Dear donors and volunteers,
I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for your incredible support and dedication to our sustainable initiatives. Because of your generosity, we’ve been able to help hundreds of thousands of people achieve greater food independence, providing hundreds of millions of meals to families in need. None of this would be possible without the passion and commitment of our donors and the extraordinary volunteers who give their time to work alongside us.
I’ve been fortunate to work alongside many of you in the areas we support and to witness firsthand the profound impact we’re making. On a recent trip to Malapascua, an island in the Philippines, I revisited a community where more than 30 of our donors helped build Garden Towers for 150 families. While I was there, I was warmly greeted by a single mom of four who insisted on preparing a meal with vegetables she had harvested from her Garden Tower. The pride in her eyes was unmistakable—a powerful reminder of how our collective efforts break the cycle of poverty and replace it with self-reliance and hope for the future.
Looking ahead to 2025, I’m filled with excitement for the incredible milestones we’ll achieve together. The generosity of our Chairman’s Club members continues to inspire me, and I’m honored to be connected to such remarkable individuals. Your unwavering support of Dr. Wentz’s vision to create the healthiest family on Earth means the world to me, and it fills me with gratitude and optimism for the future.
Wishing you health, happiness, and continued success. Thank you for being an essential part of this journey with us. Together, we’re transforming lives, building stronger communities, and bringing Dr. Wentz’s vision to life.
With heartfelt appreciation,
Brian Paul

Founded in March 2012, the USANA Foundation changes and empowers lives around the world. Our mission is to develop a network of communities built on long-lasting, sustainable, and nutritious food.

We’ve provided over 112 million meals across 44 countries. Thanks to your generous donations and the global partnerships we’ve built, we’re taking our work to the next level.

Every day, we foster sustainable change in the lives of hungry children and families.
None of this happens without your support. Your contributions, in both time and donations, are critical to our mission’s success.

Through our global partnerships, we empower community leaders with the tools and knowledge to foster sustainable, community-driven food solutions that help communities thrive. These are the main areas we focus on making an impact, and we invite you to join us in our efforts to feed the world.
Meeting urgent needs is the first step in our fight against hunger. Through our immediate food relief programs, we provide meals to families facing hunger crises, giving them the stability they need to plan for a brighter future. This vital support not only alleviates immediate hunger but also lays the groundwork for long-term resilience.
Our Garden Tower program empowers families to grow their own food year-round, fostering independence and self-sufficiency. By teaching sustainable gardening techniques, we enable communities to take control of their food sources, creating lasting change and restoring dignity through self-reliance.
Nutrition is about more than filling bellies—it’s about nourishing minds and bodies. We provide advanced supplements like Usanimals to ensure children receive the essential nutrients they need for healthy development. By enhancing their nutrition, we invest in the potential of every child and build healthier, brighter futures across the globe.
Monthly donations give the USANA Foundation a reliable source of funding, allowing us to consistently support over 40 partners and hundreds of Garden Tower communities worldwide.
When you sponsor a community, you’ll be invited to join a global service trip to Latin America, Africa, or Southeast Asia. Help strengthen our Garden Tower network by building sustainable food systems with local communities.
Community sponsorships empower communities around the world by providing them with the necessary investment of funds, training, and tools to successfully build a Garden Tower network. Sponsorships cost $5,000$25,000 and are typically paid for through USANA team fundraisers or monthly donations.
In 2024, the USANA Foundation advanced its mission to combat malnutrition and promote sustainable food solutions worldwide. Through our annual service trips, donors and partners had the unique chance to see the impact of their contributions firsthand. This year, we expanded our efforts in Mexico, the Philippines, Kenya, and Malaysia, working closely with local communities and volunteers to support sustainable food initiatives.
Our commitment to the communities in Baja California, Mexico, saw us return not just once, but three times in 2024: March, April, and May. Each trip brought together USANA Associates and generous donors from Mexico, the United States, and Canada. Working with our valued partners at the Foundation for His Ministry, our volunteers helped construct and distribute Garden Towers, providing essential nutrition to dozens of families facing food insecurity.
