Cannabis is the single most versatile herbal remedy, and the most useful plant on Earth. No other single plant contains as wide a range of medically active herbal constituents. -Dr. Ethan Russo

Editor’s Note Most of us will step into 2015 with a long list of New Year’s resolutions. We will vow to visit the gym on a daily basis or promise to place money into savings each month. Some of us may decide to conquer those addictions that have been hanging on for so long and yet others will choose to cut back on work in hopes of reducing stress levels. Whether you keep your resolutions or not, please keep in mind, it is the act of positivity that is really important. Setting resolutions for ourselves is simply a way of remaining positive and continuously striving to improve as people. Positivity does not always come naturally, for many of us it is a choice that must be made on a daily basis. It is not always easy and those embracing positive attitudes deserve a huge pat on the back as they tend to “rub off” on those around them.
For me personally, as a wife and mother, I have carried the burden of worry and negativity with me for many years. Luckily, I have a husband who is the embodiment of optimism. I often
invoke positive energy, please know the impact that you make on those around you. The world is in dire need of change – lets each of us resolve to embrace positivity in the coming year. Cheers to the coming year!

Grow a Healthy Nevada! By: Jennifer Solas With legal warfare between Clark County and the State of Nevada imminent, it looks like dispensary openings will be pushed back, yet again. And, if only a small number of the dispensaries open it will still leave a gap in the safe access for patients. In order to help patients cope with this bureaucratic mess and remain independent and self-sufficient, W.E.C.A.N. is beginning a series of classes teaching legal cultivation in Nevada for licensed patients. Nevadans have always prided themselves on self-sufficiency and

independence, I think that being “Battle Born” means that you have claimed this land as your own. I am not a native to this state, but I have been welcomed by the state and people through this cannabis fight. The recent news about the state and municipal MME licensees coupled with a hidden and confusing selection method for licensing dispensaries has once again demonstrated why Nevada citizens need to maintain their frontier spirit and GROW NEVADA. One of the main fights that we have in Nevada as patients is the fight to retain our ability to grow our own medicine and supply for ourselves. We also have the ability and duty to ourselves to be our own advocates on nutrition and health. W.E.C.A.N. will also be offering classes on nutrition and cooking for patients. The hemp seed is a remarkable source of proteins, healthy fatty acids and essential amino acids. I believe that it is especially important for people with chronic illness to maintain a healthy diet, and these classes will focus on ways that members of our cannabis community can proactively manage their conditions.

W.E.C.A.N’s parties are becoming an increasingly important part of the social scene for cannabis patients in Nevada. One of the biggest challenges people with chronic illness face is the isolation that is part of being largely housebound and out of the work force. These parties help connect people with others who find value in the alternative medical relief that this amazing plant offers. Looking forward into 2015, we are planning to move our parties to a new and larger venue in order to make these events open to the growing number of patients here in southern Nevada. Be sure to check out our Facebook page and join our mailing list in order to be kept up to date on our various healthy, community minded events. W.E.C.A.N. is a 501 (c) 3 Nonprofit that first started as a Meetup group. It currently has nearly 600 members. This is the 6th year that W.E.C.A.N. has been in existence in Nevada. meetup.com/WeCan702/ is free to join and provides a platform for people to post and discuss ideas in a controlled environment. Ask the Medicated Madame ... Dear Medicated Madame, I have been smoking weed for over 4 years and I used to love it but all of a sudden I am having anxiety attacks after a few hits and hating the weed buzz. What happened? I really miss smoking and have nothing to do anymore since I don’t drink. Can you help? Hello Non-Drinker, You are not alone, this is an issue that many smokers deal with at some point. My first instinct is to tell you to research the different strains before smoking more and putting yourself at risk of another anxiety attack. Sativa strains are known to produce an uppity buzz while Indica strains provide a nice mellow, couch-melting buzz. My best guess is that you have been smoking a Sativa strain when you are in need of an Indica strain. Use a free app like Leafly to determine which strain is best for you then smoke away in the name of research! Possibly consider keeping a journal with the strains that you like to eliminate future
guess work. Hope this helps and stay clear from that liquor, that’s the dangerous stuff. ----------------------------------------------Dear Medicated Madame, A few weeks ago I went to a party where a good looking guy asked me to roll a joint for him. I was really embarrassed to say that I couldn’t roll and he found another girl that could. I don’t ever want to feel useless again. How do I learn to roll the perfect joint? Hello (not) Useless, I’m guessing that Mr. Good Looking couldn’t roll the joint himself or he would have. Most smart girls would shrug this off and find a guy with pre-rolls, but if this guy really is the cat’s meow try these tips to land that hunk. When you’re rolling your first joint, start on a flat surface and make sure that the weed is stem and seed free. Start by putting more weed in the ends of the joint. Let the excess weed fill the middle and start to make your first rolling motion. Use your thumbs to push the bottom up and use your index/
middle finger combo to mimic the rolling action of a rolling machine. This will let you know if you have a natural ability or if you should spend the next few days rolling pencil shavings instead of turning your precious buds into dust. Practice, practice, practice! You can use thicker papers to make the rolling process easier but that makes for a harsh doobie. If these tips don’t work, search for How to Videos or be the cool girl and splurge on a three dollar roller. I hope this advice lands you the man of your dreams. If all fails just buy a really sweet bong, guys love that. The Medicated Madame is here to answer your cannabis related questions. Feel free to send your questions via email to editor@ vegascannabismag.com with MEDICATED MADAME in the subject line.

