Overview of ActivateUTS: Formerly known as UTS Union, ActivateUTS is a non-profit organisation established over 40 years ago, dedicated to enhancing the student experience during their time studying at UTS. ActivateUTS supports over 130 affiliated clubs and societies, we also bring together an array of campus facilities including great bars, cafes, retail outlets, a fitness centre, physiotherapy and also student events, clubs and societies.

Overview of the position: Reporting to the ActivateSocial Manager, this position will be the first point of contact for all student enquiries. This position will be responsible for providing high level customer service, ensuring appropriate and consistent information is available for a range students. Working closely with internal stakeholders and the Social team, this position is a key member of the Social team, responsible for ensuring reception is operating as a welcoming information hub for all student enquiries. The position has financial responsibility for ticket sales and other monetary transactions and also provides general administrative support to the Social team as required.

Duties & Responsibilities: •

Understand processes that assist students with club related enquiries at reception

Book relevant rooms, bars and UTS grounds as required for events via the Room Booking System and Activate Booking System

Provide high level customer service to all students at the front desk by keeping up to date on department events/information and understanding processes such as locker hire, room bookings and equipment hire

Accurate management of all cash handling duties such as looking after daily sales, Ticketmaster, recording daily transactions, float management, payments for club equipment, BBQ hire, bar tabs & hire equipment

Maintenance of administrative duties such as updating excel budget sheets, archiving, diary & email management, ordering office supplies as well as accurately processing invoices

Liaise with internal stakeholders such as ActivateUTS teams, UTS security and other relevant UTS Departments on current events
