatic physical, mental, and emotional growth. The children are thriving and their parents are learning how important healthy food is for the entire family. Our partnership with this program has helped provide 11,310 meals and 20 Garden Towers to be built around participating schools.

China In 2020, we made great strides to create partnerships and provide food, nutrition, and more to the people of China. This year, we’ve continued to foster those relationships and expand our project reach. We’ve contributed to Project Angel Heart to support 760 children with heart disease. We also supported Love Meals to help build 30 school kitchens and give 620,000 nutritious meals to students in rural areas. Canada We continue to proudly support Canadian Feed the Children—an organization that works to advance food security and sovereignty in indigenous communities. This year, we supported them in implementing new health and nutrition programs, distributing food bags on major holidays, and establishing 63 new gardens to provide longterm food and nutrition. We’ve also offered matching grants to Breakfast Club Canada, Colquitz Middle School, and Farm to School.

Mexico We have partnered with One Life to Love in Baja—a women’s shelter working closely with donors to provide a safe and secure place for abused, abandoned, and shattered women and their children. In only three months, they’ve been able to provide 7,284 meals to 25 residents. We continue to support Foundation for His Ministry—a charity, orphanage, and community center that serves 80 children and their families. Our partnerships continue to grow in this region of Mexico where we also provide for schools and orphanages. Recently, we expanded our Garden Tower Initiative to Baja Mexico by planting several garden systems. So far, these gardens have been a great blessing to the mission, a school, and a rehabilitation center. Even more, a matching grant was sponsored by USANA Mexico to aid Cadena de Sonrisas to establish food pantries for 150 families.

36 | USANAFoundation.org

Australia In 2021, storms struck portions of the east coast of Australia. Many families already affected by bush fires and the current pandemic were forced to evacuate. Some communities faced isolation and food and water shortages. We provided emergency relief by sending 40,000 meals to 2,680 affected people. We also donated $20,000 through our continued partnership with the Australia Foodbank to bring an additional 40,000 meals to children and families in need.
