UFC Superstar and Cannabis Icon >>> Along with Co-Founder Matt Staudt Develop a Unique Line of Wellness Products
>>> NATE DIAZ n this month’s issue we take an in-depth look at GAME UP ® Nutrition - one of the longest running and largest CBD companies in the world co-founded and co-owned by UFC SuperStar and cannabis icon Nate Diaz as well as ask their COO and fellow co-founder Matt Staudt some questions who is also known for starting and operating the High Rollerz Jiu Jitsu tournaments held here in Las Vegas. STEPHANIE SHEHAN: How did GAME UP® start? MATT STAUDT: GAME UP ® was started in 2018, the same year USADA officially allowed CBD in all sports as a result of Nate famously hitting his vape pen post fight at UFC 202. The Diaz brothers had been using CBD & cannabis for years already, as had I, and we’ve been fully sold on its tremendous value. They deserve the credit for being the most vocal professional athletes around cannabis & CBD use when it mattered the most to speak up. Now everyone has a sponsorship in the space and talks about it openly because it’s not a problem anymore. One of my favorite things about Nate is that he will only promote what he really believes in and does himself. He chooses to be real, even if it means sacrificing money. Thankfully his and Nick’s honesty has made a tremendous impact on sports as a whole and brought them both tremendous opportunities. After a lot of thought, discussion and planning we decided to self-fund and bring this brand to life with the goal of organically building towards being the best in the world. With almost 4 years in business we continue our mission - steady and sustainable growth and the best products we can offer. SS: What products are offered by GAME UP®? Will there be additional products added in the future? MS: What started with only two CBD products has grown steadily and organically into an offering of almost 50 top quality products and variations along with a recent expansion into functional mushrooms and superfoods. We will continue to bring new products we believe in to market.

On average we are currently bringing one new product to market every month. SS: I love that your line offers isolate, broad spectrum and full-spectrum CBD products. Are the lab results available to consumers? MS: We have been methodical about our approach to our product offering. We understand there is a wide range of the type of consumer of CBD and the reasons for its use. To ensure we covered all needs every single one of our CBD oils is very different, not just flavored differently. As you mentioned we offer CBD isolate, broad and full-spectrum formulas as well as enhanced CBG & CBN formulas. All of our products are manufactured in a GMP lab and every batch is tested by two separate fully accredited 3rd party labs which we then share on our website. Almost all of our products have a QR code on the label. If this is followed it will bring the customer directly to the master lab reports page for all our results. SS: Where can consumers purchase the GAME UP® products? MS: We have always done very well direct to consumers via our website gameupnutrition.com and some of our non-CBD products like our new GREENS Superfood are also available on Amazon. We are additionally carried in a range of stores across America. Most recently we were proud to have supplied long-time Las Vegas staple Dotty’s Casino with our products who now carry our CBD topicals in their many stores across southern Nevada. SS: Do you offer a THC product line? If so, tell me about that. If not, will we see one in the future? MS: Currently we do not offer THC products but we are excited to have a very specific and special product to us in the works and coming to market soon. Without being a bit further along I can’t say much more than it will be very different than everything else out there and a step into the future of where

we feel this industry is headed. We are excited and the product should be available this year! SS: Anything new coming up that you’d like to share with us? MS: Sure. We have a number of exciting things we’re looking forward to. One of the bigger moves we’ve been working on this year has been launching abroad. At the moment we are on track to have our products manufactured and distributed in four European countries in order to serve some of our International customers who have not been able to purchase our products legally. Additionally, as mentioned above we have been expanding our product line to include a number of functional mushroom products as well as our first superfood formula. Our goal for this brand was always larger than CBD and we are now going to
start showing that more through our new products. Our vision for GAME UP® has always been a collection of great, all-natural and organic products that are sourced from nature. We love plant-based anything, we love mushrooms and we love health. We only just dropped our GREENS Superfood and it’s been selling very well and receiving great feedback. We currently have ashwagandha gummies and a keto electrolyte formula in development and testing. SS: How can readers stay up to date with GAME UP®? MS: Follow us on Instagram @gameupnutrition. MUSIC SPOTLIGHT
>>>WARREN HAYNES Grammy Award-winning vocalist, songwriter, guitar legend, and producer Warren Haynes of renowned quartet Gov’t Mule opens up about cannabis and creativity as Gov’t Mule kicks off their tour throughout the remainder of 2022 in support of their critically acclaimed blues album, “Heavy Load Blues” (Fantasy Records). Jennifer Walker: Thank you for talking with us today, we know that things have been busy with your tour. I’m joined here today by our freelance/honorary staff musician, Jason, to ask a few music-related questions: Jason Walker: Thanks for allowing me to sit in! Warren Haynes: Absolutely, great meeting you guys. Jennifer: We were so excited to see you perform at Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas on June 18th! How many times have you played Las Vegas? Warren: Over my career? Maybe 20? A lot! I haven’t performed in Vegas as much as some places, but definitely quite a few times. Jennifer: There is a cannabis strain named after Gov’t Mule. Did you have anything to do with that? Warren: Appropriately so, I would think (laughs) It’s been something that we’ve talked about for a long time because the whole legalization thing has been such a slow moving process, that it’s long overdue. Jennifer: Yes, and to your point, with recreational legalization throughout so much of the
16
United States, it really is upsetting that there were people just a couple of years ago going to prison for consuming cannabis like it was some kind of catastrophe. Some of these people are still in prison, now... Warren: Yes, absolutely. I also remember when Nevada was much more strict. Thankfully that changed at some point, I think the casino industry probably had a lot to do with that change, and realizing that there was no reason to exclude a demographic and not cater to them. But years ago when I first started playing Vegas, the cannabis laws were very strict. Jennifer: Cannabis plays a part in the creative process for some people, particularly artists and musicians. Do you consume cannabis during your creative process or find that it inspires you? Warren: Oh yea, it’s very creative from an improvisation standpoint and from a writing standpoint- it always has been. A lot of great music through the ages has been created and performed under the influence of cannabis. Most definitely some of that would be my music. Jennifer: There is a bit more of a corporate element to cannabis now, the way that it’s produced and marketed. A certain sativa strain will cause this reaction, or an indica strain might make you feel 100% this way, etc. At the end of the day, though, it’s all weed! Warren: Yea, to a certain extent, but I do see the value of knowing what you’re getting in advance. I don’t always agree with the label assessments, but there are different times of your work day that may cause you to want to be under the

influence of something different, maybe something light and airy. Then at the end of the day, maybe something a little heavier. Or, the reverse! It depends on the individual. Jennifer: You’re on tour now and heading to Europe later on in the tour, as well. I noticed Amsterdam is on the roster... Warren: Yes we’re on tour now, we’ve done a handful of shows and in July we’re going to Europe for the first time in several years. We’re excited about that and trying to make up for lost time. I always enjoy stopping in Amsterdam and performing. We don’t always include it in our tour, but I’m glad it’s included this time. Jennifer: For many years, Amsterdam had been one of the only places where public cannabis consumption was legal. Performing there in the past and having that experience must have been pretty cool! Warren: Yea, that’s where Bill Clinton supposedly smoked weed legally (laughs)... Jason: Ha! Yes. Getting back to creativity and cannabis, I find that after consuming a little cannabis as I’m holding my guitar, sometimes the ideas start coming through even before my fingers touch the strings. Do you have any Gov’t Mule riffs that you’re particularly proud of that were definitely joint-influenced riffs? Warren: I think there would be too many to pinpoint (laughs)...I actually do enjoy arranging music while I’m under the influence of cannabis. Especially in the 80’s and 90’s, a lot of the writing that I was doing was under the influence. A good example would be the song, “Bad Little Doggie” which was written in the studio when we needed one more up tempo song. I came up with a riff, Woody came up with a riff, then we started putting stuff together very quickly. The

