Special Message from the USANA Foundation President As we step into 2024, my heart is full with excitement and gratitude. The incredible momentum we’ve witnessed with the Garden Tower Initiative is nothing short of astounding. What adds even more joy to this journey is the surge of new Associates joining our service trips. Sharing moments of camaraderie, building relationships while quite literally “digging in the dirt,” and planting vegetables alongside some of our phenomenal Associates has been deeply enriching. Your unwavering support has catalyzed our mission. This year, not only have we seen a remarkable growth in the families embracing the program, but we’ve also set a new record by providing a whopping 30,732,701 meals to those in need. But it’s not just about meals. The ripples of impact extend to bolstering self-confidence, fostering self-reliance, kindling hope, and even unlocking new avenues of income through the sales of produce from the Garden Towers. As we forge ahead, my vision is clear: the USANA Foundation aspires to be a global leader in sustainable food solutions, championing the cause of those struggling worldwide and supporting USANA in creating the healthiest family on Earth. This year, our ambition soars as we aim to nurture many more sustainable families through the Garden Tower Initiative. Your continued faith fuels our journey, and together, we’re poised to sculpt resilient, sustainable communities in 2024 and beyond. With heartfelt gratitude, thank you!
Brian Paul President USANA Foundation

Three Ways We Make An Impact Our collaboration with a vast global network of partners epitomizes an effective approach to food sustainability. Central to our mission is the empowerment of community leaders, equipping them with the knowledge and resources to harness the potential of the USANA Garden Towers. Through these partnerships, we aim to foster community-driven solutions, transforming the landscape of sustainable food production and ensuring that communities not only survive, but thrive.
1. Immediate Hunger Relief
2. Long-Term Sustainable Food Sources
3. Advanced Nutrition
Immediate food relief plays a pivotal role in our programs, alleviating the urgent stress of supplying food for one’s family in the present moment. This support offers a crucial respite, allowing families in need to look beyond today and tomorrow. At the same time, by cultivating sustainable food solutions, we’re paving the way for continued nutrition for months and years ahead. This dual approach remains a cornerstone of our global meal relief strategy, combining immediate aid with longterm food security for maximum support and empowerment.
Developing long-term sustainable food solutions extends beyond just meeting future nutritional needs. It empowers families, fostering a sense of independence and encouraging a shift towards self-sustainability. Moreover, long-term solutions ensure that the dignity of those we serve is upheld and reinforced, allowing them to take charge of their situations and instilling a profound sense of pride in their self-reliance.
USANA has consistently been at the forefront of creating worldclass supplements, underscoring a commitment to global health. A standout initiative of the USANA Foundation involves providing Usanimals, one of the most advanced children’s vitamins available. This premium formulation doesn’t just meet the nutritional needs of children, but significantly elevates them, making it a gamechanger in enhancing nutrition for some of the world’s most malnourished young individuals.
Empower Families With Us Donate Monthly donations provide the USANA Foundation a steady and reliable source of funding that allows us to provide continual support to our network of over 30 partners and hundreds of global Garden Tower communities.
Serve Global service trips to Latin America, Africa, or Southeast Asia are open to volunteers. Each trip is focused on strengthening our Garden Tower network through connecting with communities and establishing new, sustainable food systems.
Sponsor An annual $500 donation supports a Garden Tower community of 10 families and provides 26,000 meals per year. These sponsorships provide donors a unique opportunity to connect with food-insecure communities both locally and globally.

