f you’re interested in reducing your energy bill and your environmental impact, Geoscape Solar is a one-stop shop that’s been creating sustainable solar designs for 13 years. Geoscape Solar was founded in 2008 by Michael Boches (CEO), Jeff Chavkin (President) and Lee Watson (COO). “We saw it as the wave of the future—something that was important and good,” said Boches. Like any great start-up, the business was started in a garage. And, their families would gather as the three of them worked—often sharing family dinners. In fact, family was one of the influences behind starting Geoscape. “We shifted our focus to not just making money for the family, but also doing something that our families could understand and be proud of,” said Boches.

Helping Build a SUSTAINABLE FUTURE Geoscape designs, engineers, procures, and installs systems, and provides continued operation and maintenance of the system afterward. “We have people looking at your system every day to make sure that they are performing,” said Chavkin. The company will also take over operation and maintenance for systems that they didn’t install. In addition to solar panels, Geoscape has also entered the electric vehicle charging space, and can help companies implement other energy-saving technologies. “It’s really about helping people eliminate operating expenses by using clean energy,” said Chavkin. “We have no agenda— our clients’ design configurations are determined by their goals, not ours.” To that end, Geoscape is always open and forthright with its customers about their options for going solar. “Communication with our clients is one of our greatest
strengths,” says Lee Watson COO. “We consider our clients to be both solar partners and family.” “Often potential clients balk when contemplating the perceived “cost” of solar. In our experience, a New Jersey client who decides to create his/her own solar energy will be in a much stronger cash flow position with solar than without - regardless of the financing tool used to get there,” said Chavkin. In addition to harnessing tax incentives, utility net metering, and NJ’s new FIXED renewable energy credits, Geoscape brings a range of creative financing models to meet their clients’ goals. The team at Geoscape has the experience and expertise to find a solution to help all types of property owners (including nonprofit, commercial and residential) save and make money with no up-front out-ofpocket cost.

Geoscape is driven by its mission to help build a sustainable future. Evidence of its mission in action can be seen in the impact its services can have on a single business: In 30 years, one of its clients, The Wilshire Grand Hotel, will have eliminated the equivalent of 41 million pounds of carbon in the air, 2,500 cars off of the road, and 2.1 million gallons of gas, as well as the equivalent to planting 20,000 trees. “At the end of the day,” said Boches, “We’re about helping our customers go about their daily businesses or lives in a more environmentally sustainable way.”