MUSIC SPOTLIGHT writing process can be benefitted by cannabis. A friend of mine used to say, “when I smoke, it puts music in my head”. I don’t disagree with that. Jason: Your record, “Life Before Insanity” is one of my favorites, and I actually saw you guys perform at the Huntridge Theater here in Vegas back in the late 90’s. Speaking of fantastic performances, in 2007 I flew out to London, England to attend the Led Zeppelin reunion, and as I was standing in line, there you were, right in front of me! Were you able to smoke before that show, as an audience member? Warren: The Zeppelin show? Absolutely! I had become friends with John Paul Jones and we played together at Bonnaroo, he joined Gov’t Mule on stage. We became immediate friends. One night after a Gov’t Mule show I was with friends and family, and got an email from John Paul Jones’ manager saying that John wanted us to be his guests at the Zeppelin reunion show. I thought my wife was gonna jump for joy! When we made it to the show, we were seated in the audience as John’s guests, amongst many other well known American musicians in this one little section. The next night, John threw a “Pickin’ Party” and we were all invited. When we got there, I realized it was mostly Bluegrass musicians, Johnny Cash’s son was there, and everybody was just sittin’ around playing Bluegrass. As a memoir, he had a wallsized photo from the Zeppelin reunion show featuring all of us seated in the audience. It was such a cool, thoughtful thing to do. Jason: Sometimes THC can do certain things to people’s vocal cords and it makes it hard to sing, no matter how it’s consumed (edible, flower, etc.) Have you noticed any issues with your vocal abilities while consuming cannabis? Warren: Edibles are out of the question- they affect the voice in a very detrimental way from a performance standpoint (not from a long term standpoint). I’ve noticed that my voice
is clearer when I don’t smoke, if I want that clearer sound, and it lasts longer. But there were times in the studio that I actually liked the way my voice sounded if I smoked a little bit. It’s a toss up for me between how much I enjoy it while playing, and how much it helps me to not do it when I’m singing… Jason: Yes, I’m always afraid of consuming too much before I get on stage and think, am I accidentally going to play that bridge again? Ya know…that type of thing… Warren: Yea, I like that (laughs)...I don’t mind that. That bridge might need to be played again and you just then figured it out. Jennifer: Is your Blues album, “Heavy Load Blues”, one of the more proper Blues albums that you guys have done together? Warren: For me, it’s the only really traditional Blues album that I’ve done. I really wanted to make a Blues record and not a Blues-Rock record; I didn’t want it to sound like a Rock band playin’ Blues. I wanted to sound as traditional as possible but still have the Gov’t Mule personality. For us, there was a definite procedure involved, a definite line we didn’t wanna cross…but we get close sometimes. Like the version of Howlin’ Wolf’s, “I Asked For Water” is pretty heavy, it’s the heaviest song on the
record. But then there’s “Heavy Load” and “Black Horizon” that are stripped down, acoustic and very traditional. And there’s all the stuff in between- cleaner, vintage guitar sounds, old amps, old guitars. We had a bare bones set up and everything was live and we would record late at night, which is the way you should do Blues. All of that added to the vibe. Jennifer: What else is on the horizon for Gov’t Mule? Warren: We recorded two albums at the same time, the other album which is going to come out early 2023 is more in line with what people would expect from Gov’t Mule; it’s unlike anything we’ve done, but it’s more like the follow up to “Revolution Come… Revolution Go”. That’s how we spent our time during the lockdown: making two records. I spent a lot of time writing and when we were finally able to be around eachother, we spent a lot of time in the studio and made these two records- both of which I'm extremely proud. JBIRD and Cross Country Wellness BRING QUALITY CBD PRODUCTS TO NEVADA
Jordan Bergsrud aka JBIRD has been a staple in the Nevada cannabis industry for years. I originally met him when he was a budtender at Jenny’s Dispensary. He has since been named Cannabis Activist of the Year, he does work with the Chamber of Cannabis, and is the Founder and CEO of Cross Country Wellness. I recently had the chance to sit down with him to find out more about his company and what they offer.
STEPHANIE SHEHAN: Tell me about yourself - what led you to the cannabis industry ? Jordan Bergsrud: I was born and raised in Memphis TN. I’m the oldest of 5. I have 4 brothers and 1 sister who’s made me the proudest Uncle to a 10-year-old niece and a 5-year-old nephew (and one in the oven). I have an amazing girlfriend Angelina and I’m a stepdad to her two beautiful children. We have 5 dogs and a bearded dragon so it's never a dull moment here! I love the outdoors, hiking and kayaking and spending quality time with my family and friends. I love to cook, and I love food. I’m an entrepreneur, a friend, and a leader; I'm the difference I want to see in the world and strive to be the most elite version of myself daily. I lost my dad to an accidental overdose of pain pills in 2015 which ultimately led me to having the passion to want to help people get off opiates with a plant-based medicine and I knew cannabis was it. That's where my passion for CBD ultimately stems from. SS: Tell me about your team. JBIRD: First and foremost, I have the greatest team ever. I could write a book about how much they mean to me and how I strive to be better for them daily. Zack Williams is our CMO. He’s been a friend of mine from Memphis for over 10 years and has provided the truest example of what going above and beyond looks like. He’s one of the smartest and hardworking individuals that I know. His networking skills and visionary mindset always keeps us ahead of the curve and helps us pivot when necessary. I love you dude!

Jim Bergan is our OGM- Old Grumpy Man. Owner and founder of “Weed Be Better Off” the greatest clothing brand for the cannabis industry. He’s my mentor and one of my best friends. He also has ownership in a large cannabis company in West Virginia currently
running and operating this facility where they are killing it! Miss you daily man but I know it's for the good. I’m so glad we crossed paths. He tells me all the time to be the eagle in a world full of crows- They might peck at ya, but you’re an eagle and you can fly higher than crows can. Love you Jimbo Kevin Kelley is our Brand Ambassador and one of our sponsored athletes. He’s just completed the Appalachian Trail and hiked 2200 miles from Georgia to Maine only using Cross Country Wellness products for his feet and inflammation and sleeping in the wilderness for 6 months, consecutively. What’s crazy is he did all this on purpose. You can go check his adventures out on YouTube as he recorded every day on the trail. Go look up KKONTRAIL on YouTube and I guarantee it's going to pop up. Much love to him, I cannot thank him enough for what he does! We just hired our first full time employee as well that actually starts today as I’m writing this; how crazy! SS: When did you begin Cross Country Wellness? And what made you decide to take the leap into the CBD industry? JBIRD: Cross Country Wellness officially was launched January 1st, 2020. Losing my father was the first driving factor but I didn’t realize it at first. After Budtending roughly 20,000 people in my career, recognizing the habitual patterns of humans and understanding the majority of the pain points that people were using cannabis for, I noticed patterns. Chronic pain, lack of sleep/insomnia, anxiety, having their version of a beer after work (recreational), and inflammation is what causes the most discomfort and pain. As I learned and dug deeper, I realized that CBD has been and was the most effective in these areas based on actual human testimony once they found their therapeutic dose. SS: Tell me about your products, what does your company offer? JBIRD: As of right now we only have 4 SKUS. We have the Las Vegas Cannabis Awards “Topical of the Year Las Vegas 2021”, a 500mg full spectrum salve. We have two strengths of tinctures at 1000mg and 2500mg. Our best seller is our capsules which are 750mg per bottle 30 capsules in a bottle at 25 mg each. They are great for finding your therapeutic dose
and they are budget friendly. SS: What types of ailments can CBD help with/what do people typically use your products for? JBIRD: As I mentioned before there’s a ton of people who suffer from chronic pain, lack of sleep, muscle aches and pains, arthritis, migraines, cramps, the list can go on and on! My new target lately has been athletes that put their bodies to the test daily and need the sleep and recovery benefits that CBD offers. The topical is a game changer in our ultra-marathon runners and MMA community, our hiking community and body building community as well. It's awesome to see the diversification of who takes it. SS: What do you tell people when they are unsure how much CBD to take? JBIRD: This is my favorite way to educate people because most at first are skeptical for whatever reason. I totally feel comfortable telling someone to take anywhere from 50mgs to 100mgs, because we need to have a starting point. If you achieve the same therapeutic desired effects that you get by taking 100mgs as you do 50mgs, you can see if taking 25 mgs will get you the same results. If not, you know your therapeutic dose is about 50mgs per serving. Make sense? Insta / FB / TikTok @crosscountrywellness @jbird_ccw

Consumption Lounges >>>
Nevada’s Cannabis Compliance Board announced its final consumption lounge regulations Tuesday, ending a months-long process of promulgation that involved industry advocates, representatives, and stakeholders at every level. Announced during the CCB’s monthly public meeting, the regulations are the result of months of efforts by the CCB, its staff, industry licensees, and industry organizations like the Chamber of Cannabis, to fulfill the mandate established by the passing of AB 341 during the 81st Legislative Session. The CCB’s last workshop on April 29, 2022 was announced on the heels of the Clark County Commission’s public meeting on lounges, held on April 19, 2022. During the County’s public meeting, members of the Chamber of Cannabis and lobbyist Scot Rutledge engaged in an extended dialogue with county commissioners, and in some cases, were tasked with bringing questions and concerns to the CCB. “The Chamber’s purposeful dialogues with the CCB during this process have resulted in adjustments to the proposed NCCRs that will better position new lounge licensees for success,” said President Tina Ulman. “We look forward to maintaining productive conversations with regulators as we work together to tackle the myriad challenges facing our space.” In addition to facilitating dialogue between regulators, legislators, and its members, Chamber members also provided crucial insight into the process of promulgation during April’s CCB workshop. “The Chamber's impactful and inclusive approach to coalition building allows its members to work in tandem with industry stakeholders, community members, regulators, and legislators in a uniquely powerful way,” said Secretary Bri Padilla. “We are also not working alone. The success of this promulgation process
hinged on the participation of industry and community members alike.” In particular, the Chamber’s feedback helped provide practical solutions to a wide range of concerns and questions brought to light through the workshop process, said Scot Rutledge of Argentum Partners, the Chamber’s lobbying partner. Founded in the fall of 2020 by cannabis professionals seeking to improve commerce, equity, and access in Nevada’s cannabis industry, the Chamber of Cannabis has quickly grown to a global coalition of more than 250 individuals and businesses. During the legislative session of 2021, the 501(c)(6) organization worked with Minorities for Medical Marijuana and Assemblyman Steve Yeager to draft and then pass AB 341, Nevada’s Consumption Lounge bill. Now one of the largest professional organizations in Nevada, the Chamber of Cannabis’s work to further cannabis policy while increasing opportunities for coalition building, business development, access, and equity will continue into the primary season. “The Chamber’s first meeting of 2020 connected the cannabis industry to