In April, our service trip to the Philippines focused on a new project on Malapascua Island. In partnership with local groups, we began providing every household on the island with a Garden Tower, giving families a sustainable, home-based food source. With limited access to fruits and vegetables, these towers are crucial for improving nutrition. Volunteers and team members worked with community leaders to set up the first towers, bringing fresh, nutritious food to local households and enhancing food security. This project marks a key step in our commitment to building resilient, self-sufficient communities across the Asia-Pacific region.
In May, our team and Chairman’s Club members traveled to Kenya for a meaningful journey combining cultural immersion and service. The trip included a breathtaking safari and empowering hands-on projects, such as building Garden Towers in Bomet, supporting a children’s home in Lugari, and bringing sustainable food solutions to the Maasai Mara tribe. These efforts strengthened food self-reliance and nutritional security. This trip marks the start of an annual tradition, giving Chairman’s Club members the chance to connect with local communities, see the impact of their contributions, and actively support our mission for sustainable nutrition.
In partnership with Humanitarian XP (HXP), we hosted a series of service trips in Malaysia with groups of dedicated teenagers. HXP organizes global service experiences, but this year was extra special: each group had the opportunity to see their project through from start to finish. The teens worked closely with local communities to build and install Garden Towers, experiencing the immediate impact of their efforts and forming lasting connections. This hands-on experience deepened their understanding of sustainable food solutions and the importance of community engagement.
This year, we were excited to take two Utah-based donor families on a service trip to Mexico, marking the first time we’ve included entire families in these experiences. Together, the Hansen and Cowley families had the unique opportunity to build Garden Towers and engage with the communities they helped. It was truly moving to watch parents and children work side by side, sharing meaningful moments and strengthening their bond through service. This experience not only brought them closer as a family but also deepened their connection to our mission of providing sustainable food solutions. We look forward to more opportunities to serve alongside families as we continue making an impact in Mexico.

Beyond providing nutrition, we are deeply committed to education, equipping families with the skills to maximize the potential of their Garden Towers. This empowerment fosters self-sufficiency, restores dignity, and offers hope for a brighter future.
In the following pages, each regional story—from Mexico to the Philippines to Uganda—highlights the transformative power of community-driven solutions. By addressing food insecurity with sustainable practices, these initiatives deliver immediate relief while building resilience and fostering lasting change. Together, we are creating a world where no family goes hungry, and every community has the tools to thrive.
The Garden Tower initiative in Winnipeg has strengthened trust with local communities and nonprofits, providing fresh, sustainable nutrition in a province with some of Canada’s highest poverty rates. Harvest Manitoba noted that the program encouraged recipients to seek additional resources. As Susanne Williams of Women’s Empowerment Outreach explained, “It’s been amazing to see the community’s excitement and stewardship over the gardens, making them accessible to everyone.”
Canadian initiatives also expanded with partners like Richmond Food Bank, The Compass Food Bank, and Harvest Manitoba’s Northern Initiative, which delivers essential supplies to remote First Nations communities. These efforts reach over 15,000 residents in isolated areas, providing staples like grains and frozen produce. Canadian Associates are proud to support these transformative efforts, ensuring nourishment and hope for vulnerable populations.
Through the USANA Kids Eat program, 500 weekend food bags were delivered to the Navajo Nation in Montezuma Creek, in partnership with Building Youth Around the World’s Thanksgiving Box Project. This initiative supported 165 families, providing much-needed nourishment and care.
With more projects planned for 2025, this marks the start of our commitment to supporting indigenous communities and fostering a sustainable impact.
In Baja, Mexico, the effects of reliable food support are vividly evident in stories like that of a 9-month-old boy who was malnourished and abused when our partners met him. Consistent, nutritious meals provided through our program helped transform his life, both physically and emotionally. Once desperately hungry, he is now thriving, full of energy and joy. His journey highlights the profound impact of providing vulnerable children with the nourishment and care they need to flourish.