This Year’s Service Trips Serving & Growing Together In 2023, the USANA Foundation continued its unwavering commitment to making a meaningful impact in communities around the world. Our annual service trips brought us closer to the heart of our mission to end malnutrition, offering donors a firsthand experience of the transformative power of their contributions. This year, our team ventured to Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Mexico, Uganda, and Rwanda, expanding our reach and delivering fresh food solutions to communities in need.
Thriving Communities Africa | September 2023 The September 2023 trip to Rwanda and Uganda was a profound exploration of our Garden Tower program’s resounding success. Brian Paul and Michelle Benedict, our devoted team members, witnessed these communities flourishing. The dedication of our local partners in Rwanda and Uganda was evident as they continue to make a substantial impact in the lives of many. 12 | USANAFoundation.org
Nurturing Partnerships Asia Pacific | April 2023 In April 2023, Brian Paul spent three weeks journeying through Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines. This journey was marked by visits to our dedicated partners in each region, along with hundreds of USANA Associates. It provided us with invaluable insights into the progress of our Garden Tower program in these areas and laid the groundwork for future service trips.
A Journey to Service Mexico | May 2023 Every May and October, we extend a heartfelt invitation to USANA Associates and generous donors from Mexico, the United States, and Canada, inviting them to serve with us in Baja California, Mexico. In May 2023, a dedicated team of 16 individuals, in close collaboration with the Foundation for His Ministry and IRT, embarked on a service trip to build Garden Towers, bringing nourishment and hope to families facing adversity. Sponsor a Garden Tower Community Sow seeds of hope around the world
Millions of families across the world have inadequate access to a secure source of food. At the USANA Foundation, we’re always looking for innovative, sustainable solutions to tackle malnutrition and empower families to feed, nourish, and provide for themselves for years to come—solutions like USANA Garden Towers. A USANA Garden Tower is a simple, powerful solution that provides nutritious food for people all over the world. Made from long-lasting, durable material, each tower measures just three feet in diameter and can hold up to 120 plants that can be harvested for years.
Garden Towers Benefit Families Feeds families of six 5-8 meals a week Uses 30% less water, maximizing sustainability Provides income opportunities through selling excess produce Increases brain and body health via nutrition Strengthens self-reliance and independence
Garden Towers Benefit Communities Improves soil & increases local biodiversity Reduces waste through composting Minimizes distance required to transport or purchase food Re-imagines neglected spaces into productive centers Creates green space that fosters community involvement
Thousands of families in Africa, Central America, and Southeast Asia have collectively planted over 35,000 towers since this innovative program was first launched in 2020. In addition to our thriving Garden Tower communities in Kenya, Mexico, and the Philippines, your recent generous support has allowed us to expand our network of sustainably fed families into even more areas. These areas include Guatemala, Sierra Leone, Malaysia, Uganda, and Rwanda.
Help Us Grow Hope A one-time donation of $20 provides a family with a USANA Garden Tower and everything they need to grow sustainable food for years to come. A monthly donation of $41 can empower an entire community of 10 families with 20 towers. Give a Garden Tower today and change a family’s life. Donate to the USANA Foundation our website or add a Garden Tower donation to your USANA Auto Order. Every dollar makes a difference!

Thank you to our supporters! The incredible support from our community has elevated the USANA Kids Eat program to become a beacon of hope and nourishment for children in need across the Salt Lake Valley. Fueled by the passion of our devoted executives and Associates, and anchored by the unwavering support of our community, the Kids Eat initiative has blossomed into a symbol of local compassion within the USANA Foundation. Families have come together, serving side by side with neighbors and strangers alike, to make a meaningful impact. Local businesses, recognizing the importance of social responsibility, team cohesiveness, and community involvement, have warmly embraced the Kids Eat program as a meaningful way to make a difference. We are deeply moved by the nurturing spirit they share, honored by the consistent generosity of our community, and immensely grateful for the ongoing support we receive. This year’s experience during the Americas and Europe Convention was a beautiful testament to the strength of our collective efforts. Over 500 Associates from multiple countries united to pack more than 700 bags at our Foundation’s onsite location. The day was infused with a shared sense of purpose, solidarity, and the joy of making a tangible difference in the lives of incredible children who deserve to know how loved they are. In the end, our collective efforts are guided by a singular goal—ensuring that no child should ever go hungry. To our supporters, your overwhelming involvement in the Kids Eat program is a shining example of compassion in action, and we are profoundly grateful for your continued support.