candidates who supported our cause,” said Vice President Dani Baranowski. “We are honored to continue the work of connecting our industry and leaders to resources, information, and opportunities for dialogue that remain essential to the growth of our industry.” According to Director Tyler Klimas of the CCB, lounge regulations will be announced during the CCB’s June public board meeting. The Chamber and its members will be seated in the front row, said Ulman. “With Las Vegas known as one of the hospitality capitals of the world, we are excited to see the innovation and growth these new businesses will propel in our city and state,” she said. The Chamber provides opportunities to connect, share resources, and collaborate with like-minded members — both online and off. Grounded in a culture dedicated to the community over individual glory, humility before pride, teamwork, and positivity, the Chamber of Cannabis is here to help shine a light on the incredible potential of Nevada’s cannabis industry. Harmonious CBD According to Doug, “CBD made of quality should follow a less-is-more mentality when it comes to dosage.”
Harmonious CBD is owned and operated, in Reno Nevada, by Doug Schraufnagle. The company has been in operation since 2018 and is one of the best CBD companies we have found. Previously a college writing teacher at Michigan State University, it was Doug’s own experience with CBD which led him to Harmonious. Knowing that he could effectively manage his own pain and anxiety and recover from injuries using CBD fueled Doug’s passion to help others do the same. And his previous teaching experience naturally flowed into assisting clients in setting their expectations and choosing quality cannabis applications that met their needs. “Cannabis and CBD in particular has an array of application methods such as topical, smokeable, and ingestible and we are still at the beginning of Aunderstanding them” notes Doug. “I am proud to be at the forefront of providing access to the simplest, most effective extractions we can find.” Doug and the Harmonious team believe the best quality source material is the secret to effectiveness. Harmonious CBD oil is proudly displayed so customers can see the clarity of the extraction. Their source material comes from a custom strain combination of Cherry Wine crossed with feral hemp, producing a natural 30:1 CBD to THC ratio in the flower. The quality ingredients allow the Harmonious team to encourage people to look for effects with lower doses than their competitors.
26
Harmonious CBD specializes in premium quality, full-spectrum CBD products. They provide tinctures and topicals using the simplest, all-natural and organic ingredients. Their product line features 500mg, 750mg, and 1500mg bottle sizes. “The concentration just means you take less oil at a time, so the bottle lasts longer with a higher dosage.” explains Doug. Their topicals come in 1-ounce jars and contain 500mg of CBD. They also offer a pain salve as well as a skin soothing salve for skin irritation and inflammation. And their newest product is an amazing, 25mg lip balm, which works wonderfully for the summer sun or winter wind. Most products offered by Harmonious are full spectrum as they believe that the entourage effect is an important part of the absorption process within the body. They do also offer isolate oil which contains only CBD (no other cannabinoids) for those that experience sensitivity to THC. Additionally, Harmonious offers a 500mg, full spectrum pet CBD oil that is unflavored and contains 0.3% THC which clients have used on a variety of animals from hamsters to horses. The team is currently working on providing a 2oz roll-on pain stick roll as well as an all-natural CBD energy drink made from tea. And, by next year, they hope to finish the development of their CBD infused beauty line. Unlike other CBD companies, the team at Harmonious is more than happy to guide their clients in choosing what works for them. With thousands of hours dedicated to one-on-one consultations over the last four years Harmonious CBD provides what few others can: a personalized, invested approach to customer service and education. Their phone is always open to those with questions about products or dosage guidance. Pain management, anxiety, and inflammation are the top categories that most of their customers report success with. With a quality, full spectrum oil they have found that most CBD users typically need between 5-10mg per day on the low side and
Reno Nevada upwards of 25-50mg on the high side. Doug notes that “everyone's bodies are different, and each person’s metabolism functions just a little differently” so he recommends that people think of CBD as a dietary supplement which requires a bit of fine tuning for the individual. “Sometimes results are found by adding, other times results show clearer by decreasing dosage.” says Doug. Keeping a journal is the Harmonious team’s best tip for consumers. When asked what Doug would like to see changed within the industry, he replied “The biggest change that would help the CBD industry is more stability in the regulations. Rules that are not equal across state and country lines cause a great deal of confusion for the consumers and producers of CBD. With a more uniform understanding of cannabis policy and lining up those policies with the American people who overwhelmingly support cannabis legalization would make a brand new world for these wonderful products.” Harmonious CBD products can be purchased online at HarmoniousCBD. com as well as at select retail locations throughout Nevada. To keep up with new product releases, follow Harmonious on Facebook and Instagram @ harmoniouscbd.

Budtender of the Month
Las Vegas
ALMOND CURMI Budtender at CURALEAF Almond Curmi is a budtender at Curaleaf in Las Vegas, Nevada. Making every patient feel special and treating them like family is what fuels his success. The work he puts in as a budtender has made him a rising star in the cannabis industry. What was your first industry job? My first job was as a budtender for Curaleaf. Now I’m a sales lead. My job is the best! What has been the most rewarding part of your budtending career? The most rewarding part for me was to be able to be rewarded for my knowledge of cannabis and move forward within my company so quickly What’s the most surprising thing you’ve learned since being in the cannabis industry?
28
In your opinion, what are three things a budtender must know/ do to be successful? I feel like the 3 most important things a budtender can do to be successful are being open to listen, taking initiative to find the best option possible, and try to remember your patients! It always makes them feel at home when you remember their preferences How do you stay up to date on the latest products and cannabis information? I love talking to vendors and customers. It’s the best way to get honest opinions and recommendations. I love being educated from all sides of the spectrum What is your favorite topic to educate a customer on? I would say my favorite thing to educate someone on is the pain relief benefits cannabis can give. I struggled with chronic pain issues for years but once I found the correct terpene combination the chronic pain became a faint memory. I love helping patients find the perfect mix and hearing all the feedback after! What’s your favorite way to consume?
Not everyone is born with the cannabis receptors for edibles. It connected so many dots for me because edibles have never worked for me. It’s good to know I wasn’t alone!
I’ve always loved flower but my favorite way to consume right now has been through dabbing. Something about the smooth hits from my Huni Badger just hit differently!
What kind of challenges do you face as a budtender?
Do you have any favorite cultivators?
You can’t always please everyone. I’ve definitely had to learn that lesson the hard way but I strive to please as many consumers as possible
If I had to pick a favorite cultivator I would have to be a toss up between Srene and Binske. Two of the top quality cultivators in my opinion
Has your smoking habits changed since becoming a budtender?
What are you been smoking on?
In a sense, yes. I feel like I’m more cautious of what I consume whether that be the terpenes or the flower in general. I love being in a state that fully tests all products
Currently smoking on that Fruity P by Srene and dabbing on Platinum Rose by Binske! Both are two of my highest recommendations

JOSHUA CLINE Budtender at PLANET 13 Josh Cline is one of the happiest budtenders you’ll come across. He’s always looking to lend a helping hand and he does it with a smile on his face. His wealth of cannabis knowledge and infectious positive energy is what has propelled him in the cannabis industry. You can find Josh doing his thing at Planet 13. What made you want to join the cannabis industry and what was your first industry job? I moved to Las Vegas from Charlotte, NC to pursue my passion for cannabis. My goal was to inform and teach others that this lovely plant is here to help with medical needs, mental state, and of course bring people together. The first industry job I had was a delivery driver for Planet 13. Now, I’m a budtender and love every day of work! Have your views/thoughts about cannabis changed since becoming a budtender? It’s more than just “getting high” nowadays. I used cannabis for recreational purposes before, but now being in the industry has helped me to use cannabis for my day to day needs in life. What’s the most satisfying part of budtending? Being able to educate new and everyday users about terpenes, CBD:THC ratios, Rick Simpson Oil…the list goes on! They really express how much they appreciate the time and effort I put into my passion and it feels like I’m making a difference! What’s your favorite topic you like to educate patients on? I love educating guests on terpenes. Seeing the
lightbulb go off in their heads really makes me happy. When I explain how Linalool (one of my favorite terpenes) helps alleviate stress and is naturally derived from lavender they get this itch to want to learn about terpenes so they know how these products will make them feel. If you had to give advice to a new budtender or someone looking to be a budtender, what would it be? Be patient and ask questions. The industry is very competitive so take your time, because all good things come to those who wait. Learn anything and everything you can and ask questions. There is never a stupid question! How do you stay up to date and informed on new products? Usually when I get to work I’ll walk the sales floor to get a feel of what’s new and up to date. We have a lot of access to training documents from vendors and fellow coworkers which helps a bunch. What’s your favorite way to consume? Flower Power! I absolutely love to roll joints or blunts, I look at it as a form of art. Rolling up a perfect joint after a long day of work or life in general is always my move. Do you prefer a high THC content or a really good terpene profile? I prefer a blend of both. High THC for me doesn’t make the effects last as long, but low terpenes don’t get a ton of flavor. I need the best of both worlds! What have you been smoking on? At the moment I’m currently smoking on smoke Kush Cookies flower by Virtue and Pineapple Fanta from Nature's Chemistry. Both are tasty and pack a punch!