In San Andres, Guatemala, the Garden Tower initiative has become a source of empowerment and opportunity, particularly for women like Rosa. As a key participant in the program, Rosa manages the Garden Tower project and earns income by sewing the towers. This income has allowed her to purchase essential household items like a stove and refrigerator—items that have dramatically improved her family’s quality of life.
Another success story is Paula Peres Dias, a mother of six. Paula, who stays home to care for her special needs daughter, has found empowerment through the program. The Garden Tower not only supplies fresh produce for her family but also provides a renewed sense of hope and independence. The program’s impact has significantly improved Paula’s family’s well-being, demonstrating the power of sustainable food solutions.
In Rwanda, our partner’s school integrated the Garden Tower program by addressing a critical need for sustainable water access. Water tanks and tower structures were built to support the program, enabling the transfer of seedlings to the new towers.
This initiative has provided Live for One students, parents, and the surrounding community with valuable education and hands-on skills in sustainable gardening. By fostering self-reliance and agricultural knowledge, the program is empowering a new generation to create lasting change.
In the Kyaka II Refugee Settlement, our partner RESDA has fostered sustainable growth through leadership development and the Garden Tower program. Local leaders receive training to manage sewing and tailoring projects, ensuring long-term success and community resilience.
Amina, a participant, shared, “This project has given us hope and a sense of purpose.” Families not only improve their own lives but also help others, creating a ripple effect of empowerment.
The program equips children with gardening skills and an empowered mindset, laying the foundation for future community leaders. Through these efforts, the Garden Towers continue to transform lives and foster sustainable change.
Since 2018, 100 Humanitarians International has distributed over 19,000 Garden Towers across ten Kenyan communities, fostering self-reliance, leadership, and empowerment. Families like Christine Adhiambo’s use these towers to grow vegetables, reduce expenses, and secure additional income, helping cover school fees and restore dignity. Stories like Nancy Kiok’s, who found joy and financial stability by selling kale, and David Omondi’s, a student who funded his education through garden earnings, highlight the initiative’s profound impact. Even children at Rang’ala Baby Home are learning agriculture and teamwork while being nourished by the towers.
USANA’s Chairman’s Club members Fabien Ghys and Helen Song witnessed this transformation firsthand during their visit to Kenya with the USANA Foundation. They experienced the Garden Towers’ role in addressing food insecurity and empowering underserved communities. Fabien reflected on his experience, sharing, “This has been one of the best experiences of my life,” after being honored with a Maasai name in a special ceremony. Their journey underscores the program’s power to inspire global change and aligns with USANA’s mission to create sustainable, meaningful impacts worldwide.
In Iloilo, USANA Associates Roff and RN Pastilloso, along with Rowena Tamagos, have spearheaded thriving Garden Tower projects. Self-funded through community and local leadership support, they built 225 towers serving an orphanage and various families. At the orphanage, each child was entrusted with their own tower. This personal responsibility has inspired pride and dedication, as the children nurture their towers into flourishing gardens.
On the small fishing island of Malapascua, 529 kilometers away, USANA Associate Camille Ang took action to address severe vitamin deficiencies and limited access to fresh produce. After noticing growth challenges among the children, Camille rallied support from friends, family, the USANA Foundation, and 35 USANA Associates. Together, they launched a transformative Garden Tower project that now serves the entire island.
Based in Manila, Project Pearls plays a vital role in advancing initiatives across Southeast Asia. Their sewing center produces Garden Towers, creating employment opportunities for local residents. Project Pearls also operates a school in Tondo, a city dump community in the heart of Manila, providing education and life-saving nutritious meals to children. Families in this area make do with limited resources amidst rubble and refuse, relying on the essential support Project Pearls offers to survive and thrive.