NV MMJ Program The Nevada Medical Marijuana Cardholders/Caregivers Program is a state registry program within the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services, Nevada Division of Public and Behavioral Health. caregiver to one cardholder; and a cardholder cannot be a caregiver to another cardholder. A person under 18 must have permission from their custodial parent or their guardian who is in charge of their medical decisions. And that person MUST act as the minor’s primary caregiver. Only a physician who is licensed under NRS 630 or NRS 633 can sign a “Physician’s Statement”. That means only a medical doctor or osteopathic doctor licensed in the State of Nevada. The specific reasons a person can be denied participation in the Medical Marijuana Program are available on the DPBH website. A card is good for one year only. It must be renewed annually, one year from the date your application was stamped. The same procedure used in the original registration process must be followed. 453A.101 and 112. “Usable marijuana,” as defined in NRS 453A.160, means the seeds, dried leaves and flowers of a plant of the genus Cannabis, and any mixture or preparation thereof that is appropriate for the medical use of marijuana. The term does not include the stalks and roots of the plant. Issuance of a Nevada Medical Marijuana Registry card does not exempt the holder from prosecution under the state or federal laws that apply to marijuana and is not recognized by the federal government. NRS 453A is a state law; it does not address federal laws. It is recommended you discuss the limitations and liabilities that are associated with existing federal laws with your personal attorney. The registry card is issued for use in Nevada, and may not be recognized in other states. The DPBH does not make any medical decisions about an application. Your own, personal physician decides if you have a “qualifying disease”. The DPBH sees that an applicant is in compliance with the law and if so, arranges for that person to be issued a registry card.