Exploring Native American Involvement in Cannabis
As the subjects of diversity and inclusion in cannabis are finally being discussed on a larger scale, advocates for these progessive measures must remember to acknowledge and include those from communities that have been growing cannabis and hemp for centuries before the plant’s eventual prohibition. Native American, First Nations and other Indigenous communities, the communities that arrived here thousands of years before any European settlers and have suffered the absolute worst of continued atrocities and oppression committed upon them (even to this day). The true first inhabitants of the lands that we now live on who’s cultures and stories passed on through generations are rich in tradition and wisdom yet are continually excluded from history classes or outright changed to omit those atrocities committed upon them. Although there’s countless inhumane examples of how America has treated her Indigenous population, one such brutal instance occurred around 1877 to the Nez Perce people of what is now the Columbia River Plateau. After losing over 90 percent of their land to the US federal government via the Treaty of 1855 and much of which was considered sacred and ancestral, the Nez Perce people fought against pursuing onslaughts from the United States Army led by General Oliver Otis Howard across a span of a total of 1,170 miles. In what became known as the Nez Perce War or the Nez Perce Flight of 1877, several thousand Nez Perce people were either killed, wounded or for four hundred of their people, taken prisoner at Fort Leavenworth before being forced to live in the bug-infested swamps near Leavenworth. Even worse, the Nez Perce people weren’t allowed to return to their Pacific Northwest lands, now heavily exploited due to the gold rush, until 1885.
32
While both America and Canada have such a long way to go before even a hint of reconciliation can be recognized in response to the horrific programs
committed against Indigenous communities such as the residential schools, the resilient people from those very communities have been making a name for themselves and their cannabis businesses regardless. Due to various differences in tribal law versus US law, tribal-owned dispensaries are actually able to install programs that other stores can’t. The most notable example would be the Tasting Room at Nuwu, located on Paiute tribal land. However, the inclusion of Indigenous people in the cannabis industry is so much more complex than just the first consumption lounge in Las Vegas. Nuwu is actually just one of seven different Native-owned dispensaries in The Silver State and that number will likely increase in time. One such advocate for both Indigenous inclusion in cannabis and for the many long standing issues still facing Native American communities is Mary Jane Oatman. A proud member of the Nez Perce tribe, Oatman was raised in Kamiah, Idaho; a town of less than two thousand but a town with tremendous history and significance for the Nez Perce people. Besides the town containing some of the Nez Perce Indian Reservation, Oatman explained that Kamiah is partially the birthplace of the Nez Perce people as a whole. “We were raised with a strong upbringing of the gift of our landscape and recognition of the different responsibilities that come with those gifts.” Oatman explained. “From a really early age, it’s instilled, from many generations passed down, that we have a responsibility to each other as relatives. A part of that fabric of relationships includes all things: plants, animals, water. It’s a rich upbringing in our homeland and learning about my place in our landscape with the creation story of the Nez Perce people.” Even though the cannabis plant has great cultural significance in
BY: josh kasoff many Indigenous cultures, several reservations were raided by the DEA for cannabis cultivation for years on end. Two such individuals arrested and imprisoned for cannabis cultivation were Oatman’s very own grandparents. Along with being proudly Indigenous, Oatman has served advisory roles pertaining to Indigenous matters as revered as being an appointee in President Obama’s National Advisory Council on Indian Education. Around the early parts of Obama’s second term, the first drafts of the 2014 Farm Bill that would eventually decriminalize hemp nationally were being crafted. Despite the bill being far-reaching and allowing the thousands of skilled American farmers to grow one of the most multi-useful crops in the cornucopia of agriculture, Indigenous reservations and tribal lands were inexplicably excluded from the legislation. As the plant is incredibly useful regardless of one’s geographic location and a crop that had been grown for millennia since the first Indigenous people came to what became The Americas, the exclusion of Native reservations was surprising. Upon moving back to Idaho, Oatman began to notice how common Indigenous exclusion was from the many pieces of hemp and cannabis-related legislation filed in the following years. When California fully legalized in 2017, no language pertaining to Native inclusion and legalization on reservations were included in Proposition 64. “I realized that tribes had been left out of the Farm Bill yet states were legalizing at a rapid pace. After 2017, I started to pay more attention to the lack of inclusion of Indigenous people and perspectives in the cannabis legalization that was happening and also noting that there were many tribes that were doing some amazing economic development and activities.” While reservations were eventually included into the historic 2018 Farm Bill, this blatant example of exclusion stayed
Nevada's Original Cannabis Resource // Since 2014
with her. Even more unjustly, several reservations were raided by the DEA between 2014 and 2018 for cultivating hemp; the Menominee’s Wisconsin reservation in 2015 and the Winnemucca’s California reservation in 2017. And although Oatman had served with organizations that specialize in diversifying the cannabis industry and enjoyed her time doing so, tribal sovereignty and how it relates to cannabis reform was an issue that the organizations knew little about. “The strategy with the Indigenous Cannabis Coalition was two-fold. There was a lot of external education about tribes and inclusivity of Indigenous communities as well as law and policies. But there was a lot of internal education and advocacy and negative stigma that needed to be worked on in our Indigenous communities, respectfully. And so that’s exactly what we set up to do with Indigenous Cannabis Coalition. Protection and preservation of Indigenous plants and communities through the preservation of stories.” Oatman explained that tribes often didn’t work together when related to matters of tribal sovereignty and with federal legalization certainly being a matter of when and not if anymore, she believes that a group like Indigenous Cannabis Coalition is a perfect organization to fortify both Indigenous representation in the cannabis industry as well as ensuring that Nativeowned canna-businesses focus on “cannabis commerce nation to nation” as well as tribal sovereignty. “With the Indigenous Cannabis Coalition and with Tribal Hemp and Cannabis Magazine, we are taking on a great burden of archiving oral stories if tribes are willing to reshare them for the preservation of future generations. That’s why I think it’s important we elevate the Indigenous plant perspective within the larger national cannabis conversation because with that is a restoration of the sacrament of smoke.” The ICANNC’s mission statement is one that greatly aligns with why Oatman founded this organization to begin with.
“The ICANNC's Mission is to provide education to and for Indigenous communities, elevating First Nations economies and promoting traditional and spiritual use.” the statement reads. Along with the multi-faceted mission statement, the organization also follows three values: Educating, Elevating and Promoting, and Social Equality and Racial Justice. With the publication of Tribal Hemp and Cannabis Magazine, Oatman is able to highlight the Indigenous communities cementing the sacred importance of cannabis in their culture from tribes located across the States while also covering regulatory and legal matters that would likely impact Indigenous-owned canna-businesses. Las Vegas has been fortunate enough to have a living example of a consumption lounge on Paiute tribal land years before both the rest of the city (and the country) and a glimpse into the magnitude of those lounges. As it’s a tremendously successful dispensary, Las Vegans are getting a firsthand look into how prosperous cannabis businesses can be for Native communities. “Other tribes have taken the Nuwu model and they’re implementing it and rolling it out as well. Just last week, the Winnemucca Indian colony opened up their cannabis cafe and the Reno Sparks Indian Colony was the first drive-thru dispensary in Reno.” On behalf of ICANNC and Tribal Hemp and Cannabis Magazine, Oatman attended some of the largest cannabis events and conventions in town. CannaMucca 2021, the 6th Native American Cannabis & Hemp Conference in California and most recently, Oatman had the distinct honor of being a panelist on the Honoring the Roots of Cannabis Culture panel at this year’s G4Live Expo in Las Vegas. “There have been several roundtable discussions about federal legalization that have left tribes out. Since the inception of the Indigenous Cannabis Coalition, we’ve been working real hard to make sure to provide those public comments and to make sure our representation is being heard on the committees within the National Cannabis Industry Association
or that we have a relationship with the Minority Cannabis Business Association and Minorities for Medical Marijuana. Those other groups that are really moving the dial forward.” With the massive Nuwu store showing both Nevada and the country what is possible for Indigenous cannabis businesses, Oatman believes that Indigenous involvement in the cannabis industry is both of utmost importance and inevitable given the already completed work of tribes with cannabis businesses. “We have tribes that have done their due diligence to create those systems that have already tried to figure out what this nation to nation commerce looks like as far as bartering and trading from one state to the other or one reservation to the other. So it’s important that the multi-state operators and other companies out there see tribes as friends, not foes. I really am pushing for more of the cannabis community at large to listen to the Indigenous perspectives on plant medicine because we have been doing this on these homelands since time immemorial and have been doing it with regenerative farming practices on our own landscapes so this is nothing new. I think there’s a lot that can be learned from Indigenous communities about the reciprocity of these plant medicines.”