USANA Associates in Malaysia demonstrated exceptional commitment to community empowerment through projects that provide aid and promote sustainability. In Kedah, they supported flood victims, delivering critical food supplies and helping a home for elderly residents and individuals with disabilities recover from disaster-related losses.
In Negeri Sembilan, Associates collaborated with the Suriana Welfare Society to aid Persatuan Kebajikan Vinashini, constructing 15 Garden Towers to foster self-sustainability. Their efforts extended to the 2024 USANA Asia Pacific Convention, where a 1,000-box food packing event delivered 25,000 meals to 100 vulnerable families.
Perhaps the most ambitious initiative was a 10-week summer program in partnership with Humanitarian Experience (HXP). With thriving gardens and empowered families, the project continues to transform lives well into 2025.
USANA partnered with Foodbank Australia and Foodbank NSW & ACT to address food insecurity, contributing $100,000 to programs like the Key Staples and Banana Programs, as well as disaster relief efforts. This funding helped transport fresh produce to Foodbank warehouses, supporting the distribution of 1.2 million meals weekly. With many Australians unable to afford fresh fruits, vegetables, and proteins, USANA’s support ensures healthier options reach those in need. Foodbank CEO Brianna Casey highlighted the partnership’s role in reducing food waste and meeting growing demand.
Through its long-standing collaboration with KidsCan, New Zealand’s leading child poverty charity, the USANA Foundation supports over 200,000 children annually across 1,100 schools and early childhood centers. USANA’s grants sustain KidsCan’s food programs, which provide tailored, nutritious meals, helping children focus on learning and break the cycle of poverty.
After devastating floods in 2023, USANA partnered with The Salvation Army to launch Garden Tower projects and, in 2024, supported the Community Grocer program. This initiative enabled 234 families to access $100 grocery orders for just $70, with foodstocks sourced from the NZ Food Network for cost-efficiency. Impact sites included Manukau, Gore, Hamilton, and Palmerston North. Through these partnerships, USANA empowers communities with sustainable solutions to fight hunger.
In 2024, USANA, in partnership with the USANA Foundation, joined forces with English football club AFC Bournemouth to support local youth in the Bournemouth area. This collaboration built on existing community initiatives, such as the Holiday Activity Fund, which provides essential support to children and families. With a matching grant from the USANA Foundation, the Cherries Community Fund expanded the program into term time, offering weekly breakfast club sessions to several local schools.
Food poverty and insecurity remain significant challenges in the Bournemouth, Poole, and Christchurch areas, making the program a vital resource for local youth. By addressing hunger and ensuring access to nutritious meals, the initiative aimed to support children’s overall well-being and academic success.
“We are really pleased to be able to expand on our school holiday activities with the breakfast clubs, providing an important start to the day for the continued success of pupils across local schools,” said Steve Cuss, Head of Community at AFC Bournemouth. “Working in partnership with USANA, over 200 local children will have the opportunity to participate in physical activities and enjoy a healthy breakfast to start the school day.”
Research consistently highlights the positive impact of breakfast on children’s academic performance, concentration, and energy levels. Recognizing this, the extended breakfast club sessions offer not just meals but also a nurturing environment for children to thrive in both the classroom and their community. Since 2015, USANA has proudly served as AFC Bournemouth’s Official Nutritional and Multi-Vitamin Supplier, supporting all teams with high-quality products designed to optimize health and performance. The partnership’s evolution into addressing food insecurity exemplifies their shared commitment to fostering a healthier future for the community.
“Since partnering with AFC Bournemouth in 2015, USANA has been dedicated to the health and performance of their players,” said Brent Neidig, Chief Commercial Officer at USANA. “We are thrilled to extend our efforts beyond the field by combating child hunger and leveraging our shared strengths to make a lasting, positive impact on the lives of local children.”
Through this meaningful collaboration, AFC Bournemouth and the USANA Foundation continue to demonstrate how partnerships can address pressing community needs, create opportunities, and empower the next generation.