Good Word-Bad Word Bad Language is Heard, Not Spoken By: S.M. Percy
Language is one of the key tools when it comes to the success of our society. It is used to express thought, give direction or sometimes, simply used as a bonding tool. Hand signals a baby uses to tell their parent they are hungry might just look like a fussy baby to the untrained eye. Morse code sounds clear as day if you are in the Navy, while to the untrained ear sounds like a bunch of racket. With so many positives attached with this form of communication, is there really such a thing as bad language? What do you consider to be bad language for you? If you are someone of faith, bad language might be someone taking your Lord’s name in vain. If you are a military officer, it might be someone of lesser rank not addressing you as “sir” or “ma’am.” Depending on the environment and who is in it, this can change dramatically. People tend to associate words to their environment, and therefore might not understand the word if they are not from that environment. The marijuana community can often be a victim of this. Outsiders tend to use words like stoner and drug addict to bring them down to a level they can understand. The reality is that while some are in fact those things, most people are parents, hardworking employees, entrepreneurs and even athletes.
Ted Turner has been rumored to smoke marijuana regularly. Hardly the person you would expect to see if he was the stoner coming over for dinner. Kind of puts that theory up in smoke if you ask me. Is it the language that offends me or am I being offended because someone else would be? This can be very important to consider. We perceive words
based on our upbringings, environments, faith and culture. Words’ meanings can also change over time. Take a word like “bad.” At the root of the word, it just means bad. As time went on, it also took on another form, meaning cool. At the same time, someone can use “polite” words to be condescending. Have you ever talked to someone with a smaller vocabulary and they told you, you were talking to down to them or talking to them like they were stupid? More than likely it wasn’t the words you used, but how you chose to use them.
Vegas Cannabis Magazine • JANUARY 2015 • 16
Calling a female dog a bitch is not profanity, however calling a female a bitch.... well, I hope you are wearing a helmet when you say it. Society chooses to make rules involving language. This can be a form of social conditioning. While rules can be helpful when it comes to traffic, I question if it is necessary. For example, using curse words in some public places is frowned upon in any form, but why don’t we make rules against using polite words? Well first because everyone would lose their manners, but mainly because it’s not what you say, but how you say it. What if everyone interpreted language the way it was meant to be interpreted. Obviously we are not mind readers, but that is where human understanding comes in. Are we making our judgments based on what we are hearing, or what the person is actually saying? There is power in our words. Words can be used to convey emotions that would otherwise not be easy to communicate. So, the next time we find ourselves offended by what someone is saying, ask ourselves - are we really offended by someone’s language or have we just been socially conditioned to think we’re offended?

Embracing Our Cannabis Community By: Jessica Parks Have you ever been a part of a community? Have you ever felt like your contribution to one particular group was absolutely imperative to the success to rest of the group? Well, you are a part of one now. I am offering you an opportunity to join me, with millions of other humans, in a group we call “Cannabis Community.” There are responsibilities that come with being a part of the community. And, I take these responsibilities seriously. Each one of us has a responsibility to respect each other, as well as encourage growth. I have been a part of other communities - the homeless community, the Christian community, and a “small-town” community are some of my most treasured experiences. No matter what community you claim as your own, those 2 responsibilities will never leave you. In the past few years, as a cannabis activist, I have seen some ugly behavior. My true heart’s passion is to share the amazing medical benefits I have witnessed not only as an activist, but also as a patient. Cannabis
activists are some of the most intelligent and passionate people I have met. And with that knowledge and drive, comes the “bullies.” As an activist, I have found myself becoming both frustrated and excited about things and initially thought my loud voice was the most important thing in the room. But, over time, I have realized that we are in this together, and I often have to make amends. “Cannabis Community” to me, means that we are able to be passionate and get wild and rowdy about cannabis without being shunned. This plant has saved some of our loved ones, many of us have mental issues, and many of us are in extreme pain and this plant is the only thing that offers relief. I encourage you to get absolutely crazy about it! But, please do so without disrespecting others in the process. We never know the whole story about someone else. Each person’s experiences are completely their own. You don’t know if someone is actually angry or just hurt and acting out in anger. Making a choice to be a part of a community is loving your sister
Vegas Cannabis Magazine • JANUARY 2015 • 18
or brother beyond their actions. The “Cannabis Community” that I am a part of is nationwide. And, I feel love from sisters and brothers in other states just as much as I am loved and encouraged here. The bullies are in the mix, and I do have my haters which is why I feel compelled to share the true meaning of this community. Following are a few things that I have learned along the way: •
Share experiences. I am not just some hippy in Oregon, I am HUMAN. After sharing some of the horrific fight I’ve been through, others could relate to me more. I found that I was able to encourage and enlighten others who are going through some of the things I’ve been through.
•
Listen to those that have been through it. YES- YOU KNOW EVERYTHING! I believe you -- but don’t get so caught up in your own ego that you forget where you began.
•
Support each other in your pain. Stop being mean about it, we all hurt. If you can be more
compassionate to the universe, the universe will offer more compassion to you. •
Lose your ego. You may have the best buds, the biggest yield, and the most growing knowledge. But in the end, each and every one of us is on our own journey and entitled to do things the way that we choose.
•
Encourage growth. Plant seeds of love and compassion. Water, feed, nurture, and repeat.