CBD and Hemp Products That Parents Can Trust
The Story of Hhemp.co Hhemp.co was founded with the goal of providing safe and trusted CBD and hemp flower products to help people. The constant creativity and innovation of founder and CEO Dr. Bao Le has propelled Hhemp.co to new heights. From its beginning product line of CBG and CBD hemp flower, HHemp.co now offers a growing catalog of 45 products, including tinctures and edibles. Hhemp.co is grounded in fair practices and builds deep relationships with like-minded farmers and supports them to thrive. As a result, Hhemp.co is able to offer farm-direct premium products at an affordable price. The Story Behind Hhemp.co Dr. Bao Le founded Hhemp.co as a parent looking for solutions to help his own son. He has two sons, aged 13 and 14. At 2 ½ years old, Dr. Le’s youngest son Andrew was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. At age 3, Andrew had his first grand mal seizure at the dinner table. Little Andrew’s body suddenly fell over, and the seizure lasted for 30 seconds. Soon he was having two or three seizures a day. Over the next few years, he was put on more and more pharmaceutical medications, with side effects that included anger and depression. “It was heartbreaking to see him go through that,” said Dr. Le. In 2011, Dr. Le heard about how CBD and THC can help with seizures. “Eventually, I said ‘enough is enough.’ As a parent, I was desperate to help my son,” said Dr. Le. He began slowly microdosing his son with CBD oil. After about 16 weeks of microdosing, Dr. Le was able to find a CBD dosage that worked for Andrew’s body. Soon he was able to finally rest at night and remain asleep instead of being
36
triggered by the hyperactivity in his brain. “Miraculously,” Dr. Le shared, “Andrew star ted sleeping longer and recovering. His seizure frequency and severity were steadily decreasing with the help of CBD, and he star ted growing again physically and developmentally after being stuck in a plateau caused by pharmaceutical medications.” Most importantly, Andrew’s personality began to shine through again, and he was able to socialize and interact with the help of CBD. According to Dr. Le, CBD truly changed his son’s life for the better. A year into this regimen, Andrew was off of all pharmaceutical medications and he has been seizure-free ever since. In those early days more than a decade ago, access to medical cannabis and hemp products was very different. “I was buying bottles of CBD oil with homemade printer labels on them,” said Dr. Le. “There were not a lot of regulations in the industry. You could not purchase CBD online or at a dispensary back then. As a parent, that was all I had, but I knew there had to be a better way.” Driven by the need to help his son, in 2015 Dr. Le applied for a cannabis extraction permit in the city of Berkeley, California. When he pitched the business to the mayor, Dr. Le was asked why he wanted to get into medical cannabis. “I told him as a parent I wanted to make ingredients that I trust for my son,” said Dr. Le. Back then, there were few regulations or required lab testing of medical cannabis. Dr. Le started a company with a few partners, and for five years he made medical cannabis extracts in California. Eventually, he connected with farmers growing hemp organically, and it opened his mind to consider the
>>>
CBD market. It was then that Dr. Le made the transition from the cannabis industry to the hemp space. Dr. Le began selling extracts to other companies that made vape pens, chocolate edibles, and other products. “When I told people I am going to make this tincture for my son, it helped people trust my products. I built my reputation and brand on compliance and safety,” said Dr. Le. Hhemp.co products allow people to use CBD, CBG, and other emerging hemp-derived cannabinoids for different conditions. “For example, our lollipops were created for someone I know who was experiencing anxiety and benefited from that dosage form. The chewable tablets were for my family member who needed help with back pain, but needed to watch their sugar intake,” said Dr. Le. Hhemp.co’s tincture line is a collaboration with a veterans’ charity to find alternative medicine for veterans, and 100% of the profits go toward groups that also aid veterans. Challenges in the CBD Market Dr. Le is no stranger to adversity in building a successful CBD brand in a constantly changing market. Just as Dr. Le was searching for answers for his son, he knows his consumers are looking for the best results possible through combinations of cannabinoids and terpenes. He found out firsthand about the healing benefits of CBD and CBG, which are two of the most wellknown cannabinoids found in cannabis and hemp. A lack of regulation in the CBD market can make it difficult for parents, caregivers, and consumers to find trustworthy products. Consumers face difficult choices in choosing CBD sources that are lab-tested to ensure products that are high quality and safe to consume. Dr. Le’s efforts to help his own son led to Hemp. co's reputation for trustworthiness, and safety. He founded Hhemp.co because he wanted other parents, caregivers, and consumers to have better, safer options than he did when he was starting out in search of solutions for his son. Differences in state laws and constantly
Nevada's Original Cannabis Resource // Since 2014
changing regulations make it difficult for CBD businesses and consumers to stay compliant with the latest rules. For example, Hhemp.co customers report that hemp-derived products infused with Delta-8 THC can provide a milder effect with fewer side effects than the THC we usually think of in cannabis (Delta-9 THC). Especially in states without medical or adult-use cannabis programs, Delta-8 THC can provide relief for people who need it most. But Delta-8 THC has been restricted in some states, and the laws are constantly changing, making it difficult for consumers to make decisions and for businesses to adapt. Hhemp.co is committed to quality and transparency so that consumers can know they are purchasing products from a trustworthy source. CBD Market Opportunities Dr. Le shared his strategy when he was starting out in CBD: “When I started Hhemp.co, I asked myself three questions: ‘Does it work? Is it costeffective? And is it packaged and branded well enough to be sold in shops, stores, and gas stations?’” Getting to the final product was no simple feat, as Dr. Le’s research and development (R&D) involved many trials with different formulations and ratios of ingredients. Real people sampled the products, and the feedback was all taken in to perfect the end result. Focusing on wellness and trust in the CBD industry works. These days, much of Hhemp.co’s line employs a special CBD and CBG blend to grant full access to these cannabinoids’ benefits. Hemp. co calls this the “ultra-entourage” effect, which means that these two cannabinoids work together to provide therapeutic benefits that are greater than those provided by either cannabinoid alone. Hhemp.co flower blends combine high CBD and high CBG plant varieties in an innovative way unlike anything else on the market, while still maintaining compliance with the 0.3% legal limit for THC in hemp products. As a result, Hhemp.co was able to position itself in over 30 states and 5,000 brick and mortar stores, with no signs of slowing expansion soon.
Insider Tips About the CBD Industry While some in the industry look for ways to get around regulations, Dr. Le’s approach has always been to put the wellness of Hhemp.co customers first, just as he did with his son. Trust is how the Hhemp.co brand has been able to expand. He recommends that CBD companies fully embrace compliance and lab testing to improve quality and develop trust. Trustworthiness is paramount in building a CBD brand. As CBD becomes more mainstream, it is increasingly important that consumers can trust the brands they buy from. Unfortunately, there are many unscrupulous companies out there who are looking to make a quick buck by selling low-quality CBD products. Dr. Le’s firsthand experience as a parent made him especially sensitive to the needs of those looking for trustworthy solutions. Dr. Le recommends that consumers do their research before buying CBD. It is important to look for brands that have a good reputation and that offer third-party lab testing results on their website. With his focus on overall wellness, Dr. Le aims to be a leader in the industry—not just for his own brand, but for all brands within the cannabis, hemp, and CBD space to succeed. This comes from a mindset that when one CBD business succeeds, everyone succeeds. “As a community,” Dr. Le summarized, “I think we should help each other.”

JULY HOROSCOPES ARIES (MARCH 20 – APRIL 19) Your time is now with many planets in your sign making it feel like you were born for this. You’ll get plenty of positive attention this month as Leo energy helps you take the stage, standing out at social events with self confidence and positivity. Towards the end of the month, you may find yourself working through some internal battles as Chiron stations retrograde in Aries on the 19th and Jupiter on the 28th. A reflective strain like Dark Phoenix by Virtue is the perfect thing to help you transform. Not to worry, this will only make you even stronger in the end. TAURUS (APRIL 19 – MAY 20) Step into your harmony as Mars moves into Taurus on the 4th of July, increasing your stamina, passion, and long term strategizing. Things feel comfortable and you are in your happy place. The upcoming Cancer energy creates an empathetic warmth in your typically practical approach especially when Mercury enters Cancer on the 4th and Venus on the 17th. You are feeling the love whether it be romantic or familial. Be careful of indulging too much, we know it’s your favorite thing to do. Ultimately, you’ll have a lot of energy this month so try something relaxing to keep you grounded like the Mac & Cheese by Bond Road Cannabis. GEMINI (MAY 20 – JUNE 20) Gemini makes lots of good connections this month and if you’re single, attracts the attention of many suitors. You may even cross paths with someone that’s fated as a long term partner! For those in a romantic relationship(s) this could manifest as positive attention from coworkers and new professional contacts. Try not to overthink things and let this boost of confidence get to your head, you may try to take on something that is beyond your current capabilities. Enjoy something with a euphoric head buzz that keeps you moving but slows down your thoughts like the Punch Breath Motivator PreRoll Pack by Cannavative. This will help your creative and social energy reach new heights as we enter Leo season.

CANCER (JUNE 20 – JULY 22) Cancers feel right at home in July as Mercury and Venus move into the sign on the 4th and 17th, respectively. Things will flow easily and you find yourself with a lot of confidence as well as both physical and mental strength! This allows you to handle a lot at once which will come in handy in your household caring for loved

ones and issuing advice to friends. This month, you have a lot of energy and may even become a bit restless with a big appetite for learning new things and sharing all that you are with those you love. Enjoy the rest of your season with something that will keep you calm when you’re feeling overly activated like the tasty Chocolate Peanut Butter Cubes by Dreamland. LEO (JULY 22 – AUGUST 22) Bring on that main character energy, it’s Leo season on the 22nd! You may feel a bit more grounded than you have in your past birthday seasons, especially due to Mars in Taurus which slows things down but keeps you level headed. This is helpful for offsetting your tendency towards overconfidence. Don’t worry, you’re still feeling yourself and all the love your friends and family shower on you for being the star of the show. You’ll especially shine in communication when Mercury enters Leo on the 19th, adding a touch of performative energy in all that you do. Get weird with it and treat yourself to a half gram of the MAC Badder by Green Life Productions. VIRGO (AUG 22 – SEPT 22) Enjoy a well deserved ego boost this July as your self confidence soars. You will be convinced that you are the best and do your best in everything! The full moon in Capricorn on the 13th will bring you lots of recognition for your efforts as you work towards your goals. Be cautious of coming across as arrogant, remember there’s always room for improvement even though you are technically perfect. It may not be easy for you to connect with new people as you’ll tend to be overly judgmental and disapprove of those around you. Stay in the chill zone with a dependable vape that will keep your thoughts positive like the Papaya Cake Live Resin Cartridge by Binske. LIBRA (SEP 22 – OCT 23) Life feels easier as you succeed at work without much effort. Let the stress melt away. Embrace a happy balance between your obligations and play time allowing you to spend more time enjoying the things you love. Your back may be aching from improper posture and stress so prioritize your self care while you can. We recommend a soothing salve like the 1:1 Nordic Goddess Body Balm paired with an Avexia Lavender Epsom Salt Soak. You find time to meet up with friends you haven’t seen in a while deepening connections that soothe your soul. Everything will be calm and go smoothly even if you feel a bit extra emotional especially around the full moon in Capricorn on the 13th.
SCORPIO (OCT 23 – NOV 21) Change is in the air as you transform yourself and refresh your identity as you so often do. You will feel like you’ve been reborn, making positive lifestyle changes and perhaps even joining a new community. Be social, new connections will bring you opportunities to explore. Those who are close to you may feel left out so try to ease them into this new you. Be cautious of how you communicate which can sometimes come across as having an attitude. If challenged, you may stand up for yourself and say hurtful things you should keep to yourself. If you’re feeling irritated, take a smoke break with a hit from the OG Story Mini Dog PreRoll Pack by Dogwalkers. SAGITTARIUS (NOV 21 – DEC 21) Success comes your way this month as you come up with new ideas and persevere through demanding times. Now is the time to follow your goals as your efforts will multiply. Your confidence is glowing and people around you notice that you’re killing it. Leo energy can make you come across as pretentious to some. You’re also feeling a bit stubborn which may equate to being bossy, especially with family or your children if you have them. Using a soothing strain like Nuleaf’s Garlic Cookies when you feel aggravated should help. Try to keep yourself in check if you care about how you make others feel, or don’t and do you! CAPRICORN (DEC 21 – JAN 19) You may find yourself knee deep in troubles that you thought were previously solved, especially when it comes to your family dynamic. Take these resurfacing issues as a challenge, you know you can overcome any obstacle. Try not to let it take over your life because that’s when you become pushy which causes people to distance themselves. Instead, distract yourself with sports and work which will be especially fruitful around the Capricorn full moon on the 13th. Investing in self development will keep you distracted and satisfied enough to find inner peace. We also suggest a relaxing strain like Watermelon Gelato #36 by LIT to find your zen. AQUARIUS (JAN 19 – FEB 18) You’re fired up and ready for adventure this month Aquarius! The excitable energy that flows through you is unmatched and you have lots of drive for activities. This energy may come across as being all over the place but that’s just
how you are. With Mars powering you, there’s nothing you can’t do however those around you may find you too impulsive and restless to enjoy being around. Take a dab of something potent and relaxing before chilling with friends. We recommend Gorilla Goo Live Resin Batter by Boom Town to slow down as others will have a hard time keeping up with you. PISCES (FEB 18 – MAR 20) This month, you’ll be feeling quite emotional especially as Mercury and Venus move into Cancer on the 4th and 17th. This may cause abrasive situations with others. It will be hard for you not to take the actions of those around you personally. Try to keep opinions to yourself and enjoy some alone time exploring the creative energy of the upcoming Leo season. Your intuition is strong so you’ll pick up on things you may not have before. Even something small may drive you nuts. Taking care of animals and spending time in nature will help you find inner peace. Or, try a Rove’s infused preroll two packs in an uplifting, delicious strain like Pineapple Fanta!