The Mission of USANA Kids Eat We believe childhood hunger is unacceptable and we have an opportunity to empower hungry kids right where USANA Health Sciences’ offices are located. The USANA Kids Eat program provides an approachable framework to combat hunger, remove meal uncertainty, and invite the community to join our cause. By creating powerful partnerships within our community, we provide a stable source of food, helping kids reach their fullest potential and have hope for the future. Every meal gives relief to struggling families and provides kids with the nutrition they need to succeed in school, pursue their dreams, and enjoy their childhood! We serve because no child should ever go hungry. With the help of our supporters, this is the life-changing impact we’ve made this year!
Our Programs & Campaigns Weekend Bag Program Many children rely on school meals for the food and nutrition they need. Since these meals aren’t available on weekends, kids can often go hungry. The Foundation at APC & AEC
Asia Pacific Convention The USANA Foundation was an important fixture at USANA’s global conventions. At our Asia Pacific Convention in May, we rounded up 2,000+ surveys and sign-ups for future volunteer opportunities to help strengthen the USANA Foundation’s presence in our Asia Pacific markets. Volunteers also joined a food pack made possible with the support from local Korean nonprofit, Korea Food for the Hungry International (KFHI). Together with the Foundation, we packed 1,100 boxes of food that were then distributed to families in need.
Americas & Europe Convention During our Americas & Europe Convention in Salt Lake City, Utah, we raised US $60,000 from our supporters’ auction contributions! Letitia Frye auctioned off key items like leadership training sessions with USANA Executives, spa events, a Sanoviv Medical Institute retreat, and various items signed by USANA executives. Combined with our attendees’ generosity, nearly all USANA executives and chief officers also made donations or bids, supporting the Foundation—and countless families around the world.

World Service Week Serving together
On June 11th, 2023, we kicked off our sixth annual World Service Week!
World Service Week has become a tradition that our donors, supporters, and USANA staff look forward to each year! We gather in communities all around the world and, for one week, we collectively focus on doing our best to make a difference in our communities by providing impactful acts of service. Whether it be serving at a food kitchen, making a meal for a neighbor, or contributing to our ever-expanding Garden Tower program, this week provides the perfect opportunity to give back and help transform the communities in which we live.

Whether you’re able to go on a service trip with the USANA Foundation or not, we invite you to give back to your own community. Don’t forget to tell us about your service project!
Meet Our Global
Partners
The impact we have is made possible by our locally-based partners, global market leaders, and engaging Associates. Our change-making local leadership members have been instrumental in addressing challenges head-on. From sourcing the right soil to cultivating seedlings in greenhouses, our incredible partners have ensured these Garden Towers reach the families most in need. Our gratitude also extends to our USANA Associates who’ve played a pivotal role in connecting us with these partners and communities. Numerous associates have further enriched our mission, participating in service trips and embodying USANA’s cherished values, showing the world the power of giving back. Beyond merely offering a means of quality nutrition, we’re deeply committed to education. We train families to harness the potential of these towers, empowering them to become more self-sufficient in their food production. This initiative not only nourishes them, but provides hope and a newfound dignity.

Voices from the
Americas
Our donors’ commitment to the Americas makes a meaningful difference by providing families with access to nutritious food, fostering community connections, and opening up new opportunities for income and skills development. Their support has been instrumental in the success of our Garden Towers program.
Guatemala The Perez compound, home to five families, has witnessed a transformation this year. Each family’s garden now thrives with the introduction of Garden Towers. These Towers have become crucial since the nearest market is a distant journey, making fresh produce more accessible. The Garden Towers not only ensure a healthy diet but also offer financial relief amid rising vegetable prices. These families express gratitude for the lifechanging benefits these Towers bring. Building on the inspiring narrative of the Perez community, the Garden Tower program’s reach and impact extend much further. Across various communities, the program has been a beacon of hope for 4,435 individuals, addressing the pressing concern of food insecurity. In their inaugural year, these Towers are projected to yield almost 2 million meals. Reflecting on this significant transformation, we cannot fathom how these families previously navigated the hurdles of obtaining nutritious food without considerable physical and financial strain.
26 | USANAFoundation.org
Mexico In Mexico, our efforts have led to a transformative impact through partnerships with Foundation for His Ministry and International Relief Teams, introducing Garden Towers as sustainable food solutions. Local leadership has been key in overcoming agricultural challenges, ensuring these resources aid those most in need. We’ve been working to tackle water scarcity and provide education to families for self-sufficient food production. Our projects have delivered over 1.5 million meals via 1,100 Garden Towers. We are grateful to our USANA Ambassadors for their integral role in fostering these partnerships and thank our Associates for their active participation and support in empowering these communities!
Canada Deanna Waters, a distinguished member of our Chairman’s Club, has been a driving force behind significant advancements in Manitoba, Canada. Her proactive approach led to pivotal meetings with city officials, nonprofits, and NGOs, all aimed at enhancing food security. A focus of these discussions has been the possibility of introducing Garden Towers to vulnerable populations, including indigenous communities. Many organizations in the region spearhead various garden initiatives and the Garden Towers have been met with enthusiasm for their ability to address and solve several existing challenges. We are excited for the Garden Towers pilot projects, set to launch in various parts of Manitoba. Their success could be a game-changer, paving the way for a broader rollout across other Canadian regions. USANAFoundation.org | 27
Stories of Transformation in
Africa
Uganda Uganda is a country in great need. Through several strong partners, we have been able to make an impact in some critical areas of Kampala. Refugee Empowerment for Sustainable Development in Africa (RESDA) implements Garden Towers throughout the Kyaka II Refugee Settlement in Kyegegwa District Uganda. Upon arriving, these refugees are given 7 poles, $3, and a small square of land to begin a new life. Although the soil is fertile, there is no room for gardening in each small plot. Garden Towers have been the perfect solution, and driving through the camp of 130,000, they can be seen growing next to various houses along the way. With 1,000 Towers already implemented, this is just the beginning of an amazing impact on those who have nothing but hope for a new life. In the city streets of Kampala, Kids Read has implemented Garden Towers where students are educated. Nourishing students’ bodies as they nourish their minds, these Towers are spread out throughout the homes of 6 communities and Grace Place Ministries, helping not only the students and their families.
28 | USANAFoundation.org
Rwanda One of the most impressive things about Rwanda is the community spirit and collective efforts to make the Garden Tower community the best it can be. Embodying the spirit of Rwanda, Live for One is passionate about providing education for kids. Their 2023 school pilot was very successful, with children learning to plant and garden at school. These kids are then are able to become leaders in their families with the skills to do the same at home.
Kenya Kenya is where the Garden Tower program all started! 100 Humanitarians continues to impact 10 communities including the Masai Mara, Narok, and Bomet counties with a total of 12,000 Towers built since 2018. Building 1,250 Towers each quarter, this organization with its many partners on the ground have transformed the Kenyan landscape and impacted thousands. As a young mother said, “It is a better way to grow food that will be there for a long time, rather than many growing seasons for the ground.”