Epilepsy and Cannabis By: Allison Howarth President-AllBud.com
The thought that marijuana might be an effective remedy for epilepsy is nothing new; there are years and years’ worth of stories from real-life moms and dads, citing marijuana as a turning point in their kids’ struggles with seizures. There are countless anecdotes suggesting that treatment with marijuana lessens the severity and frequency of seizures, and in most states where medical marijuana is legal, epilepsy does indeed qualify as a condition for enrollment in the Medical Marijuana Program. But what does the science say? Is Medical Marijuana’s reputation as an anti-epilepsy drug purely anecdotal, or is there any research behind it?
Slow Science, but Ample Anecdotes The sad reality is that there just isn’t much science on the issue yet. The Epilepsy Foundation of Colorado sheds some light on this, noting that so far research has lagged behind anecdote—usually because of anti-drug laws at the federal level, which prohibit cannabis use even for clinical
research purposes. “In countries where medical use of marijuana is legal, a number of people with epilepsy report beneficial effects from using marijuana, including a decrease in seizure activity,” notes an article from the Foundation. “Those who promote the medical use of marijuana often include treatment of epilepsy in the long list of disorders for which marijuana is supposed to be helpful. In fact, multiple states now have laws allowing the prescription of marijuana for the treatment of epilepsy.” The same article goes on to lament that there is “very little scientific literature” available to back up these claims—though that may change soon, thanks to one promising new study. Epilepsy and cannabinoids has actually been studied internationally at both the animal and human level, but the conflicting evidence is often a result of the the combination of cannabinoids or the single cannabinoid selected as part of the study.

New Study Explores Marijuana as Sound Treatment for Epilepsy Indeed, TIME Magazine recently reported about a new study, just about to begin enrolling patients, that may finally lend some scientific credence to these claims of marijuana as a treatment for epilepsy. “In what is believed to be the first study of its kind, researchers at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus will study the genes of those with a kind of epilepsy called Dravet Syndrome who have been treated with a strain of medical marijuana known as Charlotte’s Web” reports TIME. “The study will attempt to determine if specific genetic components can explain why some epilepsy patients see positive results from ingesting Charlotte’s Web, while others do not.” Charlotte’s Web, which is produced in Colorado, is low in THC—the compound that gives marijuana its psychoactive effects—but high in CBD, believed to be the compound CONTINUED ON PAGE 22

that wards off seizures in children. It’s generally administered as an oil, and is a common choice among doctors seeking treatments for epileptic children. Although the strain is known for being high in CBD and THC, it is important to note that unlike CBD only extractions or synthetic products, Charlotte’s Web still contains the other naturally existing cannabinoids in cannabis. Although these cannabinoids exist in significantly smaller ratios compared to THC and CBD, some compliment or have their own medicinal qualities that may play a role in anecdotal evidence that shows more success with natural cannabis oils over pharmaceutical extractions.
Other known strains that parents have found effective in their epileptic children include AC/DC and Cannatonic. Another item to note is that the anecdotal evidence for epileptic adults and high CBD strains is not as strong on the other hand. However, epileptic adults do report some success with quality Indicas that contain THC in more significant numbers as well as CBD. Patients can review strains that have been tagged with antiseizure qualities on AllBud’s Ailments Section.
Inspiring Stories While additional scientific research is needed—and while studies like this one are certainly promising—it is important to note that the anecdotal evidence itself

is not insignificant. There are many parents willing to testify to marijuana as a major factor in their kids’ health and wellbeing, and their testimonies convey power. For just one example, Google a story from 2013, about a young epileptic girl named Charlotte Figi, whose life was changed forever by the medicinal properties of—yes— Charlotte’s Web.