>>> CBD for Pets Written in honor of ‘Our Bobbie Girl’ No longer by our side, but forever in our hearts
By: Sarah Schwefel
My family's journey with CBD for our pets began about 6 years ago. I just started CBD the year prior for my own health. Our cat, Bobbie, was 18 years old and her health was declining. She had respiratory issues, stopped eating her food, struggled to walk, and her age was taking a toll. One night that we thought was our last night with her, I gave her some CBD. I thought, we have nothing to lose. I did not know if or how it could help her, but I knew it helped me and at least, might make her last hours more comfortable. She made it through the night and the next day began to eat and drink a little again. After a few weeks on CBD our Bobbie girl, in my mom's words, ‘became a kitten again.’ She gained more strength and was right back to begging for cheese popcorn and grazing outside in the grass, watching her birds. CBD gave us our Bobbie back and allowed us a few more years to love her before she passed away at 22 years of age. Between that time, Bobbie saw the country. She moved to Las Vegas from Wisconsin and had the best time watching out the window during the 1,800-mile drive. When Bobbie passed away, I promised that day her legacy would always continue. I would yell from every mountain top that CBD is amazing for not just us humans, but for all animals and can help them live their best life, too! I hope this article can help you and your pets. Let's dive into a few of the many ways CBD can help the animals in our lives. All animals have an endocannabinoid system, allowing cannabinoids to bring benefit to their bodies. The endocannabinoid system is responsible for modulating dozens of functions throughout the body including pain, memory, mood, and more, promoting homeostasis or a state of health and balance in the body when cannabinoids are taken. All animals can benefit from cannabinoids, from our cats and dogs to horses and iguanas. In fact, the most primitive animal found to express cannabinoid receptors is the sea-squirt, an animal that evolved over 600 million years ago! As our animals age, it comes with an array of health issues and they have aches and pains, often caused by inflammation and arthritis. CBD can be a wonderful ally for our pets to help ease their pain. Studies have demonstrated CBD as a powerful cannabinoid for this purpose with a majority of animals in the trials showing improvement. A 2020 study was done where 32 dogs with pain, primarily from osteoarthritis, were given CBD. In the study 30 dogs showed significant improvement. Of the 32 dogs, 23 were prescribed gabapentin; within the group 11 lowered their dose and 10 were able to discontinue the drug completely, only relying on CBD. CBD has shown to significantly improve comfort and activity in animals that have ailments that cause pain and show CBD as a promising therapeutic option. Our cat and dog that are 14 years old both benefit from CBD as they age. Without CBD our dog can barely make it up the steps, and with it she chases her little 3-year-old brother around the yard. CBD helps my cat greatly with her pain as she ages and keeps her young to chase the dogs around and torment them.

Do you have a pet that has separation anxiety, has fears of loud noises, or maybe you dread firework season because your babies lose it with the loud bangs? You are not alone, and the good news is CBD can help. CBD helps to ease anxiety and keep our animal's calm by interacting with their serotonin receptors and helping to balance the nervous system. Our rescue dog takes CBD treats for anxiety, PTSD, and nightmares and it helps him greatly by keeping him calm, slowing the rate and decreasing the severity of his nightmares, and helps him feel safe despite his past. Seizures are a serious condition that affects many animals having researchers, and veterinarians alike searching for therapeutic options that may help. Many pet parents have reported CBD helps to eliminate or reduce the seizures their pets have, and anecdotal research suggests CBD may be a great option to help animals who experience seizures, even those that are currently drug resistant. A study from CSU found CBD reduced or eliminated seizures in 89% of dogs that were ingesting CBD, and at current, the American Kennel Canine Health Foundation is sponsoring research studies on dogs with drug resistant epilepsy to solidify the benefits of CBD for animals with seizures even more. CBD has also been shown to help improve gastrointestinal health and reduce nausea and vomiting. Additionally, this powerful cannabinoid can also support our pet’s immune system, nervous system, cardiovascular system, and so much more. And, there are no severe side effects reported. You and your beloved pet have nothing to lose and everything to gain. CBD has been an important factor for my families fur babies well being and has made a significant impact on their lives in the best ways. There is a quote that says, “Everyone says their pet is the best, and none of them are wrong.” Let’s make sure our pets have nothing but the best. Our pets bring so much fulfillment and joy to our lives and with CBD we can make sure they stay happy and healthy as long as possible, lighting up our days and bringing us companionship and love only they can.

Maggie McKinney Multiple Symptom Patient The trials, tribulations and triumphs of being a dedicated cannabis patient For most people, looking into how cannabis can work for them as medicine is complicated, especially if they are dealing with multiple serious health issues. Dosing and finding consistent medications and products can be a challenge.
themselves on plant-based remedies. Many do so by watching and learning from their own patient’s successes, and understanding that medicating with cannabis or other plants is a singularly proactive process.
Searching online or listening to wellmeaning friends can lead down rabbit holes with misinformation running amok on this plant and what it can do.
For Southern California cannabis patient Maggie McKinney, plagued with multiple serious ailments, with vague diagnoses, prescribed a plethora of pharmaceuticals, having gone through multiple surgeries, she was at her wits end in finding relief.
Since the medical professionals aren’t educated on the endocannabinoid system (ECS), the biologically based system that accepts healing compounds from plants throughout our bodies, they must educate
“I did the acceptable route and took everything they prescribed me, like a good girl,” she said. “The side effects from the pills were often worse than the symptoms - especially stomach issues, vomiting, dry heaving, couldn’t eat, losing weight rapidly and sleeping a lot - missing out on life. And fuzzy thinking forgetting important stuff, suffering blackouts, and hallucinating.” The amount of pharma a patient with multiple symptoms is given can be startling when compared to the amount of symptom relief found in one plant. A superfood is named as such due to its many compounds able to address all of our biological systems, strengthening the immune system, while quelling multiple symptoms. It’s not rocket science, it’s how plants work with

our biological systems (see Daily Dose, Superfoods, Superplants). “Through all of it I’d been to the emergency room more times than I can count or want to remember - and I was taking multiple pills a day, some four times a day, some five times a day,” she said. “I had alarms set around the clock for the pharma. It was never ending - and I was still sick.” To follow the medical rule of thumb, she requested a prescription for marinol - a synthetic cannabis alternative, but said the efficacy wasn’t the same as the real thing. “I’d always smoked and made pot brownies, but I didn’t understand why it made me feel better,” she shared. “At one point I bought a Magical Butter machine and was making oils, medibles, vaginal and rectal suppositories and tinctures, but my go-to has been smoking flower. Getting correct information on what works has made everything harder.” While smoking quells many symptoms, including digestive issues, the patient is only getting a fraction of the beneficial compounds from the plant. The difference between smoking for symptom relief and ingesting to put serious ailments into remission and treat serious pain, can make all the difference to a successful outcome using cannabis. But finding your correct dose is just one issue cannabis patients face. Health’s Schedule 1, with no medicinal value, alongside Heroin. “My family is a mixed bag when it comes to being knowledgeable on cannabis,” she explained. “When I finally went full blown cannabis and let them know, some wanted to do an intervention, others wouldn’t let me see grandkids I’d helped raise. It’s okay if I sit there doped up on painkillers, but I’ve been harshly judged about my cannabis use. It really makes no sense to me. All I know is that cannabis has worked better than anything the doctors could give me - and I’m still doing away with the last few pills prescribed.”
Under the Knife In the early 90s McKinney was 35 years old, cut from hip to hip, with her gallbladder removed, a hysterectomy performed to remove fibroids, along with nine pounds of excess skin from a prior gastric bypass. “I had been 300 pounds before the bypass,” she said. They had me on the operating table for 14 hours, with stitches on the inside from the breast bone down to my abdomen - they lifted my stomach like a hood. Then in 1998, I had a tubal pregnancy that ruptured.” Her diagnoses over the years have been extensive, chronic pain of Fibromyalgia (FMS); chronic digestive issues with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS); Thyroid cancer with removal taking two surgeries; menstrual issues with no diagnosis; and severe malabsorption issues - where the body doesn uptake vitamins and minerals needed to keep in homeostasis, aka: a healthy human.
“I was ten years post surgeries with physical and emotional traumas that included deaths in the family, custody issues with grandkids due to drug use in the family, and more” she added. “Many of the surgeries were to remove excess scar tissue from prior surgeries.” McKinney was told that 95 percent of her stomach was ulcerated and bleeding from scar tissue. The pain and discomfort of scar tissue remaining from surgeries isn’t something often discussed, and comes with its own set of painful symptoms - with sharp electrical-type nerve pain often remaining for years, as it interacts with other healthy tissue and nerve endings. Add narcolepsy and cataplexy to her list of ailments, and McKinney was a very sick human. The list of pharma prescribed over the years has been extensive, all replaced with cannabis, both by smoking and ingesting concentrated infusions, such as olive oil and honey. She’s learned how to make the stronger cannabis oil, using an alcohol reduction method (see Daily Dose, Replacing Opioids). Consistency in formulation of concentrates and in dosing is everything when using cannabis or plant-based remedies. I like to say, think of it as a prescription you must use every day of your life, to treat what ails you and for prevention, with the amounts varying greatly depending on your own alchemy and what your body has been through. “I believe that our physical and emotional are tied together, and just smoking
cannabis alone helped me get through all of it, but ingesting it in different ways has made all the difference on a daily basis including replacing addictive painkillers.” The pain from family not understanding the use of plant-based therapies, including the highly stigmatized cannabis plant, is often greater and lingers far longer than the ailment itself. “All I can do at this point is continue to heal, and continue to hope that the naysayers can see how much better I’m doing on cannabis than the pharmaceuticals,” she concluded. “One of my younger grandkids understands this is grandma’s medicine, and I’m grateful for that. I think the kids get it if you treat it normally. Grandma’s not an ax murder, she’s using a plant to feel better. That’s my truth. That’s the truth I’d like to pass down to my grandkids.”