By November 2024, the Love Meal Project positively impacted 10 counties across 7 provinces, including Hebei, Guizhou, Henan, and Sichuan. This initiative delivered approximately 1.27 million nutritious meals to children in rural areas and equipped 59 schools with modern kitchen facilities, directly benefiting over 30,000 children.
Through the Village Angel Project, USANA Foundation contributed 3 million RMB to charitable efforts, providing 375 digital rounds kits, constructing four rehabilitation huts, and hosting over 100 empowerment training sessions. These programs spanned Langao County in Shaanxi, Leishan County in Guizhou, and Zizhou County in Shaanxi, benefiting hundreds of thousands of people. Guided by USANA China’s “Healthy Family” strategy, the project strives to create a sustainable, healthy ecosystem that uplifts rural communities. By improving the skills of rural doctors and promoting health education, we aim to safeguard the well-being of underserved populations.
In 2024, USANA China launched the Family Walk, an innovative public service program that combines brand values, community welfare, sports, and healthy living. The program encouraged families to form “healthy squads,” with each member walking 6,000 steps daily to unlock matching donations from USANA China. These funds support meal packs for children in underdeveloped areas, ensuring they have access to daily nutrition. By the end of 2024, the initiative will have engaged over 20,000 participants, raising 220,000 RMB and donating 60,000 meal packs.

In April 2024, the USANA Foundation embarked on a transformative mission on Malapascua Island in the Philippines, installing 65 Garden Towers to bring sustainable nutrition to local families.
Malapascua, a 2.5-square-kilometer island in the Visayan Sea, relies heavily on tourism and fishing. However, limited income and the high cost of transporting vegetables from the mainland leave many residents without consistent access to fresh, nutritious food. The need for a sustainable solution became evident to USANA Foundation Ambassador Camille Anne Ang during the COVID-19 pandemic when she developed a deep connection with the island community. Camille collaborated with local leaders and the Foundation to pilot the first five Garden Towers in March 2023. These efforts have since expanded, with a goal of installing 250 towers by the end of 2025.
The project involved transporting soil, seeds, plants, and watering tools to the island—a considerable logistical challenge given Malapascua’s lack of roads and reliance on motorcycles for transportation. Raymond, a local resident with access to the island’s sole work truck, played a pivotal role in overcoming these obstacles. His involvement not only moved the project forward but also empowered him as a leader within his community.
Each Garden Tower is designed to produce approximately 1,300 servings of fresh vegetables annually, significantly improving the islanders’ diets. Camille underscored the initiative’s broader potential by telling us, “If we can adapt a garden to thrive on a remote island, we can build towers in every corner of the world. All it takes is collaboration and shared effort.”
The initiative gained further momentum in April with the largest volunteer service group in the Foundation’s history. In a week-long push, 35 USANA Associates from Korea, Australia, Singapore, the Philippines, the United States, and Mexico worked tirelessly to install 64 Garden Towers across the island. Their efforts not only brought sustainable nutrition but also hope, empowerment, and a sense of global community. One volunteer, Tahee Kim, reflected on the experience by saying, “Seeing how much a Garden Tower could help someone was a deeply moving moment. It’s not a perfect solution, but it’s a step toward living a healthier life and sharing our values.”
Camille is committed to ensuring the sustainability of the Malapascua project through education and community engagement. One innovative initiative, “Little Hands,” encourages children to participate in the gardening process. Each child receives a seed kit containing a paper cup, soil, seeds, and a planting stick, empowering them to grow seedlings that are later transferred to the Garden Towers. Camille shared her vision: “Engaging kids in this way not only reduces costs but also fosters a sense of ownership and community involvement.”
As of the end of 2024, there were over 150 towers on the island. Through collaboration, innovation, and dedication, the Garden Tower project on Malapascua Island is transforming lives, proving that sustainable solutions can thrive even in the most remote locations.