The KUNG FU POCKET RIG™ is manufactured with a dual titanium tungsten coil which is the best available, and does not put out harmful particles when heated. KUNG FU POCKET RIG™ is a medical device for smoking wax. It is equipped with a variable battery and a medicalgrade glass atomizer. With so many wax pens on the market, it’s easy to buy a product that you are not happy with. Let me tell you from personal experience, don’t waste your money experimenting.
Once I tried the KUNG FU POCKET RIG™, it became the device that I measured all wax pens against. I took it with me to the Emerald Cup last weekend, excited to demonstrate its abilities, but I dropped it out of my jacket pocket while running up the hotel stairs. I have dropped it before, and it was pretty durable, but it didn’t stand a chance hitting the concrete from the second story. The medical grade glass shattered into pieces, and I was immediately depressed. I was 10 hours from home (where my spare

The 2014 Emerald Cup
By: Stephanie Shehan
The weekend of December 13th, The Emerald Cup made its highly anticipated return to the Sonoma County Fairgrounds in Santa Rosa, CA and we, at Vegas Cannabis Magazine were fortunate enough to attend. Known in the industry for setting the highest standards for sustainable, sun-grown, outdoor cannabis, The Emerald Cup is one gathering that all cannabis enthusiasts should plan to attend. Catering to over 10,000 attendees over the two-day event, it was evident that The Emerald Cup truly is the world’s largest, organic, medicinal cannabis competition. Encompassing a wide array of competitors, vendors, speakers and music, this year’s event proved to be everything that we had hoped for.
with one of the oldest and most established medicinal marijuana growing communities,” said Tim Blake. “We have endeavored to keep our methods and our products pure and free from toxins. As a group, we have amassed an enormous amount of experience and expertise, which we enjoy sharing with fellow farmers each