Mushroom Maven Sierra Riddle, Founder of Landon’s Health Hut, Offers Natural Alternatives to Conventional Treatments
Sierra Riddle knows first-hand the power of CBD, THC and Psychedelics. In 2012 when chemotherapy and radiation failed to help her two-year-old son, Landon, who was suffering from terminal Leukemia, she turned to nature for answers. And when traditional Mental Health medicine failed her and her best friend Maritza, she turned to Psychedelics. The founder of Landon’s Health Hu (launched in 2014) and Mushroom Mavens (est. 2021) Sierra is a thriving face within the cannabis industry and an expert RSO/FECO/cannabis oil maker. Today, she is on a mission to share the benefits of these plant-based medicines with as many people as possible alongside her best friend, Maritza. Her company, Landon’s Health Hut, has been at the forefront of produciAng the natural, organic and high potency CBD health products and RSO/FECO/cannabis oil that evolved right from her organic mind, hands and kitchen. The products result from a mother’s desperate search to heal her son. Years of research and Sierras’ intense efforts brought about effective products in the market that work towards natural healing. Landon’s Health Hut was developed as a response to CBD and THC’s medicinal benefits on Landon Riddle and the tremendous progress of cannabis and hemp for cancer treatments. While the company is thriving ceaselessly, it was started in the quest to find alternatives to conventional medicines and treatments for cancer for a child who was dying. The calming
effects and remarkable progress on Landon's cancer and overall health led Sierra to develop a line of all-natural, full-spectrum CBD products for every kid going through the same complexities, available in all 50 states. As a concerned mom of a two-year-old sick child who was undergoing barbaric and outdated treatment for acute lymphocytic leukemia, the #1 diagnosed pediatric cancer in America. Sierra was relentless in researching various natural therapies and alternatives to contribute to her son's deteriorating health and to bring about awareness on pediatric cannabis therapies for fellow cancer families. Her efforts led her to discover the incredible benefits of cannabis and hemp and to mount a nationwide assault on the lies surrounding children using cannabis. For her efforts, Sierra was reported and investigated by Child Protective Services 12 times; she won each case. CBD has been a revelation in the health industry with its potential to cure various ailments without any side effects or unwanted highs. CBD is short for cannabidiol, one of over 100 cannabinoids found in hemp plants that provides natural relief for various issues like anxiety, pain, inflammation, seizures, and much more. THC is another compound found in the same plant and has many incredible benefits for severe pain, appetite control, cancer cell death, an increase in quality of life, elevated moods, and more. Still, unlike CBD, it does have what some call side effects. We call them the munchies, a good giggle and a nap. Sierra says, "CBD and THC oil has been used for medicinal purposes for centuries, but it’s only recently that it has gained popularity as a health and wellness supplement. As I witnessed the soothing and positive effects of natural cannabis ingredients on my son’s health, I promised not to go back to harsh pharmaceutical medicines anymore. That’s when I realized how I can educate people about the potential health benefits of CBD and THC and help them find the right treatments for them or their children.” The company has successfully innovated and brought new products to the market. While they continue to lead the way, Sierra says, "Our goal is to provide people with safe and effective products that they can trust. We want to help
54
people live healthier lives, and we believe CBD and THC can play a role in that." "I've never been happier to see the progress of my son's health. He will celebrate 10 years of cancer free in November! What I truly love about cannabis is that it is a plant-based natural medication, and it has such incredible applications in the wellness and medicine industry without any harmful effects, and we can quite literally grow it ourselves! " says Sierra. As the cannabis industry grows, Landon’s Health Hut strives to reach people extensively to elucidate the soothing effects of natural medicine. Beyond promoting natural treatments, the company is deeply committed to its philanthropic endeavors. It has been allocating 10% of every sale to CannaMommy, a Colorado non-profit, aiding struggling families since 2014 and donating massive amounts of RSO to families in need in this year’s first quarter; they gave away 1,180 grams of RSO! Wow! Recently, Sierra and best friend and partner Maritza Bermudez established another plant-based company, Mushroom Mavens, which has captivated vast audiences with their Psychedelic Education, Group Meets, and safe access to psychedelics through their exclusive community and members-only group. As well as capturing sustainable online shoppers through its mushroom clothing options and décor. The duo has further plans to innovate and bring mushroom products for mental health and overall health and wellness to the market. The ladies at Mushroom Mavens also work extensively with local and national organizations focused on providing education and advocating for psychedelic policy reform, such as Decriminalize Nature NV, The Sierra Psychedelic Society, and the Las Vegas Psychedelic Society. Meet Sierra, Landon and Maritza at the Las Vegas Cannabis Awards Show and Music Festival on July 10th @Area15 and See us at Champs Las Vegas on July 26-29 in the Mycelium Section!! cbdforall.org mushmavens.com Instagram @mushroommavens

