Light painting is a photographic technique where exposures are made by moving a hand-held light source like a mobile phone, torch or sparkler, or by moving the camera. The term ‘light painting’ also encompasses images lit from outside the image frame with hand-held light sources. Exposure will teach you how to master this technique where you will see your drawing and words come to life through a photo.
The Confession Booth with Emily Windon 6 – 8.30pm
The Loft Bar
The Confession Booth is an interactive art performance by Emily Windon. She invites you to come and off-load your deepest secrets using the cloak of anonymity. Emily describes the experience below; “The confession booth uses a post box system, in which the written confessions of participants are placed. People using the booth are also asked to wear a face cover, which the overseer of the booth also wears in order for the process to be confidential and non- confrontational. The booth is a cheeky look at a serious issue- what secrets do we hold as modern people in organised and tidy lives; how we maintain our composure when things go wrong and what secrets are hidden inside our social and cultural cupboards. Where do we go when our secrets become

too much to bear and so much of our old social rituals are changing?” Emily Windon is a multimedia artist who uses performance, photography and installation to question the boundaries of the self and the environment, the movement of the body within its space and the role of the mystical in unifying the body and mind. The role of technology in the changing of culture is an important focus in much of Emily’s art, and her installations often use strategies that bring into question ways that a technology infused life has changed the way we deal with non-technological products, such as nature and the mystical.