year at The Emerald Cup.” The event is named for the area in Mendocino and Humboldt known as The Emerald Triangle, widely regarded for producing the world’s finest cannabis. It is a community celebration honoring the year’s finest, sun-grown, medicinal cannabis harvest. This year, with the addition of the edibles, topicals, and expanded CBD contests, Tim Blake and The Emerald Cup team expected to receive approximately 300 entries. Much to their surprise and probably a good indication of the strength that the cannabis community is rapidly gaining, this year, the team received a total of 898 entries. In all, there were 653 flower entries, 86 concentrate entries, 92 edible entries and 67 entries in the topical category. Congratulations to Mr. Joe Peinado for conquering the flower competition with his Sweet Serenade strain. Attendees residing in California that possessed their California Medical Marijuana recommendations were allowed entry into the
“215 Area” which enabled them to interact with and sample offerings from local dispensaries and collectives, many of which had entered their products in to the various contests. Music headliners for the 2014 event included Slightly Stoopid, who has amassed incredible success in their nearly two decades as a band, Stick Figure, who creatively blends upbeat roots reggae with the reverberating echoes of dub, and HIRIE, the female-fronted band who stormed onto the reggae music scene in 2013 with the release of their first single “Sensi Boy.” Also performing was Santa Cruz based, Thrive, with their unique sound in the ever-growing genre of reggae/rock music, Tribal Seeds, known for their spiritually driven, reggae infused rock vibe and The Wheeland Brothers who emulate that “beach rock reggae” vibe. The musicians we interacted with backstage were just as uplifting and positive as the music they played. Look for features on bands such as Thrive and Hirie
in upcoming issues of Vegas Cannabis Magazine. Over the course of the two-day event, more than two dozen panelists were on hand leading ground-breaking seminars and discussions on: Advanced Organic Farming Methodology and Cutting Edge Practices, Families and Cannabis, The Future of Targeted Cannabinoid Therapy, Cannabis Legalization, and more. The key speaker roster included cannabis pioneers such as Jeffrey Lowenfels, an award-winning author and garden columnist for the Anchorage Daily News, Jorge Cervantes, dubbed the “pied piper of pot” after he published the critically acclaimed book, Marijuana Horticulture a.k.a The Indoor Bible and Doug Fine, a bestselling author and freelance journalist whose book, Hemp Bound: Dispatches from the Front Lines of the Next Agricultural Revolution, is about the billiondollar worldwide hemp industry that’s about to emerge. Also on hand, were Ed Rosenthal, the world’s leading expert on the
cultivation of marijuana and Jennie Stormes, a registered nurse from Hope Township, New Jersey who has made public, her son Jackson’s struggle with seizures from Dravet Syndrome as she pushes for access to medicinal marijuana. It is obvious why cannabis enthusiasts return to The Emerald Cup year after year. It was an experience like no other and quite refreshing to witness the advances of the California cannabis community. Hopefully soon, prohibition will end and Las Vegas, as well as other states, can enjoy gatherings such as this. Thank you to Tim Blake, Yvonne Hendrix and the entire Emerald Cup team for allowing us to attend this phenomenal event. The Grow Room By: Anthony Ray Savala, Sr.
With the Emerald Cup all wrapped up and the New Year beginning, I wanted to sit down and give some nutrient pointers and guidelines for new growers. I have found that there are at least three types of beginner growers: The first type of new grower is the guy or gal that wants to grow the cheapest. This type of grower typically invests in a one-part, do it all formula and hopes for the best. These growers will grow something, but it will be nowhere near what it could have been. If you grow cheaply, you are bound to get a cheap harvest. Don’t get me wrong, you will produce plants, and as a new grower it may seem awesome, but it will not be much and the time and energy that has been wasted could have been directed towards a bigger and better harvest. The second type of new grower starts inexpensively but has done a little more research prior to starting. I call this the slightly educated grower or, dabbler for short. This type of grower will normally pick a 3-part formula and maybe even an additive, but
most likely not. If they do pick up an additive, it is because they did enough research or spoke with someone with enough knowledge to give them a push in the right direction. This harvest will have a better overall quality and you will get more weight. In my opinion, this is the best way to start as a new grower. This brings us to the third kind of new grower. This type of grower is the kind the grow stores absolutely love because they will buy everything available at the grow shop. Typically referred to as the “over doer” or self-proclaimed expert which you will find a lot of when growing. These growers tend to waste more time and money than any other type of grower and their harvest always fluctuates, because they are always changing their setup and never really allowing themselves to find what works for them and their environment. They usually will not listen to experienced growers or the grow shop owners because they believe that they know it all. If growers such as this would relax and just listen, they would have phenomenal gardens.
Vegas Cannabis Magazine • JANUARY 2015 • 30
Following are my recommendations for new growers to help them achieve an awesome success rate: My top recommendation for nutrients is always General Hydroponics Nutrients. I have found that new growers starting fairly simple have the best success rates hands down compared to the other type of new grower that buys everything the store has to offer. The grower that uses every product they can get their hands on actually over does it and ends up hurting the harvest instead of pumping it up. I recommend General Hydroponics because I have found that growers that use their 3-part system rarely have purpling from magnesium deficiency or leaf droop from silica deficiency which are two of the serious issues when using some other brands. General Hydroponics actually started back in the 1970’s when they designed their 3-part formula for NASA. With the General Hydroponics 3-part formula nothing else is required, no supplemental nutrients, additives or PH adjusting are necessary. Every teaspoon is
132 ppm no matter which bottle you get it from and when mixed together there is room still to make minor adjustments as you learn more and become a more experienced grower. For instance, if you have a 600-1000 watt garden, and everything is happy and healthy, you likely want to mix some nutrients in around or close to 1000 ppm (parts per million.) I recommend making one gallon at a time until you get used to it and become more experienced. Remember, with General Hydroponics every teaspoon from every bottle equals 132 ppm, which simplifies things so the order in which you mix is not important. The three-part system from General Hydroponics includes products called GROW, MICRO and BLOOM. If the bottle calls for one teaspoon of GROW which is 132 ppm and two teaspoons of MICRO which is 132 ppm x 2 (264 ppm), together, we are at 396 ppm. The last bottle of the nutrient system, BLOOM, indicates three teaspoons be added which is 132 ppm x 3 (396 ppm.) After adding the 375 ppm from the BLOOM to the 396 ppm from the GROW AND MICRO, our total is brought to 792 ppm which is a perfect number. If you want to put another splash of BLOOM to bring it to as close to 1000 ppm as possible go for it or you can use that extra space in your ppm for supplements or additives. . SUPPLEMENTS: The main reason you may need to add supplements is if you use certain water filtration systems such as Reverse Osmosis (RO) which removes Mg+ and Si+ ions. If you are using a Reverse Osmosis system, you can add Mg+ to fill the gap in ppm and replenish
the Mg+ that the Reverse Osmosis removed. Also, if you are to the point of adding Mg+ you will probably need a little Si+ as well to find a good balance. ADDITIVES: Additives are a bit different. These are usually growth triggers such as sugars or electrolytes. The N-P-K ratios on additives are almost always lower than 1-1-1, only slightly increasing ppm’s and tend to affect PH more than nutrients. Adding a sweetener or sugars does not change the total ppm because it is a 0-0-1 product so the nutrients remain the same even after adding sugars or sweeteners. Please remember, ADDITIVES DO NOT FIX PROBLEMS. Only add them if everything else is going right. Through trial and error, growers become more experienced and skilled, and with experience comes more interesting things to learn about like guanos, active teas, and microbes. Advanced growing will be covered in a future article. Anthony Savala is from Stockton, California and is known to many in the area as “The Compassionate Caregiver.” He has been a cannabis advocate and grower for the last twenty years.