>>>>>Let's Talk with Tee An Interview With Ethan Ramsey of 24th West Organics Organic Hemp Flower from Farm to Table
Ethan and Bonnie Ramsey started their hemp farm in June 2019. They have always had a passion for growing cannabis, but they never had the opportunity to grow it on a large scale. So, when the opportunity to start a hemp farm arose, they ran with it! I caught up with Ethan to find out the story behind their brand, their goals, and why their products stand out from competitors.
Tee: So... what made you get into this industry? Ethan: I’ve been a cannabis enthusiast for half of my life now. I was working with a hemp company out of Oregon when licensing was issued here in Arizona so we figured why not go all in and see what we can produce ourselves? It’s been a long, very tough road but we’re extremely thankful to be here and surviving as the market has taken a turn. Tee: So, I understand that you folks are a family-owned company out of Arizona. How many employees do you currently have? Ethan: We have a couple of friends that helped out at harvest and will help when trimming gets overwhelming but
56
other than that, it’s actually just us- we do everything! Yea, it’s just me and my wife, we pump everything out. It’s been a wild ride, it’s been fun though! Tee: What products does your company offer? Ethan: We offer topicals, sublinguals, and flower. Flower is pretty much our specialty. That’s where we started! For the first couple of years we were really focused on our flower production, and now that it’s pretty established we really wanted to circle back and hit our products head-on. We’ve offered other products since we started, but we’ve really ironed everything out in the last year. We’re working on more product development, and figuring out what works for us in this industry. Our newest, most favored, versatile product is our “Centered Capsules” which are full-spectrum hemp capsules that include: CBD, CBDA, CBG, CBGA, Lions Mane, Turmeric, and Elderberry, at 3000mg per container (35 capsules). They even come in a biodegradable hemp plastic container. This product was created to support mood, energy, immunity, and inflammation. A recent study out of Oregon showed that CBGA and CBDA have proven to block Covid-19 from entering the cell, so we made the capsules with that also in mind. Tee: I’ve been in this industry for a long time now but one thing I’ve noticed is that your products stand out. I am a daily consumer of your flower cannabinoid varieties and when I break down the flower, the terpenes are aromatic and have a very distinct complexity. Which we don’t see all the time with cannabis flower. Ethan: Yea, we get that a lot! A lot of people say they mix it with their cannabis flower (THC) for the terpenes. It’s all about curing. We’re enthusiasts of flower, so when it came to hemp flower, we really
brought our niche to the table that was comparable to top-tier THC flower. Tee: Yea, I’ve noticed that the quality surpasses anything I’ve seen in the hemp market. What’s your secret? What are you guys doing that makes it stand out? Ethan: I think it all goes back to motives. We spend a lot more time in the field hands-on than I think a lot of people do. But, once they’re established and in the field, I think, you’re either farming or you're a cannabis grower. Hemp flower seems more like “fly by night,” that was the gold rush. It was rushed by somebody who tried to turn their crops and make a cash crop overnight. It diluted the market terribly. The CBD space has been rough, but we’re really thankful to be alive in it. Tee: What practices do you implement that you find different from your competitors? Ethan: Really, we lay off so many nutrients that it would amaze you. My parents own a farm of cattle and horses (we have deep ranching roots here in Arizona), so we implement their manure. It actually goes into the soil, it’s tilled into the soil and it really alleviates a lot of the need for added nutrients. And, I feel like our terpenes really stand out in that aspect in a weird way. It’s something that I can't quite explain, but it was something that worked out in the first season, and we saw so many benefits from not adding the typical nutrient regimens and still getting that quality. We actually don’t get the typical bud structures that you see, but we’re okay with that. Sungrown, low-nutrient addition, grown 5700’ cured 8000’ altitude-slow cured with our own twist. That’s one thing that may have something to do with how our flower retains a good moisture level, because of the altitude.
Tee: I much rather have quality rather than appearance. Quality reigns over appearance. Ethan: Yea, what we lack in appearance, we make up for in quality. The smoothness of the burn, it’s softer on the lungs Tee: What are your main cultivars and why have you chosen those to grow? Ethan: We typically run Matterhorne CBG flower, that are derived out of Italy. We ran with that and we’ve been back breeding everything since 2020. We spin-off of that and the Maverick CBD flower. We don’t really have much from what we first started with. We got in early enough that we kind of took advantage of our own breeding. Tee: What’s the most common (relief) review from your customers that you hear often? Or symptoms that your products assist with? Ethan: That’s a tough one, in recent months it has varied. It’s been pretty wide lately, the most recent one that stood out was “Tourettes.” That one surprised me, but I was thrilled to hear it! I’d say our top, most common review response says relief of “stress and anxiety”, which is somewhat our focus. Our salve is our topical go-to as far as pain relief goes. Tee: What’s your favorite cannabinoid and why? Ethan: I would have to say CBG. Although, its precursor is CBGA, which is fascinating as well. But CBG is probably my favorite because
of what it does for me as far as altering my mood instantly. That has probably given the most impact on me. And overall, I would have to say that THC is probably my favorite active cannabinoid. THC has really brought me into all of this, my first love is THC. Tee: Where did the name “24th West” come from? Ethan: That was actually the first street corner that we planted our first plot on. We initially started in this wholesale. We were originally gonna start wholesale, but we saw the lack of quality flower hitting the market. We knew that that’s what was being processed into the CBD oil as far as nationally, and we wanted to just hop on that and produce the best flower. And, everything just kept flowing from there. We established a quality flower procedure and we decided to step in and create our own products but everything initially started as we just wanted to get quality in the market. 2018 and 2019 were crazy- it looked like a High Times 80’s issue of flower! Tee: When you’re shopping genetics, what are you looking for? Ethan: When it comes to seeds, we want to find hearty genetics that will hold. Out here in AZ, we have serious weather variants. It could be 50 degrees one day, and 115 the next. We have a lot of wind, and rain, so we can’t even plant our next crop until July 1st, cause we have these flats that just destroy crops. Everything will be leaning for the rest of the year. So, I look for sturdy, hearty genetics. Anything that is will produce resin cause we like to squish for our rosin line.
Tee: What do you want to see happen with hemp, or what do you want people to know? Ethan: I think we’re just getting started in this whole legalization thing. I’m excited to see what’s to come of it, and when we’re going to push through with federal legalization. As for the industrial side, focus on being more sustainable and being more conscious of using environmentally friendly packaging. There’s a lot that should be done to be more mindful. The amount of waste is beyond me. Tee: Yea, I do my best to make sure I put all used plastic packaging in the recycling bin. Ethan: Oh for sure, as far as companies are concerned, there are a lot of things that you could do differently, especially with the margins in these cannabis companies. I’m baffled at how wasteful we are. One thing I’d like people to know is that we’re a small family farm, and definitely not with the dirty parts of the industry. We’re patient-focused, and we look forward to the future! For more on their products go to www.24thwest.com. Use promo code “Canna” for a discount! Majestic Moon Child
By stephanie shehan
Shelly Ray's Healing Journey
Shelly Ray aka GreenQueenShelRay, is the CEO and Founder of Majestic Moon Child, a holistic health and wellness business. I met Shelly in early 2021. She and her husband had just moved to Las Vegas and when she told me her story and what prompted her cannabis journey, I knew I had to learn more about this amazing woman. STEPHANIE SHEHAN: When we first met, I believe you had just moved to Vegas (and we were in the midst of the pandemic). At that time, you were involved with a CBD/wellness company. Are you still with the company? If so, tell me about it. SHELLY RAY: Yes, I am still with Arieyl. I am a founding member and have been with them since their launch. We are a health, wellness and beauty company - with hemp, nootropics, mushrooms, fulvic minerals, and so on. The holistic stuff that people need to know is available to them. I love nothing better than helping people learn and change the quality of their life. These phenomenal products -along with my coaching- allow me to do just that. It’s the winning formula and I’m thrilled to be able to package it up and offer it the way I do. So that tells me I will be here for a while! SS: You also had a moving story about cannabis and your weight loss journey which I would love for you to tell our readers about. SR: Man, this is the heart and soul of what turned my life around. I was stuck in the medical system. What started as a diagnosed “thyroid problem” by someone who clearly doesn’t understand how our body truly works, ends on a high note, with me taking my life back. My thyroid was not the “problem,” and this story’s turn around begins when I realized that and walked out on my doctor’s advice. Best thing I ever did.
62
No matter what I did, those doctors could never get my thyroid regulated. Their answer was always to try a different pill. At first, I agreed to follow the masses. But I was just jumping from pill to pill, and not only was my hair falling out, in addition to even more side effects, I was extremely fatigued all the time. Not to mention I was just packing on the pounds.
That’s what sent me headfirst to learning even more about our hemp plant - CBD, CBG, CBN, THC, terpenes, etc. I read anything I could! I was mad at the system, and that’s when I realized what I am here to do. Raise awareness! All the things I could do and why our medical system will not. It’s both eye opening and sad to learn at the same time.
It did not matter what I did, I would work out consistently and still not lose weight. In fact, the pounds kept coming. The doctor finally looked at me one day and said “Well I guess you are just always going to be the big girl now!" WHAT??? I stopped weighing myself at 250. I found a picture after my dad had passed and I asked my mom who it was in the picture with him. IT WAS ME, my head was tilted back because I was sleeping but I didn't even recognize myself.
I never looked back. I quit listening to any advice from doctors about prescription pills, and today I am down over 125 pounds. The healthiest I have ever been at 47 years of age. On a side note - I have access to a quality tested CBD oil and started giving it to my mother. Today, at 78, she takes no other medications and is healthy as can be. She told me I changed the quality of her life, and that forever changed the trajectory of mine. If I hadn’t already figured out what I was here to do, that would’ve surely solidified it.
It was that exact moment I knew I had to do something. The medical system that I had believed and trusted in had failed me – and led me to learning all this on my own to save my own life. I stopped all medication cold turkey completely threw it out. I had noticed in dealing with my daddy's passing when I was smoking it curbed my appetite, so that’s where my research began. And my hand to God, there are certain strains of THC that SUPPRESS appetite. WOW, between working out, and strategic smoking, I really began dropping the weight. I lost 70 pounds in six months. Then I turned up pregnant. IMAGINE THAT!? 10 years prior, I had a tubal pregnancy that almost cost me my life and 4 other miscarriages followed, all while on prescription pills. So, to say I was shocked was an understatement. I went to the doctor because I was high risk and wanted to do everything right. I stayed with his advice. I got off everything holistic and went back on medication and miscarried at 18 weeks.
SS: Getting healthy is where it is at, both for mind and body. What other lifestyle changes have you made? SR: I love to do yoga, I read, I meditate, I really try to inspire and uplift everyone I meet. Doing that also releases anandamide - the bliss molecule which activates the ECS. I love being outside, swimming, boating, and Jeeping. I am just very active. SS: How do you feel about conventional medicine? SR: Woo, man, I know I don't like it at all. I believe the body is a miraculous thing that heals itself. If you are on any kind of chemical pill, you are masking the problem and creating more instead of treating it and bringing your body back to a state of homeostasis naturally. I was stuck in our medical system for a while, it’s not good (read previous rant). I am dedicating my life to spreading knowledge and awareness about our bodies endocannabinoid system, in hopes more people will better
understand their body and why we need the hemp plant. SS: What dispensaries can we find you at when in Vegas? Any favorite products or strains? SR: I am a sativa girl but love it all. I LOVE reading and educating people on terpenes. Terpenes are so important. It’s not just about the THC levels. My favorite dispensary is Wallflower, but you can find me at Exhale, Oasis, Reef. I love Ms. Vegas, Miss X, Green Crack - I like the real stanky stuff. SS: You now run your company Majestic Moon Child, tell me about that. How can readers follow you and check out your products? SR: Majestic Moon Child is my baby. It’s everything I’ve learned and the coaching I am doing now. After 20+ years of Entrepreneurship in the canine training industry (dogs have an ECS too) I have switched my focus to coaching people. Showing them there is light…building awareness and giving people real options. Anyone can take their life back at any age. Majestic Moon Child is geared towards holistic health and wellness: From the life-changing Arieyl products, to coaching my beautiful and amazing customers – and everything in between. We get into depths of all the fun stuff: candles, crystals, sound therapy, energy healing, shaman drumming, and moon cycle energy. I am motivated to add motivational speaking to my coaching resume, sharing my story on stage and building awareness while reaching as many people worldwide as I possibly can. If you would like to join the cause, I have a Facebook group @ www.facebook.com/groups/ majsticmoonchildhealing. I would love to have your like-minded energy!