In the heart of Malaysia, a groundbreaking humanitarian initiative blossomed, turning the sweltering heat of summer into a season of growth and connection. This 10-week program, a collaboration between local communities and Humanitarian Experience (HXP), brought together youth from the US for an immersive experience in sustainability and service.
Over two-week rotations, these dedicated volunteers rolled up their sleeves to bring our Garden Tower program to multiple communities in need. Each batch of Garden Towers they built represented a fresh approach to community resilience and empowerment.
One standout feature of the project was its holistic approach. Volunteers didn’t just start a task— they saw it through from start to finish. From constructing towers to planting seeds and watching the first shoots sprout, participants witnessed the fruits of their labor come to life in real-time. This was a rare opportunity in humanitarian work, where projects like school construction or well digging often allow volunteers to engage only in a single phase of a long-term plan.
The program’s true impact, however, went far beyond the physical structures. For many volunteers, the most memorable moments came from bonding with the local families. Through shared meals, stories, and laughter, they forged connections that transcended cultural and language barriers. These relationships provided a source of hope for both the communities and the volunteers, showing that small acts of kindness and collaboration can spark lasting change.
For HXP, the hundreds of Garden Towers constructed became symbosl of optimism, demonstrating that sustainability can be both practical and deeply personal. Families who once struggled with limited access to fresh produce now have a resource to nourish both their bodies and their spirits. For the volunteers, witnessing the joy and gratitude of the local people made the hard work worthwhile, leaving them inspired to bring similar initiatives to their own communities.
By the end of the program, over 620 Garden Towers transformed into beacons of hope and unity as they thrived. As 2025 unfolds, these towers will continue to nourish both the land and the heart of the communities and 1,244 people they serve—a lasting testament to the power of youth-driven humanitarian efforts.
Our service trips bring each volunteer closer to the heart of our mission to end malnutrition. Global and local service trips with the USANA Foundation are open to volunteers and Associates. Each trip focuses on strengthening our Garden Tower network by connecting with communities and establishing new, sustainable food systems. The USANA Foundation works with local partners on the ground in every community where Garden Towers are built. These are charity organizations and community leaders with connections to the area that can identify families in need who are good candidates for receiving a Garden Tower.

The call to action is clear: Together, we can build a brighter tomorrow.
In 2024, the USANA Foundation’s return trip to Kenya built on a continued transformative partnership with 100 Humanitarians International. Since the pilot project in 2020 introduced 100 families to the Garden Tower program, the initiative has scaled to over 15,000 towers across Kenya, empowering thousands of families with sustainable food sources.
Chairman’s Club members Helen Song, Fabien Ghys, Vivienne Lee, Alex Tai, and Executive Chairman Kevin Guest joined the trip, witnessing the profound impact of these Garden Towers. Over six days, the team visited communities where Garden Towers are fostering self-sufficiency, better health, and food security. They also brought supplies for a new dental clinic, opened a community well providing clean drinking water, and shared gifts with local children.
A highlight of the visit was seeing families rewarded with chickens for their dedication to maintaining Garden Towers. The chickens, a source of fresh eggs, further enhanced food security and economic stability. These moments underscored the program’s ripple effect on improving lives.
The trip also included a safari in the Maasai Mara, offering a breathtaking experience with a pride of 22 lions—a once-in-a-lifetime encounter. For many, this experience deepened their connection to Kenya’s beauty and resilience. Seeing the Garden Towers’ impact firsthand inspired leaders like Helen Song and Fabien Ghys to advocate more passionately for the Foundation’s mission back home.
Garden Towers have become a beacon of hope, embodying the USANA Foundation’s mission to empower families with tools for self-sufficiency. Guided by leaders such as Kevin Guest and Jim Brown, the this program represents USANA’s vision of creating healthier families worldwide.
This journey strengthened the commitment of the Chairman’s Club to create lasting change, showcasing how collective action and generosity can build a brighter, food-secure future.