Hope shared in
Asia-Pacific Philippines Thoughout the Phillippines, teams of USANA Associates have worked to build Garden Towers in six different regions. Working with various partners such as Project Pearls, hundreds of Garden Towers are the result of their strong teamwork!
Indonesia Through our partnerships with IPB University and Operation Underground Railroad, the community is able to come together to provide Garden Towers for those most in need. USANA Associates donate to support this cause and also spent considerable time volunteering to make and maintain this project. The biggest impact in nutrition and empowerment was made when this community came together and involved university experts!
30 | USANAFoundation.org
Malaysia Extreme weather conditions didn’t stop our partner, Suriana, in Malaysia from having a productive year. With the help of USANA Associates, they built, rebuilt, and established strong towers, supplying the gardening area with an enclosure to keep out pests. We are proud of their determination and innovation!
Australia & New Zealand New Zealand areas benefited by Garden Towers include a hostel, communal living center, women’s refuge, and multi-story apartment for unhoused individuals. Towers in each of these central areas serve those experiencing extreme instability and vulnerability in their lives, thus reaching people who would otherwise be unreachable. Thanks to USANA New Zealand and Auckland City Mission for this continued outreach! Australia USANA employees lead out and gained experience for future projects by growing Garden Towers at headquarters and Mini Garden Towers at their homes.

China takes on
Malnutrition As of the third quarter of 2023, Love Meals made a significant impact across China, supporting 10 counties within seven provinces—notably Hebei, Guizhou, Henan, and Sichuan. This initiative has successfully distributed over 1.02 million meals to children, enhancing their daily nutrition. Additionally, Love Meals has equipped 50 schools with state-of-the-art kitchen facilities, ensuring that over 24,000 children have access to well-equipped food preparation. Since its launch in January 2023, the USANA Village Angel Program has been a lifeline to remote communities in Langao County, Shaanxi, and Leishan County, Guizhou. The program has delivered 274 Angel Digital Patrol Kits that have cutting-edge medical tools like blood pressure and glucose monitors, along with computers equipped with electronic management systems for health records. The initiative goes beyond donations, providing local doctors with specialized training and setting up Angel Rehabilitation and Health Huts in four health centers. This blend of modern technology and training has revolutionized rural healthcare, enabling doctors to work more efficiently and manage health records digitally, bringing a new level of medical care to villagers nestled in the mountains. It’s a step forward in ensuring that every resident has access to the care they need to maintain their health. China has successfully executed three impactful service expeditions, each marking its own milestone. In January, the journey began in Shaanxi, followed by a vibrant venture to Yunnan in May, and culminating with a meaningful engagement in Guizhou in August. Dedicated Associates lead the charge on each trip! 32 | USANAFoundation.org
Seeds sown in
Europe
France In the Lorraine region of France, a collaborative effort with the Association AncrAges has launched a pilot project aimed at enhancing food security in one of its most impoverished areas. Three Garden Towers were established in a school, marking the commencement of what they call an “Educational Vegetable Garden” for the community. An additional 50 towers were sent in May, with plans to further establish 34 towers in the surrounding areas of Geneva. This momentum was celebrated with a prominent launch in Annemasse on June 25th, drawing the attention of key local figures and the media. Dozens of USANA Associates rallied to the cause, actively participating in building these towers. Their dedication and hands-on involvement lay a robust foundation, setting up what promises to be a groundbreaking initiative in 2024 with the potential to provide an impressive 174,200 meals annually.