Enter the Red Dragon By: Bill Shehan
In 2010, with the explosion of the medical marijuana industry in Las Vegas, a group of urban growers took it upon themselves to begin an epic journey into medical marijuana community acceptance. Initially it began with sheer industry excitement and the possibility of being deemed legitimate, but over time developed in to a quest to
operate as a legal business. It didn’t take long for the community members and patients they were interacting with and assisting to shed a new light on the real reasons that this group of growers had embarked on this venture. The people of our community were in desperate need of quality, affordable medicine and lacked the knowledge and experience to obtain it on their own. Red Dragon Brotherz was formed when a few local medical marijuana patients banded together under Nevada’s previous Medical Marijuana Consulting license. With their immense growing experience and knowledge, members of the Red Dragon Brotherz began to openly assist other local medical marijuana patients, who lacked the experience or mobility

to manage a self-sustaining and affordable avenue of natural, organic medicine. Red Dragon Brotherz Grow team and MMJ Specialists was formed with the mission to change the community’s perspective on what was possible when patients collectively band together and share experience, knowledge, and medicine.
Vegas Cannabis Magazine had the opportunity to sit down with Red Dragon Brotherz Grow Team, here is what they had to say VCM: What exactly is the “Red Dragon Brotherz” brand? RED DRAGON BROTHERZ: We are a group of Las Vegas based medical marijuana patients, that have come together to fill a gap in the medical marijuana community. By joining together and standing as one, we have been able to increase awareness, teach self-sustaining grow techniques and consult inexperienced patients of their rights and responsibilities as medical marijuana cardholders. VCM: What are the Red Dragon Brotherz currently working on? RED DRAGON BROTHERZ: Since enactment of the new laws in June 2013 (SB374), Red Dragon Brotherz is currently working with a production company on branding a line of edibles, concentrates, and oils. We are looking to brand any edibles company that was not able to acquire a license and would like to work in a fully-legal kitchen. We are currently in the market for good product ideas which we will brand under the Red Dragon Brotherz name. VCM: Any local events in Red Dragon Brotherz future? RED DRAGON BROTHERZ: We are working on acquiring the correct license(s) to reopen the 420 Cannabis/Hemp Museum sometime soon in 2015! In addition, we are working in association with
H1GH HOPES CAREGIVERS Industry Event Promotions to hold a two-day medical marijuana community event. The Las Vegas Cannabis Championship will take place over 420 weekend this year on April 18th and 19th. Patient judging, vendors, booths, sponsors, food, music, and raffles/giveaways will be the events standard. Anyone interested in booth, vending or sponsor spaces, please contact HHCLIVES@GMAIL. COM. We look forward to collaborating with and assisting H1GH HOPES CAREGIVERS Industry Event Promotions to become an example to the medical marijuana community. It is our goal to create an annual event that all medical marijuana patients can attend and enjoy. We look forward to a great year in 2015! VCM: Any last words? RED DRAGON BROTHERZ: Our local dispensaries are set to open in 2015. Once open, keep an eye out for Red Dragon Brotherz branded and recognized products. Don’t see them? Ask the dispensary Budtender to look into carrying them.
VCM: Thank you for your time and information. We wish you the best and look forward to seeing more from the Red Dragon Brotherz. RED DRAGON BROTHERZ GROW TEAM & MMJ SPECIALISTS COMING SOON TO A MEDICAL MARIJUANA DISPENSARY NEAR YOU! Photos By: Bill Shehan
