Thank you to our supporters! The incredible support from our community has elevated the USANA Kids Eat program to become a beacon of hope and nourishment for children in need across the Salt Lake Valley. Fueled by the passion of our devoted executives and Associates, and anchored by the unwavering support of our community, the Kids Eat initiative has blossomed into a symbol of local compassion within the USANA Foundation. Families have come together, serving side by side with neighbors and strangers alike, to make a meaningful impact. Local businesses, recognizing the importance of social responsibility, team cohesiveness, and community involvement, have warmly embraced the Kids Eat program as a meaningful way to make a difference. We are deeply moved by the nurturing spirit they share, honored by the consistent generosity of our community, and immensely grateful for the ongoing support we receive. This year’s experience during the Americas and Europe Convention was a beautiful testament to the strength of our collective efforts. Over 500 Associates from multiple countries united to pack more than 700 bags at our Foundation’s onsite location. The day was infused with a shared sense of purpose, solidarity, and the joy of making a tangible difference in the lives of incredible children who deserve to know how loved they are. In the end, our collective efforts are guided by a singular goal—ensuring that no child should ever go hungry. To our supporters, your overwhelming involvement in the Kids Eat program is a shining example of compassion in action, and we are profoundly grateful for your continued support.

The Mission of USANA Kids Eat We believe childhood hunger is unacceptable and we have an opportunity to empower hungry kids right where USANA Health Sciences’ offices are located. The USANA Kids Eat program provides an approachable framework to combat hunger, remove meal uncertainty, and invite the community to join our cause. By creating powerful partnerships within our community, we provide a stable source of food, helping kids reach their fullest potential and have hope for the future. Every meal gives relief to struggling families and provides kids with the nutrition they need to succeed in school, pursue their dreams, and enjoy their childhood! We serve because no child should ever go hungry. With the help of our supporters, this is the life-changing impact we’ve made this year!

Our Programs & Campaigns Weekend Bag Program Many children rely on school meals for the food and nutrition they need. Since these meals aren’t available on weekends, kids can often go hungry. A bag of food can go a long way for a needy child who’s home from school. Here’s our 2023 impact for our weekend bag program. 39 schools and clubs supported 315,966 meals distributed 45,138 total weekend bags

Holiday Bag Project Each winter, we donate food bags to schools and communities to give children food and nutrition during the extended holiday break in December. 46 schools supported 173,600 meals provided 4,340 holiday bags distributed

Every donation, every bag, every meal makes a difference in the life of a food-insecure child. Throughout the school year, the Kids Eat team receives stories of how our weekend bag program and the Holiday Bag Project impact the livelihoods of kids all across the Salt Lake Valley. Thanks to the generosity of our adoptive sponsors and donors, and the dedication of our volunteers and drivers, we’re able to serve nearly 6,000 students with these programs! Here are a few stories from schools we serve.

“Our junior high has been greatly impacted by the USANA Kids Eat program. Our students and families greatly appreciate the amount of nutritious and delicious food that is put into those bags. One family we’ve served was going through a significant transition period and food insecurity became a large issue. With the help of USANA Kids Eat bags, the family was able to have healthy food available at home without the fear of when their next meal would come. The student’s behavior, attitude and overall well-being greatly improved once they had access to this food. We greatly appreciate all the support and could not be more grateful for all that valuable time that is put into each and every bag. Thank you.”

“Thank you so much to all that help the students at our elementary school with the USANA Kids Eat Program. Many of our families this year have struggled to provide consistent food. Our school doubled the number of students from the previous year who wanted to participate in the program. A student that participates in the program mentioned one day how they love the food and that everyone was able to eat at their house because of this program. I have had parents call and ask if there are any openings available to receive a weekly bag. Parents tell me they have fallen on hard times such as losing their job, someone in their family getting sick, or they can’t afford things because of the high prices. Without this support, many of the children at our school would struggle to have adequate food on the weekends. Thanks for feeding us!”

“Our elementary school is currently sending home 15 to 17 food bags a week to students who are in need of supplemental food. With the rising cost of food, the bags are so helpful for families. Students who come down on Fridays for food backpacks are always so grateful for the extra food for their families. Parents also have told us how much they appreciate the food bags. So much work goes into the purchasing, organizing, filling, and the bag deliveries to each school. Our school thanks your amazing staff and volunteers who make this possible. It definitely takes a village to make this program a success. Thank you for your continued support!”

“USANA Kids Eat is a literal lifesaver for our students and their families! Simply put, we could not keep our kiddos adequately fed without the bags you provide. Our elementary school serves about 700 students from preschool to 6th grade. About a third of our students speak English as a second language, and over the last two years, we have had an influx of immigrant families. Many of these families have left their home countries and enter our schools with little to no supplies, and with basic needs not met like not having appropriate clothing or adequate food. Due to cost of living increases and lack of affordable housing, many of our families cohabitate with family and friends, and this strains resources like food. USANA Kids Eat bags provide nutritious food options to help that kids LOVE. Without this valuable resource, our staff would be spending exorbitant amounts of money to help feed these students. We cannot thank USANA and our sponsors enough! Thank you for helping our students feel safe and welcome, and for helping to meet their basic needs!”

Our adoptive sponsors differ from regular donors because they go above and beyond by adopting a specific school, funding their bags for an entire school year, and often packing those bags throughout the year! Thank you to our incredible sponsors for making our programs possible this year.