the heart of communities across Mexico, the In Philippines, Kenya, Uganda, and Guatemala, the USANA Foundation, in collaboration with local partners, has embarked on a journey that not only transforms mesh material into functional Garden Towers but also empowers women and stimulates local economies. The USANA Foundation’s Garden Tower program relies on a network of partner sewing centers strategically located in these regions, playing a crucial role in turning rolls of Garden Tower material into innovative vertical gardens that have the power to nourish families for years to come. But the impact doesn’t stop at the Garden Towers themselves—it extends to the women who work tirelessly to bring these towers to life and the communities that benefit from their labor. Each sewing center program is made possible through grants requested by our local partners in each area. These grants are a lifeline for the women involved in the sewing process. They represent more than just financial support—they symbolize hope, opportunity, and empowerment. Through these grants, women receive wages for their hard work, providing them with much-needed income to support themselves and their families. Behind every Garden Tower is a story of dedication and skill. The women in these partner sewing centers are the unsung heroes of this initiative.
34 | USANAFoundation.org
They meticulously cut and sew the Garden Tower material, transforming it into the iconic cylindrical structures that have the power to change lives and sustain nourishment for families. The impact of these sewing center programs goes far beyond the Garden Towers themselves—it extends to the communities where they are located. The economic stimulus generated by these initiatives supports local businesses and helps stimulate economic growth, providing more resources than nutrition alone. Women who were once struggling to make ends meet are now empowered with a source of income that provides stability and hope. Together, we can continue to stitch a sustainable future, one Garden Tower, one sewing center, and one empowered woman at a time. The impact is profound, the change is lasting, and the future is brighter because of it.

In establishing the Chairman’s Club, Executive Chairman of USANA Health Sciences Kevin Guest meticulously selected its inaugural 21 members, recognizing them as extraordinary leaders within USANA whose passion for team growth and unwavering commitment to service set them apart. Guided by Winston Churchill’s enduring wisdom, “We make a life out of what we give,” Kevin envisioned a community of philanthropic influencers dedicated to creating a lasting impact. The Chairman’s Club transcends traditional philanthropy—it’s an opportunity for members to build a legacy of positive change. Kevin’s decision to form this elite group is rooted in a shared belief with Dr. Myron Wentz, founder of USANA Health Sciences, in the transformative power of giving back. Each Chairman’s Club member contributes $10,000 annually and plays a direct role in supporting over 250 families. This generous donation significantly amplifies the impact of the USANA Foundation’s Garden Tower program, addressing food insecurity in communities globally. Consisting of USANA distributors, executives, and board members, this group of leaders is more than a collective of donors—they are a force driving change. As Chairman’s Club members, their influence extends beyond financial support. They have the opportunity to witness firsthand the impact of their annual contribution by traveling to supported communities like in Kenya. Their leadership is celebrated at USANA events, inspiring others to join in this transformative journey. In addition, exclusive meetings at global conventions provide a platform for critical discussions on philanthropy with Kevin and the USANA executive team.
In essence, the Chairman’s Club is a conduit for individuals to expand both their entrepreneurial and humanitarian reach. Kevin Guest and Dr. Myron Wentz believe that genuine success is intertwined with giving back, and the annual contribution from Chairman’s Club members solidifies their commitment to this principle. From this year onward, this section in our annual report is a celebration of their dedication to creating positive change and an acknowledgment of the pivotal role they play in shaping the future of the Chairman’s Club.
